First of all, the flavors here at Koko are quite distinctive. If you ask what kind of quirk it has, I'd say it's like a big brother (laughs). I think people's preferences for this restaurant will be divided. You can taste authentic Chinese cuisine here that uses so many spices that you might think you've teleported to Taiwan, Hong Kong, or Shanghai. The flavors are even better than the local dishes, thanks to the quality of ingredients and cooking techniques. However, those who are used to the Japanese-style Chinese cuisine from chain restaurants might find it too intense. I love spices, so I really enjoyed the authentic spice levels! We were served course dishes according to our budget, and every dish was magically delicious! The stir-fried water spinach, seasoned only with soy sauce, had such a deep and rich flavor that you'll want to ask, "What's the secret ingredient?" The seafood soup at the beginning was mind-blowing, and adding basil changed the taste! From the soup without ingredients to the one with them, and with basil added, each variation was incredibly delicious. The clams marinated in Shaoxing wine were exquisite. The sautéed dried abalone had an amazing texture! The dish with oysters and Japanese yam was so addictive. My favorite was the stir-fried crab knife-cut noodles. It was a mind-blowing first taste, making you want to take the next bite immediately. The stir-fried lamb was delicious without saying. And finally, Koko's specialty, the Lu Rou Fan. I was surprised by the way it was made, but it was incredibly delicious. Every dish at this restaurant is outstanding!! The big brother may seem sharp in speech and appearance, but he gives nicknames to everyone who visits (we were a group of 8), pays attention to the customers, and even turns on the lights at the end, providing great customer service. (laughs) Considering the budget, the quality of the ingredients, the menu, and the effort put into the dishes, the cost performance is amazing. I'm captivated and never expected to encounter authentic Chinese cuisine in Gotanda. Big brother, I'll definitely come back to eat again!!
