Visit on May 20, 2023. After finishing some errands in Gotanda in the late morning, I decided to have lunch somewhere and ended up going to a tonkatsu restaurant called "Agefuku" next to "Yazawa Meat". It was almost 2 pm already, but it was a Saturday, so I was prepared for a long line. However, there were only two customers ahead of me. I was invited inside shortly after lining up. I ordered the "Top Loin Set" for 2,600 yen. The meat is sourced from Yazawa Meat, so my expectations were high. The water served beforehand was surprisingly delicious, and I drank it all up quickly. The food was served in about 10 minutes. The cross-section of the loin showed a faint, beautiful pink color. It looked delicious. A female staff member recommended starting with salt, so I followed her advice and tried it with seaweed salt. Mmm, it was delicious. Perhaps tonkatsu is best with salt after all. I also tried the ginger sauce and tonkatsu sauce that came with the set, but personally, I found the seaweed salt to be the best. It had been a while since I had such tasty tonkatsu, and I left feeling very satisfied.

I wanted to revisit someday, so I peeked in after a long time and found it empty, so I entered immediately! Last time I had the mixed fry, but this time I wanted to try the sirloin or loin, but the sirloin was already sold out, so I ordered the top loin cutlet set for 2,920 yen without hesitation. I waited for about 25 minutes, and when I took a bite, I was on the verge of tears at the even better taste than before. The staff's friendliness, attentiveness, and cleanliness were all impeccable. And above all, all the sauces were amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed the perfect score after a long time. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived before 11:30 on a weekday, and there were already a few people lined up before opening, but we were able to enter the store as soon as it opened. We ordered the mixed fry, premium pork cutlet, and minced cutlet as individual items for two people. They were all crispy, and the pork cutlet in particular had a delicious sweetness to it. The minced cutlet was juicy and substantial, typical of Meat Yawata. I would like to go again.

Personally, I like chicken so I always order it as a set. Even though cabbage is all-you-can-eat, this time I went for 4 helpings, haha. I don't eat rice, but at the end, when I have miso soup and pickles, I usually eat about two bites of white rice.

I revisited for lunch on Sunday. I ordered the upper fin. I started with salt seasoning, and then tried it with a Japanese-style sauce. The texture is unique and it harmonizes perfectly with the meat. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also good and it is a comfortable place to dine alone. The quality of the rice is also good, truly a popular restaurant.

Next to Yuzawa Meat in Gotanda. Sometimes people line up even before the 11:30 opening time on weekdays, but if you go before 12 o'clock, you can sit right away. It's a bit pricey, but the pork cutlet was so tender it melted in my mouth...! Sometimes pork cutlets can get greasy and hard to eat halfway through, but the ones here were easy to finish in one go.

I was impressed by the crab cream croquette I had as a takeout before, so I visited the restaurant to experience the freshly fried version. I ordered a set of two crab cakes and a single zucchini crab cream croquette. The crab cakes were refreshing, with a crispy coating and tender meat. They were delicious! The cabbage was sweet, the shiso dressing paired well with it, and the pickled daikon with shiso flavor was also tasty, creating a beautiful overall balance. The impact of the crab cream croquette is definitely heightened when it's freshly fried. I don't come to Gotanda often, but I'm glad I made the effort to come. The atmosphere was calm and cozy.

Tonkatsu version (*^^*) Great expectations! The restaurant was stylish and clean. The menu was truly from a meat shop (*^^*). There were tonkatsu dishes priced at over 4000 yen... amazing! For now, I chose a set with a variety of items (*^^*). It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I casually walked into a tonkatsu restaurant and ordered the thick-cut 250g loin cutlet. The thickness of the cutlet easily exceeded the first joint of my finger, with a slightly reddish hue and a stimulating doneness. First, I enjoyed the meat as it is, savoring the happiness of eating it. Next, I dipped the fatty part in seaweed salt, which enhanced the sweetness of the pork. The homemade ginger sauce was refreshing, while the tonkatsu sauce offered a sweet and sour taste from black vinegar and black sugar, allowing you to enjoy four different flavors. It was a late lunch, but the rice was shiny and good. The pork miso soup was full of ingredients, with burdock and potatoes adding a nice touch. Since the cutlet was thick, it took about 20 minutes from ordering. For those in a hurry, it's best to check with the staff. Ah, it was delicious! A blissful moment. Thank you! It's the height of summer. I was craving tonkatsu so I came to this place along the Meguro River. There were about 10 people lining up 10 minutes before opening. I had heard rumors about it being popular, and it definitely is. As I looked at the menu they handed out, my expectations grew, and by the time the scorching sun started to feel a bit unbearable, they opened and I was ushered into the cool interior. The bright and beautiful interior with wooden accents, I sat at the far end of the counter (which goes in a circle). The tonkatsu itself had a fluffy coating, and I particularly enjoyed the hirekatsu with salt. There were a few different sauces available, but the classic sauce seemed to be the best. It was a bit unusual that there was no mustard, which left me feeling slightly unsatisfied. The crab cream croquette was incredibly delicious. The service was pleasant, and I had seconds of cabbage and rice. It seems like this tonkatsu restaurant, although a bit pricier than typical chain restaurants, offers a stylish and delicious experience. I look forward to trying the hirekatsu next time.

Mixed meat (chicken/pork/beef) for 2,400 yen. Chicken cutlet (1 piece), pork loin (1 piece), and small wagyu meatball (1 piece). This was my second visit. Rice and cabbage are refillable. Just like last time, I had the chicken cutlet with tartar sauce, pork loin with salt, and wagyu meatball with homemade ginger sauce.

