Today I went to this restaurant for lunch and had to wait for 5 groups ahead of me. With the cherry blossoms blooming around Midtown, there are several restaurants where you can enjoy a meal while viewing the cherry blossoms, and this is one of them. Upon entering, I noticed some reserved seats as well. I was guided to a spacious and cozy counter seat. I ordered the popular "Four Kinds of Vinegar Dishes Assortment", which includes salad, marinated dishes, seasonal hot dishes, and a choice of one more dish to make a total of 4 side dishes. The meal also came with delicious rice and miso soup (with free refills). The ingredients were carefully selected and prepared using basic cooking methods like grilling, simmering, and steaming, resulting in exquisite flavors in every dish. Not only did it satisfy my hunger, but it also warmed my heart. The attentive service from the staff enhanced the dining experience even more. I highly recommend this place.

The miso soy sauce shop "Suju Masayuki Shoten" in Karuizawa offers Japanese cuisine using freshly cooked rice and local seasonal vegetables and ingredients from Shinshu. We started with a toast with beer. The meal included dishes like green bean and yam salad, simmered chicken, coriander tofu, and buttered potatoes, all topped with soy sauce and miso sauce which were delicious. The final touch was a fluffy rice with pork soup and egg over rice, which was very satisfying. I would like to try their lunch menu next time. ^_^

Definitely a must-visit!! If you're planning to go eat, I highly recommend it. I went with someone who was trying Sushigei for the first time, and they were extremely impressed and delighted by how delicious it was!! How about having lunch with your loved one here? You can have unlimited refills of rice and miso soup, so those who love to eat a lot will be thrilled. However, some may feel unsure if they are light eaters. In that case, just go ahead and try it without worrying!!

There are rice sets, miso soup sets, and you can also choose one or two items from the menu to create your own set meal without alcohol, just water and Japanese set meals for a luxurious dinner. The dried sea bream was large, slightly fatty, and delicious. The grated radish and lemon rice were delicious, very tasty. The miso soup had a richer flavor in the pork miso soup, which I preferred.

I love visiting Karuizawa, and I always make sure to stop by this shop. I recently became hooked on their Midtown branch and visited for the second time, this time for lunch! Since it's a shop founded on miso, their miso soup and miso dishes are delicious. When we went, they had sold out of some items, but you can change the rice in the lunch set to brown rice, which is great for health-conscious people! On this day, I ordered the miso-marinated mackerel. I usually go for the Shinshu salad lunch, but this time I tried the mackerel dish, which was very tasty. It was a mindful and enjoyable time. I will definitely come back again.

I finally got to go to this restaurant after not being able to go due to always being fully booked! I was seated by the window and the friendly server told me, "This seat has a very nice view, so please eat and drink a lot." We toasted with champagne and ordered the Hexagon Course. We started with vegetables dipped in vinegar miso, followed by sashimi, and I forgot to take a picture of the nanban-zuke (lol). Then we had buttered potatoes, and at this point I ordered another glass of champagne. We also had miso-marinated grilled chicken, tofu cutlets in miso sauce, sweet and sour pork with rice, miso soup, and dessert. I was very satisfied and full. Since I ordered champagne and the course, as I was leaving, the server thanked me for eating and drinking a lot. They said I could have seconds of the copper pot rice, but I was too full for that. I will definitely visit again.

I always eat at my favorite Japanese restaurant when I visit Karuizawa, my favorite travel destination. This time, I visited the Tokyo Midtown branch for the first time! The location is great and there are many foreign visitors, which adds to the cultural atmosphere. The restaurant was originally founded as a miso brewery, so the miso used in the dishes is delicious, and you can enjoy healthy Japanese cuisine. I would recommend this restaurant not only to Japanese people but also to foreigners. On a side note, I felt the attentive service and kindness towards my well-being, which made the food taste even better. I want to visit this restaurant again!

❥Late weekday lunch at the restaurant❥
Ordered items:
Grilled mackerel with salt
Mackerel simmered in Shinshu miso
I arrived a bit late for lunch, around 2 PM, and although there were a few groups of customers already inside, I was seated promptly. The set meal with mackerel was delicious, and you could choose between white rice and brown rice. The rice and miso soup were refillable. The mackerel simmered in Shinshu miso and the miso soup were exceptionally tasty, maybe because they used Shinshu miso. The miso soup was served in a large bowl with plenty of greens and ingredients. I was already full, but the miso soup was so good that I ended up getting a refill. I love their miso soup. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was nice, bright, and spacious, especially since it was a sunny day. I had a window seat with a good view, and the overall comfort was great. I would like to try other menu items next time.

