Today, we drove from the hotel to have dinner at a restaurant near the Furano Wine Factory, which is apparently one of the tourist attractions in Furano. As we continued down the road past the wine factory, we arrived at a large building on a hill where you could overlook the city of Furano. The parking lot was also large, and before the COVID-19 pandemic, it seemed like they catered to group tourists. Upon entering, we found that there were no other customers. It seems that they are able to continue operating in this large building probably because of public funding. Their website also has a very serious design. The wine factory was originally established as the Furano Grape and Fruit Research Institute, so it seems like this whole area is a major project for Furano City. We were seated and had a great view of Furano City from our table. However, it was a cloudy day and not snowy enough to see a winter wonderland, nor was it nighttime for city lights, so it felt like we came at the most awkward season and time. Still, the view was captivating. We placed our order, focusing on the Ezo deer steak that we had checked on their website, as well as other items shown in the photos. Surprisingly, they did not have any dessert menu. It's strange because I think they would have a high chance of getting orders if they had dairy or wine-flavored desserts that match the image of Furano. While we waited for our food, we enjoyed the jazz background music in the quiet atmosphere where we couldn't hear any noise from other customers. The dishes were served one after another. The Ezo deer steak looked delicious, but the aroma of the bacon steak was particularly enticing and made us even hungrier. We started with the salad, which had incredibly crisp vegetables. I think the low temperature and good freshness and storage methods contributed to the quality. Then, the Ezo deer steak arrived. The Haskap sauce was locally sourced and complemented the meat well, but I wished the sauce was served on the side so I could fully taste the flavor of the deer meat. The bacon steak was very satisfying. Additionally, the mini fondue, with cheese fondue inside a hollowed-out bread reminiscent of San Francisco's clam chowder, was a delightful side dish. After eating the fondue ingredients, eating the bread soaked in fondue was a special treat. The portions were modest, making it a great side dish. Since I was driving, I didn't drink any Furano wine and didn't end up feeling full, but the satisfaction level was top-notch.

On September 16, 2023 (Saturday) at 12:00, revisiting this day, we visited Furano for a day trip to visit our hometown. My wife, three sons, grandpa, and grandma, a total of five people, had lunch together to celebrate Respect for the Aged Day a little early. The restaurant we visited is called Furano Wine House, located on a small hill overlooking the Furano basin, known as Shimizu-yama, a familiar place for the people of Furano. The restaurant was founded in 1979, even before Furano became famous as a tourist destination and started to become known as a wine town. My first visit was in the 1980s when I was a child of a farmer, and my sister and I were taken there for a rare outing during summer vacation. It was also where I learned how to use a knife and fork. My sister worked part-time here during her high school years. Even as an adult, I have visited this restaurant with my family many times. It is a restaurant that every resident of Furano has surely visited at least once. The last time I visited was on January 4, 2020, so it had been three years since my last visit. This time, my wife, three sons, and I shared the Furano Cheese Fondue (2,365 yen). We also ordered the Kamifurano Pork 100% Hamburger Steak with Demi-glace sauce (1,177 yen) and the Sirloin Steak (150g) from Australia (2,090 yen). Grandpa also had the Sirloin Steak, while grandma had the Hamburger Steak with Japanese-style sauce. For drinks, my wife, grandma, and three sons had Oolong tea (385 yen), and grandpa had black tea (440 yen) after the meal. It was a luxurious dining table. First, we had the Cheese Fondue. It was so delicious, I didn't remember it being this good. The cheese is just amazing, as expected in Furano. The bread was also delicious! We finished by devouring the bread soaked in cheese. My wife and three sons were so impressed by the deliciousness! The Hamburger Steak was also delicious! The fresh Kamifurano pork had a texture and juiciness similar to beef. It has been my favorite menu item since I was in elementary school, and I think it is quite unique! The Sirloin Steak was cooked to medium-rare perfection. This is also my favorite level of doneness. The bill was discounted by 20% because grandma had a Furano resident-exclusive members card! The total amount for five people was 9,489 yen. On the way back, my wife, grandma, and three sons shopped for Furano's specialty products at the first-floor shop. They bought a pack of Cheese Fondue that can be stored at room temperature. Grandpa and I went outside first and admired the magnificent view of the Furano basin spreading at the foot of the majestic Furano-dake. We pointed to the area around Higashi-Tomita, reminiscing about our childhood home. Coming here brings back a lot of memories from my childhood to the present, like a slideshow in my mind. I'm sure grandpa feels the same way. "Sorry to keep you waiting!" My wife, grandma, and three sons came out. "It was delicious! Let's head back now!" Someday, we will look back on today as a good memory and reminisce about it nostalgically. With such sentimental feelings, we descended from Shimizu-yama. It was a wonderful meal! Thank you!

