Around 9:30 am on a weekend, I visited a place that seemed to be located on the premises of Aoyama Gakuin University. It doesn't feel like you have to pass through a school gate to enter, more like a place you can casually wander into while passing by. At first glance, it looks like a flower shop. There are dried flowers displayed near the entrance. And beyond that is the cafe space. At this time, there were only 2-3 groups of customers, making it very quiet. You can choose your seat freely, and I chose a seat by the wall where I could see the entire shop. The spacious area with seats placed at a comfortable distance from each other gives a sense of openness, unlike the cramped feeling in cafes in the city. What surprised me was that the morning set here costs exactly 500 yen, which is the same price as at a cafe chain. The set includes thick toast (whipped butter served separately), boiled egg, salad, drink, and soup, all above average quality. The atmosphere, the price, and the attentive service from the staff make this a hidden gem for morning dining. I almost want to keep it a secret, but it's also important for them to have customers, so I'll share it. In this area, there are many trendy places that may make you hesitate to enter, but this place is indeed stylish yet you don't need to dress up to visit. Highly recommended for a solo morning outing.

This shop near Aoyama Gakuin University, not far from Omotesando Station, caught my eye with its delicious-looking pudding, but I decided to order taco rice for lunch! It was filled with plenty of vegetables and had a satisfying volume, making it a tasty and hearty meal. The interior of the shop was surprisingly spacious and had a great atmosphere, creating a sense of openness. I would definitely like to visit again.

Spacious interior! Each seat has a wide and open feel. I ordered the thick French toast and iced coffee. The toast is 4mm thick and cooked after ordering, with a texture like pudding. The iced coffee is perfect for hot summer days! The lunch and other desserts also looked delicious!

A calm and spacious cafe in Omotesando. I went around 2:00 pm on a holiday and was able to get in with just a short wait. Probably got lucky with the timing. After that, there was a long line of people waiting. But the cafe is really large, so maybe they have good turnover. The pudding and croissants were sold out.
- Cafe au lait (¥550)
- Thick French Toast (¥1,000) with ice topping (¥200) *Takes 20 minutes to bake
Everyone around me was eating these square things on a hot plate, so I got curious and ordered it. It was fluffy and gooey like pudding inside. It was hot and went really well with the ice cream.

I arrived before 1:00 PM. There were about 4 groups of customers ahead of me, but after 1:00 PM, more customers started to come in. I went for the French toast and ordered the iced topping French toast. The thick French toast with ice cream and maple syrup was excellent. The French toast was warm and the ice cream was cold, which was a great combination. The inside of the French toast was slightly undercooked, fluffy, and delicious.

You can enjoy drinking coffee slowly in a spacious area with large windows facing a narrow alley, offering a nice view. The homemade lemon juice had plenty of lemons and tasted delicious. The only downside was that the restroom was only on the second floor, which was a bit inconvenient, but the relaxed atmosphere on the first floor made up for it.

In the Omotesando/Aoyama area, which tends to be difficult for cafe refugees, this place is like an oasis. The spacious interior is beautifully furnished, exuding a sophisticated luxury. Tea time on Sundays can get crowded depending on the time, but they provide extra seating for waiting, so you can wait comfortably in air-conditioned comfort even in the summer. The famous French toast is fluffy and filling, really satisfying. It's the best.

Located on the side street next to Aoyama Gakuin University in Omotesando, Aoyama Gakuin Ivy Hall, on the first floor, is a spacious café called Chakado. I arrived at the store at 11:30 on a weekday, it was my first visit. The café can accommodate around 40 people with counter and table seating. There were about 10 customers already inside when I arrived, mostly groups of moms with about 15 people.
I ordered the popular menu item at Chakado, the Thick French Toast for 1000 yen, with an additional topping of whipped cream for 200 yen, and a Melon Soda for 800 yen. The toppings include whipped cream and ice cream. The thick French toast, served in a skillet, was about 5 cm tall. I added the whipped cream on top, then cut it with a knife and poured maple syrup over it. The toast was fluffy and creamy, with a hot skillet keeping it warm until the last bite.
Overall, it was a delicious meal. The last order for the French toast is at 17:20, and it takes about 20 minutes to bake.

(2023.06.04) The wedding venue "Aogaku Kaikan," which has a connection to Aoyama Gakuin University and opened in 1968, closed in March two years ago. However, due to the many voices of regret, it was given new life with the opening of cafes and restaurants in October of the same year. The space is stylish, using furniture and chandeliers from the former chapel, and has been a topic of interest. Located on the Aoyama campus, it is convenient to access without entering the university grounds. The interior is luxurious, with about 60 spacious seats lined up, and the decorations like the chandeliers give a sense of quality. Most of the customers seem to be women in their 20s, exuding an elegant atmosphere that may appeal to mature women. I tried the "Thick French Toast," which is the main attraction for most customers. Although there was a notice at the entrance saying it would take about 40-50 minutes due to preparation, I was fortunate to be served in just 20 minutes. The French toast, living up to its "thick" name with a thickness of about 50mm, satisfied visually. However, it seemed that the popularity may have caused the custard to not soak evenly throughout the bread, leaving it slightly dry, and there also appeared to be a shortage of custard. I also had the "Traditional Pudding," which, as the name suggests, was slightly firm but expertly steamed to achieve a smooth texture. Unfortunately, the service was lacking, from the way they walked to how they made eye contact and even the way they laughed. Basic training in these areas would be beneficial. Additionally, considering the ambiance, it was disappointing that water refills were self-service.

The place was open from the morning and had a nice spacious feel. Even though it was still before 10 am, the red bean croissant was sold out. I ordered a regular croissant and a latte. They were both delicious. The thick French toast looked tempting, but it takes about 20 minutes to bake, so I didn't have time to wait. I'll try it next time.

