Top-quality pork cutlet set meal "Dorobuta" ¥3,990 Customer satisfaction rating: ★★★★★ (5 stars) Located in Omotesando, this pork cutlet restaurant is produced by Masugi Daisuke, also known as the "Pork Cutlet Prince," who has been eating 200 servings of pork cutlets annually for over 10 years. The restaurant offers carefully selected brand pork from pig farms across the country. Rice and cabbage can be refilled once for free, and then for an additional 100 yen. The "Dorobuta" pork cutlet is rich in muscle but has a smooth texture that is easy to chew. The balance between lean meat and fat is exquisite, creating a harmonious blend of flavors in every bite. The fat is sweet and light, making the meal satisfying yet not heavy even with a 230g portion. The restaurant offers two types of salt, sweet and spicy, to enhance the flavors of lean meat and fat. The breading is excellent, sticking closely to the meat and highlighting the delicate texture of the pork. The rice is slightly soft, complementing the crispy breading perfectly. The soup is a flavorful red miso broth, which is preferred by some over traditional pork soup. The shredded cabbage is finely cut and light, serving as a refreshing side to the pork cutlet. Overall, the pork cutlet, rice, miso soup, and cabbage are all exceptional. It's evident that Masugi's passion for pork cutlets shines through in this outstanding dish. I look forward to trying other brand pork options in the future. I will definitely be revisiting this restaurant.

Today was a beauty day, starting with an esthetic treatment in Ebisu, followed by hair removal in Ginza, and finishing with a hair salon appointment in Omotesando. I didn't eat anything in the morning and since I usually stay at home, walking around all day left me exhausted. As I was heading to the last hair salon appointment, I was looking for a nice place to eat before heading home. That's when I stumbled upon an interestingly named restaurant and decided to check it out. Yes, it was "tonkatsu.jp". I had seen their name on UberEats a few times before, but the photos of their meat always looked quite fatty and heavy, so I had never tried it. The restaurant is located about a 5-minute walk from Omotesando Station A3 exit. The interior had a few seats at the counter, and the chef and apprentice were diligently frying cutlets and preparing cabbage. The food arrived in about 20 minutes. I ordered the following: - Special Premium Pork Cutlet Set "Dorobuta" for 3990 yen. This restaurant offers a selection of pork types ranging from regular to premium, each with a clear description of taste and texture on a chart. My wife ordered the Premium Pork Loin Cutlet & Fillet Cutlet "Awa Yuki Pork". What's great about this place is that you can order different types and combine them in a half-and-half set when dining with someone else. When the food arrived, we were given a brief explanation about using salt instead of sauce for a better experience. I followed the recommendation and tried the cutlet with salt. The first thing that struck me was the texture rather than the taste. It completely changed my concept of tonkatsu. It was incredibly tender. I was initially hesitant due to the high fat content, but this type of cutlet was so satisfying that I finished it happily. I was truly impressed to have found such delicious tonkatsu. I might not be able to eat tonkatsu anywhere else now. I am so happy to have discovered this place and I definitely want to go back!

I tried the Maru Pork from the brand pork Hosoya, which is from Shibukawa City, Gunma Prefecture, for the first time. The first thing I noticed was how easy it was to eat the fatty parts. It was very light and had a solid sweetness. The mellow taste that doesn't get boring no matter how much you eat. The lean meat had a moderate elasticity, and the more you chew, the more the deliciousness of the meat comes out. The lean meat was also refreshing rather than heavy. A high-quality brand pork with good value for money. I would like to try the pork fillet if I have the chance. It was delicious this time too. Thank you for the meal.

Lately, I have been frequenting various restaurants in an attempt to try all the different pork cutlets available. Today, I decided to order the special premium pork cutlet from TOKYO X, a place I had not tried before. As expected from TOKYO X, the balance between lean meat and fat was perfect, with a delicious combination of savory flavors and a hint of sweetness. The texture was excellent, and I can see why this place is so popular. Surprisingly, the special premium pork cutlet had less fat compared to other brands. Once again, it was a delicious meal. Thank you for the wonderful pork cutlet.

