This is a restaurant where you can always enjoy top-quality sushi. I visit according to the changing seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter. This time, I had tuna and gizzard shad, both with a melting texture and extremely delicious. The chef and his assistant Haruka are also wonderful, making it a perfect place for entertaining or a date. Highly recommended! 😊

As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was the first customer. I have a shrimp allergy, so when I informed them, they kindly changed it to something else. But when they said there was only soup left, I said I didn't need it, and they were like, "Okay." It was a bit scary and made me nervous, but once they started making sushi, the master was very kind and friendly! The hostess also brought me a seaweed miso soup, thank you. The new shrimp substitute was delicious! Everything else was also very tasty, and I would like to visit again.

I searched for a lunch spot in Futakotamagawa and visited for the first time. I ordered the nigiri course. The sushi is served in pairs, with a fast pace but I think it's worth the price. The rice was served in smaller portions. The recommended dish is the comparison between the sauce and salt for the conger eel, but all the options were delicious. The additional dishes of shellfish, horse mackerel, and shrimp were also good. The shrimp came with grilled head meat, which was very satisfying. The meal included appetizers, pickles, jellyfish and plum salad, 1. hirame, 2. sweet shrimp bowl with shrimp broth, 3. amberjack, 4. lean tuna, 5. conger eel with sauce, 6. conger eel with salt, 7. tamago, 8. fatty tuna, 9. nodoguro, 10. cucumber roll, 11. seared sushi roll. For dessert, there was oolong tea jelly. We also had a bottle of sake and two servings of chilled sake.

The sushi at this restaurant is delicious and goes really well with alcohol. They serve a variety of appetizers, and even if you're not a fan of something, they encourage you to try it because it's all delicious. They are very particular about not using frozen ingredients, so you won't find items that are out of season. The chef is lively and his entertaining stories make the drinking experience even more enjoyable. If you have a specific request, they will prepare the sushi exactly how you want it. They also offer rare seasonal items that you may not have tried elsewhere. My favorite is the grilled fatty tuna skewers. I heard they also serve lunch, so I'm looking forward to visiting soon.

It was incredibly delicious. And the portion size was generous! Especially the two types of sardines (if I remember correctly) were exquisite. It was a bit pricey, but I would love to go again... The sea urchin (bafun uni) had a slight fishy taste, but the purple sea urchin (murasaki uni) did not.

I visited Ikkyu-san in Futako Tamagawa once again. As always, the service and generosity of the master were outstanding, and the support from Erika-san was perfect. I have never thought that aged sushi could be so delicious. I want to continue visiting this restaurant for the best sushi, appetizers, and the warm atmosphere. Let's go for drinks again soon, Master!

I entered the restaurant around 1:20 PM in March 2023. There were two groups dining inside, enjoying the delicious sushi for 3,000 yen. The rice and fish were both generously sized and tasty, making the price worth it and satisfaction high. The chef making the sushi in front of us was very cool. There was a regular customer who was talking loudly, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable, but they seemed to be having a good time eating. This place is recommended for those who enjoy chatting while eating, but not suitable for those who prefer a quiet dining experience.

Tokyo, a sushi restaurant in Futakotamagawa. The old-fashioned atmosphere and the master's lively talk create a pleasant atmosphere. They also share their work on YouTube, contributing to the development of sushi culture. The nostalgic counter and meticulous selection of ingredients. Sake appetizer set. Fatty tuna liver. Grilled spear squid, with a subtle sweetness. The sushi rice is clean and slightly salty, enhancing the sweetness. Halibut, with a firm texture and emerging sweetness. Smelt, refreshing and invigorating. Grilled yellowtail. A trio of fragrant bluefish, ark shell, and red clam. The meltingly tender Botan shrimp. Spanish mackerel, with a very clean and refreshing fat. The combination of condiments is also excellent. Mackerel, moist and fragrant. Sardine, with a velvety fat. Sweet shrimp, with a dynamic sweetness. Blowfish sperm sac. Yellowtail belly, light and fragrant fat. Golden eye snapper, seared blackthroat seaperch siblings. White shrimp. Sea urchin. Eel, enjoyed with claw and salt. It has a crispy texture and the fibers melt perfectly.

The price of the lunch sushi set is 3,000 yen, which is reasonable for a sushi lunch♪ Along with the lively conversation from the owner, I enjoyed a few extra pieces of sushi in addition to the lunch set... The sushi rice in the lunch set is on the larger side, so if you want to enjoy the toppings more, it might be good to ask for smaller rice portions♪ Since it was a holiday, I also had a beer on this day ❤️

I have been to the Azamino store before, but I didn't know about the Futakotamagawa one, so I happened to walk in and thought, "Wait, is this the same name store?" It was during lunchtime, so dishes kept coming one after another, but considering the price, it was understandable. However, it was a pleasant surprise to get this quality for this price (laughs). The atmosphere and taste were different from Azamino, but I was satisfied in a different way here! I will definitely visit again! Thank you for the meal!