About a 10-minute walk from Gotanda Station, along the Meguro River, is a tonkatsu restaurant affiliated with Meat Yuzawa. Meat Yuzawa seems to have quite a wide range of offerings. Visited on a Saturday after 7 pm and there was no wait. Although Meat Yuzawa also had no line, I decided to try Agefuku, which I had not visited before. The inside of the restaurant is stylish, with a focus on the counter. The seats at the back seem to be more like tables. I ordered the top loin, which was recommended as being delicious as a limited quantity item. I'm a sucker for limited quantity or limited time items. While enjoying a highball, the dish arrived after about 15 minutes. The pork was tender and had a good sweetness from the fat. The texture of the breading was also good. This is delicious pork. Thank you, pig and everyone in Ibaraki. However, there are so many different brands of pork now. There are over 400 of them. I often see them in hometown tax programs. It's a world away from when I only knew about three-way pork and Iberico. Next time, I want to try a different cut or the minced cutlet.

It's about a 5-minute walk from Gotanda Station. I arrived around 1 pm on a weekday and was seated right away. The interior has counter seats lined up, with one table in the back and one in the front. It might be a bit tight for groups of 4 or more to sit together. You place your order by talking to the staff while seated. It took about 15 minutes for the order to be ready. The set comes with unlimited rice and cabbage. I ordered the special pork cutlet set. First, it was recommended to try the pork cutlet with salt. It came with a small amount of rock salt, but I wish there was more as it was hard to ask for additional. However, the taste was indeed good. The fat was made easy to eat and the salt added a nice touch to the pork. Next was the homemade ginger sauce. It had a strong ginger flavor and was sweet and salty, which was quite delicious. Lastly, the tonkatsu sauce. Honestly, this was the weakest of the three sauces. And it was a bit disappointing that there was no mustard. The rice was fluffy and tasty, but the cabbage was cut a bit too roughly for my liking. There was only one type of pickles, which was a bit of a letdown. The miso soup was honestly unnecessary. The 180g pork cutlet and this set for 3000 yen is not bad, but I wish there was a bit more of a luxurious feel to it.

After seeing reviews from other people, I was torn between trying the bird cutlet and the pork cutlet, so I ended up choosing the meat mix. The atmosphere and taste of the restaurant were excellent. Before going to the restaurant, I saw on Tabelog that the lunch price range was from 1,900 yen to, but most of the menu items are priced at 2,600 yen or more, so if you are expecting to spend 2,000 yen or less, there are not many options available. Just a heads up.

Gotanda Station. If you take JR, exit from the west gate, walk along Sakurada Street towards Yokohama direction, turn right before the river, and it's a 3-minute walk. It might be even closer if you take the Asakusa Line. It's affiliated with the Meat Yuzawa group and there's another branch next door. Arrived 5 minutes before opening on Saturday and there were already 4 people ahead. Today's order: Premium Pork Cutlet (180g) for 3000 yen. You can get refills for rice and cabbage. Soon, the pork cutlet arrived. It comes with three types of seasoning: seaweed salt, tonkatsu sauce, and ginger sauce. The ginger sauce's power is overwhelming! Tonkatsu sauce and seaweed salt are good too, but if asked which one to eat last, it would be the ginger sauce. The miso soup, pickles, and rice are all delicious. The pork cutlet is amazing! I visited around 7:00 pm and was seated without any wait. I ordered the mixed meat set meal. The rumors were true, it was delicious! The meat was tender and juicy, it was amazing. Especially the chicken cutlet was unbelievably tender and delicious. There were many types of sauce and salt, so it was fun to find my favorite combination. I particularly liked the ginger sauce with the minced cutlet. It was so delicious that I will definitely come back again!

I had the pleasure of enjoying the Hitachi Kagayaki pork loin, which is rich in flavorful fat. The tender and thick loin is addictively delicious! Additionally, the menchi katsu was incredibly meaty yet juicy, making everything incredibly satisfying.

This is my second visit. This time, I was lucky and didn't have to wait in line to enter. The tonkatsu was still fluffy and delicious, and I finished it all in no time. I have tried tonkatsu at many different places, but this is the best one I have ever had. I will definitely go back again.

I went to this restaurant because it seemed popular. I ordered the Wagyu menchi and seafood mix for 2,800 yen, along with a draft beer. The total came to 3,400 yen. The seafood in the Wagyu menchi and seafood mix was shrimp and scallops. The Wagyu menchi was juicy and flavorful, but had a slightly unusual taste. I personally prefer pork menchi. The scallops were quite tasty and the shrimp was decent. The batter was crispy, but not exactly what I expected. The miso soup was also decent. The tartar sauce was good, but felt like it was missing something. The rice was also decent. Overall, it was good but not outstanding. The restaurant is a few minutes' walk from the nearest station. The interior was clean and didn't feel like a typical tonkatsu restaurant. Reservations are not accepted, but I was able to get a table without waiting. However, it felt a bit crowded and slightly overpriced. I wish they had sweet and spicy sauce options and easier-to-pour containers. A larger beer mug would have been nice too. It's a good place to visit once for sightseeing, but a bit pricey for regular visits. The restaurant is completely non-smoking.

I came to Agefuku, a popular tonkatsu restaurant located a 5-7 minute walk from Gotanda Station. It's located next to Meat Yuzawa, so that might be an easier way to find it. Upon entering the restaurant, you are greeted by jazz music playing and the sound of sizzling frying food. On a hot day like this, I couldn't resist the temptation of the katsu curry on the menu. While many customers around me were ordering set meals, I went for the katsu curry. The freshly fried pork cutlet on top of rice was delicious. The tonkatsu itself was perfectly fried, with a tender texture and just the right amount of fat to enhance the flavor. The curry was also spot on, complementing the tonkatsu perfectly. If you ever crave katsu curry, I highly recommend trying it here. Thank you for the meal!
