Located behind Ginza SIX, "Nyorojo Ginza" is a unique eel restaurant in Tokyo that specializes in "jikiyaki," a style of grilling eel without steaming it. I have always been a fan of both the fluffy Kanto-style eel and the crispy Kansai-style eel. I had been wanting to visit this restaurant for a while, and finally had the chance during a break from work. The restaurant has a charming black exterior with a large curtain displaying the word "Unagi" (eel). Upon entering, I was guided to a private room on the left side, which was a quiet and serene traditional Japanese space with a table for four. The menu mainly consists of charcoal-grilled eel set meals, eel rice bowls, and hitsumabushi (eel served over rice in a wooden box). I asked for a recommendation and was suggested to try the "Unaju Special" set, which allows you to taste both grilled and white eel. I spent about 40 minutes at the restaurant and the total bill came to 5,280 yen (including tax). The eel set arrived within 12 minutes of ordering. The lacquered wooden box revealed two pieces each of grilled and white eel, showcasing the firm texture unique to "jikiyaki." The grilled eel had a crispy, glazed surface with a rich flavor, while the white eel surprised me with its excellent seasoning. The grilled eel had a deep, savory taste that paired perfectly with the slightly crispy texture. The white eel, which I initially thought might lack flavor compared to the grilled eel, turned out to be delicious with its outstanding seasoning. The saltiness enhanced the delicate flavor of the eel, making it a delightful experience. The restaurant's location in Ginza and the availability of private rooms make it suitable for lunch meetings or business dinners. They are open throughout the day, making it convenient for a quick stop during shopping trips. I highly recommend this eel restaurant in Ginza for those who appreciate Kansai-style eel preparations.

My parents came to Tokyo, so we visited Nodoguro Suke Ginza to eat eel. We ordered the course menu and crispy eel. We toasted with beer and started drinking. Every eel dish was delicious! However, the portion was too much for two people, so we took the rice in a pot to go. We enjoyed it the next day.

First of all, the performance of showing the live eel in a case before ordering was impressive. The grilled eel was cooked in the Kansai style, crispy on the outside. I was recommended to try it with matsutake mushrooms for an additional 3,000 yen, and it was a perfect match with the eel.

I use it as an eel izakaya. First, I start with eel bone crackers and a platter of 3 grilled skewers. Then, I enjoy eel pickled in vinegar, which pairs perfectly with sake. Finally, I finish with an eel rice bowl. The premium option is just right for two people. The crispy eel prepared in the Kansai style is incredibly delicious. The eel rice bowl comes in a stacked box with a bamboo mat, preventing it from getting soggy from the sauce.

#Nyorosuke's eel rice bowl is top-notch. I really love the eel here. The grilled eel is delicious all the way to the skin, crispy and fragrant. Yet it's also soft and melty. There are more Kansai-style eel restaurants popping up in Tokyo, but I prefer this balance. I'd like to try the white-grilled eel and hot pot too, but I can't resist the temptation of the eel rice bowl. It seems like they also use wild-caught eel. I personally prefer farmed eel. #TokyoGourmet #GinzaGourmet #eel #JapaneseFood #NyorosukeGinza #GinzaLunch #lunch

Lunchtime visit. When I arrived before noon, it was empty, but by lunchtime it was full of reserved customers. It's definitely a place I would like to come back to. First, I looked at the menu. The way to order eel was a type I had never seen before. They serve a large eel box to share with one eel, two eels, etc. I ordered the eel box with half grilled and half broiled eel. I also ordered a few skewers and three side dishes for beer snacks. The skewers were carefully seasoned and allowed me to enjoy the flavor of different parts of the eel. The salt skewers were recommended and they were delicious. The side dishes were also tasty. The eel box that arrived last was crispy and fragrant, not the fluffy Kanto style but the crispy Kansai style. The sauce had a slightly sweet taste but was not overpowering. The crispy texture of the thick eel and the satisfying feeling of the edges were just right. It was very good. The attention to detail and the well-balanced flavors may lack impact, but it is a safe choice that everyone would enjoy. It was very delicious. And considering the location in Ginza, it was quite a good deal. The interior design is very high quality and the typography is outstanding. Thank you for the meal.

I feel like compared to the past, the grilled eel in the eel bowl has become sweeter, but it's still delicious. I tried the crispy grilled eel for the first time, and the white flesh became even crispier, which was also good. The fluffy texture of the white flesh is gone, so it depends on personal preference. The sansho miso has a nice numbing sensation and is irresistible for those who love sansho. This time, I happened to make a reservation for the first time. I have visited several times before, and I usually can get in without a reservation, but this time I heard that other customers without reservations were being turned away, so I felt like people were starting to come back to Ginza. Maybe it's related to the timing before the shop's day off...?

I have never had such delicious eel before. The eel was very big and satisfying to eat, and the rice was fluffy and very tasty!!! I definitely want to go back to eat again. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also nice. I think it's perfect for a reward lunch.

Today is the midsummer day of the ox, and I love eel. On a day like this, I want to eat the charcoal-grilled eel from "Nyoro Suke," called Karijuwa. It's delicious, and there's so much eel that you can't even see the rice. I got the eel bento box to go, "Premium Kabayaki 1.5 eels for 5600 yen + tax," but the "Standard Kabayaki 1 eel for 3800 yen" would have been more than enough to satisfy me. It was a truly blissful time. Happiness.

This is a restaurant operated by a well-known group, specializing in eel dishes. The restaurant is located in a traditional Japanese house with a charming interior. We tried the "Unagi Juu" which includes both "kabayaki (grilled eel)" and "shirayaki (grilled eel)" for around $10-15 per person (depending on size). Since there were two of us, we also ordered the unique eel hot pot, which was very filling on its own.