I came to Ittoki Yu located near the back of Takashimaya in Futakotamagawa. I used to frequent Ittoki Yu in Azamino, so when I heard that one of the head chef's apprentices was running the one in Futakotamagawa, I wanted to check it out. Lunch cannot be reserved, so I waited outside the restaurant 15 minutes before opening. It opened at 11:30, and 20 minutes later the counter was full. More customers kept coming in afterwards. It's definitely a popular place. The lunch sushi set costs 3000 yen (8 pieces of nigiri + a roll), and it includes pickled ginger, pickled radish, an appetizer, a clam soup, surf clam, sweet shrimp, squid, horse mackerel, tuna, medium fatty tuna, mackerel, conger eel, cucumber roll, tekka maki, and dessert. The rice portion is quite generous and filling. It might be just right for men, but women might prefer a bit less rice. I decided that next time I will ask for less rice in my sushi.

The lunch prices have gone up a bit, but the cheerful conversation with the owner remained the same as always. The sushi rice in the lunch set is on the larger side, so if you want to enjoy the toppings more, it might be good to ask for smaller rice portions. On this day, I also added some bonito and eel, it was so delicious! ❤️

The lunch price has slightly increased from 2,200 yen to 3,000 yen, but the quality remains the same. For those who want to enjoy the toppings more, it is recommended to request "smaller rice portions" as the lunch servings are more suited for men with larger rice portions.

I had lunch at a restaurant in Futakotamagawa and ordered the nigiri set for ¥2,200. It included appetizers, 8 pieces of nigiri sushi, tamago, miso soup, a roll, and dessert (jelly). It was delicious! On my way out, I noticed they had a half set option, and I thought maybe I should have chosen that instead.笑

Located a 3-4 minute walk from Futakotamagawa Station, this restaurant is known for its aged sushi and is where the owner of a famous sushi restaurant trained. With over 30 years of history, the traditional interior of the restaurant is welcoming. The dishes we enjoyed included:
[Appetizers]
- Grilled northern surf clam
- Kombu seaweed with roe
- Salted fish ovaries
- Marinated halibut with kombu seaweed
- Botan shrimp
- Steamed abalone with liver sauce
- Golden eye snapper with ponzu sauce
- Homemade squid ink (shochu version)
- Homemade squid ink (red wine version)
- Pacific saury
- Vinegared Pacific saury
- Steamed abalone
- Grilled fish head
- Matsutake mushroom steamed in a pot
[Nigiri]
- Young gizzard shad
- Tuna (lean)
- Tuna (medium fatty)
- Pacific saury
- Spot prawn
- Eel (fin, salted)
[Drinks of the day]
- Bottled beer (Super Dry)
- Sake (Toyama Ginban, Tadashi, and others)
The variety of appetizers makes this restaurant very convenient for a casual sushi dining experience. While it may seem a bit pricey for a suburban sushi restaurant, considering the recent rise in ingredient costs, it is understandable.

Today, I went for a walk and run while enjoying the cherry blossoms! It has been 20 years since I last visited Futakotamagawa, and the town has changed a lot! There are commercial facilities and high-rise buildings in front of the station now! But even though it's time for a meetup, the person I was supposed to meet hasn't shown up... Did they get the time wrong? So, I ended up doing a solo walk and run along the Tama River! Oh, there aren't many cherry blossoms here. Oh, there are cherry blossoms but they haven't fully bloomed yet. Oh, there are construction works going on... Not ideal at all... Anyway, I had an early lunch at this restaurant behind Takashimaya Shopping Center! Let's have some sushi from the skilled chef! Here we go! The appetizer! Grilled amberjack marinated in a special sauce! The amberjack with its rich fat content is first grilled and then marinated, creating a delicious flavor! This type of marinated and grilled fish is often seen as a souvenir from Niigata, and the flavor is just right! It goes well with beer too! Grilled squid! The thick squid has a firm texture! The freshness is outstanding, and the flavor deepens as you chew! Amberjack! The white fatty amberjack is full of flavor! It's the fatty belly part of the amberjack, and the sweet fat melts in your mouth! Squid entrails! The thick squid entrails are from a flatfish! It's a big catch from Hitachi area! It has an elegant flavor with a slightly crunchy texture that is very satisfying! Sweet shrimp! The sweet shrimp with its open belly is a good size! It has no strong taste due to its freshness, and the sweet umami flavor spreads in your mouth! Tuna lean meat! The lean tuna has a very intense flavor! The unique deep flavor of the tuna and the refreshing acidity that lingers make it very enjoyable! Tuna medium fatty tuna! The moist and elegant fat spreads in your mouth! The melting flavor that harmonizes with the vinegar rice shows that they use good quality ingredients! Conger eel with salt! The conger eel with a crispy finish from the open fire in front of you! The eel has a nice charred flavor! A bit overcooked maybe? But it's refreshing with the salt! Soup! A rich shrimp miso flavor with carefully taken bonito broth! It's so elegant that you wouldn't think it's a lunch soup! Rolled sushi! The rolled sushi is made with tuna! The clever flavor shows the high level of skill! Kappa roll! It has a refreshing and crunchy texture! It goes well with the homemade pickles! Dessert! A gentle jelly with a citrus aroma! It's like a refreshing spring breeze to end the meal! Well, I was surprised that all this cost only 2200 yen! The sushi rice is a bit on the larger side, so it fills you up, but I don't mind that at all! It seems fitting that there are many regular customers here, given the quality of the food! Next time, I'll try the chirashi! Now, it's time for an energy boost with a light lunch and drinks! I'll head back to the station and continue with my afternoon walk and run!

