A friend from Tokyo recommended me to visit Criollo, saying that it was delicious. I didn't have many opportunities to go there, but since I had work in Naka-Meguro on this day, I decided that I had to go. I had already made a reservation over the phone for their Gaia and Nirvana, which were highly recommended. However, when I arrived, there seemed to be some confusion as my reservation didn't go through. Luckily, they had the items in stock and I was able to purchase them anyway. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was great, so I didn't feel upset about the mix-up. It just goes to show that human errors can happen, but it's how a restaurant handles them that really matters. I ended up choosing a standard Mont Blanc from their extensive menu, and it was incredibly delicious. The texture and composition of the Gaia were exceptional, while the Nirvana truly lived up to its name. As for the Mont Blanc, having visited many chestnut-producing regions recently, I found the refined flavor quite elegant compared to the strong taste I had grown accustomed to. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I look forward to trying their other offerings in the future. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

This place is definitely one of my top 3 favorite cake shops in Tokyo! The Nirvana cake has a perfect combination of rich raspberry and chocolate, not overly sweet at all! I personally prefer a bit more tartness though... The Mont Blanc is a rich chestnut cake with a hint of rum, perfect for adult tastes! The meringue base adds a crunchy texture that is enjoyable!

The takeout cake had a delicious harmony of berry and nut flavors. The store was small, but the staff's hospitality was great. I want to become a repeat customer. I also want to try other sweets besides cake.

On Wednesday around 11:30 am, I left Naka-Meguro Station and found Cléoro just across the Kandai Street. It was a small retail-style store with a limited menu compared to the larger store in Koyasumigahara. There was only one person ahead of me in line. I quickly got my turn, and although I considered getting the cheesecake, I ended up choosing the Choux à la Crème for 420 yen for takeout. I enjoyed it on a bench in the park along the Meguro River, and as expected, it was delicious! Sweet treats like this from overseas are perfect for hot days like that. Thank you for the meal ^ ^ I will definitely be going back!

I visited Criollo in Nakameguro. It's a shop right across from the station. They only offer take-out. They are having a Mont Blanc Fair from 9/15 to 10/2 this year. I bought a traditional Mont Blanc for the first time. It had rum in it, which was a nice touch. It had a mature flavor and was delicious. The base was not sponge cake, but only meringue. They offer reservations if you contact them the day before. I recommend making a reservation if you definitely want to get one. Next time, I plan to buy their ice cream.

After finishing a meeting with a client in the Naka-meguro area, I was planning to head back to the office right away when I remembered that there was a famous patisserie nearby. I had seen a long line outside before and gave up, but this time... it was empty! So I decided to go in.①The shop is just a 1-minute walk from Naka-meguro station, right across the pedestrian crossing on the right-hand side. There is a sign outside advertising the "phantom cheesecake," which was a bit off-putting. The storefront could use a more elegant appeal. Inside, the shop is small but clean, bright, and well-organized.②I couldn't buy fresh pastries to bring back, so I purchased a set of baked goods. The box included a yo-yo macaron, matcha macaron, Gaia macaron, vanilla-caramel macaron, chocolate macaron, orange biscuit, and dome bombe. They were all quite sweet, with distinct flavors and a good balance. While the packaging was simple and lacked a sense of luxury, the pastries were rich and satisfying. The shop also offers a variety of longer-lasting sweets like biscuits and jellies, making it convenient for gifts.③Despite being a small shop, there were three female staff members who provided attentive service. They were friendly and knew how to recommend their pastries well. The checkout process was smooth, and I had no complaints about the service.④The patisserie's location near Naka-meguro station and the reasonable price of around 300 yen per pastry make it a convenient choice. The pastries were a bit too sweet for my taste, but they left a refined aftertaste. The overall atmosphere of the shop, the service from the staff, and the value for money were all good.⑤I would like to try their cheesecake next time.

I visited the popular patisserie Cléole in front of Naka-Meguro Station. Although their cheesecake is popular, I tried the seasonal limited edition Lure Mango this time. It was a mango-filled roll cake and it was delicious. I would like to try other varieties next time. Thank you for the meal!

