We wanted to eat grilled meat and stone bibimbap at Shinjuku's "Jojoen Yugentei" with our partner in April 2023. We made a reservation for Friday afternoon at 5 pm before Golden Week and headed to the restaurant. Located in Kabukicho, the restaurant was luxurious and spacious, with each table separated like a private booth. We started with Kakuteki, Oi Kimchi, and Jojoen Salad, and splurged on the premium meat selection which included top sirloin and prime rib. The meat was delicious and satisfying, especially when paired with Jojoen's special sauce. The stone bibimbap, served by a kimono-clad staff member, was also flavorful and generously topped with meat. The service was excellent, with the staff even changing the grill for us. We ended the meal with complimentary ice cream and enjoyed Makgeolli. The total bill for two people was 27,300 yen, which we felt was reasonable considering the quality of the food and the upscale ambiance of the restaurant.

I visited "Yugetei Shinjuku" in Shinjuku, which is a top brand store of Seryo-en. Seryo-en is a place I quite like. There is something indescribable about the taste of Seryo-en, isn't there? The first time I tried it, the impression was unforgettable. This restaurant is located right in the heart of Kabukicho. Recently, Kabukicho has been undergoing redevelopment with the addition of Godzilla and a new tower, but the vibrant and never-sleeping atmosphere of the city remains unchanged. "Yugetei Shinjuku" is easily recognizable as Seryo-en, from the sign to the interior design reminiscent of Seryo-en on the first floor. I was seated at a table and ordered from the menu. Here's what I ordered: - Tongue Salt Grilled (3800 yen tax included) - Kalbi Grilled (3300 yen tax included) - Lean Roast Grilled (3300 yen tax included) - Top Harami Grilled (4900 yen tax included) - Top Mino Grilled (2400 yen tax included) - Hormone Grilled (2200 yen tax included) - Chicken Thigh Grilled (2000 yen) - Chapchae (1200 yen tax included) - Seryo-en Salad (880 yen tax included) - Ginban Cold Noodles (1800 yen tax included) Overall, as expected, it is the top brand of the stable Seryo-en group. The meat and seasoning create a unique world. Personally, I think that the regular menu items are the best. I tried to order a good balance of meat and seasoning, focusing on not ordering too much fatty meat. I realized that I actually enjoy the side menu items more. The service was stable and had a good distance. The famous ice cream at the end no longer had a chocolate coating, which was a shock, but the ice cream itself was delicious. I paid by credit card. The prices have gone up compared to the past, but it's understandable. It was very delicious. I will come back again. Thank you for the meal.

Tonight's yakiniku restaurant is Yugen Tei Shinjuku. It is a well-known prestigious establishment that has been a pioneer in the industry. The must-try dish that continues to impress is the premium kalbi. The taste is consistently excellent, offering a luxurious yakiniku experience. Lunch for a colleague's birthday celebration at this restaurant. Since we were going to Yakiniku restaurant, we chose this place. The salad was very delicious. The meat was also very tasty with a great sauce. We were shown the private rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors, and I thought it was a luxurious and very useful restaurant. There is no extra charge for the private room on the 2nd floor.

The private room was nice, but you have to make a reservation at least one month in advance or you'll miss out! I usually don't eat much fatty food, but the Kalbi was delicious. It was like a Chateaubriand that costs as much as a nice dinner course at a fancy restaurant. We, a group of 5, had 2 plates and enjoyed it while laughing. It was a delicious, fun, and happy night.

Having a lunch meeting in Kabukicho after a long time. Started with a 6800 yen lunch set and a bottle of beer. Before the meat arrived, we were served with kimchi, namul assortment, wakame soup, Jojoen salad, rice, and dipping sauce. I started with the famous Jojoen salad, a simple salad of lettuce and cucumber with a sesame oil salt dressing that was delicious. The kimchi from Jojoen is always sweet with little spiciness, making it easy to eat, which I love as I'm not a fan of overly fermented kimchi. The namul assortment and wakame soup were nothing special. Finally, the meat arrived at the table. The plate had 2 slices of beef tongue, 3 slices of loin, probably sirloin, and 2 slices of what seemed to be heavily marbled short rib. The portions were generous. I started with the beef tongue, searing one side and leaving the other side rare, dipping it in lemon juice before taking a bite. Delicious! Next, I quickly grilled the short rib and loin, then poured the sauce over rice. The sweet and savory Jojoen sauce made the rice disappear quickly. However, with the strong marbling, it was a bit heavy on the stomach for me, not being young anymore. The sauce was also thick, masking the flavor of the meat. Overall, the atmosphere was nice, the experience felt luxurious, and the service was good, making it suitable for business meetings. Finished off with almond jelly and iced coffee. The newly opened Tokyu Kabukicho Tower and the end of the coronavirus pandemic have brought more people to Kabukicho than during the bubble period. Trying to decide on a place to dine with a family from Hong Kong who are visiting Tokyo for work and tourism, we attempted to make a reservation at Yugentei, a reliable choice. However, our desired time was uncertain in terms of availability. So, we were unable to make a reservation. But we were told that there is a possibility of getting a seat if we wait at the restaurant during that time. Therefore, I decided to wait at the restaurant. The luxurious entrance, with sofas, which is about 30 tatami mats in size, is different from the surrounding eateries. While waiting, my friends from Hong Kong also arrived and were escorted to our seats. There are private rooms available, but all seats on the first floor have partitions that do not obstruct the view but maintain privacy. It is not an exaggeration to say that the quality of the meat is guaranteed, as high-quality black wagyu beef that matches the price is served. When foreign guests visit, there is a high probability that they will use this place. Even my friend from Europe, Slovenia, was amazed by the quality of the meat here and left impressed! All the meats are tender, sweet, and recommended not to be overcooked. The thick-cut harami, fillet, beef tongue, rib roast, and more are all delicious. This place in Kabukicho with a piano is famous for its reliable yakiniku. I visited a lounge with a piano for the first time, and it was calm and perfect for relaxing after yakiniku. I stopped by after a hotel party at Kabukicho Tower to satisfy my hunger and relax before heading home. They stay open late, so it's a good place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a little break. The food and drinks are also great. However, according to a regular customer, before the pandemic, you could order yakiniku, but now it seems they changed it so you can't order food from downstairs anymore, which is a bit disappointing. Nevertheless, it was a very nice restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

