I visited in the early afternoon and there was quite a line of customers waiting. I came to eat tuna and since I like shiny things, I had the Hokkai Don with Seki Saba. As the name suggests, it was packed with tuna, yellowtail, scallops, spot prawns, salmon roe, sea urchin, and salmon, all very fresh. The price is on the higher side, but the satisfaction level was even higher.

We arrived at 12 o'clock. When we lined up with 8 people, many of the limited menu items were already sold out. We waited for about 30 minutes to enter. I had a Hokkai don for 3000 yen. The slices were thick and the fish was delicious. The vinegar rice had too much vinegar, it was overpowering. We didn't have any alcohol for lunch. The fact that they are only open on weekdays is a drawback.

The tuna bowls with ingredients like otoro, kamatoro, and sunazuri, clearly labeled with their place of origin, are amazing. But today, I had the "Super Hokkai Don" for the second time. I couldn't handle the volume anymore. At 3000 yen, it's a steal. This ultimate seafood bowl can't be easily beaten by popular bowls from port towns and markets across the country. #Otoro 3 slices #Grouper 2 slices #Uni large grains #Ikura spoonfuls #Scallop 2 slices #Live abalone small round one #Yellowtail 3 slices #Salmon 3 slices #Botan shrimp 3 tails #Chutoro half bowl #Tamagoyaki

In mid-September 2023, for lunch. I went to a restaurant near Iwamoto-cho that I had saved because their tuna bowl looked delicious. It's a somewhat upscale seafood bowl place. It's quite close to JR Kanda Station, even by walking. I arrived around 11:20 am, and there were already about 7 people in line, so I joined the queue. According to Google Maps, the restaurant opens at 11:45 am, so seeing a line forming before that time shows how popular it is. Around 11:50 am, a staff member came out to take orders, and then I waited for about 15 minutes before being seated at the counter where dishes were already being served. I ordered the limited edition "Salt Kama-toro, O-toro, Chutoro, Akami, and Chuo-otoro bowl" which was only available for 9 people. The bowl was filled with plenty of tuna and looked delicious. Beneath the Akami, there were layers of Chutoro, and the bottom of the center was filled with Chuo-otoro. The miso soup with strong clam broth was served on the side. I started by trying the sashimi, starting with the Akami. The tuna flavor was rich and delicious. The Chutoro had a perfect mix of fattiness and red meat umami, while the Chuo-otoro had a coarser texture allowing the tuna flavor to shine through. The O-toro melted in the mouth, and the Kama-toro was even more fatty, making it a luxurious combination. Pairing it with vinegared rice was heavenly. The portion was quite generous, and the rich tuna flavor dominated, so I kept resetting my palate with pickled ginger. It was a fantastic experience to indulge in so much tuna in one bowl. It's amazing to find this level of tuna bowl in Tokyo. The fact that a line forms early is a testament to how good this tuna bowl is.

Went to eat tonkatsu but found out they were on summer break, so ended up in a seafood bowl restaurant with a long line. Ordered during the wait and the bowl took a while to arrive, but it was huge and delicious! The rice was a bit dry and hard though. Would like to try their limited edition dish next time. Thank you for the meal!

On a weekday when the restaurant is normally closed, I had some unexpected free time due to a change in my prior plans. I decided to visit the restaurant I had been wanting to try, especially for their lunchtime specialty, the premium tuna bowl. I arrived before the opening time (which is essentially 12 o'clock) and found a few customers already waiting outside. As the time approached 11 o'clock, the line grew to about 10 people, and by 11:30, there were around 30 people waiting. At around 11:50, the staff posted the day's menu outside and came to take orders. Luckily, I managed to enter in the first group of customers. I ordered the limited "Salted Kama-toro + O-toro, Chutoro, Akami, and Chutoro Bowl." After about 20 minutes, the dishes were prepared and we were guided to our seats. The presentation was like entering a special party venue, it was quite impressive. Now, about the bowl of 5 types of premium tuna from Akami to O-toro, as soon as I saw it, I could tell it was something extraordinary with its thick, richly fatty, and high-quality cuts of tuna. The O-toro and Kama-toro looked like slices of ultra-premium Kobe beef. Underneath the various toro slices, there was a generous layer of Chutoro. I started with the Akami, and the intense umami flavor was mind-blowing right from the first bite. It was a luxurious and exquisite taste! I then proceeded to enjoy the Chutoro, O-toro, and Kama-toro, savoring the change in flavors with each bite. The Chutoro and O-toro were incredibly delicious with their melting fatty texture, and the Akami had a different but equally delightful flavor, providing a soothing contrast. The Chutoro hidden beneath was also of exceptional quality and taste, making all 5 cuts incredibly delicious. The freshness, condition, melt-in-your-mouth tenderness were all outstanding, making it the best premium tuna bowl I've ever had. While the portion size and fat content were on the higher side, the exceptional taste made it worth indulging in. I rarely come across such a luxurious tuna bowl. Personally, I had thought the best tuna bowl I had was in Shizuoka, but this bowl from "Umi no Sachi Sho" surpassed it in taste. The staff's service and hospitality were also very attentive and pleasing. It was a memorable experience of deliciousness that will stay with me this year. I look forward to cherishing the next opportunity to visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Today's lunch was at "Umi no Sachi Shou" restaurant. It is a small restaurant located in a building a few minutes east-northeast of JR Kanda Station (photo 1). I had heard that it is a popular seafood restaurant and wanted to try it out. When I arrived around 11:15, there was already a long line (which was still there even after I finished eating). After waiting for about two rounds, I was able to enter around 12:15. I ordered the "Kamatoro, Otoro, Chutoro, Akami, Nakaochi Don (¥3,200)" which is limited to 9 servings. It was filled with plenty of chutoro and other types of tuna. I was able to thoroughly enjoy my favorite tuna. Despite the wait, I highly recommend this restaurant. The staff were polite and kind, which added to the pleasant experience. Additionally, I was able to pay with PayPay.