I suddenly decided to have dinner in Roppongi, and headed to Midtown thinking there would surely be somewhere available. However, many restaurants were closed or fully booked, so I ended up at this place with a nice atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and seated me at a counter with a view of greenery in the back. It seemed like a restaurant that focused on local produce from Shinshu, and both the interior and presentation were lovely. The quality of the food exceeded my expectations. There was only one table that got loud after having some drinks, but the staff quietly closed the glass door, which I thought was understandable given the end of the pandemic. The freshly cooked rice was also delicious, and I ended up eating too much. It was a very satisfying night that made me want to visit Shinshu.

I often use this restaurant for lunch. Today, I had dinner with a friend who came from Osaka. We started with a toast with beer. I was happy to see they had Heartland beer. The sashimi platter with tuna, sea bream, and yellowtail was delicious. The eggplant stuffed with minced meat and deep-fried was surprisingly tasty with mustard. The potato salad with octopus was an unexpected but delicious combination. The pickles and green bean walnut salad were also tasty. The stir-fried vegetables and pork with black vinegar, rice, and miso soup were satisfying. We also had seconds of the peach sake. The total came to 15,250 yen. It was delicious and very satisfying.

Under the rainy season sky, I feel like having a moist Japanese meal. Midtown is surrounded by greenery, and the circulation feels better than across the hills. The inside of the building has a bright and open feel with high ceilings, greenery, and flowers, as well as a relaxing use of wood. The outdoor garden is particularly pleasant. Well-maintained flower beds with beautiful hydrangeas blooming and water flowing through the grass, perfect for a leisurely lunch on benches or terraces in spring or autumn. You can also enjoy cherry blossom viewing and take your dog for a walk. It's hard to believe this place is right in the heart of Ginza. The wide green view of Midtown provided in such a luxurious setting where you can enjoy reasonably priced lunches is a treat. I like Mr. Suju's soba, so I had a good feeling that the Japanese food here would be a hit, and I was right. The service is friendly and casual, making it easy to relax even when dining alone. The fantastic green view through the large windows alone makes you feel like a celebrity. I chose a menu that was close to shojin cuisine (around ¥1500) and it was delicious with a good balance. My favorite was the black soybean soy sauce koji pickle. The black beans were surprisingly soft, and the richness and umami of the soy sauce koji paired perfectly with tofu and grated yam. This is a unique dish that I couldn't make myself. And to my surprise, it was available for purchase! It would be amazing to serve it on cold tofu with myoga.

The combination of "Miso-grilled chicken" and rice cooked in a copper pot is the best. It's a wonderful space where you can enjoy Japanese food and drinks while looking at the night view of Roppongi. For dessert, I had the "Special vinegar anmitsu" and it was delicious. There were many staff members and the service was quick and great.

Sushi Dining Rokkaku Tokyo Midtown Branch, it's time for a hangover meal. I decided to try out a Japanese set meal restaurant called "Sushi Dining" located in Midtown. I had never been there before, but the menu outside looked quite appetizing with a variety of healthy Japanese dishes. I felt like I hadn't been eating this kind of body-friendly food recently, so I decided to give it a try. Inside, the restaurant was bright with large windows and spacious. The curtain said "Karuizawa," so I wonder if this is a restaurant from Karuizawa!
Highlighted Menu:
- Sushi Dining Special Tororo and Assorted Appetizers (Limited Quantity) 1400 yen
- Shinshu Bean and Leaf Vegetable Salad 1650 yen
- Mackerel Simmered in Shinshu Miso 1700 yen
- Grilled Mackerel with Salt 1700 yen
- Grilled Salmon with Miso Marinade 2200 yen
- Assorted Seafood Fry with Sushi Dining Special Miso Sauce 2300 yen
- Colorful Vegetables and Shinshu Pork Stir-Fry with Black Vinegar 1800 yen
There were quite a few options on the menu, all with a Shinshu theme, so it made sense to call it a Karuizawa restaurant. Everything looked delicious. Each dish comes with a small side dish, miso soup, and pickles. After much deliberation, I chose the Shinshu Miso Simmered Mackerel and the Colorful Vegetables and Shinshu Pork Stir-Fry.
Colorful Vegetables and Shinshu Pork Stir-Fry:
After a short wait, the dish arrived, and it looked delicious. The aroma of black vinegar was delightful. The flavors were great, with a nice balance of tanginess and richness. The pork was crispy on the outside and coated well with the black vinegar sauce. It was a perfect side dish for rice, and I was able to get plenty of vegetables in my meal.
Overall, it was a satisfying meal, and I realized the importance of having a healthy Japanese set meal once in a while. The price of 1800 yen was a bit high for a set meal, but considering the comfortable atmosphere and the Shinshu ingredients used, it was worth it.

