When you go down to the basement by stairs or elevator, you suddenly find a wonderful Japanese-style space. Despite being close to Okachimachi and Ueno Hirokoji, it has a great hidden feel! Inside the restaurant, there are private rooms and a counter. We chose a private room in the back. After some deliberation, we quickly decided on "Olive Beef!" Next, we debated between shabu-shabu or sukiyaki, course or a la carte... We decided on Olive Beef sukiyaki, and opted for the course. We toasted with Asahi's carefully selected beer. The course began with spring appetizers: cherry blossom tofu, bamboo shoots and udo with squid and tree buds, trout sushi balls, whelk, and firefly squid. The spring appetizers were full of the goodness of Japanese cuisine! Then, we had clam soup with hamaguri. For sashimi, we had bluefin tuna, stone flounder, and cherry sea bream. Everything was luxurious! We particularly enjoyed the shrimp cherry blossom toast! It had a subtle spring scent of cherry leaves and salted shrimp toast with plenty of fish paste. Delicious! We were already quite satisfied by this point, but we couldn't forget about the main dish: sukiyaki! The Olive Beef sukiyaki with spring greens, leeks, watercress (originally enoki mushrooms), and tofu was a delight. We were lucky to have the staff cook it for us, giving us a VIP treatment. It was a weekday, right in the middle of the week, and it was perfect! The meat melted in a gentle and delicious way, and the sukiyaki broth was not too heavy. It was truly delicious! For the finish, we could choose between zosui (rice porridge) and udon, but I gave up. They quickly cooked the udon in an iron pot for me. And to accompany the tofu with yuzu miso, there was a cheesecake with orange sauce, a stylish dessert. What a great course! We also ordered a few more beers, and I ordered a seasonal sour, but with all this, the bill was less than 10,000 yen per person! This is amazing. This place seems suitable for lunch with mom friends, anniversary dinners, business meals, and casual gatherings. If you're looking for a nice restaurant in the area, be sure to check it out! Thank you for the meal.
