I visited the Ramen Yamaguchi Rasshiki Honten in Higashiyokocho at 19:48 on Saturday, September 9, 2023. This restaurant has a rating of 3.76 on Tabelog's TOP 500 list as of today, and it was featured on Ad-machi Heaven, which personally caught my attention. Is Higashiyokocho the hometown of Matsuzaka Daisuke? Really? Oh, I didn't know that. I remember watching that dramatic PL vs. Yokohama High School game at Koshien on TV live. His impressive 18 wins as a rookie after turning pro. After striking out Ichiro after turning pro, he said, "I changed from confidence to conviction." Is this Matsuzaka's hometown, where he had such a significant impact on my adolescence? Hmm, let's see it from a different perspective. ... If you mention Matsuzaka to teenagers or those not interested in baseball today, they would probably think of Matsuzaka Tori, right? Well, sorry for the unrelated tangent. I purchased the mapo mazesoba for 1,050 yen at the ticket machine. There are 11 counter seats in the store, and there are two young male and female staff members. Maybe they prioritize appearance in their hiring process? I heard they can make it with less Sichuan pepper, so I asked for less. Actually, make it without. It arrived at 19:57. The mapo is rich and deliciously spicy. The spiciness is about half of Nakamoto's Mongolian Tanmen. The toppings include mapo, green onions, shredded chili peppers, diced chashu, and chili oil. Unlike Nakamoto, there's no tofu in it. The chashu has a texture like diced steak, tender and tasty. The Yamaguchi in Nishi Waseda also used good quality meat. There were only three customers in the store, including me. The calm music in the store creates a relaxing atmosphere for dining. The noodles absorb the broth well, becoming deliciously spicy. They are slightly thicker than medium-thin noodles and have a chewy texture. I came here with the image of the spicy tsukemen at Yamaguchi in Nishi Waseda, but it was a bit different. While Yamaguchi mainly focuses on chicken soy sauce with spiciness, here they attack with minced meat-infused spicy miso, garlic, and lard. If we were to rate it like a Power Pro status, it would be Meat D. There may be many people who are not good with spiciness, so Power C. Those who enjoy it would have Speed C. It's close to the station, but unless you live nearby, it might not be a place you'd easily visit, so Arm Strength E. The impression is that it's mainly run by part-time staff. The eyes don't seem to be very attentive, so Defense D. Similarly, it seems different from the taste created by the owner. I usually focus on fielding ability, so this time I'll also add pitching ability: Fastball 155 km/h, Stamina A, Control F, Breaking Ball Slider 5, Curve 2, Changeup 2. The special ability is Gyroball since it's Matsuzaka's hometown, right? No, it's totally Matsuzaka's ability (if I remember correctly). This information was not helpful. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.