Today, I tried the Azumino Genki Pork from Azumino Eco Farm in Nagano Prefecture. The Genki Pork has the following features: 1) The melting point of the fat is low at 28℃, making it smooth and containing a lot of oleic acid which is gentle on the body. 2) It has about 1.7 times the umami components compared to regular domestic pork, with a richness and smoothness about 1.4 times more, and a low linoleic acid content resulting in a deep yet refreshing taste. 3) It has about 1.8 times the amount of marbling in the lean meat, giving it a soft and fluffy texture. I tried the premium loin and found the meat to be tender and the fat to melt smoothly in my mouth. The umami of the lean meat and the sweetness of the fat were subtle, resulting in a refreshing taste. It is very easy to eat, so even those who are not big fans of fatty meat can enjoy it. I also got the top loin and mini pork fillet cutlet to go. Thank you for the delicious tonkatsu today. I look forward to visiting again next time.

After finishing my errands in Omotesando, I wanted to eat something delicious without any reservations. I searched and found this place nearby, so I decided to give it a try. The restaurant was full inside, but they seated us on the outdoor terrace. I was relieved! There were so many types of pork to choose from, but when I told the staff my preferences, they recommended 2-3 types which was helpful. I don't like fatty meat, so I chose the tenderloin, while my husband went for the loin with more fat. The salt provided was perfect for seasoning, although there were also mustard and sauce available. The rice and miso soup complemented the meal well. If I had to be picky, I would have liked to see lemon sour available, but overall, we were very satisfied. I'm curious about TOKYO X and would like to visit again.

Visited on Saturday afternoon around 1 pm. Luckily, there was no wait time and I could enter the restaurant right away. This time, I ordered the premium loin cutlet set meal made with LYB pork. The same farm as the Cele pork, from the Fuji Farm in Shizuoka Prefecture. They produce about 1,500 heads per year, a small number. Compared to Cele pork, the richness of the lean meat is slightly less, but the fat has a firm sweetness and the meat is tender. It's hard to choose between Cele pork and LYB pork as they each have their own deliciousness. Whether you want to enjoy the richness of the lean meat or the sweetness of the fat. I had seconds of rice and cabbage and finished it in no time. Even if I eat too much of the tonkatsu at this restaurant, I don't feel heavy in my stomach at all. I tend to overeat here. It was delicious once again. Thank you for the meal. I'm looking forward to which brand of pork to choose next time.

When we compared different breeds of pork, we were surprised by how different the texture and flavor were. We ordered two varieties and split them between the two of us. On the left was Tenjiku Kurobuta, and on the right was Dobuta. Tenjiku Kurobuta is known for its light fat content, while Dobuta stood out for its incredibly tender meat. Both had unique characteristics that we enjoyed.

This time, I tried the specialty pork from Gunma Prefecture called Awayuki Pork. Awayuki Pork is a rare breed called China Japan with only 1,500 heads shipped annually, making it a unique and limited brand of pork. It seems that Awayuki Pork is in high demand and sells out quickly due to its limited availability. The meat has a relatively refreshing taste, with a mild umami and sweetness from the lean meat and fat. The texture is tender and very easy to eat. While it's good on its own, it tasted even better with the sweet original sauce from this place. It goes well with rice. If you want to enjoy a hearty meal with tonkatsu, rice, and cabbage, Awayuki Pork, with its refreshing taste and good value, is recommended. Looking forward to trying a different brand of pork next time. Thanks for the delicious tonkatsu meal this time.

A restaurant where you can enjoy tonkatsu made from brand pork lovingly raised all over Japan. I visited this place after making a reservation a month in advance to try the limited 2 servings per day "Meguri Pork" (¥5,900). The course included appetizer of Dorobuta's raw ham, Meguri Pork 1st round Dorobuta (Hokkaido - Elpan Pork Farm) top loin / fillet, Meguri Pork 2nd round Sele Pork (Shizuoka - Fuji Farm) top loin / fillet, Meguri Pork 3rd round Amagi Kurobuta (Shizuoka - Kaneko Livestock) top loin / fillet, palate cleanser, cabbage/red miso soup/pickles, rice white rice or sauce katsudon, dessert sudachi sherbet. I was impressed by the deliciousness of the raw ham appetizer. It was fun to compare the different cuts. The sweetness of the fat was strong and delicious. The 1st round of Meguri Pork was Dorobuta. It was full of umami but light and not at all heavy. Especially the fillet was surprisingly delicious. It was tender and the umami was concentrated. My favorite of the day. The 2nd round was Sele Pork. It had a firm texture and a satisfying bite. It was sweeter and had a richer flavor. The 3rd round was Amagi Kurobuta. The feature was the fatty meat, and the impact when you put it in your mouth was the biggest. With an overwhelming amount of fat, when you take a bite, the sweetness and umami spread throughout your mouth. The fat melts quickly, so it's not heavy. The course included a total of 6 pieces of top loin and fillet, with the rest available as a souvenir to take home. It is recommended to eat it as katsudon the next day. Even the cabbage side dish was not skimped on and was delicious. It was a very satisfying course for the price, with the souvenir included. ◎

