A very hidden izakaya! The iron door doesn't open, and you can't tell where the door is at all. After 5 minutes, pull the small door on the right side to the right, and finally enter the store. Seems popular with foreigners! Everything is easy to eat and goes well with alcohol! The oden looks amazing, but it was just okay.

The entrance was hard to find and the restaurant had a hidden gem vibe. The food was delicious, but the staff was unfriendly and there was a guy with a lot of tattoos which was a bit intimidating. The private room had black vinyl patches that made it uncomfortable to sit, and the air conditioner didn't work well, so it was hot and not very cozy. The specialty seared mackerel was tasty.

I made a reservation and visited the restaurant at 7:30 pm on Friday night. It is indeed a hidden gem. From Shibuya Station, head towards the Tower Records direction, go up the white stairs before Seven Eleven, walk through the building until the end, then turn right and you will find the restaurant at the end of a bridge-like passageway along the tracks. There are two doors side by side, and although the small wooden doors might make you bump your head when entering, inside there is a clean raised seating area and a counter in a L-shape. My friend and I were seated at a table. We ordered a platter of oden and pickled mackerel salad, among other dishes. I have visited several restaurants in this chain before, so there is a sense of stability. The staff were also polite, not as rude as some reviews mentioned, and we had a pleasant dining experience. Thank you for the meal.

The most popular menu item is the Daikon Oden, as you can see in the photo, the daikon is over 20cm in size and soaked in a flavorful broth, making it very delicious. It also includes hanpen, ganmodoki, egg, and konjac, creating a satisfying dish. Personally, I recommend the Octopus Suction Cup Ponzu, the chewy texture of the fresh octopus is enjoyable and delicious. Although I didn't order it this time, the seared mackerel is also recommended as they sear it right in front of you, providing a visual treat. Another nice touch is the salad served as a complimentary appetizer, it has a generous portion and the potato chips add a nice crunch with tasty dressing. The prices for both food and drinks are very reasonable, which is a popular reason for its popularity. While there are many branches in Shibuya, the Shibuya branch of Soup Curry is the most recommended. Although the menu items are mostly the same, the interior is clean and the entrance is a bit hidden, adding a fun element when bringing a female companion. The restaurant has both a first floor and a basement, with spacious seating including semi-private and private rooms. It's great for a lively group gathering or a date. Be sure to make a reservation early as it can get crowded. Recommended for different situations: Date with a girl: ☆☆☆ Hanging out with friends: ☆☆☆

A hidden gem of a restaurant. Located at the entrance of the building to the right of Seven Eleven, you have to cross a bridge and bend down to enter through a door. Inside, there are multiple private rooms, perfect for gatherings of up to 9 people. The oden is delicious, but the grilled mackerel cooked at the table is truly outstanding.

The tempura corn was delicious and the fact that it was a limited-time item made it even more special. This was my second visit and I felt confident that any dish I ordered would be delicious. The menu changes depending on the season, so I feel like I wouldn't get tired of coming back multiple times. On a Saturday night, many people came to the restaurant without reservations, but no one was seated without one, so making a reservation is definitely necessary.

I visited "Shio Be" for the first time in years since my student days! It's a 5-minute walk from Shibuya Station. I had forgotten the entrance to the restaurant because it's like passing through one building to another, so keep an eye out for it if you're a first-timer. Back in the day, knowing about this place seemed cool, and guys who knew it probably seemed popular. It has a hidden gem vibe like a cozy izakaya. It gets crowded even on weekdays, so it's better to make a reservation. I was able to make a last-minute reservation for a later time too!

☆ Daikon Oden Assortment ¥880
★ Chicken Heart with Green Chili Soy Sauce ¥680
Green Seaweed Carpaccio ¥1,080
Green Onion Toro and Avocado Dip ¥780
☆ Seared Mackerel ¥880
☆ Serious Potato Salad ¥580
☆ Shibuya's Fried Horse Mackerel ¥780
The items marked with ☆ are recommended as they are classic menu items. The daikon oden with flavorful broth is delicious. The seared mackerel is seared in front of you by the staff and then drizzled with lemon at the end. I remember being amazed by this performance back in the day. The fried horse mackerel is thickly fried, giving it a satisfying texture. The meat is tender. As a drinker, the chicken heart with green chili soy sauce was a hit! It has a nice spicy kick from the green chili pepper that goes well with alcohol. Also, the drinks at this restaurant are surprisingly cheap. A green tea highball is ¥400, a lemon sour is ¥450, and a Hakushu whiskey is ¥780. Even the shochu brands are ¥480. It's delicious and affordable, so I highly recommend it. With these prices, even students can enjoy it, which is great. It's a place worth knowing about! Thank you for the meal ♩

I visited on a regular night. It's a hidden gem of a restaurant, with no sign outside and tucked away inside a building. Despite this, the place was full of customers. I didn't take any photos of the food, but everything was delicious. Personally, I enjoyed the beef tendon meat stew and the pickled mackerel. The restaurant is known for its oden, which comes with a big daikon radish. It's a great place to take someone special for a nice meal.

