I headed to PARCO theater to watch Parco Produce 2022 "Tenamonoya Sanmon Opera". The opening day was changed from June 8th to today, June 11th, and although I didn't need a refund, the performance was still held. I arrived at the venue 15-20 minutes late due to a significant delay on the Chiyoda Line. During the performance, I was thinking about eating ramen. I was looking forward to visiting "Nukaji," where they apparently serve craft beer, but I found out after the show that the shop was already closed based on their business hours. Oh well, there used to be a ramen shop in the basement of PARCO, "Jikasei Menshou," but it wasn't open either. Maybe it's gone now. So, I decided to go to "Tachinomi Beer Boy Shibuya PARCO Store." When I used the escalator in PARCO to go downstairs, I saw a line of about 6 people. Curious, I joined the line right away. The food they were serving was hamburger cooked on an iron plate. There were only counter seats, so the turnover was quick, and I decided to wait in line. The curtain had "Hakata" written on it, so it wasn't a Tokyo shop. Upon researching, it seemed to be a new style in Tokyo. The place was called "Gokumiyaki," the first iron plate style hamburger shop. I was handed a menu while waiting in line and placed my order. I wanted to try both the hamburger and the steak, so I ordered the "Gokumiyaki Hamburger & Special Imari Beef Steak (L)" for 2,890 yen and added a set for 350 yen. I was seated inside in less than 10 minutes. The hamburger was placed on the iron plate in front of me. The 60g steak was lightly cooked and placed on the plate as well. I slowly broke down the hamburger and cooked it on the iron plate before eating it. I chose one of the six sauces and wished they had given a bit more wasabi, which I liked the most. I felt like having a beer for 600 yen, so I ordered one. The quality of the meat was evident from the beautiful color. I took out two types of chopsticks from the counter drawer, using metal chopsticks for the iron plate and wooden chopsticks for eating. I enjoyed the set of rice, salad, and soup, and even had a second serving of soup. The quality of the meat was so good that I didn't feel like I was eating a hamburger. It felt more like finely chopped steak. It was my first time trying the Imari beef steak, and it was a unique experience. This place is definitely going to be popular. The prices are reasonable for the set menu, but the hamburger itself is a bit pricey. Is it better to take your time and eat at a high-end restaurant or go to a fast-paced place like this? Maybe this style will become more popular in the future, where even solo diners can easily get in. The soft-serve ice cream was rich and delicious. I wanted a refill, but since I was the last customer of the day, the staff seemed busy cleaning up. If I hadn't seen the line, I might have been enjoying craft beer by now. I'm glad I discovered this place.
