I finally got to visit the matcha ice cream shop that I've been curious about for a while. I chose the number 3 flavor because I wanted to know the difference from the strongest number 7. Even though it was number 3, it was still rich and delicious! Number 7 was rich and you could really taste the catechin (lol). It was a hot day when I visited, but I felt refreshed and cool. Thank you for the meal.

Takeout ■ Triple (with No.7) ¥850 (tax included) What is the world's richest matcha gelato? "Nanaya," a Tokyo branch of the Shizuoka matcha sweets factory operated by Maruichi Seicha, a tea wholesaler founded in 1907. Even around 14:30 on weekdays, it is quite crowded. There are many foreign customers, so it may have been introduced in a guidebook. It is natural for Japanese people to be curious when they hear about the "world's richest matcha." In response to that, all menus and signs in the store are in English. Gelato can be chosen from single to triple, cup or cone. The rumored matcha gelato comes in 7 levels from 1 to 7. Of course, we chose the No.7, known as the world's richest. We also ordered hojicha and genmaicha. By the way, if you choose the No.7, the price goes up slightly from the regular price. We sat on the bench in front of the store to enjoy our gelato. I can't say if it's the richest in the world, but it's rich yet surprisingly easy to eat. It's more astringent than bitter. The hojicha and genmaicha are also delicious. Personally, I liked the genmaicha with its fragrant taste. If you want to eat matcha gelato in the Shibuya and Aoyama area, please visit here.

I visited this place at my wife's request. I love green tea ice cream, and I must say that the green tea ice cream here was incredibly delicious. It is rich and creamy, perfect for ice cream lovers. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys green tea flavor, as they will definitely be satisfied. The only downside is that the most intense flavor is the most expensive, but other than that, everything was perfect. I recommend this place to women working nearby, as well as to men who have a sweet tooth.

Ordinary, when you come to this store, you would expect gelato, but I visited with a focus on chocolate from the start. There are a total of 8 types of chocolate, ranging from No.1 with the highest matcha content in the world to No.7, with a mix of matcha and hojicha chocolates, each in small amounts. No.1 is milky, while No.7 has a strong matcha flavor, with the chocolate taste fading. If you like matcha, this set is recommended.

◼️Parfait (Black Sesame and Japanese Black Tea) 580 yen I couldn't decide between two smaller scoops so I chose black sesame and Japanese black tea. Toppings included 2 pieces of mochi, sweet red bean paste, and a small matcha cookie. Both the mochi and sweet red bean paste went well with the rich and delicious black sesame flavor. The Japanese black tea had an aroma similar to chai with a hint of floral notes, which may not be to everyone's taste. Personally, I preferred the black sesame, but overall it was delicious. The double scoop is 540 yen, so the scoops are smaller, but it still provides a satisfying treat and the toppings were a nice bonus. There are still many flavors I want to try, so I'm looking forward to my next visit to see what I'll choose next time! ☻

I had always been curious about Nanaya in Shizuoka, but I didn't know it was located in Aoyama. The rich matcha ice cream is intense, but still delicious. The lower the number, the more normal the ice cream tastes, with a sweet touch. I also enjoyed the assorted chocolates with different numbers!

#Today's sweet treat, #Nanaya's #7. This one is the richest and most delicious, but it's best enjoyed with something to contrast it. Today was hot, and I had been craving ice cream all day. I had been curious about the foreign tourists and students sitting in front of the shop and eating ice cream, so I finally decided to visit. I quickly chose the most rich and luxurious Matcha flavor, No.7. While I was unsure about what to pair it with, the seasonal limited edition flavor of Kinako (roasted soybean flour) with walnuts caught my attention. I ordered a double cone of Kinako with walnuts (seasonal limited edition) and No.7, totaling 730 yen plus an additional 100 yen for the seasonal flavor. No.7 had a strong texture and indeed a rich Matcha flavor! It had a slight sweetness but also a hint of bitterness, so pairing it with the sweeter Kinako with walnuts was the right choice. The Kinako flavor was authentic and delicious, with plenty of walnuts for a nice crunchy texture. No.7 uses Matcha that is three times more expensive than others, which is reflected in the price. Next time, I might go for a less bitter option. The shop also offers other flavors like Japanese black tea, red bean milk, black sesame, new tea, roasted green tea, and strawberry, among others. I also tried the soft cookie for 130 yen, which had a typical margarine flavor that lasted throughout. It wasn't bad, but it didn't stand out from the usual souvenirs. The pie manju for 150 yen was crispy when warmed up, with a flaky pie crust that was quite oily but paired well with the Matcha red bean filling. It reminded me of Nakamuraya's Usoawase pie manju but with a thicker crust. The pound cake for 240 yen had a simple taste, with a margarine flavor instead of butter. The red bean filling was delicious. They also offer baked goods, chocolates, cookies, cup ice creams, cream daifuku, roll cakes, tea leaves, and more. Some items require refrigeration, while others do not. They cater to both immediate consumption and souvenirs that can last. Overall, the gelato is recommended. The higher the Matcha concentration, the firmer the texture, as explained by the staff. The Kinako with walnuts was quite soft, and it melted quickly, even though it was 19 degrees Celsius when I ate it. That's just the nature of gelato. I'll definitely be back soon, probably in the summer when I won't even have time to take photos before it melts. ☻♪

