After finishing my errands in Koto-ku, I rode my bicycle to Ningyocho. It's hot! My purpose in Ningyocho is to visit "Oniyanma," a renowned udon shop that has been listed in the "Top 100 Udon Shops" multiple times. I wonder if there will be a line at 1:30 pm on a Sunday. As expected, it's a standing-eating style shop, so the turnover seems to be good. There's only one person buying a food ticket. Let's check the menu on the ticket machine. I decided on the following: "Cold 'Large Serving' Chicken Tempura & Chikuwa Tempura Bukkake (710 yen)" and "Onsen Tamago (80 yen)" including tax. After purchasing the food ticket, I enter the shop. I'm instructed to put the food ticket in a basket in the middle of the counter. It's important to remember the contents of the ticket to avoid mixing up with others. After waiting for about 3 minutes at the counter, the udon is placed on a tray in the middle of the counter for self-service. The udon has a firm texture and a strong elasticity that pushes back against your teeth. The broth is light and the aftertaste is watery, but it has a solid umami flavor. Next is the Chikuwa Tempura, which has a crispy texture and a delicious flavor. It's really tasty and I could eat as many as I want. The Chicken Tempura is also delicious, with a lightly crispy batter that retains the flavor of the meat. The ginger adds a subtle taste that complements the dish. The Onsen Tamago topping, when cracked, blends into the soup. I wish it was a bit firmer to enjoy it separately. I should have ordered the "Half-Cooked Egg Tempura (150 yen)" like the person next to me. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the standing-eating experience. Delicious udon is easily recognized in the bukkake style. It's very affordable and I'm full. The Chikuwa Tempura was so tasty. After my first visit to Chuo Ward, I wanted to try authentic udon, so I went to "Oniyanma" in Ningyocho. It's a standing udon shop. Inside the shop, there were mostly salarymen working nearby. I ordered the cold large tempura udon with green onions for 750 yen. The texture of the udon is really good. It's difficult to bite through. The tempura is also delicious. It doesn't feel too greasy for fried food. Thank you for the meal.

The station is a 3-minute walk from Ningyocho Station. I feel like Ningyocho Station itself has become a bit quieter compared to before the pandemic, but it is still a town with various restaurants lining up and has an adult atmosphere. Despite that, I couldn't resist going to Oniyanma, even though I feel like something is off. Oh well, I just really wanted to eat udon. I haven't had Oniyanma since I tried it at a different store once. I ordered a set menu and enjoyed the firm and chewy noodles that I like. The kashiwaten was also delicious. If I come across it again, I will probably stop by. Thank you for the meal.

Oniyanma is a place where justice and friendship are their motto. It's a standing-only shop near Ningyocho intersection that can fit about 7 people. During lunchtime, there is usually a line. On a hot day, I had the grated daikon and chicken tempura. The chicken tempura here is made with chicken thigh, so it's juicy like fried chicken but tastes like tempura. The udon noodles are thick and chewy. Squeeze some sudachi on top and enjoy the smooth texture. It's a taste that makes you crave for more. The fact that they are opening more branches is proof of how delicious it is. I will definitely go back again.

I used it for Sunday lunch. I had some business at the nearby Daiso, so I stopped by Oniyanma for lunch. Since it was close to 2 o'clock, I bought cold meat topping from the vending machine outside and entered the store smoothly. As expected, the noodles at Oniyanma were chewy and delicious.

It is close to Ningyocho Station, but it is also about a 13-minute walk from Kayabacho Station. Since it was still hot weather, there were many cold menu options. I purchased the Tempura Bucake for 580 yen from the ticket machine before entering. The service was very speedy as soon as I entered. I stood between two other customers. The noodles were firm with still warm green beans, shrimp tempura, large chicken tempura, and green onions. I added some ginger from the counter. It was just the right amount for a meal in the evening. The broth was decent. Overall, it was a satisfying restaurant in terms of total satisfaction rather than just taste.

It was a day off, but I visited a company where I used to work with my colleagues. We had decided to meet quite early, so I arrived at Ningyocho Station early to avoid being late. Feeling a bit hungry, I stopped by this famous udon restaurant. I have been to many of their locations before. Since it was still hot, I tried their cold udon for the first time. I ordered the "cold tori chikuwa" and waited for a while. This restaurant is a standing-style eatery. After a short wait, my udon was ready. It came with kashiwa tempura and chikuwa tempura, a decent portion. The cold broth made it easy to eat, and I finished it in no time. A convenient and delicious udon place.

