ウオッチメン
I don't eat horse meat in Ikebukuro, so I went to eat in another area, but this time it was too hot and I didn't have the energy to move, so I tried this place for the first time. (The Tamachi store is closed on Sundays and holidays.) I made a reservation over the phone and confirmed that I got a reservation. It wasn't a definite answer, so I hope there are other reservations as well. When you enter the side of Fukushin, which has closed down from Meiji Street, there is a store. There are no other stores on this street, so I don't usually pass by. The entrance is open, maybe for COVID-19 measures, but they guided me to the back where it's cool. I ordered the all-you-can-drink single item for 1500 yen (using a coupon). First, Sapporo draft beer. Yeah, it's good. If ordered individually, it's 590 yen, which is expensive. The appetizer is a 5-item assortment for 1790 yen including sirloin (sweet and delicious), lean meat and tategami sandwich (the fat of tategami and lean meat is amazing), fillet (diced and tender, delicious), premium loin (has an aged taste, delicious), and tomahawk (futae-go, delicious and refillable). Each is 3 pieces, so it's quite a deal for two people. Horse meat pate for 690 yen, which I enjoyed with mustard. It's voluminous and delicious. Horse meat hamburger for 1290 yen, also very filling. Not much of a horse meat taste, but there's plenty of sauce, cheese, and hash browns. I also ordered additional bread (290 yen). Overall, the food is excellent, but the problem lies in the drinks. The highball (Dewar's) is almost like water with weak carbonation. I ordered other drinks as well, and overall they were all weak. Looking at the menu, each drink costs close to 600 yen, so the total bill can add up quickly if you eat and drink. It seems like I won't be able to visit often without opting for the course plus all-you-can-drink or all-you-can-drink single items. The food is delicious though.
