go-go-unagi
Anyway, the cost performance is good... It's 1000 yen cheaper than other shops. The shop is very clean and has a similar atmosphere to Daikokuya in Kyoto. Jazz music is playing, creating a calming atmosphere. In addition to grilled eel, you can also eat grilled white eel, which makes you feel that eel restaurants are really nice! I want to come back to a shop where I can have such a good experience. I'm really happy to have found such a shop. By the way, they source their rice from a rice shop in the nearby shopping street. They use Koshihikari rice and cook it in a feather pot. But more than that, it was exceptionally delicious compared to other shops. Reservation: Walk-in around 12:10. Unexpectedly, advance reservations are required, but they allowed me to enter as a solo diner... I'm very grateful!! Due to COVID, it seems that they are not allowing many customers inside, normally only offering takeout. I placed my order and waited outside for about 15 minutes. If there are cancellations, they seem to allow dining in. Avoid visiting in large groups for now. Order: I ordered the Matsutake set. Among them, there is a set of grilled eel and grilled white eel, so I chose that. The price is the same as the Matsutake set. I also ordered liver sashimi and liver. You need to make a reservation for this course more than a month in advance. But the cost performance of this course is excellent. Killing time outside: I visited the nearby Shōkonsha shrine. It is very well maintained, with a reproduction of the main house of Shōkōsha, where Sakamoto Ryōma's school was located. There is also the grave of Yoshida Torajirō Matsukage and donations from Choshu-born Meiji Restoration activists, making you feel the history. The shopping street on the approach has many cafes and stylish shops, so you can enjoy other lunches as well. It's my first time in this city, but it's a very nice city. Grilled white eel arrived: The texture is firm and rich in flavor, with a size of 4 pieces. There are quite a few bones, but it's not bothersome. It's quite tender but doesn't melt completely. It's delicious when dipped in wasabi soy sauce. Half of it was served, but it was very delicious. Grilled eel: The texture is tender and melts in your mouth. There are some bones, but it's tasty. The sauce is slightly on the salty side, but the saltiness is mild. So you can really taste the sweetness of the eel. On the other hand, the rice sauce is rich and plentiful. It's delicious. The rice grains are very large and tasty, with a firm texture. I'll ask later what kind of rice they use. Liver sashimi: The liver is very fresh. The freshness and chewiness are top-notch. The saltiness is moderate and delicious. The landlady told me to take my time and enjoy it, which made me laugh.