Oniyanma @ Ningyocho Took a break with the scent of sudachi Long time no see~ I visited this place when it first opened (sweat) There are many famous shops in this area, so it's hard to get a turn Soy sauce with grated daikon About forty years ago, I had soy sauce udon for the first time in Takamatsu. I still can't forget that impact. When it comes to Sanuki udon, this is a popular choice for me. Daikon radish with sudachi and soy sauce This combination goes down smoothly even in hot weather. She had chicken tempura and chikuwa tempura I'm a bit peculiar because I don't usually like tempura on my udon But the crispy fried chikuwa tempura left an impression Ah, it was delicious! I bought the meal ticket and it took less than a minute to be served That speediness of serving is just what I like. I thoroughly enjoyed the udon at Oniyanma.

I visited this restaurant for lunch based on its good reputation on Tabelog, as Ningyocho was an away game for me. I ordered the "Regular" mixed tempura of chicken and fish cake with grated radish (590 yen) and added shredded kelp on top, using the ticket machine. The system was linked to the shop, where you put your meal ticket in a basket. The shop is a standing-eating style, and the food was served in about 5 minutes. The udon noodles didn't have a very strong texture. The chicken and fish cake tempura were not freshly fried, but they were still tasty. Since it was my first visit, I slightly regret not trying the broth. However, the cost-performance ratio was excellent!

■Tempura and fish cake skewer (warm) for 590 yen. When you buy a meal ticket from the vending machine, it seems that the information flows into the restaurant, so there is no need to show it to the staff. You are encouraged to put the ticket in the tray piled up next to it and wait. This may be a little confusing for first-time visitors. The taste is undeniably delicious. □Payment in cash.

✼••┈┈┈┈••Customer Service••┈┈┈┈••✼ When purchasing from the food ticket machine, there is a system that connects to the inside, so they know what you ordered. Even though it's a one-person operation, they work diligently and you can feel the craftsmanship. ✼••┈┈┈┈••Ordered Item••┈┈┈┈••✼ ◉ Cold 'Regular' Tendon & Chikuwa Tempura with grated daikon - 590 yen including tax ✼••┈┈┈┈••Impressions••┈┈┈┈••✼ It seemed like there was a system in place where they can see what you ordered when you purchase from the food ticket machine. I was told to put the ticket into the basket on the counter right after buying it, so they seem to keep track of the orders. It's amazing that they are able to handle everything by themselves! I asked if they fry the tempura after receiving the order, and they said they fry small batches in advance. The turnover rate is quite high due to the standing-eating style. I chose the recommended item at the top of the ticket machine this time. It comes with both grated daikon and bukkake sauce, but the price is the same!! Getting both Chikuwa Tempura and Tendon for 590 yen is a steal! It's impressive that you can have just Udon without tempura for only 350 yen. It's described as Sanuki Udon, and the noodles are chewy with a nice texture, not too firm. The thickness of the noodles is just right, not too thick or thin. Personally, I prefer thick noodles, but the chewy texture was satisfying and delicious. The Chikuwa Tempura was delicious, hot and freshly made! The Tendon was also juicy and warm, absolutely delicious. There are branches all over Tokyo, so if you haven't been yet, you should definitely give it a try! ✼••┈┈┈┈••Chit-chat••┈┈┈┈••✼ I had work near Ningyocho on that day, so I decided to stop by this place that I had been curious about. I actually really love udon, it's my favorite type of noodle.

Visited the place because I heard they serve chewy udon noodles. I had already eaten dinner, so I ordered a light and simple cold udon. The udon arrived in about 5 minutes, with slightly rectangular noodles. It was indeed delicious, but I felt like it lacked some firmness. I wonder if adding a side of kashiwa tempura would change the impression next time...?

Located just a 1-minute walk from Ningyocho Station A3 exit, "Oniyanma Ningyocho" is a popular udon restaurant listed on Tabelog's top 100 list. With its main branch in Gotanda and over ten locations in Tokyo, this restaurant specializes in Sanuki udon. The menu includes options like plain, bukkake, and grated soy sauce udon, as well as toppings like tempura. The restaurant opens early in the morning and has about 8 standing counter seats with dividers. Each seat is equipped with grated ginger, fried tempura bits, and dipping sauce. The "Cold Grated Soy Sauce Udon (regular)" for 350 yen comes with udon noodles, grated daikon radish, green onions, and sudachi lime. You can pour the fried tempura bits and dipping sauce provided on the table over the noodles. The udon noodles have a chewy and sticky texture, which is quite enjoyable. The grated daikon radish, soy sauce, and fried tempura bits add nice flavors. Squeezing the sudachi lime over the noodles enhances the refreshing taste. I recently tried the udon at "Oniyanma Kichijoji" and was impressed by the chewy texture. I thought it might be unique to that branch, but after trying it here, I realized that all "Oniyanma" locations offer this quality. If you enjoy chewy noodles, I highly recommend trying this restaurant. In the Tokyo ramen scene, there is a trend for chewy thick noodles made with "mochi princess," so if you like that type of noodle, you should definitely give this place a try.