I was completely exhausted yesterday, couldn't even eat at night, and this morning I only had fruits... I'm done for... The paradise of the past 3 years with COVID was wonderful... This is how work was supposed to be originally... I almost missed out on a popular program at the gym because someone talked to me at the reservation timing... Phew... Good thing I set the alarm with a loud noise to remind me of the reservation time... Everyone was startled but it was no problem for me... Today, I will definitely use the super flex and go home! It was a bunch of irrelevant muttering, but my boss seemed to sense something and treated me to a yakiniku meal...(((o(*゚▽゚*)o))) Seriously! I will go with you with great enthusiasm♪ And it turned out to be at the famous "Yugen-Tei"! The lunch set with kalbi and shrimp was so generous! But please don't overwork this clumsy person... I visited the Yakiniku restaurant "Jojoen Yugentei" before watching Super Mario MD4X at TOHO Cinemas in Kabukicho. It's a chain that I used to frequent during my student days, and back then I thought it was the most delicious yakiniku chain in Japan. It was a weekday lunchtime, so I thought I could just walk in, but it was full. After waiting for about 15 minutes at the spacious entrance, a table opened up and we were seated. I ordered the "Ginmi Lunch", which is the most expensive lunch option. It came with special sirloin, premium kalbi, tongue with salt, kimchi, salad, namul, rice, soup, and dessert of almond jelly, along with a drink. The food was served in about 5 minutes. The familiar plate that I used to enjoy at the Roppongi branch of Jojoen. This Roppongi branch was the first Jojoen restaurant. The tongue with salt was clearly frozen as it was quite tough despite its thickness. Still, when grilled carefully and dipped in lemon juice, it was quite tasty. The style of eating beef tongue with lemon juice, which is considered a standard throughout Japan, is said to have originated at Jojoen's Roppongi branch. The premium kalbi was delicious, with a nice char and a distinctive Jojoen flavor. The special sirloin had a good amount of marbling, and the fat dripping onto the grill caused flames to flare up frequently. It was quite fatty meat. The combination of the sweet fat and sauce made the flavor a bit too sweet for my liking. While the first piece was good, eating multiple pieces of kalbi and sirloin made it feel quite heavy. The amount of meat was more than enough, but the heaviness of the fat and texture was not to my liking. My friend felt the same way. It felt like the meat had been artificially fattened rather than naturally raised, resulting in a heaviness that was overpowering. Perhaps it's more suited for younger customers, like students or young working professionals.

It's been a while since I visited Yugetsuin, and I'm happy that they are open late at night. I usually only eat tongue and skirt steak, but the dishes at Seryu-en are truly delicious. The steamed tail and celery kimchi side dishes were also very tasty. All the seating is in private rooms, so we were able to enjoy our meal in a relaxed atmosphere. I would love to go back again.

The grilled green onion with salt and the thinly sliced roasted pork were especially amazing...!! They were so delicious that I lost my words to describe it, I'm sorry for this simple review. Yuxuanting's atmosphere is great, and the staff are polite and provide excellent service. I ordered my favorite harami and tongue. The portions were generous and the quality was excellent. I visited Yu Gen Tei in Shinjuku for a business dinner with a partner. It's located about a 4-minute walk from Seibu Shinjuku Station, right in the heart of Kabukicho. Yu Gen Tei is a well-known brand under the Jojoen Group, known for its high-quality dining experience. I personally prefer the interior and service at the Ginza Namiki-dori branch, so it had been a while since I visited the Shinjuku branch, which is known for its less safe surroundings. We made a reservation the day before and arrived around 6:30 pm. The restaurant is open from 11:30 am to 4:00 am, with over 400 seats, making it easy to visit even without a reservation. We were seated in a semi-private room for 4 people. Yu Gen Tei offers a traditional à la carte style dining experience rather than the trendy course menus. Here's what we ordered this time: - Jojoen Salad 850 yen - White Beef Intestines 1,000 yen - Steamed Honeycomb Tripe 1,600 yen - Grilled Salted Beef Tongue with Green Onions 5,100 yen - Grilled Lean Beef 3,000 yen - Marinated Harami Beef in a Pot 4,300 yen - Bibim Noodles (Spicy) 1,700 yen - Jojoen Tendon Tofu (Spicy) 1,550 yen We also had a few soft drinks, and the total bill for 2 people was 21,250 yen. Considering that most yakiniku places offer courses around 15,000 yen, being able to choose what we wanted to eat à la carte at this price was a good deal. The restaurant can have a questionable clientele depending on the time and luck, but overall, Yu Gen Tei is a reliable choice in the less safe area of Shinjuku. It had been a while since my last visit, and I felt that the quality of the food and service had improved. I recommend giving it a try!
