It's towards the end of Golden Week. The weather is nice, but it seems like today is the peak time for people returning to Tokyo from the countryside during Golden Week. The city is relatively empty... but not this place. I arrived at a time just after they opened, but it was already full and I had to wait outside. While waiting, I placed an order for the pork cutlet lunch set for 1,450 yen. Soon after, I was seated inside and waited. This is my second time here, and the owner is still diligently frying the cutlets. Miso soup and pickles were served first, followed by rice and the pork cutlet as the main dish. I topped the shredded cabbage with homemade Chinese dressing and enjoyed it. The cabbage was hand-cut, not machine-shredded, so it tasted delicious. The Chinese dressing had a strong sesame oil flavor, which was also delicious. Now, onto the pork cutlet. I poured the sauce, added some Japanese hot mustard... and took a bite. The pork's fat, the umami of the meat, the crispy coating, the sauce. Ohhh... it was delicious. Truly delicious. It was a satisfying meal. Thank you for the feast! Amen!

I've always wanted to go there, but there was always a long line, so I couldn't go. Finally, on a rainy Saturday, there were only two groups waiting, and there were few counter seats with the head chef and two female staff members working. I thought, "This is going to create a line." The taste itself was great - the meat was tender, the breading was crispy, and the inside was fluffy? Even though it was tonkatsu, you could eat it lightly while still enjoying the flavor of the meat. I don't like waiting in lines, but I want to visit again when there are fewer people waiting.

The sirloin, minced meat, sautéed burdock, and potato salad with roast pork were all felt to be on the lean side. They had a texture similar to eating lean meat. Both the salt and sauce were fine. However, it may not be suitable for those who prefer fatty cuts of pork. The sautéed burdock and potato salad had a homely taste and were delicious.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. Had lunch after taking a morning bath at Shimizu-yu. Waited in line for about 30 minutes since the opening. I initially thought of getting the Rosu Katsu set with a Menchi Katsu topping on top of the Rosu, but ended up choosing this combination since they had Menchi Katsu. Started with miso soup and cabbage. The miso soup was to my liking, made with white dashi broth. Delicious. The cabbage is eaten with the dressing and sauce on the table. The special dressing is probably tasty. The tonkatsu had a rich sweetness and umami of the pork, tender and delicious meat. The batter was light and easy to eat, with a delightful taste. The Menchi Katsu was also flavorful and easy to eat, not overly seasoned. Cabbage can be refilled once for free. Thank you for the meal. I thoroughly enjoyed the tonkatsu after a long time.

⭐️Mochi Pork Tonkatsu Taiyo/Musashi-Koyama Station 4-minute walk☑️Ordered the "Top Loin Cutlet Set" for 2,300 yen at Taiyo, a Michelin Bib Gourmand & selected as one of the top 100 restaurants! Arrived an hour before the 11:30 opening and was the first in line! The tonkatsu arrived 25 minutes later! The cutlet, rice, and cabbage are served in generous portions. The tonkatsu has a crispy yet light batter with tender pork, creating an exquisite taste! The "mochi pork" is fatty like mochi and sweet, a flavor loved by everyone. Ate it all in 20 minutes! Since the restaurant is small, it's recommended to line up early! Thank you for the meal! Will visit again!⭐️Business Hours: 11:30-14:00, 17:30-20:00⭐️Closed on Mondays and Fridays⭐️Address: 3-22-7 Koyama, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo Maison Izumi 1-112 Would be happy if you could follow us on Instagram! @amanatto_gurume

My body feeling a bit sluggish in the summer heat was craving tonkatsu! I decided on Friday evening and managed to reserve a table for the next day with exactly two seats available. I ordered the loin cutlet while my companion ordered the fillet set. The tonkatsu, which arrived after a leisurely wait, had a bright golden color. It was cooked thoroughly, very tender, truly a melt-in-your-mouth pork. I first savored it with salt, then with the sauce. The original sauce was fruity and refreshing. The crispness of the shredded cabbage, pickles, and tonjiru soup were all delicious. It had been two and a half years since my last visit, but there was no mistake in returning to this renowned restaurant. While I also love the flavorful Hayashi SPF, the tonkatsu at Taiyo really brings out the lightness, balanced oiliness, and sweetness of the pork. I might just end up liking it more as I get older. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I felt like having tonkatsu, so I went to this restaurant in Musashi-Koyama. There weren't many seats, so I had to wait a bit, but luckily I got in without having to wait too long. While waiting in line, a female staff member handed me the menu and asked for my order in a somewhat dry tone, which I didn't like. In the end, I ordered the fillet cutlet with a topping of minced meat. When I entered, the friendly owner was cooking three servings at a time. The cooking was done carefully, so it took a bit of time, but I didn't feel it was particularly slow. I was surprised by the tenderness of the fillet and the concentrated flavor of the meat. I ate it with sauce and salt, and it may be a fillet that you don't come across often. The minced meat was juicy, and eating it together with the fillet made it even better. The rice was shiny, the pork miso soup combined the flavor of pork with miso, the pickles had a good balance of acidity, and the cabbage with homemade Chinese dressing was excellent. The tonkatsu didn't make me feel heavy, and I was truly amazed by the superb quality of the fillet cutlet.