I visited for lunch on a regular day. I was able to get in right away without waiting. I ordered grape juice and cheese fondue. Both were very delicious. The view from the window was a peaceful scene typical of Furano. I had a luxurious and happy time.

I visited a restaurant in Furano for lunch, located further up from the Furano Wine Factory. I went there specifically for the cheese fondue served in a bread bowl called "Tokachi Cheese". However, I ended up ordering a set meal that included a hamburger with a small cheese fondue and coffee. The view from the window seat and the food were both fantastic, especially the cheese. It was delicious even when dipped with the hamburger. The coffee after the meal was also very tasty.

I went on a bus tour from Sapporo. All the ingredients were delicious! The mini cheese fondue in the bread was very tasty. The vegetables were also delicious, especially the pumpkin was exquisite! I didn't have high expectations because it was a bus tour, but it was really good! I want to go again!

It had been a while since I last went there. I was looking forward to the cheese fondue. It was crispy on the outside and fluffy inside a bread bowl filled with cheese fondue. It was delicious as always. The cheese was just amazing. The steamed vegetables for dipping in the fondue were also delicious and piping hot. The potatoes were especially tasty today. We ended up ordering more vegetables to dip in the fondue. The kids' lunch came with hot and crispy breaded shrimp, along with fried chicken, croquettes, spaghetti, rice, hamburger, cheesecake for dessert, and apple juice. It's a kids' lunch that even adults would enjoy. Despite the rainy weather, the restaurant was very crowded, but the staff were polite and attentive even though they were busy. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely visit again.

Visited for lunch in Furano. Ordered various dishes like carbonara and hamburger, but the most delicious was the cheese fondue. We even asked for a refill of the cheese. This cheese doesn't solidify even if it's not kept warm continuously. It seems like you can also order it to go!

A Western-style restaurant located on a hill where you can overlook Furano. Even if you're not a wine lover, you'll be satisfied. The cheese fondue is a must-try. The hamburger was also very delicious. The grape juice that you can only drink here is popular with children and they ask for refills. And the cost performance is also good. I definitely want to visit again.

In July, Furano is the season of lavender. I visited Furano by going around various Michi-no-Eki (roadside stations). Although there is no Michi-no-Eki in Furano city itself, on this day I visited four places: Minami-Furano, Shimukappu, Hidaka, and Yubari. It was a Saturday, so Furano was congested with traffic on the roads and at restaurants. Around 11:15, I arrived at Wine House, but the parking lot was almost full, which gave me a bad feeling. I climbed the stairs to the restaurant on the 2nd floor and there was already a waiting list. Looking at the waiting board, there were already 4 groups waiting. I wrote my name and waited, and then two groups of bus tourists came in, making me wonder when I would be able to eat. After waiting for about 40 minutes, we finally got seated and placed our order. It took another 20 minutes or so until the food was served. - Petite Fondue: 1,155 yen This was it! This was worth the wait. I shared it with my companion. Dipping the bread on a skewer into the sea of cheese was just amazing. The bread covered in cheese was unbeatable. The cheese was overflowing. It was such a blissful feeling. Ah, it's really delicious! - Kamifurano Pork 100% Hamburger Steak with Cheese Fondue: 1,650 yen Perhaps due to the busy time, the hamburger was slightly overcooked, but it was still delicious. The combination of this hamburger and the cheese fondue sauce was so tasty! Since the hamburger was a single item, I ordered rice. Getting the large portion of rice was the right choice. The rice just kept disappearing. The hamburger at Wine House is really delicious. Although this time it took longer, I didn't order a set meal, but they have a set A which includes hamburger, Petite Fondue, rice, and coffee for 2,365 yen, so I recommend it. I will visit again.

The restaurant set for the lunch on the regular sightseeing bus tour was delicious. The hamburg steak made with local pork was tasty, but the cheese fondue was especially good. I also ordered the original wine from Furano Wine House and was pleasantly satisfied beyond my expectations.

The scenery was beautiful and the atmosphere was cozy. I didn't have a meal, but I had a meaningful time. I couldn't drink wine because I was driving, so I ordered grape juice instead. The staff at the restaurant were very kind. There was a classic car event happening that day.

It was lunch with a set meal of Furano pork 100% hamburger with cheese fondue and rice. I couldn't resist having a Sapporo Classic beer. The hamburger sauce was refreshing and the first experience of cheese fondue in my life was amazing. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Kamifura's 100% pork hamburger steak with demiglace sauce in Furano. Furano is still in full bloom with cherry blossoms. The restaurant I wanted to go to during Golden Week only accepts reservations, so I decided to go there on a whim. Despite expecting everywhere to be crowded, it was surprisingly empty. My wife had the Furano cheese pizza. Although it was not completely empty, there were still some customers here and there, so it ended up getting quite filled. My wife's pizza had four different types of cheese. Each one had a different taste. It was delicious. The hamburger steak was juicy and flavorful. The turnips were also delicious. The plates were cute. Thank you for the meal. They probably also have wine. They accept PayPay.

