I will introduce a tonkatsu restaurant located near the east exit of Chofu Station on the Keio Line. There are ramen shops, curry shops, and izakaya around this tonkatsu restaurant, making it a great place to enjoy lunch. The tonkatsu set meal for 880 yen is the specialty here, and it caught my attention as soon as I saw it on the signboard. In addition to the lunch menu, they also offer garlic cutlet set meals made with black pork from Kagoshima Prefecture and sweet pork from Chiba Prefecture, making it a tough choice. In the end, I decided to order the hirekatsu set meal with 130g of meat. Unfortunately, rice and cabbage refills are not free, so please keep that in mind. Considering the price and menu options, the lunch menu seems like a good deal.

I had lunch at "Butachinkan," located about a 1-minute walk from Chofu Station. It was my first time, so I ordered the most delicious-looking "Special Pork Cutlet Set." I may have had too high expectations, but the tonkatsu did not seem like it was from a tonkatsu specialty store. The breading was not crispy at all and easily peeled off from the meat. The shredded cabbage was not finely cut at all, which surprised me. Most of all, the sauce tasted like Worcestershire sauce and was not tasty, which was disappointing. I have posted many reviews before, but this is the first time I have given a "1" for the food and taste.

A popular tonkatsu restaurant in Chofu, Tokyo. As soon as it opens at 11:40, eager customers flock to this bustling establishment. The lunch special at "Buta Chinkan" is the Katsu Set Meal for 880 yen. The restaurant opens at 11:40, not 11:30. Is there a secret behind this timing? People with empty stomachs rush in as soon as the doors open, and by noon, the place is packed with customers. I ordered the Katsu Set Meal, which was prominently displayed outside the restaurant. I thought it might take a while for the food to be ready due to the sudden influx of customers, but surprisingly, it arrived in about 10 minutes. The meal consisted of a 110g pork loin cutlet, rice, miso soup, and pickles. It's a classic tonkatsu set. Due to the lunch special pricing, you cannot get extra rice or cabbage refills. The freshly fried pork cutlet was crispy and delicious, with a hint of lard aroma. The white rice paired perfectly with the savory sauce. There is also curry salt available, but I recommend sticking with the sauce for this tonkatsu. The sauce also goes well with the shredded cabbage. The miso soup had comforting wakame seaweed in a red broth. Eating the rice with the red miso and soy sauce pickles was irresistible. The 110g pork loin cutlet was more filling than expected, providing a satisfying meal. Enjoying the hearty Katsu Set Meal at lunchtime gives you the energy to tackle the rest of the day!

I wanted to have curry with pork cutlet for lunch, but when I went in, I found out that only pork cutlet set was available. My excitement dropped by 25%, but I decided to go ahead and ordered the pork cutlet set. I was surprised when the pork cutlet arrived quickly, it was thin and not very filling. You can tell from the wavy texture in the photo. Considering the price, it was okay. Despite the appearance, the taste was decent. I think this pork cutlet would be fine for curry too. Unfortunately, curry is not available on the menu other than during lunch hours.

The pork cutlet set meal here has a crispy and thin coating, with a thick and juicy meat. Compared to other tonkatsu restaurants, I felt that the fat content was lower. I preferred this because it was easier to eat and enjoy the meat fully due to the thin coating.

Near Chofu Station, there are surprisingly many tonkatsu restaurants. I always thought about stopping by but never had the chance to go. Today happened to be lunchtime, so I went to Butagin-kan for my first visit! Now, what should I order? Should I go for the Katsu set on the lunch menu? Or maybe the limited quantity Menchi Katsu? But in the end, I decided to go for the classic since it's my first visit... The Katsu set (880 yen). The food came out so quickly! The thinness of the meat might be the secret to their fast service. The crispy texture was nice, but I couldn't really taste the meat. Maybe I should have gone for the Menchi Katsu after all. Oh well, it was still a decent meal.

Visited around 19:30 on a regular day. Ordered the special premium pork cutlet set for 1550 yen. The batter had too much oil and was sweet, causing it to come off easily with the meat juice. The meat was also firm and chewy. I thought it was a great deal for a premium quality, but I probably won't visit again compared to other tonkatsu places in the same price range. If you happen to be nearby, give it a try.

I visited for lunch at a tonkatsu restaurant called Higashiguchi in front of Chofu Station. It seems to be a chain restaurant. They have recommended brand pork and various delicious menus. I went there specifically for the 700 yen katsu set meal. There's nothing to complain about, so I'll definitely come back next time to try something else.

No.3303. Closest to the north exit of Chofu Station on the Keio Line. This area is known for its famous tonkatsu restaurant, Tonchin-kan. Hmm, isn't this tonkatsu restaurant located in a hidden place near Futada Station? I'm not quite sure, but I remember vaguely. I visited during lunchtime. Hmm, the interior of the restaurant... it was quite different from the image of a typical tonkatsu restaurant, more like a restaurant bar. It felt like the man in the kitchen, who seemed to be the owner, was putting his heart into cooking for his customers. ●Lunch Katsu Set● 700 yen. During lunchtime, you can enjoy tonkatsu at a great price. However, the quantity is limited, so it's recommended to visit early. The lunch set uses 150g of pork loin, so if you feel it's not enough, please order from the regular menu. Ah... delicious! The pork loin is clearly fried in lard! It's a bit small at 150g, but the taste is real! The crispy texture of the breaded coating and the juicy flavor of the aged pork loin... it's irresistible.