I lined up at a top-class tonkatsu restaurant despite having a body fat percentage of 31%. The restaurant, Mochi Buta Tonkatsu Taiyo, is ranked in the top 100 on Tabelog with a rating of 3.77. I waited in line for about 20 minutes in the counter-only restaurant to taste their delicious fillet cutlet. The staff carefully seasoned, prepped, and fried the cutlet after I placed my order. It was truly satisfying. The prices were reasonable: 1450 yen for a loin cutlet lunch, 1550 yen for a fillet cutlet lunch, and an additional 550 yen for a menchi-katsu topping. The freshly made cutlets were crispy and fluffy, and I enjoyed them a lot. The restaurant is located at 3-22-7 Koyama, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo. They are open from 11:30 to 14:00 and 17:30 to 20:00, with the last order at 20:00. Note that they close once ingredients run out. They are open on Sundays as well. #natashaGourmet #tonkatsu #top100 #TabelogTop100 #loveeating

I lined up before the store opened. I arrived at 10:50, 40 minutes before opening. There were already 3 people in line. The restaurant only has a counter, and since they make the food after you order, if you don't get in on the first round, you may have to wait for over 30 minutes. The owner doesn't talk much but is a kind person. I could see them handling pork seriously from the counter. This time, I ordered the top loin cutlet with a minced cutlet topping. Despite having very little fat, the pork was tender and juicy, with a kindness I had never felt in pork before. Also, the minced cutlet makes you want to eat more rice because it's crispy, juicy, and not too greasy. It might be a must-order item.

It's about a 7-8 minute walk from Musashi-Koyama Station towards the Nakahara Kaido direction. I visited around 5:30 pm on a weekday. There was no wait, and we were seated right away. The pork loin was very tender and delicious. The miso soup was also very tasty. Pork loin set meal with 2 beers.

I arrived around 1 pm on a weekday. It's about a 7-minute walk from Musashi-Koyama Station. It was my first time, and as I was trying to read the sign in front of the shop, a staff member called out to me and I was immediately seated. I couldn't read what was written on the sign in the end. It seemed quite popular as I tried to enter before lunchtime ended, but there were no available seats, so I was turned away. I ordered the pork loin set lunch. It's popular because it's priced at under 1500 yen. The pork loin used was quite lean, so even eating it for lunch didn't make my stomach feel heavy. The outer breadcrumbs were crispy and enclosed the juicy pork perfectly. It was incredibly delicious. Thank you for the meal!

The carefully fried pork fillet was sweet, tender, and fragrant, and very delicious. The miso soup and pickles were also tasty, and I finished the rice quickly. I thought it was lovely how carnations were displayed here and there. I would like to go again.

I went in the evening before, but it was fully booked. They don't take lunch reservations, so I revisited. I missed the first round by arriving 20 minutes early. The counter has only 6 seats. The owner was very humble, apologizing in advance for making us wait for the second round. Many locals seem to frequent the place. Ended up waiting for an hour. Ordered the top loin cutlet and sake. The pickles were delicious. The owner fried the cutlet with great care. The outside had a golden crispy coating, while the meat was tender - a truly delicious tonkatsu! I mainly enjoyed it with salt. The slightly sweet sauce was also good. The shredded cabbage was dressed with homemade Chinese dressing - delicious. The rice texture and the hearty pork soup were also good. A very meticulous job on a standard tonkatsu.

On a sunny day. I wanted to eat delicious tonkatsu, not sure if I could get in, but decided to go for it! Lucky me, got seated without waiting. As a first-timer, I ordered the classic hire (pork loin) set meal. The classic trio of rice, miso soup, tonkatsu, cabbage, and pickles graced the table. The tonkatsu was indeed delicious as rumored. The cabbage and rice were cooked just right and tasty. The person next to me ordered the premium hire (pork fillet), which seemed to be thicker cut. I might try that next time, but the minced meat cutlet is also tempting. You can have seconds of cabbage for free!

*I lined up from 1 hour before the opening on Saturday and just made it in. The upper loin (2300) was delicious! You can also taste the richness of the fat! The fillet lunch (1550) was also good! It's tender and you can eat as many as you want! The additional minced meat (550) is tasty too! But it's a bit pricey. The customer service was excellent! I want to try the set lunch next time. Thank you for the meal!*

It was delicious. Since the number of seats is limited, there might be a wait during busy times. The interior had a calming atmosphere with classical music playing. It was very pleasant. The counter seats allowed us to watch the careful preparation of each tonkatsu visually, which was enjoyable. The owner also had a kind demeanor, which was nice.

This time, I ordered the special loin with a minced cutlet topping. The loin was average, but the minced cutlet was quite juicy, without any unpleasant smell, and very delicious. The restaurant opened at 11:30 a.m., and there weren't many people waiting, but when we arrived at 10:50 a.m. on a Sunday, it was already the second round. Upon entering, I understood that it was a small restaurant with only a counter. However, the atmosphere was also nice.

This is my favorite tonkatsu place in the neighborhood. I always order the Hire (pork fillet) set with additional braised pork. The Hire is 110g, so it would be nice to have a bit more volume... I usually add menchi (minced meat cutlet), but this time I tried adding the braised pork that I haven't tried before. It was quite elegant braised pork, but it was also delicious.

I called and made a reservation for the same day. The fat on the meat isn't too strong, yet it's wonderfully juicy. The crust is crispy and doesn't come off the meat. Personally, I prefer a bit more fat, but the meat is flavorful and enjoyable. It was the most delicious tonkatsu I've ever had. The braised pork and pork miso soup are also very tasty.

A tonkatsu restaurant located slightly off the main street in the center of Musashi-Koyama shopping district. Visited around 6 pm on a weekday and was seated in about 5 minutes. Ordered the hirekatsu set. The hirekatsu came with 3 pieces totaling 80 grams, made with pork loin. The owner seemed very meticulous in their preparation. The amount of cabbage served was like a mountain. The pork was tender and crispy.