I don't have many opportunities to eat Japanese food, so I decided to visit this restaurant. I arrived a little early and was able to get a table, but I think it's better to make a reservation just in case. I ordered various dishes a la carte, and both the sesame dressing and sweet and sour pork were delicious. The rice was really tasty, so I recommend ordering it first and eating it with the side dishes! (I added it later, so I regretted it a little)

Sueju Dining, located in Karuizawa, is known for its famous set menu of Shinshu miso simmered mackerel. One person ordered the stir-fried pork and vegetable in black vinegar set. We also shared a serving of hashed beef rice for some carbs, which was made with brown rice. Each dish was cooked individually in a pot, and the rice was especially delicious. The miso soup with enoki mushrooms and trefoil was a true taste of Japanese cuisine. The Shinshu miso simmered mackerel was flavorful and tender, not tough at all. The black vinegar stir-fry had the perfect taste. Lastly, the hashed beef rice had tender meat and refreshing pickled vegetables. The restaurant was quite busy even during weekday lunch hours. It was a great dining experience. Additionally, you can get free refills of rice and miso soup.

Located in Roppongi Midtown. It always seems crowded during the day and night. I recommend making a reservation if you don't want to wait. I visited at night. They have a set menu with soup and rice. I considered that as the finishing touch and ordered a la carte. The carpaccio was delicious with just the right thickness of amberjack. The sweet and sour pork seemed like a signature dish. So it's a must-have. If you can get in without waiting for lunch, it's a restaurant worth using.

This is a lovely restaurant where you can enjoy a meal while listening to jazz music in a spacious setting. The window seats overlook the cherry blossoms in Midtown, so it must be beautiful during cherry blossom season. The atmosphere is also very nice at night. I have been here several times, and I really like their olive and tuna tartare dish. The staff is friendly and the meals are delicious, with many dishes incorporating miso and vegetables. At the table next to mine, a French family was enjoying a classic meal of grilled fish, rice, and miso soup, using chopsticks, which was very stylish.

I always use Roppongi's Midtown, Sushigei. The big glass windows give a very open feeling and it's very pleasant. They offer unlimited rice and miso soup, so I always leave with a full stomach. You can choose your main dish, and I usually go for the fish which I don't eat often. It's rich and very delicious. The miso soup warms you up inside, so I always get seconds. You can choose between white rice and brown rice, so I am always satisfied.

I want to eat delicious kettle-cooked rice to my heart's content, so I visited a Japanese restaurant called "Suju" in Roppongi Midtown, where I have been many times before! This time, I visited for lunch! Since it was a Saturday, the restaurant was full and I had to wait for about 15 minutes. I sat at a table by the window with a great view. I ordered the grilled mackerel set meal. You can have unlimited refills of rice and miso soup! You can choose between white rice and brown rice. Since I arrived after 2:30 pm, the brown rice was already sold out. Brown rice is very popular, and I have visited for late lunch several times, but I have only been able to eat it once or twice (laughs). However, the white rice is also very delicious, so I am very satisfied! It's so happy to eat the plump and oily grilled mackerel with plenty of grated daikon and soy sauce, mixed with the fluffy and chewy kettle-cooked rice. I want to visit again soon! ♫

Lunchtime at Roppongi Midtown requires determination. On weekends and holidays, you have to put your name on a waiting list and patiently wait to be seated. One Saturday around 12:30, I decided to try my luck and found myself in third place on the waiting list at this restaurant. After waiting for about 5 minutes, I was shown to a table by the window with a view of the green park outside. It was a pleasant experience.
Originally, I didn't have a strong impression of Sushigei, as it was located at the entrance of the old Kurogane Ginza in Karuizawa, and I didn't find it particularly memorable. However, I consider it one of my favorite restaurants in Midtown, offering delicious meals for under 2,500 yen. So, my impression of Sushigei has changed for the better.
For this particular visit, I ordered the Sushigei Obanzai Assortment for 2,310 yen (tax included). This set required choosing a main dish from options such as grilled miso-marinated silver cod, seasonal sashimi, sautéed colorful vegetables with Shinshu pork in black vinegar, Shinshu miso simmered mackerel, or Shinshu Wagyu steak for an additional 330 yen (tax included). The set also included three side dishes: Shinshu bean and tomato salad, pumpkin with sesame miso, and seasonal vegetable rice with a choice of white or mixed grain rice, along with miso soup.
I opted for the sautéed colorful vegetables with Shinshu pork in black vinegar, while my companion chose the grilled miso-marinated silver cod. Both of us had mixed grain rice and found the meal to be healthy and satisfying. The side dishes were well-seasoned without being overpowering, and the pork in black vinegar was flavorful without being too heavy. The miso soup was generous and comforting, prompting us to ask for seconds. The rice was cooked to perfection, and the view from the window added to the overall enjoyable lunch experience at the Midtown Garden Terrace. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