This is a tonkatsu restaurant located in front of Chofu Station (East Exit). Although the store is labeled as the "East Exit Store", the original store located in Tenjin-dori Shotengai has already closed, so there are no sister stores. The restaurant has an old-fashioned coffee shop vibe, with a building that shows its age. Inside, J-POP music plays through a wired system, which may feel out of place. I visited on a hot evening and initially considered leaving due to the extreme heat inside the store. However, the owner noticed and turned on the air conditioning, but it would have been better to have it set up before opening, especially in such hot weather. Prices on the menu are listed excluding tax, which I didn't realize until it was time to pay. It would be a good idea to include the tax-inclusive prices on the menu. The restaurant has a rating of 3.41 on Tabelog, which is the second highest in the tonkatsu category in Chofu. The lunch tonkatsu is priced at 700 yen (excluding tax), while the evening rosukatsu tonkatsu is 1150 yen (excluding tax), making it a reasonably priced option. There are various types of rosukatsu sets available, such as "Rosukatsu Teishoku", "Tokujou Rosukatsu Teishoku", "Kurobuta Rosukatsu Teishoku", and "Mira Buta Rosukatsu Teishoku". In addition to tonkatsu, they also offer cream croquettes and white fish fry sets. It may be difficult to use this restaurant as an izakaya due to its atmosphere. The Rosukatsu Teishoku, priced at 1265 yen (including tax), features a 160g domestic pork loin with a decent portion size. The meat has less fat compared to cheaper chain stores, making it higher in quality. The sauce used is closer to Worcestershire sauce, which may divide opinions. The cabbage is roughly cut, but it enhances the flavor of the cabbage. The meal comes with pickles and miso soup. Payment can be made using PayPay.

Today, I decided to cheat on my usual favorite tonkatsu restaurant in Chofu and try the 2nd ranked restaurant on Tabelog. The atmosphere inside was dark and had an old-fashioned izakaya vibe. I ordered the Special Pork Loin Katsu Set for 1550 yen. The cabbage was roughly chopped into thick slices, which was disappointing. And the sauce was a surprisingly strange Worcestershire sauce. Tonkatsu with Worcestershire sauce? It really brought down my excitement. The rice portion was average, like a small rice at a regular restaurant. The miso soup was made with red miso and had a strange taste. Overall, the meal was neither expensive nor cheap, but the Worcestershire sauce was a huge disappointment. Honestly, I don't think I'll be coming back. The cabbage, Worcestershire sauce, rice portion, and miso soup were all disappointing. The tonkatsu itself lacked flavor and the breading wasn't crispy, more like a homemade tonkatsu. Next time, I'll definitely go back to my favorite place, Katsu Moto.

After visiting Futamata Tenjin Shrine in Chofu City for the first shrine visit of the year, I had lunch at "Butachinkan" restaurant. As of 3:00 PM on January 4, 2022, the restaurant was energetically open for business, despite being listed as "publication pending" on Tabelog. Although they had a lunch menu, I decided to start the year with the "Special Pork Loin Cutlet Set (1,705 yen)" and a beer. The overwhelming size of the 250g cutlet was impressive. The pork loin, made from domestic pork, was tender with a perfect balance of lean meat and fat. It was delicious with salt and tonkatsu sauce, and it was also interesting to sprinkle the special curry powder provided on the table. While the coating didn't leave a lasting impression, the flavor and portion size provided a satisfying experience! By the way, it seems that this restaurant is not related to the tonkatsu restaurant of the same name in Shinjuku. Thank you for the meal.

Today, due to work, I had lunch near Chofu Station and visited this tonkatsu restaurant for the first time. This time, I chose the classic pork cutlet set meal. The meat was quite thick. The sauce was a bit on the liquid side. Personally, I prefer it to be a bit thicker. The cabbage didn't have any dressing on it. There was curry powder available on the table, and when I tried it on the tonkatsu, it was quite delicious. Maybe even better than the sauce. I couldn't really taste much sweetness in the pork fat, which was a bit disappointing.

I ordered the special premium pork cutlet set for 1705 yen including tax. The cutlet was thick, about 5 centimeters, and although the meat was tender, it had little fat and a mild flavor. I poured the sauce generously over it. The breading was a bit disappointing as it tended to peel off. If that's the case, I should have gone for a premium brand like Iberico or Kurobuta from the start.

