There is a tuna bowl (1200 yen) with fish placed on top. A miso soup is served as well. As the tuna is being placed on the rice from the showcase, a customer without a mask appears... What should be done... The cold negitoro, which is not thawed, collides with the hot rice... What should be done... The shiso leaves are topped with gloves that touched money... What should be done... It felt expensive.

Located a 2-minute walk from Higashiyama Station on the Kyoto Municipal Subway, this ordinary fish store is easily recognizable by its large wooden sign on the left side of the shopping street. As I entered, I was greeted by the staff who asked if I wanted a rice bowl, as it was just 30 minutes before closing time and they were only serving customers at the back of the first floor. I ordered the "Uomatsu Nokke Don" for 1000 yen including tax, paid, and found a seat at a table. I then selected the toppings for my bowl from a refrigerated case, each with a designated coin value, totaling 10 coins. The chef explained each topping as I chose them, including tuna, red shrimp, yellowtail, salmon roe, octopus, and negitoro. The bowl also came with a fish soup. The tuna, salmon roe, and red shrimp were particularly delicious. While the cost-performance ratio was average, the ability to customize my own bowl was enjoyable. I would definitely consider visiting again.

I went to the newly reopened shopping street in Furukawa Town where they have a place to eat now. They offer a variety of seafood bowls, but I chose to customize my own bowl at Donburi Uomatsu. I opted for the "Donburi Uomatsu Special" for 1500 yen, which allowed me to choose 16 pieces of fish to be placed on top of rice. I selected bonito, salmon, sea bream, amberjack, and bluefin tuna among others. The bowl also came with fish miso soup which was delicious. I appreciated being able to choose my own ingredients since I have a lot of food preferences.

Seafood bowl restaurant with a fish market vibe. The sashimi is delicious, but at 1,000 yen, it's not really worth the price.
