I went for lunch at this place. It's a quick eat-and-go kind of spot, so it's always bustling with efficient salarymen working nearby. The atmosphere is like a traditional Japanese restaurant, and the prices are average to slightly high. But the food is delicious, so I'm satisfied. On this day, I had the tuna bowl (1,430 yen). It came with miso soup and chawanmushi, so I think it's quite reasonable. The most popular dish is probably the beef sukiyaki set. I'll try that next time. Since you can't make reservations for lunch, there might be a wait if you go after 12 o'clock.

Shibuya's Japanese restaurant "Aokaki" is a traditional Japanese restaurant where dinner costs over 10,000 yen per person. Their lunch, on the other hand, offers great value with weekly seasonal set meals such as maguro donburi, sukiyaki, yakiniku, and gyu sukiyaki for only 1,000-1,500 yen. Today, I had the sukiyaki lunch which was only 1,300 yen without tax. It's a steal! #Aokaki #Japanese cuisine #Japanese restaurant #Washoku #Set meal #Set lunch #Shibuya #Shibuya lunch #Shibuya Hikarie #Hikarie #Great value #Maguro donburi #Sukiyaki #Sukiyaki set meal #Yakiniku #Gourmet #Tokyo gourmet #Tabelog #Delicious food #Tokyo #Tokyo trip #Gurufacu certified ambassador #ToGuru #Tokyo gourmet report #tokyo_gourmet_report

I visited for lunch. The menu was extensive, ranging from seafood to meat dishes, and even kaiseki cuisine which seems to require reservations! I visited on yakiniku day, so I ordered the yakiniku set meal. Not only the main dish, but also the side dishes and miso soup at this Japanese restaurant were delicious! I visited alone, but the staff were very kind and accommodating.

I went for lunch because it was recommended on YouTube. Dinner is said to be very expensive, but lunch is affordable and easy to go to. I had the seasonal set meal from the menu. I think it was beef sukiyaki... The taste was very delicious. The interior of the restaurant is calm, so you can relax and enjoy your meal. The seats are in a Japanese-style room, so be prepared to share the room with other customers. If you don't mind, it's not a problem.

Arrived a little before 12 o'clock on a regular day. The atmosphere was nice, typical of a Japanese restaurant. I was guided to a tatami room and ordered the recommended lunch, the Gyu-don Yanagawa-nabe for 1,100 yen. It was served in just 15 minutes after ordering. The portion for 1,100 yen was great! And you can have free refills of rice. The gentle seasoning and the texture of the burdock added a nice touch. I just wished there was a spoon included with the Yanagawa-nabe so I could enjoy the broth without wasting any. It had been a while since I sat in a tatami room, so my legs fell asleep, haha. Thank you for the meal!

I arrived at the popular Aokaki-san restaurant in the middle of Miyamasuzaka in Shibuya, just across from the post office, before 12 o'clock, as they tend to sell out quickly. Although the dinner menu can be quite expensive, ranging from over 10,000 yen, their lunch options are more affordable, starting from 1,100 yen to 5,500 yen for 9 different choices. I ordered the most popular dish, the beef sukiyaki set for 1,430 yen. It was served in a hot iron pot, and I enjoyed mixing the beef sukiyaki with beaten egg over rice. I also savored the side dishes such as grated fish with daikon radish, salad, and enjoyed the flavorful chikuwa (tube-shaped fish paste) and grilled tofu soaked in broth. I asked for a free refill of rice and created my own beef bowl by putting the remaining sukiyaki on top of the rice. I finished the meal with miso soup and pickles. It was a delicious dining experience, and now I am moving on to the next restaurant for my next meal.

Located in the middle of Miyamasaka in Shibuya, on the opposite side of Shibuya Post Office, there is a Japanese cuisine restaurant called "Aogaki". While dinner at this restaurant costs over 10,000 yen, they offer 9 lunch menu options ranging from 1,100 yen to 5,500 yen. I arrived at 11:35 on a weekday and was seated in a tatami room with 4 rooms available. The room I was led to had seating for 2 people at a low table and seating for 4 people at a low table. There were 2 groups of 3 people as previous customers and 2 groups of 3 people as subsequent customers. By 11:40, the room was fully occupied, and I enjoyed my lunch in the tatami seating. I ordered the Beef Sukiyaki Nabe for 1,430 yen, and it was served in about 10 minutes. The sukiyaki ingredients included beef, cotton tofu, shirataki noodles, onions, enoki mushrooms, leeks, mizuna, and chikuwa. The salad consisted of tomatoes, lettuce, mizuna, and onions, and the side dish was cucumber pickles and minced ankimo. The miso soup contained tofu, wakame seaweed, and mizuna, and the rice was refillable. It was my first time trying chikuwa in tamago sukiyaki, which is a type of processed fish cake commonly found in Tokyo. As I enjoyed the sukiyaki and had a second helping of rice, I finished off by pouring the remaining egg over the rice mixed with the beef from the sukiyaki. It was a delicious meal, and I left feeling satisfied.