On the second day of our Hokkaido trip, we visited Asahiyama Zoo in Asahikawa. The zoo cleverly showcases the natural behaviors of animals, such as polar bears, lions, and hippos, which was surprising and amusing. The animals were so close, providing a unique and enjoyable experience compared to other zoos. For lunch, we snacked on some potatoes at the zoo as we had indulged in the hotel's breakfast buffet. In the evening, we moved to Furano where we dined at Furano Wine House, chosen by my eldest daughter. The restaurant sits atop a hill with a view of Furano's mountains and town. We had Set A, which included petit fondue, a hamburger steak made with 100% Popo beef from Kamifurano, and coffee. We also enjoyed a half bottle of Furano wine, although it was a bit young and light for our taste. The hamburger steak was juicy and delicious. Many guests were enjoying wine and food while admiring the night view, creating a calm and pleasant dining atmosphere. It was a delightful meal.

This is a restaurant where you can enjoy Furano wine and meals from Furano. We had cheese fondue, assorted sausages, Ezo deer steak (with haskap sauce), Furano wine, and grape juice. The cheese fondue seemed to use cheese from the Furano Cheese Factory. We ordered 2-3 servings for 2 people, and we ended up quite full as we could finish all the bread in the pot. The cheese was not too strong, and we enjoyed it from start to finish without getting tired of it. The sausages were served in 3 varieties, with the top one being very juicy and delicious! It went well with the drinks! I was torn between Ezo deer and duck for the main dish, but I chose the Ezo deer because it looked delicious in the menu photo. It had no gamey taste, a firm texture with a strong umami flavor, and was very delicious! It paired well with the sweet and sour haskap sauce. Since we were in Furano, I recommend trying the haskap sauce! (You can also choose a Japanese-style sauce) I didn't drink wine, but the grape juice was also very delicious. I liked it so much that I wanted to buy it as a souvenir, but I was told that the juice without carbonation is only available in the restaurant.

We left the hustle and bustle of Furano Cheese Factory and had a late lunch with my wife for the second time. A lovely location overlooking the Daisetsuzan mountain range. The highlight of the meal was the cheese fondue. A firm bread filled with plenty of cheese. I wish I could have wine too if I wasn't driving... Next time, I'll try the hamburger recommended by everyone.

This is a shop I always visit when I go to Furano. The cheese fondue is rich and very delicious. This time, there were very few vegetables compared to usual, which was disappointing. You can also buy the sauce as a souvenir to take home. We enjoyed it at home too! ^-^

I went on a short trip with my friend who loves Western food. For lunch, we went to Furano Wine House where we could enjoy a 100% Kamifurano pork hamburger steak with cheese fondue for 1,540 yen plus rice for 231 yen. The hamburger steak was definitely homemade and delicious, but the portion of rice was quite small, more like a meal for a 3 to 5-year-old child. Even my friend was surprised by the small portion. The vegetables were fresh, the dressing was tasty, and the hamburger steak was flavorful with delicious sauce. However, considering the price of around 1,800 yen, the portion size was disappointing. If the rice portion was more generous for the price, I would rate it 4.0, but for now, it's a 3.5.

On the way back from Furano Farm, I stopped by without a reservation. It is a classy restaurant with a great view, and the menu is reasonably priced. They have a wide variety of wines, and the glass wine is also cost-effective. Even though there were group customers, the atmosphere in the dining room was calm. It seems like a hidden gem of a restaurant!

I tried this restaurant for the first time based on a recommendation from a friend. The atmosphere was nice and the food was delicious. The hamburger my friend had was very easy to eat and had a high-level taste that would appeal to everyone. I chose a set that came with cheese fondue, which was fun to eat and added a special touch to the meal. Considering that people visiting Furano are likely prepared for some expenses, the cost performance didn't feel very good. Around 12 o'clock on Saturday, we visited with 4 people during our trip. There were about 8 groups waiting. The parking lot was almost full. It's a very refreshing place with a great view. We were looking forward to the popular cheese fondue. It costs 2,200 yen for 2-3 people. You can also order additional bread, cheese, and vegetables. In the end, we ordered additional vegetables for 440 yen and additional cheese fondue for 990 yen. We also ordered Furano cheese pizza for 1,595 yen. I don't drink alcohol, but I love cheese. The bread was crispy and delicious. The vegetables were sweet and tasty. There was also a lavender field next to the restaurant, and we were very satisfied.