Today's featured pork brand is the "Sele Pork" from Fuji Farm in Shizuoka Prefecture. I decided to order the top-quality pork cutlet, as I had previously tried their mini fillet. The Sele Pork is a crossbreed of Japan's native pig breed and a rare Chinese breed called "Mintu." The pork cutlet had a rich meat flavor, and as expected, it was very juicy with a sweet fat and a strong meat umami taste. The tenderness of the meat and the rich flavor made it a delightful pork cutlet. I felt that this particular brand of pork offers great value for its taste experience compared to other brands. Thank you for the delicious meal. I enjoyed it. Let's step up the pace towards conquering all the pork brands.

After a concert, I was looking for a restaurant where I could dine alone and came across this place. It was a restaurant I had been wanting to visit, so I happily made a reservation. The interior was beautiful. The pork cutlet set came in three options: regular, premium, and super premium. When I asked about the difference between premium and super premium, I was told it was the cut of meat and the portion size. In the end, I succumbed to the "super premium" syndrome and ordered the super premium option. They offer a variety of branded pork to choose from, with prices varying significantly. I was having trouble deciding which one to choose when the staff kindly handed me a two-dimensional matrix, like something a business consultant would bring... This only added to my confusion. When they asked about my preference for pork cutlets, I mentioned that I enjoy the taste of pork fat and they recommended the Amau pork. From ordering to serving took about 20 minutes. The cutlet looked beautiful when served. I sprinkled the recommended large salt crystals on one piece and took a bite. Oh, it was delicious. The quality of the fat was so refined, smoothly flowing from my mouth to my throat and stomach. The fat was not heavy at all, but the flavor of the meat was rich. It was dangerously good, and I felt like I could eat as much as I wanted. The red miso soup, pickles, refillable cabbage, and the sauce with a balance of spiciness and sweetness were all fantastic. There were no flaws. However, the issue is the price. While indulging in such a luxurious pork cutlet set meal occasionally may not be a bad thing, I personally don't think it would be my first choice for a solo meal costing 6,000 yen. In this price range, there are other options that I would consider. It's undeniably delicious, but I would like to try a more affordable branded pork next time.

I suddenly felt like eating tonkatsu around Omotesando, so I searched online and visited this place without knowing much about it. It turned out to be a famous restaurant, and the prices were surprising. When I entered and looked at the menu, I realized what the place was all about. They offer a selection of pork brands to choose from! Each brand has its own characteristics listed on a diagram, which helped me decide. I chose the loin from the brand called Tensho Kurobuta, known for its rich flavor. The open kitchen at the counter was visible, which was great to see. The promotion was impressive. The smell of lard used for frying was enticing. The seasoning focused on salt, with sauce also available. When the dish arrived, it was very fatty and rich, undoubtedly delicious. However, I also realized that this kind of fatty pork should not be eaten as tonkatsu. I would like to try it in a shabu-shabu style. I had heartburn all day. The rice, cabbage, red miso soup, pickles (they mentioned natural fermentation), and tableware all showed attention to detail and were delicious. The breadcrumbs were light, and the frying technique was excellent. The chef inside seemed like a wonderful person. Everything was excellent. The counter-only setup gave a special feeling like a small traditional restaurant, with high-class service. If I had to suggest something, it would be nice to have the rice presented in a clay pot right in front of the customers, especially for foreigners. There were many foreign customers, and tonkatsu seems to be popular overseas. Expanding this business to cater to affluent customers in cities like Hong Kong, Singapore, New York, and London would be interesting. Assuming Japan's pork can be exported.

There are many different types of new tonkatsu restaurants, each with their own unique characteristics. I can understand the dedication to each brand. The tonkatsu was simply delicious. However, serving it with all the cut sides facing up may not be the best idea as it cools down quickly.

