After purifying myself at Yushima Tenjin, I happened to enter a tea shop to have tea, and it turned out to be a fantastic place. My personal highlights are as follows: - The cost performance is amazing. - The menu is fulfilling. - Everything is delicious. - Child-friendly. The cost performance is just too good to be true. For 2800 yen, you get a set menu with 3 dishes, 3 desserts, and all-you-can-drink beverages. 2800 yen. 2800 yen. 2800 yen...!! In recent years, with the rise of social media and trends, the cost of afternoon tea has increased significantly. Afternoon tea used to be more about enjoying the atmosphere, location, and time, so I understand that complaining about the cost might be in bad taste, but I can't help but mention how expensive afternoon tea has become. The set menu includes 3 dishes, 3 desserts, and all-you-can-drink beverages. Just hearing about this setup is already appealing. The variety of savory items in the 3 dishes makes it more enjoyable. The desserts were delightful, especially the mochi. The drink menu for all-you-can-drink is fantastic, including matcha latte and red bean latte. The food is delicious despite the affordable price. The fried dishes were served warm, and the variety of hand-rolled sushi was generous. The desserts, drinks, everything was delicious and satisfying. I had my infant with me this time, and all the staff were incredibly kind. As someone who often dines out with an infant, being treated kindly is a heartwarming experience. When my baby cried, they comforted and helped, making me feel like they were angels. Although it may not fit the traditional definition of afternoon tea, in this era of diversification, I think this menu is fantastic. I am planning to visit again soon.

This is a sweet shop located in front of Yushima Tenmangu Shrine. They offer light meals and desserts, so it was very busy. I tried the shiratama dango with matcha and warabimochi, and they were delicious with a gentle sweetness. It seemed quite busy, so it might be better to visit at a less crowded time.

Lunch set for 1100 yen, mini warabi mochi for 330 yen, mini anmitsu for 330 yen. I decided to try the "Koufuku Sanmai," a trio of desserts, but during lunchtime, if you order a meal, you can get the mini desserts for a discounted price of 330 yen each. I wasn't in the mood for zenzai, so I opted for the lunch set which included various small side dishes, grilled fish, and a cutlet. The appearance was cute and the taste was decent. The corn chawanmushi wasn't to my liking. The anmitsu had a firm texture with a hint of agar flavor, and the warabi mochi lacked sweetness and had an awkward balance. I preferred the warabi mochi at Marushima in Yushima. Overall, it was disappointing.

I knew about the shop, but since it was called a tea room, I thought it was a dessert shop. When I happened to see the menu at the storefront, I found out they had lunch sets, so I decided to go in. The interior was all women, so I felt a bit out of place, but there was space at the counter so I sat there. I ordered the lunch set for 1,100 yen and it arrived fairly quickly. The lunch set that day included 2 pieces of sashimi, chawanmushi (savory egg custard), cucumber and seaweed salad, cheese tempura, grilled salmon, rolled omelette, simmered konjac, spinach with sesame dressing, rice, and miso soup. The portion was not large, but it was just right for someone watching their calories. The chawanmushi looked dark in color, but I was surprised to find stringy cheese inside. It was nice to be able to try a little bit of everything. I think it would be perfect if it had a sweet touch added to it.

Lunch Set 1,100 yen Today, I had lunch in Yushima. The original restaurant I planned to go to didn't have a menu that interested me. Since it was a bit far from the office, there was a risk of becoming a lunch refugee, but I decided to search for another restaurant. I challenged myself to go further to Yushima Tenjin. I found a few new restaurants on the way. With limited time, I decided to enter the first one I saw. I entered at 11:49 AM, there were 13 customers already seated at the counter and 2 customers behind me. Except for the counter, the place was almost full. They served a lot of cold side dishes along with warm rice, vinegar dish, sashimi, two small side dishes, cheese tempura, salmon, pickled Japanese ginger, rolled omelet, simmered hijiki seaweed, and spinach with sesame dressing. It was like enjoying a variety of small dishes. Lastly, I had a cheese and corn chawanmushi for dessert. When I tried to scoop it with a spoon, it felt firm. I tasted the cheese and it was warm, which was unexpected. I thought it was caramel-topped pudding at first. It turned out to be a solid side dish. It was delicious. Visited for lunch on May 10, 2023. Rating: 3.29