When I went to Chofu for work, I heard that there was a popular tonkatsu restaurant in Chofu, so I decided to look it up and go there. The restaurant is located on the back side of the station, but it's in a great location right in front of the station exit. There are many popular ramen shops nearby, creating a nice atmosphere filled with delicious smells. I went for lunch on a Saturday and the place was almost full, with a diverse crowd including families, elderly couples drinking beer, solo diners of all ages, showing that the restaurant is loved by a wide range of people. I ordered the "Special Premium Pork Cutlet Set". It took longer than expected, probably due to the crowd, but overall, the tonkatsu was just okay. To be honest, I don't think it falls into the category of "delicious tonkatsu". It's definitely not bad, just a normal tasty tonkatsu. However, I didn't feel anything exceptional about it. I have two minor complaints. First, as you can see in my photo, there was too much fatty part. I ordered the "Special Premium" pork cutlet, but having over half of it be fatty seemed a bit much for something claiming to be "special premium". Another issue was the inconsistency in the size of the cuts. Some were too thick to eat in one bite, while others were too thin and left me wanting more. I believe that the way a tonkatsu is cut is very important. The difference between Western-style Milanese cutlet and Japanese-style tonkatsu lies in whether it is cut or not. In that sense, the restaurant seemed quite careless in this aspect. It was really disappointing. Also, the sauce. The sauce provided on the table was thin and almost like regular Worcestershire sauce. This might be a matter of personal preference, but I prefer to eat tonkatsu with a rich tonkatsu sauce. It was a letdown that they only had a tangy and light Worcestershire sauce-like sauce. Well, these are all just my personal opinions and preferences, so please take them as such.

It's Wednesday in Chofu. After finishing my errands in the morning and returning to the station, it was 1:00 pm. I decided to search for a place to have lunch and ended up here. Upon entering the restaurant, the staff quickly cleaned up and guided me to a two-person table. I had already decided on my order before coming, so I asked for the Negi Miso Katsu for 880 yen. The kitchen and the hall each had one person, so it took quite a while. Finally, after about 15 minutes, the dish was served. They told me to enjoy it as it is without adding anything. The katsu with miso sauce had a thin and easily peeling coating. The coating itself was crispy, but the oil felt heavy. The miso was quite salty, maybe because I was used to sweeter sauces. The miso soup was just ordinary with seaweed in red dashi broth. I would have been happier if it had clams in it. I enjoyed the cabbage with sauce on top. Having tried tonkatsu from famous restaurants before, I couldn't help but compare, and it felt a bit lacking. Perhaps if the miso was sweeter, it would have been different. Well, everyone has their own preferences. Now, let's do our best for the rest of the afternoon.

Today, the weather is rainy nationwide, and in Chofu, the rain and wind are strong, so I don't want to go far! Therefore, I decided to have tonkatsu lunch at Tonchinkan in front of Chofu Station East Exit. The menu is overall expensive, and I always feel that the threshold is a bit high. However, the lunch is only 730 yen, which is very reasonable. I enjoyed it deliciously today as well. Thank you for the meal!

We went to a tonkatsu restaurant in the Chofu area after a long wait at Bic Camera for our family of four to switch smartphones, which took much longer than expected. By the time we finished at around 3:00 pm, we were all starving and decided to have lunch. The lunch menu was already over, but we were too tired to look for another place, so we decided to stay. We ordered the Chiba pork loin set meal, which was only 100 yen more than the regular pork loin set meal. The food arrived in about 10 minutes, and the Chiba pork loin was delicious, juicy, and flavorful. The meat was tender, and the breading was crispy. The sauce complemented the dish well, and even though we tried the curry powder, the sauce was better. The staff was already preparing for dinner service, and they were refilling the sauce containers, which seemed to be the restaurant's original sauce. Despite the low ratings on Tabelog, we found the food to be very satisfying and delicious. Overall, we had a great dining experience and would love to try the black pork loin set meal next time.

Finally went to visit the restaurant that I always passed by but never tried. I had the pork cutlet set for lunch. The cutlet was thick, about 2 centimeters, with little fat and tender meat. It was delicious. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was not like a typical tonkatsu place, but more like an Italian vibe. The name of the restaurant, "豚珍館" (Pig's Rare Hall), was also charming. I would like to go back again.

I suddenly had a craving for tonkatsu and searched for it in the Chofu area, where I found this place. Although there is a popular tonkatsu restaurant called "Tonchinkan" in Shinjuku, this one seems to be unrelated to that.
I ordered the "katsu set meal" for 730 yen, which is significantly more affordable compared to other menu items. The tonkatsu had a thin, crispy coating that was nicely browned. The texture of the coating was crunchy and satisfying! The meat was firm but had a simple, mild flavor. I tried sprinkling some curry powder provided on the table onto the tonkatsu, and surprisingly, it complemented the sauce well. The 120g loin cutlet was just the right size to leave me feeling satisfied but not overly full. While the tonkatsu didn't leave a strong impression in terms of meat quality, I enjoyed the coating, so I'd like to try a higher-grade tonkatsu next time. Also, the shrimp fry displayed as a food sample at the storefront was quite large, and it seemed to be a recommended menu item, so I'm quite curious about it. I'd like to visit again to try a different menu. Thank you for the meal.
