Yes, I will post a review going back about six months. I'm sorry m(__)m I always make it a point to have a feast on Christmas, so I was wondering what to do in 2022... and decided to go for a tempura course of my favorite food instead of French or Italian cuisine! There were several tempura restaurants that I had been interested in, but among them, I was most curious about the tempura restaurant run by Yamano-ue Hotel. I often go to GINZA SIX area, but there are many expensive restaurants inside SIX, so I entered for the first time. I reserved the course "Omakase (Ha)" for 22,000 yen per person. I love tempura, and since it was Christmas, I booked the best course ✨ Tempura was served in the order of the course... two prawns, ginkgo nuts, white fish wrapped in shiso leaves, lotus root, eggplant (I love eggplant tempura so much that I foolishly ate it all before taking a picture, I'm an idiot), oysters, mushrooms, sea urchin wrapped in shiso leaves, sweet potatoes, scallops, asparagus, and conger eel. Everything was delicious, but what left a lasting impression was the white fish wrapped in shiso leaves and sweet potatoes. The fluffy white fish and crispy shiso leaves melted in the mouth, delicately fleeting but delicious! I had only eaten sweet potatoes in New Year's simmered dishes before, but the strong flavor and sweetness were well utilized, making it fluffy and with a sweet potato-like dessert feel. Finally, you can have red miso soup, pickles, and tempura in a tempura bowl, tempura tea, or tempura rice bowl. On this day, I had tempura tea, and my mother had tempura rice bowl. Courses tend to fill you up, so I tend to choose the light tempura tea. After the meal, we also had Japanese-style ice cream. It was matcha or roasted green tea flavor that day. My mother and I each ordered one. By the way, even though we had so much tempura, we ended up ordering Maru-ju (sweet potato) in the middle... our gluttonous side. This Maru-ju was surprisingly huge! The waiter said it's big, so it will take some time, but it was really huge! When you sprinkle a little brandy on it, the aroma is good, and the simple sweet taste is well brought out. It's practically an adult dessert. A while ago, when I went to Yoko-ten in Azabu-Juban (I'm sorry for not writing a review), the dishes were served at an incredible speed, so even though the food was delicious, I couldn't fully enjoy it and was a little disappointed. However, here, with the relaxed and attentive service and the exquisite timing of the dish presentation, I was able to enjoy the seasonal ingredients in the best tempura at a leisurely pace, so I was really grateful! It was so delicious at the Ginza branch that I thought I would like to try it at the main store of Yamano-ue Hotel next time! ✨