Visit date: February 23, 2023 (Thursday, holiday). I discovered this restaurant while visiting Yushima Tenjin Shrine this year. I saw a sign near the entrance that said "Afternoon Tea with Matcha for 2800 yen" and the photos showed 3 plates and a separate plate for dessert, which seemed very affordable, so I definitely wanted to try it. Upon closer inspection from the entrance, I noticed that there were tatami seats in the back, so I decided that I would prefer to sit there when I visit. After researching online, I found out that you could reserve an Afternoon Tea with all-you-can-drink drinks included, and for 3000 yen, you also get a bonus matcha ice cream. It was 200 yen more than the original offer, but I thought it was worth it, so I made a reservation for 2 people 11 days in advance. Our reservation was for 13:30, and we arrived at the restaurant 5 minutes early. We had to wait outside as the staff was still preparing, and a sign indicated that they were fully booked for reservations and the next available entry time was 15:30. I was glad we made a reservation. We were eventually guided into the restaurant in the order of customers waiting outside. Luckily, we were seated in the tatami area! Although online reservations did not allow for seat selection on weekends and holidays, we were fortunate. There were 3 two-person seats in the tatami area. After being seated, we were asked to choose between sparkling wine and yuzu honey water as our first drink. My friend chose sparkling wine, and I opted for yuzu honey water. The yuzu honey water had a nice fragrance, was mildly sweet, and refreshing. The 3-tiered plate set was brought to each of us. All the appetizers were delicious, and I particularly enjoyed the steamed rice with sauce. The small sushi balls on the top tier were small but packed with flavor. They were not only visually appealing but also intricately made, which delighted the female heart. The plates were very charming. After finishing the 3-tiered plate, we finally finished our first drinks and I ordered matcha from the all-you-can-drink menu. It seemed that all the customers who had made reservations were ordering the same Afternoon Tea set, as the dessert plate was not brought out immediately after we finished eating, but rather around the same time as the other customers. The dessert consisted of sweet red bean soup, bracken rice cake, sweet red bean porridge, and the bonus matcha ice cream. They were all delicious with a moderate level of sweetness. The bracken rice cake was large and satisfying to eat. The sweet red bean porridge had a comforting taste with just the right amount of sweetness. The matcha drink had no foam and seemed to be made by simply dissolving matcha powder. Additionally, the matcha latte was made by mixing matcha powder with milk, while my friend's red bean latte had red beans (sweet red bean paste?) in milk. Although it was a 2-hour time limit, the last drink order was 30 minutes before the end. As the other customers were also leaving at the same time, the staff reminded us to prepare to leave 10 minutes before the end, but the restroom was crowded as there was only one, making the departure process a bit hectic. Despite the rushed ending, the overall experience was very cost-effective, and both the food and dessert were delicious, making it very enjoyable. The friend I invited also said they were very satisfied. The seasoning and portion sizes seemed to cater more towards customers in their 30s and older, and all the customers were women. I would definitely recommend this place, but I hope it doesn't become too popular. I would love to visit again. Thank you for the meal! Next time, I would like to try the orange juice from the all-you-can-drink menu.

The Ushijima Tenjin Plum Festival was very crowded. I made a reservation for the opening time of 11:30, but there was a notice saying "Today is fully booked with reservations" even before the store opened. Some people gave up and left. We were seated in the back tatami room, and although the table was small, we were able to enjoy our time comfortably. The staff seemed busy and indifferent, running around in a hurry. It would have been more comfortable if they had provided a more relaxed service. It was difficult to ask for a refill of drinks... which was disappointing. Also, I was looking forward to having Japanese tea, but I couldn't order matcha until the sweetener arrived. (Options were coffee, black tea, orange juice, or oolong tea). I hope they offer choices like sencha or hojicha so that customers can choose tea with their meals.

Recommended for a short break. During events, you can find sweet sake being sold outside the shop. They offer both meals and sweets, so it's good for any mood. I usually come here after eating something salty at a food stall in Yushima, so I often go for sweets. I like to have red bean and matcha here.

