A shabu-shabu and sukiyaki specialty restaurant located in Ueno-Okachimachi. It's a bit hard to find, but it has a cozy atmosphere that I personally really like. The interior is not very spacious, with counter seats and private rooms, making it suitable for entertaining or special occasions. I ordered the Olive Beef Gold Label sukiyaki course. The Olive Beef is tender and rich in flavor, a standout feature. The course combines sukiyaki with elements of kaiseki cuisine. They use seasonal ingredients and pay attention to the presentation, making both the taste and appearance excellent. The main sukiyaki dish was absolutely delicious! Without a doubt, the food here is amazing! In addition to shabu-shabu and sukiyaki, they also offer kaiseki courses, catering to various occasions like entertaining, ceremonies, or celebrations. They have successfully expanded from a shabu-shabu and sukiyaki specialty restaurant to a new field of meat kaiseki. Since kaiseki cuisine can often be bland, unique kaiseki courses like the ones here are likely in high demand. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I had some business in Akihabara and on my way back, I visited Azuki, a Japanese restaurant located about 5 minutes from Suehirocho Station on the Ginza Line. The restaurant was clean and neat, with both counter seating and private rooms available. I tried the "Olive Beef Shabu-Shabu Course" which included various seasonal dishes such as appetizers like seaweed salad with ponzu sauce, nanohana with mustard dressing, firefly squid with vinegar miso, and mineoka tofu. The clam soup was delicious with chopped clam meat inside. The sashimi platter included squid, striped jack, and bluefin tuna, all very tasty. The highlight was the fugu (blowfish) tempura, which was surprisingly included in the course and was incredibly delicious. The shabu-shabu with olive beef was served with homemade sesame and ponzu sauces, along with fresh vegetables like leeks and chrysanthemum greens. The olive beef was light and perfect for shabu-shabu. The meal ended with udon noodles in a flavorful soup. Overall, I overate because the course was so fulfilling and had great value for money. Thank you for the feast!

This sukiyaki restaurant offers great value for money. The other menu items were also delicious, which was a pleasant surprise. The sashimi was tasty too! Tempura was also served, allowing us to enjoy a variety of Japanese dishes. The interior of the restaurant had wall paintings of gardens, creating a sense of openness. The place felt very spacious. The portions were generous, so I think even men would be very satisfied! Oh, since it's on the basement floor, the signal was weak.

We visited the restaurant with two people on a regular day at 7:00 PM. The atmosphere was calm and there was a moderate number of customers. However, there was a bit of a wait for drink orders, and it was tough to wait without any drinks. It's understandable that food service might be a bit slow, but it would have been nice if the first drink was served promptly. The sukiyaki we ordered was delicious, and the udon for the finale was also tasty.

I had the Hitachi beef rib roast sukiyaki course. I chose to add the top-grade Hitachi beef sirloin from other options. The first piece of meat was cooked by the staff, but the rest we cooked ourselves. We ordered the meat at the counter and it was sliced fresh with a slicer. The meat was thinly sliced, I would say.

I was treated to a luxurious meal like a lavish feast. The dishes included steamed sea bream in a pot, grilled blackthroat seaperch sushi, ginkgo nuts, olives, sukiyaki with beef, grilled tuna collar, and more that I can't remember. The alcohol was also good, and I enjoyed it. The blackthroat seaperch sushi and steamed sea bream were particularly delicious. The chef and one server were managing the place alone, and I was the only customer. I can't help but worry if everything is okay. It was delicious, but considering the price, I can only give a strict evaluation.

It's been a while since I visited. I took a seat at the counter and, with the summer heat, decided to try the eel rice bowl. When I asked, "Where is the eel from?" I was told, "It's from Taiwan. We can't offer domestic eel at this price." I was immediately given an excuse. I only asked about the origin, so all they had to do was confidently say, "It's from Taiwan." Or they could have simply specified on the menu that it's Taiwanese eel. If they have to make excuses, it's better not to put it on the menu. The eel rice bowl (1,980 yen including tax) uses eel from Taiwan. Regardless, it's quite small. The balance between the amount of eel and rice is off. If the price is the reason, then so be it. Perhaps choosing a shabu-shabu dish at a shabu-shabu restaurant would have been a better choice. It reminded me of my mediocre experience with their previous lunch box. Oh well.

