Five adults went to the popular yakiniku restaurant "Shibaura" near Komazawa Park. It is about an 18-minute walk (around 1250m) from Komazawa Daigaku Station. Located slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the entrance to the west side of Komazawa Park along Komazawa Park Street. There are several coin parking lots nearby, so those coming by car can rest assured (parking fees are not too high). The restaurant is housed in a narrow four-story building, with the kitchen on the 1st floor, table seats on the 2nd floor, tatami rooms on the 3rd floor, and a VIP room on the 4th floor. We were seated on the 3rd floor, where we took off our shoes and sat on the sunken kotatsu. There was a roaster on the table, but unfortunately, the one at our table had some issues with the heat control. Nevertheless, the atmosphere of the yakiniku restaurant was top-notch. It is a restaurant with the ability to be selected as one of the top 100 restaurants, recommended by an acquaintance who frequents eateries. On this day, we were invited by this acquaintance and had already ordered the chef's special course, where only the "good cuts" were served one after another. We enjoyed the following dishes: - Assorted kimchi - Cabbage platter - Corn salad - Wagyu tongue with three types of salt (premium wagyu tongue, marbled wagyu tongue, tsurami) - Premium thick-cut wagyu chateaubriand - Tomo-sankaku - Misuji - Zabuton - Megane - Premium wagyu harami - Shibaura loin - Specialty "3-second seared fatty meat" (forgot to take a photo) - Yukkejang soup (forgot to take a photo) - Cold noodles (small) (complimentary) - Black honey pudding The different cuts of meat had varying textures and levels of fat, allowing us to fully enjoy the experience. The famous 3-second seared fatty meat is cooked for 3 seconds on each side, then rolled up and eaten immediately. It may not look like much, but it is a truly satisfying dish. Served with grated daikon ponzu and green onions, it is delicious and refreshing on the stomach. Overall, the quality of the meat, including the rare cuts, was excellent. The way the meat was sliced, the way it was skewered, and the careful preparation of the sauces all contributed to a great dining experience. The total cost for five people was 47,000 yen, which seems like a good value for the quality and quantity of food. The staff's service was good, but there was a bit of a rushed feeling and some inconsistencies in the serving times, which was a bit of a concern. Nonetheless, we thoroughly enjoyed the yakiniku until we were full. Thank you for the delicious meal.
