I stayed at this hotel during my recent trip to Tokyo. The 28th floor "Ice House" is a dedicated afternoon tea floor with a wonderful view and a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy afternoon tea while overlooking the Skytree. The afternoon tea, themed in shades of green for early summer, was like a small garden. The drink was a refreshing melon-flavored concoction with chopped chocolate on top. The sweets plate was delightful with melon blancmange, melon roll cake, bergamot chocolate, matcha tart, Earl Grey macaron, and pistachio mousse cake. The fondue plate featured a warm matcha fondue with dango, gyuhi, fruits (strawberries, oranges, blueberries), and red bean paste, cream, and matcha ice cream. The savory plate was a luxurious version of a complete lunch, with soba noodles, green pea cold soup, octopus, okra, and grapefruit carpaccio, green soy bacon bread, avocado and shrimp spring rolls, edamame and tsukune fritters, and onigiri (tarako seaweed and ikura perilla rolls). The green asparagus bruschetta with prosciutto and camembert cheese was also delicious. Overall, it was a fulfilling afternoon tea experience where I enjoyed the flavors of early summer.
