I had been thinking of going to a certain restaurant. It is a fast food restaurant operated by the JR East Japan Group. Despite being JR East Japan, Becker's outlets are limited to Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, and Chiba, and it seems that there are only two outlets with an "R". It's convenient for train users as it is very close to the station. It's been a while since I last visited. This is a store adjacent to JR Ikebukuro Station. Around 7:30 on Saturday, there were many customers before and after. The store is quite spacious and I didn't see the second floor, but it didn't seem to be full. It was my first encounter, but there was a large touch panel near the front entrance where you can order and pay. When receiving the products, I noticed the staff in the kitchen, but I didn't have any contact with the staff. Maybe this is also due to the post-COVID situation. I remember that you could only use cash and transportation IC cards before, but now you can also use credit cards, and a system called a digital kiosk is being introduced. I didn't notice, but there seems to be a smoking room as well. You can also order with a mobile order. Now, at this time, I will have the morning set. The menu is extensive, with side menus available. Personally, I found it easier to understand than paper-based menus. Since this is a hamburger and croissant shop, I'll have a hamburger. Morning Cheeseburger Set with Hash Potatoes for 480 yen (tax included). It's nice that the drink is included. I chose orange juice instead of vegetables. It's probably concentrated juice, but it's 100% juice. It's nice that you can also get water by yourself. Is this now the standard? The chain is said to provide "restaurant-quality burgers in a fast food restaurant setting," but is it really? The bun has a strong color and sesame seeds on top. Surprisingly, they bake their own buns. It seems that croissants are also made the same way. However, the breakfast toast is different. It's quite thick and not as hollow as I expected. The patty is a sausage patty, only available in the morning. It's coarsely ground and quite meaty. On top of that, there is sliced cheese, with a strong yellow color. The cheese is not unpleasant like processed cheese, and on top of that, there are onion slices. The seasoning is simple but not overpowering. And I couldn't resist ordering the hash potatoes for 60 yen. I imagined a small coin shape, so I was surprised. It has a light saltiness and is hot. Delicious! When receiving the products, the staff asked if I needed a container for ketchup. Fried foods are best when freshly fried. At home, I wouldn't want to fry such a small amount. Everything was delicious, quick, and I learned later that this was one of the two updated stores in Japan. The interior is somewhat American with acrylic panels installed. It's quite different from the Lotte breakfast I had in the spring. Next time, I'd like to have a beer at the bar. Thank you for the meal!