It was my first visit to this restaurant. I feel like I stumbled upon an incredible place with such high satisfaction in seafood! The ikura, oysters, fatty sashimi (the otoro melts in your mouth!), sake-steamed clams, matsutake mushroom tempura, all paired with your favorite Japanese sake, is pure bliss. I definitely want to visit again!

This time, I went to a seafood bowl restaurant called "Uminosachi" in Iwamoto-cho. The lunch tuna bowl has been famous for a while, so I've been wanting to go to this place! They are only open on weekdays, so I haven't had the chance to go until now. The menu includes tuna belly, fatty tuna, lean tuna, medium fatty tuna, and medium tuna bowl for 2,800 yen. It's packed with 5 types of tuna and the rice portion is relatively large! You'll be shocked by this seafood bowl like you've never encountered before! Note that there is a limited amount of tuna, so they may sell out even during lunch hours. It's best to go early!

This popular seafood bowl restaurant moved to a new location in March 2023. Despite arriving a little after 11:00, there was already a line forming with two people ahead of me. I had to wait for about 15 minutes until the fourth person arrived. The heat was unbearable, but thankfully there was shade. The staff were energetic and polite when they finally took our orders around 12:00. I ordered the chef's choice seafood bowl, which was overflowing with fresh seafood like jumbo prawns, tuna, abalone, ikura, scallops, salmon, and yellowtail. The miso soup with clams was also delicious. However, after waiting in the heat for an hour, I felt like my condition and the fish's freshness were not at their best. I might avoid queuing in the heat for seafood in the future!

At 11:30, lined up for a bowl of salted kama-toro, o-toro, chu-toro, akami, and chu-otoro from Shiogama. About 10 customers were already waiting. I was able to sit down with a stranger for the first round. It's a restaurant where you don't get to eat often, so I savored every bite. It's a delicious place. I want to leisurely enjoy my meal with some drinks, but...

Today, I came here. I had been eyeing this place for a while now... I arrived at 12:10 PM. There were 9 people waiting outside. The limited menu items were disappearing quickly, but 15 minutes later I was asked for my order and I chose the limited special selection of 4 types of Minami Maguro (lean, otoro, chutoro, akami, nakaochi don) for 2,700 yen. A few minutes later, I entered the restaurant and was seated at the counter. I was served cold tea while waiting. It took less than 10 minutes for my order to arrive. It was a huge portion! Now, onto the tasting. The lean and otoro were a bit sinewy... the chutoro was sweet and delicious. The akami was average, I was expecting it to be a bit more tender. Honestly, the nakaochi might have been the most delicious. The rice was slightly tangy and sweet, I personally prefer a bit less tanginess. The miso soup with clams and seaweed was delicious. Overall... it's rare to find such a variety of tuna cuts in Tokyo. However, I don't think the cost performance is particularly high at this price range. When it comes to seafood bowls, I think the top contenders are Wachizu in Akasaka, Yuukyuu in Oarai, and Edomasa Sushi in Asaka. However, since I had Minami Maguro today, things might have been different with regular tuna. Thank you for the meal.

I visited a restaurant where you can enjoy delicious seafood bowls. I arrived a little after 12:30 on a weekday and went in. [What I ordered] Nagasaki-produced Kamatoro and Nakaochi Donburi (2,600 yen). I visited Shou-san, a place often seen on social media for having the best cost performance seafood bowls! Since I arrived late, the popular menu items were already sold out. The bowl had a tremendous volume and was delicious. Under the Kamatoro, there was plenty of Nakaochi hidden beneath. The first time trying Kamatoro was indeed delicious with its fatty texture surpassing Otoro. It was a very satisfying lunch! Please enjoy the best cost performance seafood bowl. (Please note that they seem to only be open for lunch on weekdays.) Thank you for the meal! Please check out my other posts as well! I also have an Instagram account (@ranko_foodie). Thank you!

