みろみろ
Early December 2011. A large chain restaurant that I would never choose myself. Located in Narimasu or Wako City, with seating for 20 people, filled with businessmen, so we chose a Japanese izakaya with all-you-can-drink to keep the cost as low as possible. It was an early year-end party. The reservation was made in November, and it seemed to have a discount for early booking. I only paid for a portion of it, so I'm not sure, but it was a course meal for either 2500 yen or 3000 yen with a 1500 yen all-you-can-drink option. Normally for 2 hours, but this one started at 4 pm, so it was a 3-hour party. And it was on the first Sunday of December. A combination of "early booking" and "early start discount." It's nice that there are various discounts depending on the conditions. Located right near the south exit of Narimasu, in a clean building on the first floor of a pachinko parlor. The food included avocado and shrimp salad, whole sea bream, assorted sashimi, salt hot pot, roast beef, assorted tempura, gratin, and pound cake. The salad had fresh shrimp and a delicious sauce. The sea bream was served as half a fish but the meat was sliced. The sashimi platter had salmon, mackerel, kanpachi, abalone, and botanebi. The shrimp was delicious. The salt hot pot had duck, tsukune, sea bream, Chinese cabbage, and negi. The table had an integrated IH stove, which was convenient. The duck was okay, but the tsukune was delicious. It ended with a porridge. The roast beef was served with grated ponzu. The tempura included crab claws, shishito peppers, yam, and nasu. Served with matcha salt. The gratin was topped with sea urchin, ikura, broccoli, and macaroni, with a thick French bread on the side. The drinks menu for the all-you-can-drink option (1500 yen) included draft beer, bottled beer (Asahi Super Dry), cocktails, a variety of sweet and sour drinks, about 4 types of highball, sake, wine, shochu (sweet potato, barley, awamori), and whiskey. They even had 12-year-old Sea Breeze from the foothills of Mount Fuji! This was a great surprise. The early start time and the fact that it was not crowded made everything smooth. The banquet meal manual was well organized, showing the professionalism of a large chain restaurant. The staff, about 4 people, were smiling and provided good service even at a lively party. They didn't rush us and we could relax. The spacious tatami room had sunken kotatsu tables and of course, there was a call button on the table. The toilet was clean and spacious. The overall decor was relaxing and not too busy. The service was also relaxed and not too pushy. It may not be suitable for young groups who want to eat a lot, but the well-arranged presentation of the dishes may make the portion size less noticeable. As expected from a place called "Sakanaya Dojo," the menu was mainly focused on fish and quite delicious. If you don't mind a fish-focused meal and don't care much about the volume, I recommend this place for a large group party in Narimasu.
In early December 2012, we had our second year-end party here, making it two years in a row. It seems that there are not many convenient and large-scale restaurants in Narimasu for such occasions. This year, it was on a Saturday with 40 people, and the reservation process was the same as last year. Surprisingly, the menu was almost the same as last year. Steamed chicken salad with sea bream head, half portion sashimi, assorted sashimi, salted chicken hot pot, assorted tempura, shrimp chili, fried chicken, and pound cake.