I chose the strong matcha flavor, and it was delicious with a hint of sweetness! There were many other appealing flavors besides matcha. The staff efficiently managed the store by themselves, which was impressive. There were about eight chairs outside the shop. There is no parking lot available.

I had a strong craving for matcha ice cream where I could choose the intensity of the matcha flavor. So, I decided to try the No.7, which is the strongest matcha, and the No.3, which is a medium matcha. No.3 had a nice balance of sweetness and matcha flavor, making it a delicious matcha ice cream with a smooth texture. On the other hand, No.7 was surprisingly intense with a slightly gritty texture from the matcha powder. It was not creamy or milky, but had a bold and bitter matcha taste. If you enjoy the taste of the ingredients and prefer less sweetness, No.7 might be a good choice for you. Next time, I'm curious to try the combination of sesame and No.4 matcha flavors.

Located in a back alley-like spot in Shibuya, this shop offers matcha gelato made with Shizuoka's Fujieda tea, with the option to choose from 7 levels of richness. Of course, they also sell tea. I tried the gelato with the most intense matcha, Premium 7, paired with milk. This combination was spot on, as the slight bitterness of the rich matcha was balanced out nicely by the milk. I enjoyed alternating between savoring the intense matcha and mellowing it out with milk, gradually getting used to the strong matcha flavor and finding it delicious. Next time, I might try adding a light matcha to make it a triple.

The gelato shop offers matcha gelato in seven levels of intensity. Despite being number 7, the matcha flavor is not overly bitter but rather elegant with a nice balance of sweetness. Number 4, on the other hand, seemed to have more bitterness. The limited edition walnut kinako flavor is incredibly nutty! The Aoyama shop exclusive Japanese black tea gelato has a gentle sweetness typical of black tea. A must-try for black tea lovers.

Please don't think I'm going for gelato again. For now, I took a break at Nanaya, which was my planned visit last time. If you order the richest flavor, you also need to order the lightest one to compare. It is indeed rich. The lighter one starts to melt as time passes, but the rich one remains thick and creamy! Thank you for the meal.

Located in Shibuya (Aoyama), this shop sells tea, tea-infused gelato, chocolates, and more. Run by a tea shop from Shizuoka Prefecture, all products are made using Shizuoka tea. ● Gelato Triple (500 yen) ○ Fujieda Matcha Gelato No.7 (+200 yen) This Italian gelato is made with abundant Shizuoka Fujieda matcha. "There is no other gelato in the world with this much matcha!" It's the ultimate matcha gelato. When you take a bite, you'll be surprised. It's... so intense! The concentrated matcha flavor is strong, but it's smooth in bitterness, making it very mellow. It has a rich taste, like seaweed or nori. It's like a bomb of glutamic acid bursting with umami. Some people might find it too intense or bitter, but I loved the rich umami flavor! ○ Tokyo Wa Black Tea Citrusy with hints of spices and a subtle caramel flavor. It has an Oriental taste like chai with cinnamon. It's quite unique and delicious. ○ Brown Rice Tea A nutty, toasted flavor. Why is brown rice tea flavor so delicious? I love this taste too. → All the gelato flavors have a long-lasting aroma that expands deeper. The aftertaste is long and deep, with a restrained sweetness. The flavors are intense and full of personality. It's best to eat them one at a time to fully appreciate each one. ○ TEA CHOCOLATE MATCHA 7 (1296 yen) Assorted chocolates with 7 different levels of matcha + 1 hojicha flavor. Matcha 1.2% / Matcha 1.9% / Matcha 3.1% / Matcha 5.1% / Matcha 8.2% / Matcha 13.3% / Matcha 29.1% / Hojicha 5.1% Made from white chocolate in-house without using flavorings or lecithin, only cocoa butter, milk, sugar, and tea. The milk content is minimized to enhance the tea flavor. Especially the highest concentration of 29.1% matcha is an incredibly intense matcha chocolate that is unmatched anywhere in the world. ────────── Even with matcha, the intensity can make such a difference... and you can also enjoy the difference between matcha and other types of tea. This shop is a tea lover's paradise. The gelato flavors, not just matcha, are all of such high quality that you'll want to try them all! I'll definitely be back. ──────────