I visited this place for breakfast for the first time. It seems to be located within the Aoyama Gakuin University campus, on the first floor of Abbey Hall. It was around 9 o'clock and there were a few customers already. The atmosphere was calm. The best part was the croissant set that you can eat for just one coin. I quickly placed my order. However, what came out was a croissant sandwich set for 700 yen. Maybe the staff misheard my order. Well, it's okay, I decided to just go with it. The croissant was crispy and delicious. As I was eating, more and more customers came in. The seats were quickly filled up. Despite the mix-up, the sandwich set was just the right amount for me. Thank you for the meal.

Snack■ Thick French Toast ¥1,000 (tax included)■ Vanilla Ice Cream Topping ¥200 (tax included)■ Iced Coffee ¥500 (tax included)Located on the first floor of Ivy Hall next to Aoyama Gakuin University, Cafe Chakafedo. It's about a 5-6 minute walk from Omotesando Station. The spacious interior has about 60 seats, making it a rare large cafe in the Omotesando area. The seating is also wide, making it a comfortable place to relax. It may be a valuable find in the crowded cafe scene of Omotesando, especially on weekends. The must-order item is the cafe's signature menu item, the "Thick French Toast." It takes about 20 minutes to bake, so I leisurely wait with an iced coffee in hand. It arrives in about 20 minutes. As the name suggests, it is extremely thick, about the size of 3 slices of toast. The outside is crispy and fragrant, while the inside is soft and fluffy, making it quite delicious. Adding maple syrup or vanilla ice cream gives it a perfect balance of sweetness. The iced coffee is not the trendy third wave style, but rather quite strong, which is also appreciated. Due to its thickness, it's best to enjoy it more as a meal than a dessert, especially when you're hungry.

It's a large cafe in Seirin High School. The interior is spacious. There are big tables that are easy for solo customers as well. I was a little hungry, so I ordered a croissant sandwich and a cafe au lait. The thick French toast seems to be popular here. The menu is limited, but they offer both meals and cakes. They have a wide variety of drinks! The croissants are baked in-house. The sandwich had big tomatoes, lettuce, and bacon in it. I prefer cafe lattes over cafe au laits, so it was a bit disappointing that they didn't have lattes. I visited on the weekend and was able to relax. I would like to go back to try their cakes next time.

The interior of the restaurant is stylish with a spacious layout, but due to the design or the clientele, the voices echo and it lacks a calming atmosphere. Despite the table seats being almost full, dirty dishes are left on long tables and the staff are chatting. The food was neither good nor bad.

I visited the restaurant around 11 o'clock on Sunday. It is located a little off the main street in Omotesando or Aoyama. The exterior of the restaurant is all glass, with a wide entrance, and it has a simple and stylish design. Inside, the restaurant is spacious with only table seating, and the atmosphere is calm and sophisticated.
I ordered the Thick French Toast for 1000 yen, with an additional vanilla topping for 200 yen. The thick French toast was served in a skillet, and it looked fluffy and delicious. The vanilla ice cream topping was served on a separate plate. The visual presentation was outstanding, with a slight brown crust on the surface.
When I cut into the French toast, the fluffy and soft texture was evident, and the aroma of eggs, milk, and butter filled my mouth. The taste was amazing, with a perfect balance of sweetness and a fluffy and creamy texture. Even without the topping, the French toast was delicious. It was not too sweet, and the balance between the fluffy and creamy texture was perfect. The thick French toast brought happiness with its classic taste. It was a very delicious French toast.

A spacious cafe right next to Seiryo University! Recommended: French toast with ice cream and blended coffee. Visited around 3pm on a weekday. It looked empty at first, but had to wait about 20 minutes after writing down my name. The French toast took 20 minutes to cook, but when it arrived, it was piping hot with maple syrup on top and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The combination of "warm" and "cold" is really delicious! The texture is so fluffy, but I love the crispy surface. The eggs soaked in perfectly. I left feeling very full!

I sat at the counter of the cafe attached to Aoyama Gakuin University and ordered "French toast with whipped cream and iced coffee." I was informed that the thick French toast would take about 20 minutes to prepare. While waiting, I enjoyed a rich and delicious iced coffee. When the French toast arrived, it was fluffy and soft. Thank you for the meal, and thank you very much.

As stated on the menu, the order is carefully baked for 20 minutes before being served, resulting in a very fluffy texture. The whipped cream topping is served separately and melts quickly when placed on top, becoming creamy in no time. It's delicious, but adding it little by little allows you to fully appreciate the softness of the bread and the fluffiness of the cream.

Today, I went to a lunch with members of a business community that I am a part of. We went to a cafe next to Aoyama Gakuin, and before we knew it, 3 hours had passed! I had taco rice for lunch. The menu was stylish, just like the cafe itself. On weekdays, they offer lunch sets with drinks, but on Sundays, I just had the taco rice on its own. It seems like this place has a vegan focus, as most of the other dishes were vegan. Well, as long as it's delicious, that's what matters. Taste is very important, but so is the atmosphere. However, the most important thing is who you are eating with. I would give it a recommendation score of 75 points.

In February, after having lunch in Shinjuku, I moved to Shibuya to visit the HoneyWorks exhibition. I decided to have something sweet on the way. I found a cafe called Chakado near Aoyama Gakuin, where there was a line but since I was alone, I was seated at the counter right away. The French toast I ordered required a 20-minute wait, but it was worth it. It was served hot in a skillet, fluffy and soaked with egg mixture, thick yet gooey inside. It was perfect with the hot bread and cold ice cream. Even without the ice cream, the French toast itself was delicious, but with it, it was even better. I recommend this place because the food was really good.