On this day, a friend bought me a limited edition cake from Criolo in Naka-Meguro. What I received was the limited edition Tresor Matcha Marron. Made by Chef Santos, a French pastry chef of approximately 30 years in Japan, this chocolate cake uses matcha and chestnuts. The creamy ganache and rich chocolate flavor of the moist sponge cake are of top quality, unique to the chef. This cake, made with Japanese ingredients, is recommended to be enjoyed with tea. I tried it with both cold tea and iced coffee, and it was delicious either way.

Sweets TOKYO Top 100 Shops 93/100
Located in front of Naka-Meguro Station, the purchasing space in front of the showcase is narrow, utilizing vertical space for display. The shop feels like it has packed in elements of a cake shop tightly. Three staff members provide service, and after payment, they come out from behind the counter to hand over the products at the exit, showing great consideration. They also kindly ask you to take your time to take photos.
[Dome Citron] ¥300 - Shelf life: 2 weeks
A round dome-shaped sweet with lemon peel, giving it an authentic taste. It is moist, slightly chewy, and satisfying to eat. A delightful treat to have.
[Florentine Raspberry] ¥330 - Shelf life: over 1 month
Topped with pistachios, the contrast between red and green is beautiful. An uncommon combination of Florentine and raspberry. The nougat part has just the right hardness, and the acidity and sweetness of the raspberry are deliciously balanced. It is a recommended item for gifts as it has a good shelf life.
Although the shop has a more limited selection compared to the main store, it is an ideal place to purchase souvenirs. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I also post on Instagram ▷@_currynyann_ I had the chance to go to Nakameguro, so I stopped by on the way back. I had it before and it was delicious, so I returned again. ・Hontou no cheesecake 1,500 yen. Proven to have sold 2,000 in 10 minutes! Fluffy souffle type, light and disappears as soon as you put it in your mouth. It's not heavy, so you end up eating a lot without realizing it ♡ Mont Blanc is famous... I think I'll buy that next time ===========

A 1-minute walk from Naka-Meguro Station. I was looking for a birthday cake for my friend when I found out about the seasonal fruit tart at this shop and decided to visit. My friend made a reservation, and it was convenient that you could easily make cake reservations online. The seasonal tart during this time was made with peaches. The website mentioned that the prices for seasonal tarts vary depending on the fruits used, so it's best to inquire when making a reservation. The peach tart was a whole 18 cm for just under 5,000 yen. The tart had a crispy crust with an almond base, and there were plenty of peaches on top. The peaches were generously cut and juicy, making them delicious. I think simple is best for peach cakes. The cheesecake is also popular, so I would like to try that next time.

Tart at Criollo Naka-Meguro. For the gourmet group birthday party we held at Koshoen, we prepared a peach tart from Criollo Naka-Meguro. Thank you for the great recommendation! The birthday party was on a Tuesday, and since many patisseries are closed on Tuesdays, we were restricted in our options but Criollo was open, which was a relief! I want to go to the main store in Kotake-Mukaihara, but the Naka-Meguro store is more convenient to visit, especially when ordering whole cakes! It's also nice that it's close to the station. This time, we chose the peach tart because it was a seasonal item and looked so cute. When we saw it in person, there was a huge amount of peach on top. It was amazing! When we tasted it, the peach was incredibly sweet. Usually, fruit on cakes tends to be sour, but this peach was really sweet and delicious. Of course, the tart crust was of Criollo quality - crunchy, tasty, and the balance with the peach was great. High-level stuff! Happy birthday, Rei-san!

I had been intrigued by Crio's sweets in Nakameguro for a while, so I decided to give it a try. The chocolate was rich and the cake was moist, with each treat having a distinct flavor. Personally, I think they go perfectly with black coffee – just the right level of richness. They also pair well with tea – these sweets have a universal appeal. I definitely want to try their cakes next time.

My favorite cake shop in Nakameguro! I always use it for celebrating with my family, friends, and acquaintances. The main guest this time loves chocolate, so I chose Praline Noisette. I've never tasted such a rich and moist chocolate cream before! The texture is crispy and delicious! The main guest was also very pleased! Another good thing about this shop is that the customer service is very polite. I will definitely use it again for celebrations in the future!

The elusive cheesecake that sold 2000 pieces in just 10 minutes and was featured in various media outlets was indeed delicious! I would love to use it as a small gift.
Order:
- Elusive Cheesecake 1500 yen
Fluffy and foamy cheese with a firm sweetness. One of the best flavors I've tasted. I could easily finish a whole piece on my own. The cost performance is also good for the taste.
Miscellaneous:
The staff members were polite and had smiles on their faces. This patisserie is run by the French chef Santos Antoine who has won various awards. He has also won awards as a chocolatier. As you can see, the other cakes look delicious as well. Looking forward to trying other sweets too.