Located along the Shibuya Miyamasuzaka street, this Japanese restaurant is known for its popular lunch menu that sells out almost every day by noon (lol). It's a must to arrive before 12:00 to secure a seat at this popular spot. On this day, I arrived at 11:40 and was lucky to snag one of the last seats as it was already full. The lunch set I ordered included beef sukiyaki hot pot with raw egg, rice, miso soup, salad, side dish, and pickles. The rice and miso soup are free for refills, which is a great deal. The beef was tender and juicy, the portion was generous, and the seasoning was just right, making it a delightful meal. Although dipping the beef in raw egg for a Tamago Kake Gohan (TKG) finish would have been nice, I decided to end my meal after finishing one bowl. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant and ordered the delicious beef sukiyaki set for 1430 yen. All seats were tatami-style. I was impressed by the beautiful presentation of the dish, which exuded elegance and quality. Moreover, you can have unlimited rice and miso soup refills. The sukiyaki was undoubtedly exquisite. I believe this restaurant offers top-notch service and value for lunch in Shibuya.

I visited a Japanese restaurant called "Aogaki" located on the basement floor of a building about a 3-minute walk from Shibuya Station around 1 pm on a certain day in January 2023. When I entered, I had to wait for about 5 minutes for a table in the tatami seating area. The restaurant seemed quite busy, but there weren't many solo diners. I sat down in the tatami seating area and ordered from a seasoned female server. After about 10 minutes, the food arrived, but it was not what I had ordered. I received the "Weekly Seasonal Set Meal (Beef Yakiniku Hot Pot, Shirasu Oroshi)" for ¥1,100 instead. When I pointed out the mistake, I was told they couldn't change it. Although it was fine, I couldn't help but think it was not the best service for a Japanese restaurant that is also used for entertaining guests. The set meal included beef yakiniku hot pot with shirasu oroshi, side dishes, rice, miso soup, and pickles. The beef was cooked with eggs, burdock, and a sweet sauce. It had a satisfying taste with ingredients like trefoil, green onions, and enoki mushrooms. The mild sweetness paired well with rice. Sprinkling some sansho pepper added a refreshing aftertaste. The shirasu oroshi, when eaten with soy sauce and rice, was a bit lacking in quantity. I wished there were more shirasu to enjoy. I also had a side dish of simmered vegetables and shredded egg, along with pickles. I finished the meal by balancing the yakiniku hot pot and rice. The portion was decent, not too much or too little. Overall, I had a satisfying meal at "Aogaki" in Shibuya, despite the service issues. I would hesitate to visit for dinner, but for lunch, considering the location and food quality, it's not a bad choice.

The other day, I visited this place for lunch for the first time, and today, I had a small business lunch meeting there. They mentioned it would take about 30 minutes longer than last time because there were more customers, but that was not a problem for me. However, it seemed noisier than last time. As I chatted with the staff, I could tell they were quite busy attending to customers. Hmm, it's a calm and peaceful place, so I felt like it should be cherished. Today, I had tempura, and they made it for me after I requested it. It was excellent. It's a great restaurant. I want to cherish it. Let's be careful about last-minute cancellations and changes in the number of reservations.

I heard good things about the lunch at Aokaki-san's place, so I decided to go. Even though I was considering ordering a slightly expensive menu, I ended up ordering the basic seasonal set meal, and it was really great. It came with both fish and meat, and the best part was that I could eat slowly. It was a wonderful experience. We were seated in a tatami room, and one of our younger colleagues accidentally fell because his legs fell asleep after finishing his meal! Despite this little mishap, the staff kindly took care of everyone, especially those who were wearing kimonos. I'm really sorry about that. The meal was excellent.