Afternoon Tea ᯽ Seasonal Obanzai or Temari Sushi Afternoon Tea ⍢ A unique Japanese-style Afternoon Tea with a focus on savory dishes ⍢ High satisfaction level ⍢✎@saboumatsuo I was curious about this restaurant ✨ Japanese-style Afternoon Tea is occasionally available, but it's rare to find one that is mainly savory! I love savory dishes, so I had to give it a try. I went last week on a Sunday, but it was fully booked, with all seats reserved! The interior of the restaurant had a nice Japanese ambiance, and the clientele was on the older side! Maybe because of the Japanese theme ☺️ There were Madams and older gentlemen, all looking happy ☺️ I usually associate Afternoon Tea places with younger crowds, but I felt like I might have been the youngest there! It was a nice and calm atmosphere! Thinking about it as an Afternoon Tea experience, it was quite interesting, with dishes like fried foods, grilled fish, temari sushi, and very satisfying! The desserts were also delicious! The drink options were unique, with matcha, matcha latte, zenzai latte, mandarin juice, and other interesting choices ❤️‍ Since it's close to Yushima Tenmangu Shrine, I could also pay a visit there on the way back, making it a great experience ✨ If you're tired of regular Afternoon Teas and want something different once in a while, I highly recommend it! Even for those who don't like traditional Japanese sweets, the sweetness level here is mild, so it might be enjoyable! ⚑ 2-33-11 Okada Building 1F, Yushima, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo 3 minutes walk from Yushima Station on the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line 201m from Yushima Station #Yushima #YushimaGourmet #TokyoGourmet #ChaboshouMatsuo #JapaneseStyleAfternoonTea #AfternoonTea #afternoontea #JapaneseSweets #CafeHopping #TokyoGourmetReport #TokyoGourmet #flukeOfficialAmbassador #NationalGourmetGuideᵕ̈* #AfternoonTeaayl #Sweetsayl #Bunkyo-kuayl #Tokyoayl

At "Chasoba Shou", located in Yushima, they offer a Japanese afternoon tea set which includes a welcome drink of sparkling wine, and after-meal desserts such as fruit anmitsu, warabi mochi, and shiratama zenzai, along with your choice of drink (I chose matcha) with free refills...all for only 2800 yen, which is surprisingly affordable. The food is elegant and very delicious. Of course, being a tea house, the traditional Japanese sweets are outstanding. I highly recommend this place for a girls' day out.

Today, I met up with friends for the first time in a while and had a great time at a cozy and delicious Japanese cafe in Yushima. The place had a nice atmosphere and the food was tasty, making time fly by. The set menu even came with sparkling wine and free soft drinks, all for 2800 yen. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Afternoon tea was satisfying, with more focus on the meal rather than the sweets which filled me up. I wish there were more Japanese sweets included. The drinks served with the sweets were unlimited and there were various options including matcha and matcha-based drinks which were delicious.

My wife and I searched for a place to have tea while riding our bicycles and found Matsuo Tea Room, which offers afternoon tea. We decided to wait a bit outside until a table became available. While waiting, we looked at the menu and noticed that the afternoon tea set included sushi, making it more like a lunch set. We decided to go for the Kofuku Sanmai (1350 yen) instead. When we entered, we were led to a raised tatami seating area, but there were also small chairs available which was a relief. Both of us opted for the Kofuku Sanmai set with a drink (additional 300 yen, and we chose hot coffee). The Kofuku Sanmai included a combination of zenzai, warabi mochi, and anmitsu. The zenzai had grilled mochi instead of shiratama, and it was not overly sweet, which we enjoyed. The warabi mochi had real warabi powder in it, but the proportion seemed a bit low. The anmitsu was delicious, with tasty agar and red bean paste. The coffee was the type that can be enjoyed black. They also had shaved ice on the menu, but it seemed it would start after Golden Week. If the red bean paste was this good, the Uji Kan'non would probably be delicious as well.

Near the Torii gate of Yushima Tenjin Shrine, there was a charming shop with a unique entrance. Inside, the staff dressed in kimonos created a lovely atmosphere. I ordered the "Hiruzen" and "Zenzai." The "Hiruzen" came with 7 small dishes, miso soup, and rice, while the "Zenzai" was a small portion but very reasonably priced at 300 yen. They served tea in small soba cups, which was quite unique. Thank you for the delicious meal and great service.

I came from Sendagi to Yushima (´・ᴗ・`), there are places like Shinobazu Pond and the former Iwasaki Garden, but Yushima Tenjin is famous here. It's my first time coming to Yushima (๑•̀ •́)و✧ I visited Yushima Tenjin... "It's early March so the plum blossoms are beautiful." Yushima Tenjin is known for its benefits in academics, right? Even though I'm an old man and it's not really the age for academic improvement, I prayed. I was tired from walking, so I went to "Chabou Matsuo" nearby!! When I entered, it had a nice atmosphere like a Japanese cafe typical of Yushima, with a counter, table seats, and Japanese-style rooms, and a high rate of Yamato Nadeshiko spirit among the women, with many couples and only one old man like me ( ´•ω•` )● I ordered the Obanzai Temari Zen for 1650 yen (6 types of Obanzai, 10 pieces of Temari sushi). This is the time for an old man like me to show what I can do, right? The Tokyo version of boosting women's power is a bit different from Sendai~!! I was thinking of taking a break with Zenzai or Anmitsu, but I changed my mind. "Obanzai and Temari sushi set~ ( ゚ Д゚)ノ" This was my 7th meal of the day, but I'll eat it (๑'ڡ'๑)୨ Others around me are eating from a luxurious 3-tiered plate... The Obanzai was healthy and the chawanmushi was good, Oh Banzai~! The Temari sushi included seafood like tuna and shrimp, but also creative bites like eggplant and pickles, all in one bite size and showing careful workmanship, they were all delicious (*•̀ᴗ•́*)و ̑̑ It was a good break for my stomach. Thank you for the meal in this Japanese-style space, it was a boost for my women's power~♪ [Tabelog] ☆3.28 [Tanuki Rating (Lunch)] ★Overall... 37 points ★Atmosphere... 8 points ★Food... 7 points ★Signature menu... 8 points ★Cost performance... 7 points ★Likelihood to revisit... 7 points