I was able to make a last-minute reservation and used this hidden izakaya for a second party. The atmosphere was lively and fun, although it may not be ideal for a date. The staff were friendly and we had a great time. They also performed a show by burning the mackerel right in front of us. I would love to visit again if I can get a reservation (those who tried to enter without a reservation were turned away and had to go home).

A hidden gem located a bit away from the hustle and bustle of Shibuya, known only to those in the know. The food is excellent (all dishes are delicious), but the young kitchen staff raised some slight hygiene concerns. The atmosphere is great (calm interior with semi-private rooms available). Overall, good value for money considering the taste.

A hidden gem izakaya in Shibuya. The location is hard to find, even Google Maps was not much help and I got lost before finally arriving. I had to pass through a dim, old, and slightly dirty area, which would have been scary if I was alone. You have to take off your shoes and head to your seat. I made a reservation for four people for the all-you-can-drink course on Thursday at 6:00 PM (5500 yen). The course included salad, sashimi, tofu-like cheese dip, seared mackerel, fried chicken, nikujaga (stewed meat and potatoes), fried rice, cheesecake, and the famous all-you-can-drink oden which we also ordered. The menu seemed like creative dishes and were interesting! The sashimi and the seared mackerel cooked at the table were especially delicious. I would like to go again. Thank you for the meal! (^^)

【Kent Report✍️】
Walking down an alley, opening a door that you wouldn't notice if you didn't know, and further inside, there is a small sliding door where you enter. It's a hidden gem type of place, and you get excited even before entering! The interior of the restaurant is stylish, with a row of counter seats and also table seats. It's quite lively. The seared mackerel is seared right in front of you. It has no fishy smell, and the fragrant aroma whets your appetite. One bite and the deliciousness of the fish spreads throughout your mouth, absolutely delicious! The daikon radish oden platter is surprisingly huge with lots of juicy daikon piled up, making a great impact! The flavors have thoroughly soaked in, and it's super delicious! The eggs and fish cakes are also well-flavored and go well with alcohol. The beef tendon meat and potato stew has tender meat, eggs, potatoes, and bread that all complement each other perfectly, also delicious! The food was all delicious and amazing, not to mention the drinks. I want to go again.

Shibuya's hidden izakaya, Shibu Bae! We happened to call and got a table without a reservation. When we arrived, there were a few customers waiting without reservations. The food is of great quality and good value. We ordered daikon oden for 780 yen, a sashimi platter for 880 yen, a serious potato salad for 580 yen, fried eggplant (forgot the price), and white wine (price unknown). The salad was served as a complimentary appetizer. The atmosphere is nice and lively. It's recommended to come with a group of friends rather than for a date. Reservations are a must!

I visited for the first time in about 15 years and it was just as bustling as before. The famous grilled mackerel dish was still delicious. The customers were mostly young people, just like back then. The quality of the food was not compromised despite the busy atmosphere, and for a restaurant in Shibuya at this price range, it was quite high quality. It offers great value for money and I left very satisfied.

Reservation required hidden gem izakaya that became famous on TikTok. The entrance has sliding doors. The complimentary salad with delicious dressing is fresh. The seriously good potato salad is chunky and crispy. The foie gras is rich with a hint of grated radish, delicious. The seared mackerel is incredibly tasty. The oden is moist, and the konjac is surprising. The sashimi platter has tender octopus and tuna belly like toro, all very satisfying. The seared mackerel is grilled right in front of you with entertaining shouts. The staff, all young, seem to be doing a skit. Not recommended for those who are bothered by staff chatting. The staff's efficiency is impressive, so sitting at the counter is recommended.

The atmosphere is calm and cozy, with a great selection of oden and seafood. There is a bridge-like area leading to the entrance, and the interior is dimly lit, making it perfect for a date. The kitchen is located underground and run by a single chef, which is quite rare. The seared mackerel is delicious, and the staff will sear it for you before letting you squeeze lemon over it. The sashimi is also tasty, but the real highlight is the oden. The broth is rich and the daikon radish is soaked in flavor. The sake is also delicious, making this a highly recommended restaurant.

A friend took me to a place where I would never have found on my own. I was a bit confused at first, like, where are we going? The interior was dimly lit, but the energetic staff made it a lively atmosphere. You have to speak up to be heard at the counter. The recommended oden was delicious and juicy, and although I didn't try it, the seared mackerel was exciting to watch being seared right in front of you.

I went to this restaurant as the third place with my friends during the 3-day weekend. We made a reservation for 5 people just an hour before. There was a door that you had to bend down to enter in the dark, but once inside, the atmosphere and food were decent and it was a nice place to relax and drink. The seats were spacious and comfortable. The only thing that bothered me a bit was the service. It wasn't terrible, but if they had shown more consideration with a smile, I would have rated it 3.3 to 3.4. If I have a chance to drink with friends in Shibuya again, I would like to visit this restaurant.

There is no entrance on the street level, so people who don't know about it probably won't enter. It's guaranteed to satisfy your desire to be like, "How do you know about this place?!" The staff are fun and entertaining, and the best dish is the seared mackerel. Great place to enjoy some drinks. I don't want it to become too famous.