[Nearest Station] Shibuya [Visit Date] Weekday 12:00 ~ Visit [Purpose] Solo Lunch [Overview] A Japanese restaurant that makes you forget the hustle and bustle of the city. The traditional atmosphere inside the restaurant allows you to feel the essence of Japanese culture. They serve authentic Japanese cuisine at night, and offer set meals and bento boxes for lunch. You can choose from 5-6 menu options for lunch, and they also have limited-time specials that change weekly, so be sure to check them out. It's a delight to be able to enjoy a quality set meal for 1000 yen, and the elegance of the place also makes it suitable for entertaining guests. [Menu] Choose from the weekly specials. ・Chicken Nanban [Note] In the midst of the scorching heat, I stumbled upon a nice Japanese restaurant underground while looking for a cool getaway!! Despite it being the peak time of 12:00 on a weekday, the restaurant was not crowded, giving off a hidden gem vibe. The room we were seated in was a tatami room that could accommodate 4 groups, but there were several other rooms as well. It was a nice experience to enjoy a set meal in a tatami room after a long time, feeling the traditional atmosphere. Chicken Nanban. Dip the crispy fried chicken in the sauce, generously top it with a tangy tartar sauce, and enjoy. It's truly a delight to be able to enjoy the quality of a nighttime meal for lunch!! The attentive service by the proprietress also makes me want to visit again. Thank you for the meal. *Rating at the time of posting: 3.36

Category: [Tokyo] Set Meal ☆ Shibuya Lunch Recently, even when a restaurant announces its opening online, there may not even be a sign outside. You can really feel the confusion surrounding the opening of restaurants due to the impact of the coronavirus. So, I wasn't sure what to do, but I decided to suddenly try going into a place nearby that I had been to a few times before, but didn't have much of an impression of and couldn't even remember what I had eaten there. From the font of the blue persimmon sign, you can infer that there is some connection to the kaiseki restaurant in Aoyama, but it's a mystery how there is a restaurant in Shibuya that offers private rooms for business entertainment. The lunch menu includes some inexpensive options and the space is comfortable, but the mystery seems to create an air of exclusivity, and there doesn't seem to be much of a crowd. The Beef Yakiniku Oshinko Shirasu Oroshi (beef yakiniku with grated whitebait) for 1,100 yen comes with rice and miso soup with free refills. The quality is solid, and considering the price range, it's quite a good deal. There were also several women dressed in kimonos, making it even more intriguing. It seems like they can survive with their regular customers at night. With daily specials available, if people in nearby companies were aware of this place, they could come here every day. However, the entrance is a bit intimidating, even though the prices are affordable for young people in Shibuya. Restaurants like this really serve delicious rice and miso soup, both of which are free for refills. I can definitely recommend this place for lunch.

Shibuya lunch. On this day, I headed towards Miyamasuzaka. As I was going up Miyamasuzaka, about halfway up, I noticed the sign of this restaurant. Next to the cool green sign, there was also a lunch menu displayed. I had been curious about this restaurant for a while but never had the chance to go in. This time, I decided to take the plunge and go in. The restaurant is located in the basement of a building. You go down the stairs from the street of Miyamasuzaka. As you descend the stairs, you enter a calm Japanese atmosphere. There is a sense of luxury, and I couldn't help but wonder if it was okay to casually have lunch here. I passed through the noren curtain and entered the restaurant. I was greeted by a woman in a kimono. I informed her that I was dining alone, and she led me to a tatami seat. There were about four tables available, and I sat at a table for two. I looked at the lunch menu. They offered options like tuna bowl, simmered fish, and grilled fish set meals, with the lunch kaiseki priced at 5500 yen. Among these, I ordered the black pork stamina hot pot and tuna sashimi rice bowl that was written on the sign outside. It was probably the weekly changing seasonal set meal. The price was 1100 yen including tax. The waiting time was about 6-7 minutes. The meal was quite substantial, more like a set meal than a lunch set. I started eating. The black pork stamina hot pot consisted of pork, leeks, bean sprouts, onions, kimchi, and a raw egg. It had a spicy miso flavor, like a pork kimchi hot pot. But the seasoning was elegant and went well with rice. I wanted to have it with beer. The tuna sashimi rice bowl had diced tuna topped with grated yam. I could taste the richness of the tuna, and the yam had a good viscosity. When eaten with wasabi and soy sauce, it was a great accompaniment to rice. It came with rice, miso soup, a side dish, and pickles. The miso soup was simple with seaweed and tofu, but it had a delicious broth. Rice and miso soup were refillable. The service from the woman was polite and attentive, fitting the upscale atmosphere of the restaurant. She even offered me more rice, showing attention to detail. I thought this place might be a bit intimidating, but it turned out not to be. I'd like to come back for drinks at night sometime.