On a cold day after 1:00 PM, I visited the restaurant for lunch for the third time. There were two groups of customers ahead of me. I ordered the lunch set for 1,100 yen. The side dishes such as pickled vegetables, boiled vegetables, and steamed egg with sauce were delicious as always. However, the main dishes (cheese and shiso roll, chicken cutlet) were not freshly fried and were just average. The rice was clumpy, dry, lukewarm, and the fishy smell of the salmon was disappointing. It was very sad that the rice, which is the main part of the meal, was not enjoyable. The restaurant was quite cold as the heating was turned off, so I requested to raise the temperature. The response I received from the elderly woman and another woman at the counter was unfriendly and they muttered about raising the temperature. They told me to move to the left as the temperature was already at the maximum. The cold atmosphere and the arrogant attitude from the staff made it difficult to enjoy the meal. From the beginning to the end, the service was lacking. I felt offended by their attitude towards the air conditioning issue. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

I found and tried the "Afternoon of Harmony" (Cheers Drink & All-you-can-drink) for ¥2800 (tax included) at OZ Mall. The meal consisted of hand-rolled sushi, seasonal side dishes, grilled and fried dishes, soup, and sweets. Everything was delicious, especially the warabi mochi in the dessert assortment served at the end. The drink options were great, with authentic matcha, matcha latte, and unique shiruko latte available. I was able to fully enjoy the Japanese atmosphere. While afternoon tea is usually associated with sweets, I appreciated the more savory Japanese twist in this experience.

The atmosphere of the shop, the appearance, taste, and service of the afternoon tea were all great, and I had a good time. Although the shop was a bit far from the station, it was not difficult to find, so it didn't bother me much. It seems that you can only make a reservation through "Ozmall" for afternoon tea, as it is not available on Tabelog, so if you are going for the afternoon tea, it may be better to make a reservation in advance through Ozmall. I would like to go again.

I visited the restaurant during normal business hours. It is located in front of the torii gate at Yushima Tenjin, making it convenient to stop by for sweets or tea time after visiting the shrine. The interior of the restaurant has a calm atmosphere with a wooden theme, providing a relaxing space. I had a rice bowl and my wife had a lunch set. I recommend adding dessert for an extra 330 yen after the meal. They also offer tea sets with a variety of small dishes, which seemed appealing.

I went to a Japanese modern-themed afternoon tea for the first time! As a Japanese person, I truly enjoyed the wonderful time. I enjoy exploring different afternoon tea options, but I'm not brave enough to go alone, so I brought a friend. It was a special experience on a day off, with a beautiful setting, delicious food, and a great atmosphere. The moment I walked into the shop, I was greeted by a Japanese modern ambiance that made me feel warm and cozy. Most of the customers were using the tea break, and they seemed to be in their 30s to 60s or older, all very calm and relaxed. *Reservations are required for afternoon tea. The afternoon tea lineup was as follows: 1st tier - Temari sushi, 2nd tier - Seasonal side dishes, 3rd tier - Grilled and fried dishes, etc., with sweets and coffee included. The three-tiered tea stand was just so lovely. Each dish was carefully arranged on small plates. The appearance was vibrant and adorable. From the temari sushi with pickles to rolled sushi and inarizushi, each bite-sized dish allowed us to savor the flavors and appearance slowly. When I think of afternoon tea, I usually imagine sweet desserts, but this place pleasantly surprised me with a more meal-like experience. It's not often that I can enjoy a meal so leisurely, so I truly felt like I was savoring the dining experience. Thank you for a truly happy time.

The afternoon tea at Temarizushi was lovely. The cute dessert was served after finishing the meal, and the staff mentioned that they would bring it out at the same time if requested. The dessert was delicious and not too sweet. Although the drinks were supposed to be free, it wasn't explained at first, and I was asked halfway through what I would like for my complimentary drink. The azuki latte and matcha latte were so delicious!