There is a shop on the basement floor. Despite offering slightly expensive items compared to other shops in the area, it was quite crowded and I couldn't get in twice before. I decided to come at a different time this day, and found a seat at the counter. The back seemed to have tatami seating. I sat at the counter with a deep counter equipped with dividers, looked at the menu, and ordered the bara chirashi don for 1,210 yen. The chef-like person inside the counter started preparing it, and when I thought I heard a voice from the back, he appeared. At first glance, this bara chirashi looked delicious. The wide-mouthed bowl was filled with rice, which seemed slightly more than a regular serving. I felt like it was about 250-300g. The toppings were generously scattered, giving it a powerful appearance. I quickly poured soy sauce mixed with wasabi and enjoyed it. It's impossible for this not to be delicious, in fact, it's really tasty. Tuna, octopus, squid, salmon, egg, cucumber, etc., were all of sushi quality. However, since it's not sushi, the rice is just warm white rice. It's a lunch over 1,000 yen, but with this quality and taste, it's easy to understand why it's so popular. Next time, I'd like to try the olive pork sukiyaki. Posted from a blog article: https://datte2.hatenablog.com/entry/2022/05/27/040000

On Mother's Day, I had a sukiyaki and shabu-shabu lunch with my mom. This place offers Olive Beef, which is gaining worldwide attention, even for lunch. I was torn between dinner and lunch, but decided to try the more affordable lunch option first. The pork shabu-shabu was recommended, and we also tried the Olive Beef sukiyaki. The vegetables were only shredded cabbage, which surprisingly paired really well with the meat. The owner kindly served us the Hitachi Beef, which is usually only available for dinner (¥11,000 for 2 servings). It was incredibly tender and rich in flavor. Many customers come here specifically for this dish. The sesame sauce and condiments were all homemade, showing the attention to detail at this restaurant. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I went to try Olive Beef for the first time. This specialty restaurant offers carefully selected seasonal ingredients from all over the country, including Olive Beef and Olive Pork that chefs around the world are paying attention to, to enjoy in shabu-shabu or charcoal-grilled dishes! Olive beef is raised on feed made from dried squeezed fruits after being pressed in the olive-producing region of Kagawa Prefecture! I enjoyed a luxurious shabu-shabu course with appetizers, soup, sashimi, side dishes, hot pot, rice or porridge, and dessert. Olive beef has a rich yet refreshing and high-quality meat that is tender and melts in your mouth. The homemade sesame sauce and ponzu were exquisite! Every dish was truly delicious and satisfying!!! Kozue is a hidden gem of a restaurant where you can enjoy the rare Olive Beef that is not widely available in Tokyo in a good private room with excellent service! The staff were also very kind. I loved it! I plan to go back again.