I ordered a few cakes to go, and they were all so cute and delicious. Looking at them alone made me excited. The cakes were really tasty, with a slightly more grown-up flavor that paired well with coffee.

Nakameguro Part 3... Recently, I had multiple meetings in Nakameguro, and here is the third installment! The meeting was over by 3 PM. Feeling hungry, I looked around under the guard of Tsutaya for something to eat, but there was nothing available. I checked on Tabelog but couldn't find any restaurants I wanted to visit at this time. As I crossed over to the Atre Tower side, the words "phantom cheesecake" caught my eye. Setting the bar high there (laughs). Upon researching, I found out it was a well-known shop. Alright, I'll buy it for my colleagues to take back! I gave up on having a meal. Back at the office, I tried to slice and share the cheesecake, but was shocked! It was too soft to be divided (laughs). I carefully cut and shared it, then took a bite! It melted in my mouth! Huh? Oh? This is amazing! Well, you could say it's like a souffle, but if it's a warm, freshly made souffle, that's understandable. This one was cold. And it can last for 3 days? 4 days? Incredible. And the texture! As expected, a shop that makes it to the top 100 must have a good reason. It was truly wonderful! Thank you for the feast!

It's a Wednesday with cloudy skies, but the muggy heat is unavoidable. After finishing my errands, I bought the following cakes as a treat for my wife who is working from home today:
- "Nunoosu Junior (Tanabata)" - 630 yen
A popular cake in a Tanabata version. Three types of chocolate are used, with a well-balanced sweetness. The unique transition of various textures, including a light and smooth fluffiness, and a crunchy texture, was enjoyable.
- "Nirvana" - 650 yen
A cake with blackberry tea mousse and blackberry jelly that brings a unique sweetness and acidity, balanced perfectly with the smooth sweetness of chocolate.
- "Mont Blanc" - 720 yen
A cream chestnut with rum cream and chestnut mousse inside. The use of chocolate-coated meringue as a base provides a crispy texture. It was my first time visiting this place, although I had previously been to CRIORO Tokyo Honten near Kotake-Mukaihara Station. The shop may not be spacious, but its high convenience near Naka-Meguro Station and consistent delicious cakes make me want to visit again when buying souvenirs. Thank you for the delicious cakes.

Monthly birthday benefits (1 piece of baked confectionery & 3 times points) were used, so after a rushed visit, I had to buy baked confectionery and jelly instead of a birthday cake. The overall taste is moist and buttery, with a lingering sweetness on the palate, which I like. The Citron Dome (birthday benefit) is incredibly delicious, I want to buy it again every time. The financiers are good with Earl Grey, and the caramel is quite tasty. The macarons are best with matcha flavor. Gaia's cakes are delicious, but the ice cream and macarons are a bit lacking. I know the jelly is delicious, but it's a bit pricey, so it's a nice treat. A great option for those tired of standard department store gifts. Originally planned to eat it myself, but changed it to a birthday present for my mother-in-law. Suble Fromage is not that great.

The store is small, but they have a wide variety of cakes, and all of them look very enticing! I was particularly interested in the cakes selected as sweets that you would want to preserve for 1000 years, as well as the cake shaped like a bear's face. Unfortunately, I couldn't buy any delicate cakes since I had plans to go out afterwards. As I glanced at the signboard, I noticed a "phantom cheesecake" that had sold 2000 pieces in just 10 minutes - I wondered if they still had it in stock. And they did! I decided to buy it. The phantom cheesecake was priced at 1500 yen per piece, which was surprisingly affordable! When taking it home, it was in a frozen state with two ice packs that were good for up to 2 hours. By the time I got home, it had already thawed, so I chilled it in the fridge before cutting it with a knife. And when I sliced into it, I was surprised by how soft it was. When I tasted it, it was incredibly fluffy. It had just the right amount of tartness and sweetness. It wasn't too rich, it was just the perfect cheesecake.

I bought the Nunuus Daddy cake for Father's Day! I made a web reservation and purchase, so I was able to pick it up without waiting in line. It was very rich and delicious! The appearance was also extremely cute. I want to try other cakes next time!