Tabelog 3.34 ✍️ *Before relocation was 3.57 Umi no Sachi Shou Iwamotocho/Kanda: Hokkaido-produced Uni and Chutoro Donburi ¥2,600 On this day, I visited "Umi no Sachi Shou" for the third time to try their exquisite maguro donburi. The restaurant is known for its delicious seafood donburi in Iwamotocho and has been very popular since it relocated to the former location of "Yasunami" in March 2023. It's a super popular spot with long lines even before opening. It's conveniently located just a 2-minute walk from Iwamotocho Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line, a 4-minute walk from JR Kanda Station, and a 6-minute walk from JR Shinnihonbashi Station on the Yokosuka Line. On a certain Monday, I arrived at 11:05 am and was third in line. The area was completely shaded, so it's easy to wait even in the summer. The menu for the day was presented at 11:48 am, and I placed my order. I was tempted by the Kamatoro and Yasunazuri donburi, but I ordered the "Hokkaido-produced Uni and Chutoro Donburi." At 12:00 pm, I was seated at the counter. The counter seats the first 5 customers, while the rest are seated at tables. I was able to enter on the first round, around the 15th person. When I entered, the donburi was already prepared. The shiny, beautiful Uni piled up in the box was truly impressive. The Uni melted slowly in my mouth, exuding sweetness and umami. The Chutoro was tender and unlike the typical oil-mixed Chutoro, it had a strong umami flavor. This is why it's considered the best in Tokyo! I've eaten many maguro donburis, including some that I didn't post, but I don't think you can find this quality in the 2,000 yen range. The Yasunazuri that @harapecooh and @shinya2023jp had also looked delicious, so I'll try that next time. - Umi no Sachi Shou 12 Higashimatsumotocho, Kanda, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Miyagawa Building East Wing 1F - 2-minute walk from Exit A5 of Iwamotocho Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line (219m) - 4-minute walk from the East Exit of Kanda Station on various lines - 6-minute walk from Exit 8 of JR Shinnihonbashi Station - Business Hours: Not available (Visited at 11:55 am) - Closed: Not available (Assumed to be Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays) - Payment: Not accepting cards, electronic money, but QR code payments are accepted (PayPay)

I had a bowl of Hokkaido Matsue Maguro Kamatoro & Shio-Kama Maguro Otoro, Chutoro, Akami, and Nakaochi. It was a delightful experience to enjoy my favorite tuna in a different form with such a generous portion. The melt-in-your-mouth texture of the Kamatoro and Otoro was exceptional, despite their thickness. I wished they could stay in my mouth forever, but they disappeared too quickly. Thank you for the delicious meal. The line started forming at 11:15 am with 2 people ahead of me, and the restaurant opened a little before noon. Luckily, I was in the shade, so I didn't mind waiting in the heat.

Nagasaki-produced fatty tuna & medium fatty tuna for 2800 yen. I arrived about 20 minutes before the opening, with about three groups of customers in front of me. I was asked for my order first, and when the restaurant opened, the food was already set on the table for everyone to start eating at the same time. The tuna was incredibly fatty and delicious, but towards the end, I started to get a bit tired of the richness. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant used to face continuous setbacks due to long lines even before opening, but I was able to get in smoothly by going later. However, about half of the menu items were already sold out. Since I finally made it there, I decided to try the Hokkai don with the most variety of toppings. From the top, you can see sea urchin, salmon roe, scallops, button shrimps, and simmered abalone, with thick cuts of fatty tuna, medium fatty tuna, salmon, and lean tuna underneath! Just a few bites in and you won't even reach the rice, but it feels like you're eating sashimi (laughs). Simmered abalone, which is rarely seen in seafood bowls, was delicious, but it might be even better paired with alcohol. The fatty tuna melts in your mouth and is incredibly delicious. The salmon hidden under the salmon roe is also fatty and luxurious, like a sea parent-child bowl. The scallops are thick and have a satisfying texture, absolutely delicious. Although the medium fatty tuna was replaced with lean tuna due to being sold out, it was still delicious. The button shrimp is fresh and bouncy, and I couldn't resist sucking out the miso from the head. The amount of fresh seafood piled on top alone is enough to fill you up, and I left feeling completely satisfied. If I had to nitpick, the sushi rice was a bit lacking, unable to keep up with the high quality of the seafood. Still, in terms of seafood bowls in Tokyo, it is definitely worth more than the price. The restaurant has a counter at the back and four tables at the front, but the interior is cramped, so it may not be a place to leisurely dine.

Before the store even opened, there was a long line that took an hour to get in. Once inside, the service was quick, with our food arriving in about 10 minutes. We tried the "Tuna Showdown - featuring Otoro and Chutoro from Sakaiminato, and Otoro and Chutoro from Iki, along with Chutoro Donburi." The result of the showdown was that the Otoro and Chutoro were deliciously fatty. It felt more like a draw to me. I was surprised that they served such generous portions of Otoro and Chutoro on the rice. I recommend everyone to try this experience at least once.

I was worried that the popular Hokkai donburi would be sold out, but luckily I was able to order it. I asked for less rice, but the sashimi toppings alone seemed to be enough to fill me up. Everything was fresh and delicious. The miso soup, as mentioned in reviews, had plenty of clams and was tasty. It was worth the wait. The female staff members were very busy but still spoke politely and made the experience enjoyable. I would definitely like to visit again.