I bought chocolates at a hotel in Yaizu before and they were delicious, so I looked it up and found out that it was made by Marushichi Seicha. It seems that this place is also affiliated with the hotel. I saw this place on TV before, where they introduced different levels of matcha ice cream, so I was curious and wanted to visit. When I visited a ramen shop nearby, I also visited this place. I bought two flavors of gelato to go (No.7 + black tea), and my companion got (No.6 + gyokuro). I parked my car on the street parking (60 minutes for 300 yen) and arrived around 1:45 PM on a weekday. There were customers eating outside, but there were no customers inside the shop. Inside, they also sell tea and chocolates, but on this day, they only had gelato for sale. The popular matcha gelato allows you to choose the intensity from 1 to 7, with No.7 using the highest quality tea leaves, which increases the price. The gelato, including the samples I tried from my companion, was all delicious. No.7 had a special taste, but personally, it didn't stand out enough for me to go out of my way to visit again. Overall, it was delicious gelato and I would like to visit again for a special occasion.

Today's sweet treat, the matcha gelato from Nanaya. I was curious about this shop and happened to be nearby, so I decided to try it. You can choose the intensity of the matcha flavor. The contrast when lined up is beautiful. I chose these flavors: Fuji Shizu matcha gelato no.3, Fuji Shizu matcha gelato no.7, Shincha, Gyokuro, and Genmaicha no.7 which is the strongest. I thought it would be bitter or astringent, but it was not at all, just full of umami and very delicious. If you come to this shop, you must try no.7. Shincha is milky, Gyokuro has a strong green taste, but compared to matcha, it falls short. However, the Genmaicha gelato has a different flavor profile, serving as a perfect chaser until the end. It's adorable. In the shop, you can also find bottled high-quality Japanese tea, original bottled tea, pre-packaged gelato, chocolates, and more. You can also buy hot tea. My recommendation is to not miss out on no.7, and for contrast, maybe try a lighter matcha or Genmaicha.

During this cold season, I decided to go to this place thinking I could buy without waiting in line. And as expected, I was the only customer today, a weekday. Great. I thought it was an ice cream shop, but they also had tea-related snacks, alcohol, and more inside the store. You can choose between a cup or a cone for the ice cream, and select from single to triple flavors. I chose a cup with 2 flavors. You can dispose of the cup and spoon inside the store after enjoying it on the bench outside. The most intense flavor I was aiming for, No.7, was in a different price range. But I had to try it. I looked for another flavor and stopped at matcha and roasted green tea. When I asked the staff which one was better, they immediately recommended the roasted green tea, the second most popular flavor. I decided to go for a set of the most popular and second most popular flavors. I thought No.7 would be more bitter and richer, but it was surprisingly delicious at a normal intensity. The roasted green tea also had a strong flavor and was delicious! I might try comparing No.1 and 7, or No.6 and 7 next time ⭐︎

In Shibuya, you can enjoy the world's richest Fujieda matcha gelato♪♪ This shop is located a little bit from Aoyama-itchome and offers tea and matcha gelato. I was curious about it for a while, so I decided to stop by since I was nearby^^• I tried 2 flavors including No.7 (the richest Fujieda matcha) for ¥670. It's a great place to visit with friends who love matcha. No.7 doesn't have a strong bitterness but allows you to taste the matcha with a refreshing hint of sweetness. On the other hand, the brown rice tea ice cream was a first for me, and it was sweet and very delicious as well. Personally, I was a big fan of the brown rice tea ice cream haha. It was an ice cream that made me want to go back and eat it again (*´꒳`*)

The refreshing atmosphere and friendly staff in Shizuoka, where Sawaya and Nanaya are located, feel like heaven. The staff are brisk and pleasant, and in these times they only speak when necessary, but the service is attentive and the atmosphere is comfortable. There are only a few seats for dining in, located next to the door inside. I ordered the No.7 Matcha Must Plus with milk for a break. The portion was just right and delicious until the end. I also noticed seasonal ice cream and matcha chocolate, so I will definitely come back again.
