Daily half & half lunch for 1200 yen
In the city, there are hidden gem restaurants located on the basement floor or on the second floor and above. (In my personal opinion), today's Hagi-san is also like that. Well, the entrance on the ground floor is quite noticeable, but downstairs opens up to a spacious dining area. What's more, there seems to be a separate area at the far back (probably a large private space with a round table). Today, I visited with a colleague from another branch, which is quite rare. According to my colleague, it's close to the office, delicious, and reasonably priced, so they often come here. With that introduction, you can comfortably venture underground.
Now, the menu includes lunch sets A, B, C, and various à la carte dishes. I mentioned to the staff that there are so many choices, and they responded with a smile, "Having a wide menu is our specialty!" Their enthusiasm is quite appealing. After much deliberation, I decided on the daily half & half, sharing half of set A and half of set B. It comes with two main dishes, rice, soup, salad, and pickles. My colleague confidently said, "Hmm, today, I think I'll go with noodles."
The mapo tofu is not too spicy, with a color that suggests it's easy to eat. It may not be authentic, but it's definitely not Japanese-style. The sweet and sour pork is delicious and tender, and I realized it was made with pork tenderloin. This is why it tastes so good. It's been a while since I had sweet and sour pork, but I'm completely satisfied. Now, let's take a look at the noodles next to me. They look delicious too. This adds more options to the Ginza lunch lineup. Bon appétit!