When you go down to the basement by stairs or elevator, you suddenly find a wonderful Japanese-style space. Despite being close to Okachimachi and Ueno Hirokoji, it has a great hidden feel! Inside the restaurant, there are private rooms and a counter. We chose a private room in the back. After some deliberation, we quickly decided on "Olive Beef!" Next, we debated between shabu-shabu or sukiyaki, course or a la carte... We decided on Olive Beef sukiyaki, and opted for the course. We toasted with Asahi's carefully selected beer. The course began with spring appetizers: cherry blossom tofu, bamboo shoots and udo with squid and tree buds, trout sushi balls, whelk, and firefly squid. The spring appetizers were full of the goodness of Japanese cuisine! Then, we had clam soup with hamaguri. For sashimi, we had bluefin tuna, stone flounder, and cherry sea bream. Everything was luxurious! We particularly enjoyed the shrimp cherry blossom toast! It had a subtle spring scent of cherry leaves and salted shrimp toast with plenty of fish paste. Delicious! We were already quite satisfied by this point, but we couldn't forget about the main dish: sukiyaki! The Olive Beef sukiyaki with spring greens, leeks, watercress (originally enoki mushrooms), and tofu was a delight. We were lucky to have the staff cook it for us, giving us a VIP treatment. It was a weekday, right in the middle of the week, and it was perfect! The meat melted in a gentle and delicious way, and the sukiyaki broth was not too heavy. It was truly delicious! For the finish, we could choose between zosui (rice porridge) and udon, but I gave up. They quickly cooked the udon in an iron pot for me. And to accompany the tofu with yuzu miso, there was a cheesecake with orange sauce, a stylish dessert. What a great course! We also ordered a few more beers, and I ordered a seasonal sour, but with all this, the bill was less than 10,000 yen per person! This is amazing. This place seems suitable for lunch with mom friends, anniversary dinners, business meals, and casual gatherings. If you're looking for a nice restaurant in the area, be sure to check it out! Thank you for the meal.

Eating here was a pleasant surprise! The cost performance is amazing. This time, I tried the Olive Beef Sukiyaki Course for ¥7,700. The course included appetizers, soup, sashimi, a side dish, sukiyaki, udon noodles, and dessert, all of which were high-quality traditional Japanese dishes with a lot of attention to detail in ingredients, flavors, and presentation. The clam and shirako soup was delicate and delicious. The sashimi featured fatty tuna, scallops, and sea bream served in a scallop shell, which was impressive for the price. Before the main sukiyaki course, I was already feeling satisfied. Finally, the long-awaited sukiyaki arrived, and it was a luxurious experience as the staff cooked it right in front of us. The Olive Beef used was a rare and high-quality meat with a refreshing fat content, creating a flavor that didn't get boring as we ate. The udon noodles at the end were also excellent. In addition to sukiyaki, they also offer shabu-shabu with options like Olive Beef, Hitachi Beef, Olive Pork, Iberico Pork, and seafood, which I would like to try next time. The restaurant has private rooms for a calm dining experience, and the combination of quality, quantity, and price is truly exceptional!

Wow, the dishes from this restaurant are amazing! It makes you look forward to what's coming next! Even though it's sukiyaki, they also serve the best sashimi! This time, they even served abalone! And the main dish meat was outstanding! The Olive beef they offer has an indescribable aroma, tenderness, and deliciousness! They use top-quality vegetables as well, and the skillful cooking by the service women is just too good! They have a wide variety of alcohol options, making it great for families, business meetings, or even dining alone at the counter! Definitely worth a visit!

Sukiyaki and shabu-shabu restaurant located in Ueno Okachimachi, offering high-quality meats such as domestic brand A5 rank Jyoshu beef and "Olive beef" directly from Kagawa. The cozy Japanese-style restaurant has been featured in various media outlets and was popular among visitors. I decided to visit after seeing the menu on my way back from Skytree, and I was intrigued by the Iberico pork option. The original broth, yuzu pepper, and crushed plum added delicious accents to the dish. They offer a wide selection of sake from all over Japan, and private rooms are available, making it suitable for business entertainment or special occasions. Make sure to make a reservation before visiting. Check the official website for more details. Today's menu includes Iberico pork shoulder shabu-shabu course for ¥6600, consisting of 7 items such as seasonal appetizers, codfish soup, sashimi, blowfish tempura, Iberico pork, Chinese noodles, and dessert. They also offer Atago no Matsuri Junmai Ginjo Omachi from Miyagi for ¥1320. If desired, they can prepare individual hot pots, so make sure to inform them when making a reservation.