#NyoroSuke's #unagi donburi is on another level. It's so delicious with all that rich flavor! Cultivated eel is said to be in season on the midsummer day of the Ox, and I think that's true. They fatten them up just in time for this day. Well, I actually eat it every month, I love it. The restaurant was crowded because of the midsummer day, so we were seated on the 2nd floor for the first time. There was a grumpy old man complaining about the slow service. Eel takes time to grill, so it's best to order your meal when you make a reservation. That way, they can start cooking when you arrive. I usually do that. This time, our food was served in about 5 minutes, and we were out of there in less than 30 minutes. Customers can eat right away and the restaurant can turn tables quickly, so it's a win-win situation. #TokyoGourmet #GinzaGourmet #eel #unagi #japanesefood #NyoroSuke

Summer is all about eel! Grilled eel, not steamed, at a local eel restaurant. At Kiwa Corp's eel restaurant, you can see the live eel before it's cooked. The eel rolls, eel hot pot, and eel rice bowl were all amazing. I had a great time catching up with an old friend in a private room. My friend, who had just returned from the US, was thrilled. I will definitely be visiting again!!

It's been a while since I visited Nyoro-suke. I'm so happy! As always, they guided me to the same semi-private seat. The eel is crispy and fragrant on the outside, and fluffy on the inside. I like to eat it with plenty of sansho pepper and sansho miso. It goes perfectly with beer in the summer. The prices have gone up a lot since the past, but I keep coming back because the eel dish here is delicious.

#Nyorosuke's ultimate eel rice bowl. Eel is so delicious, isn't it? If asked what I would choose for my last supper, eel would definitely be on the list. The pickles were missing red turnip. The pot contained cold barley tea. #TokyoGourmet #GinzaGourmet #eel #unagi #sea eel #eel restaurant #eel rice bowl #NyorosukeGinza

I had Kansai-style unagi (eel) rice bowl for lunch. First of all, the grilled unagi was exquisite! It was thick, juicy, and the sauce seasoning was perfect. The skin of the unagi was crispy, spreading a deliciously fragrant aroma when freshly grilled. The rice was freshly cooked, with just the right stickiness and flavor. The aroma of the wooden box that came with the unagi rice bowl also enhanced the taste. The service was warm, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was calm and cozy. Although the price was a bit high, the quality justifies it. Highly recommended!

My son took me out for an early Mother's Day celebration! We started with a toast! I had the regular eel rice bowl, while my son had the large eel rice bowl. The difference is in the size of the eel. The large one is 1.5 times bigger!! It was delicious! The eel rolls were also tasty and satisfying. We sat in a private room on the second floor and had a wonderful time. Thank you for the meal!

Today's lunch was the ultimate eel bowl at Nyoro-suke. I eat eel almost every month, but today's was not as flavorful as usual. It was maybe the second or third worst I've had. It was still tasty, but something felt off. Maybe it was because I didn't make a reservation? The service was quite fast too. Next time I'm in Ginza, I'll make sure to reserve a spot. #TokyoGourmet #GinzaGourmet #eel #eel bowl #seaeel #Japanese cuisine #Nyoro-suke Ginza

On Friday night, reservations are full two days in advance. I called about three places in Ginza, but it seems like everyone is craving eel. Luckily, I was able to make a reservation for Saturday night at 8:30 pm. The previous customers were still there when we arrived, but they left smoothly. Last order is at 9 pm and closing time is at 10 pm. We used it for a business dinner. The course was good, but starting at 8:30 was tough, so we gave up. We ordered eel rolls and each person chose their favorite dish. I had two pieces of grilled and broiled eel. The grilled eel was delicious, but I really felt the goodness of the broiled eel. I love strong flavors. The skin was crispy and I didn't mind the bones, but my father mentioned that he found them a bit bothersome. Today, they mentioned that for an additional 1000 yen, they could serve eel from Japan. It seems they get it occasionally. I finished mine in no time, but my father's friend apologized, saying he couldn't eat two pieces anymore. I thought about trying the hitsumabushi next time, but ended up ordering broiled eel again. It's from China, but personally, I think it's great. It's nice that they always show you the eel before you eat it. They also have an English menu.

Today's meal was delicious! The prices have gone up significantly, but I was impressed by how they managed to make the Chinese-style dish so tender and flavorful without overcooking it. I wanted to try the comparison between the white-grilled and broiled eel, but it was almost double the price, so I opted for the broiled eel. Although there is a branch in Roppongi, the one in Ginza has a much nicer atmosphere, which seems to attract more customers. I enjoyed it so much that I'm already thinking about going back tomorrow.

I revisited the restaurant after making a reservation for the half-and-half grilled and broiled eel hot pot rice. As an appetizer before the rice, I had grilled eel skewers (plum), grilled eel liver (sauce), and grilled winter child with sauce. The main dish was the eel hot pot rice. The grilled eel was served with wasabi, and the broiled eel with sansho pepper or sansho miso. Considering the price and taste in the middle of Ginza, it was very delicious today as well.

#Nyoro-suke's ultimate Unagi (eel) rice bowl. I haven't been feeling well lately, so I decided to have some Unagi. Well, to be honest, I would have eaten it even if I was feeling fine. Today's dish had a strong crispy texture, giving a nice contrast of crispy and tender. I was a bit worried because my last experience was not that great, but this time it was delicious and satisfying. #TokyoGourmet #GinzaGourmet #JapaneseFood #Unagi #Eel #RiceBowl