Around 12:30 on a Sunday afternoon, there were about 3 groups waiting to be seated. Although there was no wait time once I entered, it took about 20 minutes to get my order due to the thick pork cutlets being fried. The menu had a variety of meat options, but you can only eat multiple types of meat if you order the loin and fillet set. I decided to go with the recommended Hokkaido mud pig, which was actually quite filling at 180g of top loin. The taste of the pork fat spread throughout my mouth, leaving a heavy feeling afterwards. While the fat was delicious, the lean meat was slightly tough. At 3500 yen for the tonkatsu, it's not a cheap lunch option, so I rated it slightly lower in terms of satisfaction. Younger diners might enjoy it more.

The store atmosphere, taste, and the owner's care were all amazing and moving! My friend and I ordered the fillet set meal and the loin cutlet set meal, and they kindly served them half and half for us. Thank you for your thoughtfulness. I heard there was a mini minced cutlet service if you register on LINE, but unfortunately, I didn't notice it. I wish they had mentioned it to me. I will definitely register as a friend next time I go!

The livestock major students at Mie Prefectural Akino High School have carefully raised Ise Akari pork, which is considerate of SDGs. This time, they chose this rare brand pork, with only about 100 heads shipped annually and certified as Ise brand, that is only raised at the school in Mie Prefecture. The Ise Akari pork top loin had a gentle taste with sweetness from the fat and umami from the lean meat, making it easy to eat. The delicious minced cutlet was also a treat. Thank you for the wonderful meal once again.

Visited "tonkatsu.jp Omotesando", a tonkatsu restaurant located a 3-minute walk from Omotesando Station. The restaurant seems like it could become one of the top tonkatsu spots in town. It opened 2 years ago and is still a relatively new establishment. Arrived right after opening on a weekday and there was no wait. Was able to enter smoothly. Ordered the Rosu Katsu set made with Iwate Prefecture Kitakami City Tamayama Farm female pork for 1,690 yen. There are various brands of pork available, but chose the classic for the first visit. By adding the "Happiness Menchi Katsu" for 350 yen as a service for adding them as a friend on LINE. It was served in about 15 minutes. The aroma of the oil is very nice! Enjoyed it with the "Kuroshio Genryu Salt" from Yonaguni Island. The tonkatsu made with Iwate pork has a crispy coating, tender and juicy meat, and the fat is sweet and delicious. The Menchi Katsu is very juicy with a burst of meat juices and plenty of minced meat flavor. It's delicious. Enjoyed it until the last bite.

This time, I visited because the premium Ibaruma black pork had just arrived. I arrived around 2 pm on a weekday and was seated at the counter without having to wait in line. It goes without saying, but the premium loin of Ibaruma black pork is incredibly juicy. Not only the marbling but also the firm red meat provides a rich flavor and sweetness, without being too heavy. I once again realized the excellent upbringing and quality of this pork, both in terms of taste and the beauty of the meat cross-section. It has become one of my personal favorite brand of pork. I enjoyed the delicious minced cutlet with the premium loin, along with crispy shredded cabbage, fluffy rice, and I couldn't resist getting seconds of cabbage and rice. I had a delicious meal once again. Thank you. I will visit again soon.

I revisited the restaurant right after summer vacation. I arrived around 10:30 am on Saturday. Since they open at 11:00 am, I wrote my name on the second board at the entrance and passed time at the nearby KINOKUNIYA. I returned right at 11:00 am and was seated. I chose the Prototype M by Mr. Kaneko from the available pork brands this time. The top loin cutlet seemed to be sold out, so I ordered the top loin cutlet and mini pork fillet cutlet set. After enjoying the very juicy and rich in sweetness special minced cutlet, the dishes were served in about 30 minutes. The meat cross-section showed a very clean and exquisite cooking. Both the top loin cutlet and pork fillet cutlet were juicy with a resilient texture, so the more I chewed, the more meat juice overflowed in my mouth, allowing me to fully enjoy the essence of tonkatsu. I could clearly taste the rich umami of the lean meat and the sweetness of the fatty meat, especially the strong sweetness and good mouthfeel. Lately, I have been ordering more pork fillet cutlets, but next time, I definitely want to try the top loin cutlet. Thank you for the amazing tonkatsu once again this time. Looking forward to the next visit.