I had the pork shabu-shabu course (6050 yen). ◆Appetizer - The tofu was like a pudding, very soft and delicious. The broth for the shrimp was similar to shabu-shabu, very tasty! The simmered octopus was also delicious with great seasoning. The mustard greens had a nice kick to them and were tasty. ◆Soup - The miso soup had chunks of tofu in it and was delicately flavored, very tasty. ◆Sashimi - Tuna, yellowtail (this one had a lot of fat and was a highlight), and sea bream were served. ◆Fried blowfish - This was incredibly delicious. I was pleasantly surprised to see blowfish served in a course meal at this price. ◆Pork shabu-shabu - The green onions were plentiful. Two types of green onions were used, and the sesame sauce was different for pork compared to beef, using cashews instead. The Iberico pork had a bit more lean meat due to a shortage caused by COVID, but it was still delicious. It was served with bonito broth, yuzu pepper, and plum, which were also tasty. Finally, we had recommended Chinese noodles, dessert, and tea to finish off the meal. Thank you for the feast.

I visited a nearby restaurant and tried the Olive "Yumebuta" pork shabu-shabu lunch. It came with thick slices of pork and shredded cabbage. I adjusted the taste with yuzu pepper and plum salt mixed in the broth. There were plenty of pork slices, so I ordered extra cabbage to fill up. The miso paste was also delicious. The restaurant is located underground, and I noticed there was an elevator in the back, so I would like to visit again for dinner next time.

I found a restaurant because I wanted to eat shabu-shabu! The interior has counters, tables, and sunken hearths, creating a calm Japanese atmosphere. I tried the Olive Beef dipped in ponzu sauce. It had a lot of fat, but thanks to the ponzu sauce, it tasted light and melted in my mouth. Other dishes were also carefully prepared and delicious!

I have been working from home a lot lately, and I have been having trouble finding a good place for lunch when I go to Ueno during lunchtime. However, I recently visited this place where you can have hot pot for lunch even during this season. They offer shabu-shabu and sukiyaki, and I ordered the regular pork shabu-shabu for 1000 yen. They set up a burner in front of me and I cooked the ingredients myself. The portion was quite generous, with cabbage instead of Chinese cabbage. The cabbage became soft and tasty when cooked in the pot with the broth. The pork was not the thin frozen kind you usually get at cheap hot pot places, but a good quality one. Overall, it was a simple yet satisfying meal. I would like to visit again.

Olive Dream Pork Shabu-Shabu for 1,100 yen Today, three colleagues and I went out for lunch. We didn't have a specific restaurant in mind, but when one of us mentioned a delicious shabu-shabu lunch spot, we decided to give it a try. We arrived at 11:40 am and were seated in a tatami room. It was my first time here, and the restaurant was quite busy, quickly filling up with customers. The menu offered a variety of dishes such as Olive Dream Pork Sukiyaki for 1,000 yen, Olive Dream Pork Shabu-Shabu for 1,000 yen, Inaniwa Udon Set (hot) for 1,200 yen, Roast Beef Bowl for 1,200 yen, Sashimi Assortment Set for 1,300 yen, Olive Beef Sukiyaki for 1,380 yen, and Olive Beef Shabu-Shabu for 1,380 yen. With so many options, it was a bit overwhelming, but based on a colleague's recommendation, I ordered the Olive Dream Pork Sukiyaki. Due to the crowded restaurant, it took about 15 minutes for the dish to be served. The presentation was beautiful, with over 15 slices of pork neatly arranged on the plate. I couldn't wait to dig in. I poured some broth into an empty bowl, dissolved some plum paste, and started enjoying the shabu-shabu. The mountain of cabbage was to be cooked in the pot along with the meat. Putting the pork miso on rice and eating it together was a perfect combination. After finishing the meal, I was advised to try mixing the sesame sauce with the broth and drinking it, which turned out to be incredibly delicious. I also tried adding plum paste to the broth for the second round, and it was equally tasty. I saved some rice to try eating it with the meat miso and broth drizzled on top next time. The flavor was so good that I could have had multiple servings. I am grateful to my colleague for recommending this place, as it was truly a delightful dining experience. I look forward to returning in the future. Another satisfying meal today! December 26, 2019, lunch visit.