[3.5 rating] Visited on March 31st. A restaurant located about a 5-minute walk from Shibuya Station. Arrived in the early afternoon on a weekday. Saw 3 groups of customers already there, mostly elderly. The interior was Japanese-style with several tables on tatami mats where you take off your shoes. It was very quiet with no music playing. Ordered the seasonal set meal for 1000 yen (excluding tax). Positive points: The miso soup had trefoil and a rich broth. The rice was soft with a hint of sweetness. There was also pickled radish and carrot, as well as eggplant and what seemed like mackerel in a marinade, and shabu-shabu. The pickles still had a crisp texture. The shabu-shabu, likely pork, had a sweet taste. I was surprised by the quality of the food at this price. Negative points: The service was surprisingly slow, almost like an eel restaurant. The rice was a bit too soft and sweet for my liking. The pickles were slightly too sour. The restaurant was so quiet that I found myself wanting some background music. The meat had a sweet taste but was a bit tough. Thank you for the meal.

Blue Persimmon is a place where you can easily enjoy Japanese cuisine. It is located a 3-minute walk from Shibuya Station, across from the Miyamasuzaka post office. Start the new year with lunch here. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ◆ Interior ◆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ You can relax in the tatami mat room with hanging scrolls, and take off your shoes to enjoy a leisurely meal. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ◆ Food ◆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 【Seasonal meal set... 1,100 yen including tax】 * Free rice and miso soup refills I wanted to order the "Daytime meal set" with a variety of dishes, but it wasn't available today due to supply reasons, so I chose this instead. - Beef tofu with raw egg - Grilled mackerel with salt - Dried daikon radish - Rice, miso soup, pickles All dishes are carefully prepared with high quality ingredients and bold flavors that appeal to many. The beef tofu is essentially sukiyaki. It's a great value for this price. The dishes are served in proper tableware, which adds to the pleasant dining experience. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ◆ Service ◆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ The staff, dressed in traditional Japanese attire, provide a calm and attentive service. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ◆ Summary ◆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ If you want to enjoy Japanese cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere in Shibuya (at a reasonable price), this restaurant is definitely at the top of the list. It's amazing that all this is only 1,100 yen. In conclusion, it's a place that offers top quality for around 1,000 yen for lunch.

青柿 (Aokaki) is a place where you can easily enjoy Japanese cuisine for lunch. It is located just a 3-minute walk from Shibuya Station, across from the Miyamasaka Post Office. ◆ Atmosphere ◆ The interior is purely Japanese style, with tatami mats and hanging scrolls. You can relax and take off your shoes while enjoying your meal. ◆ Food ◆ [Lunch Set Menu... 2,200 yen including tax] Served in a two-tiered box with a lid! After taking a photo, we closed the lid and enjoyed each dish like a course meal (laughs). - Sashimi: sea bream, tuna, bonito. The addition of sea bream skin was nice, providing a chewy texture. - Simmered dish: perfectly cooked and flavorful. The knife skills and broth flavor were excellent. - Main dish: beef steak. A generous portion that could easily be a meal on its own. The garlic flavor was strong, so it's best enjoyed after the sashimi and simmered dish. The side vegetables were crunchy and well-prepared. - Side dish: even the small hijiki dish was delightful. - Soup: a comforting miso soup with mitsuba leaves. Refills are available, and I had a second serving. - Rice: shiny and delicious. Refills are available, and I had two servings (the second one was the best!). - Pickles: well-made and flavorful. ◆ Service ◆ The waitresses in traditional attire provide calm and friendly service. They are surprisingly casual, so there's no need to feel nervous. ◆ Summary ◆ It had been a while since I last visited, but it was still wonderful. A perfect place for a "relaxed lunch in Shibuya." It's a place where you can truly enjoy a calm lunch in Shibuya.

Around 12:45, I arrived at the restaurant and ended up sharing a table with someone, but the table was spacious so it didn't bother me at all. All the staff serving were wearing kimonos, which added to the relaxing atmosphere. The lunch menu is mostly around 1300 yen, but they also have a daily seasonal special for 1000 yen, which is a great deal! Today's special was tempura with a light and crispy batter, soft rice that paired well with the tempura, and miso soup with a rich flavor but not too overpowering, maybe made with red miso commonly used in the Kanto region? It felt like all the ingredients were of high quality. I enjoyed a leisurely and delicious Japanese lunch, forgetting about the hustle and bustle of Shibuya!

Happy New Year. Today is the first day back at work, and I decided to start with a special lunch at this elegant Japanese restaurant. They offer high-quality Japanese cuisine at reasonable prices. The seasonal set menu starts from 1,100 yen. It had been a while since my last visit, and I noticed that the menu had changed. The restaurant has a traditional Japanese atmosphere with tatami mats and hanging scrolls, allowing guests to relax and enjoy their meal. The seasonal basket assortment priced at 1,650 yen included sashimi, grilled fish, tempura, simmered dishes, and more. Each dish was carefully prepared and the dashi (broth) was especially delicious. The portion sizes were modest, but perfect for savoring each dish slowly. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience.