Oh, I came back again to this cozy sushi restaurant. It's a place where you can enjoy a great lunch deal during the day, and if you ask the chef for a special piece of sushi, he will prepare something fresh and seasonal for you. This time, I had the 2200 yen sushi lunch set along with some beer and additional sushi as a side. The sushi here always impresses me with its mild vinegar rice and the delicious flavors of the ingredients. The chef, who is the same age as me, is friendly and great at chatting, and the young chef is also a cool guy. They even offer to show their faces under the masks to the ladies, which is a nice touch (laughs). *I included the sake menu this time.

Eldest daughter's workplace pick-up and drop-off, on the way there was a shop that caught the attention called "Ikkyu". I had been thinking about visiting someday, and then I got some information from MyRebi. This sparked my interest, so I decided to visit right at the opening time of 11:30 on a weekday. The friendly greetings were nice. The atmosphere at the counter seats where you can see the preparation and sushi making right in front of you was very comfortable. The chef asked what I would like, and I ordered the lunch set "nigiri" for 2200 yen (tax included) and a bottle of beer (medium). I was so immersed in the atmosphere that I forgot it was my first visit. The boiled squid and pickles were delicious. The beautifully white squid was soft and had a nice texture, and the flavor matched the broth perfectly, it was impressive. The sweet and smooth egg was also delightful. The chef then served 3 pieces of sushi on ceramic geta at a good pace. The sushi rice was mild and each grain was delicious. I was moved by the flavor of the natural ingredients the restaurant boasts. By 11:45, the counter seats were already full. The person next to me seemed to be a regular customer, ordering a mixed plate, beer, and cold sake. The restaurant also offers dishes not listed on the lunch menu outside the shop. There were also Western customers. The international service was wonderful. There were also local people, and casual conversations added a friendly atmosphere to the restaurant. I caught a glimpse of a lively and friendly side of Setagaya, a high-class neighborhood. It's a sushi restaurant that is lively, welcoming to newcomers, and serves delicious food. I love this kind of place. I visited without a reservation this time, but next time I'll make a reservation and go again.

There is another sushi restaurant with the same name in Azamino, but it is not clear if they are related or part of the same chain. Sushi Itkiyu is located on the opposite side of the road from Takashimaya in Futakotamagawa. The small shop has a historical charm and the interior features a large counter seat. The lunch menu is simple with two options: Nigiri lunch for 2,160 yen and Negitoro Barachirashi for 1,080 yen. They only accept cash, no electronic payments. I opted for the Nigiri lunch, which had good value for the price. The meal started with a warm towel and tea, followed by appetizers like grilled octopus and pickles. Then came dishes like hokkaido scallop, sweet shrimp, squid, red tuna, sea bream, mirugai, medium fatty tuna, and tamago. The meal concluded with tekka maki, kappamaki, and a small dessert. The experience was different from conveyor belt sushi, offering a more enjoyable and fresh dining experience. It was very delicious and worth the visit.

Today, I visited Sushi Ittikiyu for lunch in Futakotamagawa. I arrived at the opening time of 11:30 AM. I searched for a delicious lunch around Kawasaki area and found this gem across the Tama River. The lunch menu here offers only two options: Nigiri for 2,200 yen including tax, and Bara Chirashi for 1,100 yen including tax. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was very traditional and cozy. I sat at the end of the counter and ordered the Nigiri set. Along with the sushi, they served simmered tuna, pickles, and miso soup. The sushi was served in 2-3 pieces at a time, with soy sauce brushed onto the fish. The squid, sweet shrimp, flounder, red tuna, mirugai, yellowtail, tamago, and sushi rolls were all fresh and delicious. It was a great experience to watch the sushi being made right in front of me. For 2,200 yen, this luxurious dining experience was definitely worth it. I will definitely visit again.