I remember seeing on TV a while ago that the weekday lunch sukiyaki was delicious, and I think that's why I bookmarked it. The sukiyaki comes with shredded cabbage, which at first I thought was a salad, but it turns out you put it in the sukiyaki pot. This set includes just meat and cabbage. You add them one after another to the pot and eat with beaten eggs. I didn't expect the sweetness of the sauce to go well with the cabbage, but it was surprisingly delicious. The meat is thinly sliced like shabu-shabu, but it felt satisfying to eat. The dinner prices are somewhat high, but I think the lunch set is a good value.

I really love the Olive Dream Pork shabu-shabu lunch, and I have visited several times already. I went with my colleagues before, and they both really liked it. One of them even ordered an egg and enjoyed the zosui (rice soup) afterwards. This time, I visited alone around 12:20 pm. I was curious about trying the pork sukiyaki this time. The Olive Dream Pork sukiyaki costs 1,080 yen. I was expecting the usual ingredients like grilled tofu, shiitake mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, shirataki noodles, Chinese cabbage, and green onions, but I was surprised when they brought out the same ingredients as the shabu-shabu. The sauce was sweet and the meat was tender, and the sauce was delicious. However, I felt like I wanted to eat sukiyaki with different ingredients. I think I still prefer the Olive Dream Pork shabu-shabu here. After finishing the shabu-shabu, you can add the sesame sauce to the soup to make it into a tantan soup, which is also delicious. I recommend trying that as well. So please come and try it out!

Shabu-shabu, sukiyaki, hot pot... the atmosphere is like a traditional Japanese restaurant, how is "Azuki" restaurant? There are 3 reviews. Why did I become interested? Because there aren't many good dining options around here. Maybe Azuki is popular after all, judging from the three reviews on the world's Yelp. It might be a bit pricey for a casual lunch. It could be a good choice for those with free time during lunch. Azuki has a traditional Japanese vibe... maybe there's a chance it's worth a try. It's near the ramen restaurant Yabuzuka that I visited yesterday. There are stairs, but they're steep, so take the elevator. The exterior doesn't give off a good impression. There are many partitions so you can't see the whole place. I sit at the counter. For lunch, they have options like Matsukado bento (Snow) for 1000 yen (limited to 10 servings, sold out), Matsukado bento (Moon) for 2500 yen, Olive Pork Set for 3000 yen. The Matsukado bento (Snow) seems good, but it's sold out. It's not okay to order three dishes right away. Azuki also has a lunch menu with options like Olive Pork Shabu-shabu for 1000 yen, Inaniwa Udon Set for 1200 yen, Roast Beef Don for 1200 yen, Sashimi Assortment Set for 1300-1404 yen, Olive Beef Sukiyaki for 1380 yen. Prices are excluding tax. The cheap shabu-shabu seems tempting, but there aren't many options that I want to try. Let's see how the sashimi is with the Sashimi Assortment Set. The tea is... there's a big pot placed on the table, it's self-service. No one comes to pour it for you. It's clear that this isn't a high-end restaurant operation. The Sashimi Assortment Set is served on a plate that isn't cold, it's room temperature. The tai, octopus, red meat, skipjack tuna, yellowtail are not as cold as I prefer. The sashimi is okay. There's nothing that particularly stands out, as expected. You can get a rice refill. The rice doesn't feel like it's from a proper restaurant, it's quite average. I need a refill as it's not enough, so I ask for "half more." The miso soup has tofu and wakame in red dashi broth, which is not to my liking. Overall, it's just an average lunch. It feels more like a sashimi set meal than a high-quality sashimi experience. The tea is self-service, and the staff at the restaurant are not very friendly. I don't have high expectations for dinner, so I leave feeling unimpressed. This was Gossan.