It's been about 7-8 years since I last visited my favorite Oniyanma restaurant. I used to go there twice a week. It's nostalgic. I found out just before going that it's a stand-up style restaurant. The one I used to go to in Naka-Meguro had seating for eating, so maybe it varies by location. I usually ordered warm udon with tempura chicken and tempura bits piled on top, but today I chose the chilled udon with tempura chicken and fish cake (regular size). Yes, this is it, this is it!!! Everything is just right!!! The texture, the broth, the tempura, everything!!! It doesn't have a special punch to it, but everything comes together and tastes delicious. Personally, I think this is the kind of flavor that you wouldn't get tired of even if you ate it every week. Since it's a stand-up restaurant, the price is a bit lower than the one in Naka-Meguro. Haha.

In September 2009, a self-service Sanuki udon chain store called Marugame Seimen opened on Shibuya Park Street, sparking an unprecedented Sanuki udon boom in Tokyo. The main contributor to this boom was Oniyan Maru, founded by Yoshihiro Ohshita from Marugame City, who saw a business opportunity in offering delicious Sanuki udon at affordable prices. The first store opened in Gotanda in June 2010, and since then, they have expanded their branches to areas like Higashi-Shinagawa, Shinbashi, Naka-Meguro, Ningyocho, Nippori, Ochanomizu, Shibuya, Toyosu, and Kichijoji. During the Bon festival period on a Saturday, I stopped by the Ningyocho store after buying thick fried tofu at Awa-Yokocho. Established in December 2017, it is located right by the A3 exit of Ningyocho Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line. The prices are quite reasonable, and the ordering system using the ticket machine outside is efficient. I ordered the chicken and fish cake udon and a side of fried tofu. The udon had a great texture and flavor, and the tempura was freshly fried and delicious. It was a satisfying meal.

After visiting around 12 o'clock, there were about 10 people lined up, but we were able to enter in about 10 minutes. The turnover rate is impressive. I ordered the "Toriten Chikutaten Bukkake" for ¥590. It's so cheap, especially for getting two chikuwa and chicken tempura. Is this a standing eating price? If there's a restaurant like this nearby, I would definitely go back. The udon is not outstanding, but the chicken tempura is delicious and the balance is great. Thank you for the meal.

On a regular day at 11:50 am, I managed to get in without waiting at the standing udon shop in Ningyocho. It was my first visit in a while. I ordered the bukkake udon (cold) with chikuwa tempura and tororo konbu. The total was around 670 yen. If you like tempura, getting the set with tempura might be cheaper. The udon was as delicious as ever. It seemed a bit lighter in flavor compared to the hot version, but that might just be me. The tororo konbu was really good. I should have ordered more of it. By the time I left after eating, there was already a line forming outside the shop.

This is a standing udon restaurant that I have been relying on for a year. Don't worry about the oil solidifying in the cold meat udon, it has a strong flavor that gives you stamina, delicious broth, and the fresh ginger cools your body. The grated soy sauce is also delicious! Of course, chicken tempura is their specialty, but in the summer, I recommend the meat.

Visit on 7/27/2023 (Thursday). With the hot days continuing, cold udon noodles have become more popular. I went to "Sunada Dondon" in front of Suitengu Shrine to have kake udon, but I felt like having more udon, so I searched and visited this place. Despite having had a not-so-great experience at another branch before, I hesitated for a moment, but it was hot, close by, so I went. The standing-only shop had a few customers inside. The udon was served in a few minutes. By the way, I just learned what to call the place where you eat while standing. It's called a standing counter, standing eating area, or standing table, perhaps. I'll try to come up with a clever name for it. Now, the noodles and broth at this place were both delicious. The udon had the perfect combination of firmness and softness typical of Sanuki udon, and the tasty broth was enhanced by dried baby sardines. It's a delight to be able to quickly enjoy udon of this quality in the city. Thank you for the meal!

Oniyanma is the third store, but the taste is consistently delicious at all locations. The chicken tempura is still delicious. It has a crispy texture like fritters. It's a must-visit restaurant where you can't go wrong and the cost performance is good, so I always end up going in no matter which store I visit!

Oniyanma Ningyocho branch has been eating udon more often recently. It's all because of summer. This popular branch of the main store in Gotanda has been selected as one of the top 100 restaurants on Tabelog. It's great to be able to eat quickly while standing. Toriten & Chikuwaten Bukkake Udon for 590 yen is very reasonably priced. The dashi broth has a delicious and clear taste of iriko. The noodles have a good chewiness and are excellent. The tempura may have a slight pre-fried feel, but it's crispy and quite delicious. The tempura at the main store may be better, but I might prefer the udon here. It may depend on the season and condition, but in any case, it's delicious udon. Thank you for the meal! #Udon #Oniyanma #Ningyocho #Lunch #TabelogTop100 #Tempura #Chikuwaten #Toriten
