I visited Kururu no Mori for the first time since last August! Despite being after Golden Week, I made a reservation as it is usually crowded, but there seemed to be a bit of space at the tables. Last time, due to the impact of the pandemic, the individual servings were reduced and the price was 1400 yen, but starting from April, they have returned to serving on large plates with a variety of dishes, so the price has gone back up to 1800 yen. Honestly, it feels like it might be going against the current situation with the pandemic, but I am happy to see more variety in the dishes. Some of the main differences from last time include... - Rice... Previously, you had to ask the staff for white rice or mixed grain rice, now they offer a buffet with white rice, mixed grain rice, brown rice, and mixed rice. - Bread... There was none before, now they have a buffet with croissant rusks, individually wrapped table rolls, mini bread rolls, and croissants. - Salad... Previously only a set assortment, now you can choose your favorite vegetables as much as you like. - Side dishes, light meals... Around 10 items before, now around 15 items. - Desserts... Previously only 2 types of gelato and 2 types of sweets, now 3 types of gelato, 5 types of sweets, and hachiyas. Despite the increase in price, I still enjoyed the variety of dishes, including corn tempura, chicken and vegetable cream stew, chawanmushi, salad, hearty miso soup, black sesame cake, pudding, gelato, and more. The return of croissant rusks, mixed rice, fried rice, and other favorites was also a pleasant surprise. At the dessert corner, I made sure to try everything, including the kinako (roasted soybean flour) and kuromitsu (black sugar syrup) that were not available last time. By the way, I recommend stirring the gelato before eating to enhance the flavor. It may not be flashy, but it is definitely a delicious and reliable buffet experience. Thank you for the meal.
