On this day, we went for a stroll in Akasaka in search of a good restaurant. And just as we started our stroll, we came across a restaurant that caught our attention. Gyoza Bar...? Yes, I love gyoza! We have to go there!
Gyoza Matsuri, as the name of the restaurant suggests, is a place that specializes in gyoza. It's quite straightforward. If they didn't have gyoza here, it would probably cause a riot. They have a variety of gyoza that all look delicious! But before we dive into the gyoza, we need something to drink. Don't rush. When it comes to gyoza, beer is the classic choice! However, this restaurant offers a wide range of drinks including Shaoxing wine, highballs, various wines, and sparkling wines! Among all these options, we decided to go for... red wine! Lately, there has been a quiet wine boom among us. I mean, I really want to have a beer. Yes. But, doesn't gyoza with beer seem a bit casual? So today, let's have gyoza with wine. Now that we are all set, let's order some gyoza!
- Double Pan-Fried Gyoza (10 pieces for 650 yen)
We started with the classic choice! The gyoza has a perfect crispy texture and looks irresistible! It's so delicious! Honestly, it makes me crave for beer, but surprisingly, it pairs well with wine!
- Tom Yum Water Gyoza (450 yen)
Next, we tried this unique gyoza with a spicy flavor and coriander, which can be a love-it-or-hate-it dish. Surprisingly, it also goes well with wine.
- Chicken Skin Gyoza (530 yen)
Next up is the chicken skin gyoza. No need for explanations! It's packed with juicy chicken and has a satisfying texture.
- Soupless Tantanmen (780 yen)
Now, we tried something other than gyoza. I've been into soupless tantanmen lately! It has a flavor similar to oil noodles, but it still tastes like tantanmen! The perfect level of spiciness and deliciousness makes it addictive.
- Mayo Ramen (630 yen)
We ordered another noodle dish! And the smell of mayonnaise is strong, giving off a late-night snack vibe. This is... the epitome of indulgence...! But... food that makes you gain weight is always delicious, right? This was my first time trying ramen with mayonnaise, and it was... delicious. It's so good. I feel like I could eat it endlessly. And even though it's called ramen, it's more like oil noodles since there's no soup. The destructive power of mayonnaise is still strong.
Lastly, we ordered gyoza again! Because it's just so good. These gyoza are absolutely amazing. We ate and ate and ate, even though it was late at night. This place is definitely going to be a regular haunt for us. The gyoza, as well as the unique dishes and noodles, are all excellent, so I highly recommend trying them! You can definitely get a lot of calories here.
So, after filling up on gyoza, we were satisfied and headed back home.
