On this day, I planned to visit Asakusabashi. After enjoying the seasonal Three-Mile Oyster Butter Sauté at the famous Western restaurant Gracia, I had planned to visit Sol's Coffee Roastery near the intersection of Kura-mae Ichome. While checking the route from Gracia to Sol's Coffee Roastery on the map, I happened to come across this shop. It is a branch of "Maruz Cake" located in Moto Asakusa Ichome, and it seems they have recently opened a branch in Kinshicho as well. The owner of the company Maru's, which operates these shops, is the pastry chef Kayoko Miyata, who trained for 12 years in France, Tokyo, and Saitama. She focuses on providing food that is kind to the body, stating that she wants to offer "something that can be eaten with peace of mind and passed on to the next generation." She is particular about using additive-free main ingredients such as eggs, milk, sugar, and flour. She personally visits production farms to select ingredients, raising pure domestic chickens from chicks to feed with care, and sourcing reliable materials such as organic sugar and organic flour to make cakes and baked sweets. In addition to this shop, I also became interested in PASTA & BAR DARK-HORSE located on the same route, so I made a mental note to have lunch there and visit another day. However, as I unexpectedly spent more than planned on lunch at Gracia, I found myself short of cash to visit both Sol's Coffee Roastery and the other shop. After some hesitation, I decided to give up on going to Sol's Coffee Roastery that day and instead buy some baked goods from this shop to take home. I bought the following items from this shop. When I arrived at the shop shortly before noon, there was one female customer inside. Although there was no sign limiting the number of customers, the space in front of the showcase seemed very narrow, so I waited outside until the previous customer left and then entered the shop. There was one middle-aged female staff member on the other side of the showcase, and she was very calm and polite. - Firm Pudding 345 yen (tax included): A pudding made with milk, eggs, organic sugar, and cream. Contrary to the impression given by its name, it doesn't feel "firm" at all. Perhaps it is called "firm" in comparison to another pudding sold at this shop (Jersey Milk Pudding). The taste is quite ordinary, and the portion is small for the price. As someone who has tried various puddings, I honestly found this pudding to be unsatisfactory. However, it may be an attractive product for those who prioritize food safety. - Paw Madeleine 226 yen each (tax included): Madeleines shaped like a dog's paw. I bought three flavors out of the five available: black tea, matcha, and caramel. They are made with eggs from Oomatsu Farm, organic sugar, organic cake flour, butter, honey, cream, baking powder, salt. These were not only made with body-friendly ingredients but also tasted quite delicious. The cute shape makes them seem like baked goods that children would enjoy.
