マダム・チェチーリア
I had a relaxing lunch at La Table de Robuchon, and since the weather was nice, I took a walk to the square where there used to be a big Christmas tree until three years ago. To my surprise, I found the Blue Note on the left side! Last December, the Baccarat crystal was lit up, but the Christmas tree was not placed in front of it due to the crowd gathering there. I'm sure this year the illumination will be beautiful. There was a soft serve ice cream stand with benches around, so I thought of getting some soft serve ice cream. To my surprise, they said, "Terrace, dogs are welcome!" There was a cozy sofa area that was empty, so I decided to sit there. The service at Beatrice was quick, and they brought us a stylish stand with a bowl of water for our dog. I ordered Shinshu Farm's apple juice and Umbria's Brecciarolo. This place used to be a restaurant for Ebisu beer, and even now, you can drink Ebisu beer, which was born in Ebisu in 1890, and Blue Note Ale made with North American yeast. The restroom was located behind the DJ booth, and I had a look inside the restaurant. The stage was not too big, and it was nice to be close to it. The DJ booth had a woody feel, and the bar counter was stylish. It seemed like they were preparing for a live performance in the evening. I ordered a glass of red wine from Miyazaki Prefecture's Tsuno Wine (Muscat Bailey A) or Brecciarolo from Italy, but the wine was too sour, so I apologized. However, the apple juice had a lovely aroma, sweetness, and a clear taste. It had a tropical fruit-like flavor, and the color was beautiful. The balance between sweetness and acidity was exquisite. It was different from the typical sweet and bland apple juice. The first thing my partner said was, "Is this apple juice? I think it's pineapple juice." I took a sip to confirm that it was apple juice (laughs). Shinshu Farm had peach and grape juice as well. It must be incredibly delicious! There weren't many people passing by Garden Place on a weekday at 3 pm, so we could relax on the sofa. Two planes flew in from two directions and descended towards Haneda Airport. In the 1980s, there used to be a Blue Note on the antique street in Aoyama. I listened to Sarah Vaughan there, and since it moved to its current location, I've heard David Sanborn and Joe Sample. I last went to see Toku in 2015 and the Blues Brothers in 2016. It's close by, but at this size of a live house, it's impossible for big-name artists to perform. I asked the staff who brought water for Beatrice, and they gave me a card with a QR code, saying, "You can check who's performing here anytime!" I'd love to come see a live performance here, even though I can't bring Beatrice with me!
