The restaurant was busier than before, with families enjoying their meals on a Sunday. The staff remembered us and provided great service, allowing us to relax and enjoy our time. We started with the Uncle Salad, which was a generous portion even though we ordered a half size. It included fresh vegetables, boiled vegetables, boiled eggs, ham, cheese, and a refreshing homemade dressing. The potato salad was freshly made and delicious, with potatoes and vegetables coated in tasty mayonnaise. The sautéed Kinugawa pork with ginger sauce was a luxurious version of pork ginger stir-fry, cooked perfectly with a nice balance of lean meat and fatty edges. The beef stew, cooked in a special demi-glace sauce, was tender and high-quality. We enjoyed our meal with champagne and wine, skipping bread or rice until we ordered the curry pilaf as our final dish. The waiter remembered our preference for spicy food and made it extra spicy for us. For dessert, we had caramel-flavored pudding and smooth Bavarian cream, simple yet nostalgic and satisfying. We reminisced about the old days when dessert was called "after-dinner." Now, we enjoyed Calvados as a digestif. From the weekend lunch menu, I ordered the "One Plate Mix" which claims to be delicious twice in one dish. I had the seafood pilaf with shrimp, squid, scallops, and shimeji mushrooms, along with a creamy crab cream croquette. My companion had the famous omelette rice with demi-glace sauce and also the crab cream croquette. For dessert, I had a chocolate sundae and my companion had a homemade Bavarois. Established in 1978, this restaurant stays true to the basics taught by the renowned chef Tokuzo Akiyama, who served as the Emperor's chef, while incorporating innovative ideas to add a touch of Japanese essence to their authentic French cuisine. There were a lot of regular customers, like families or friends. The pilaf was a bit like fried rice, not too fluffy. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing, a space where you can have a leisurely chat.

I suddenly felt like eating Western food and remembered Mantenboshi, so I walked there and arrived as soon as they opened. There was no wait, and a few groups of customers came in before my food arrived. I had decided on the lunch special bento, but I couldn't resist ordering the Vichyssoise as well. The fried dishes at this Western-style restaurant are a good indication of their quality, and the uniformity and flavor of the breading on the shrimp fry as well as the attention to detail in dishes like the hamburger showed that there was no cutting corners. The food was refined and delicious.

I have been going to this restaurant for a long time. There are 6 branches, including in Marunouchi Building and Shinjuku Isetan. The noodles were thin like pasta, but there were plenty of sausages and the seasoning was tasty. The omurice with shrimp and scallops, and the crab cream croquette were a hit. The omurice had a nice mix of seafood, and the crab cream croquette was incredibly tasty and crispy with a strong crab flavor. Before the meal, they served consommé and salad, and after the meal, dessert. It may not be cheap in the 2000 yen range, but I think it's worth it once in a while.

The One Plate Mix allowed me to enjoy a juicy hamburger with demi-glace sauce and a fluffy omelette rice. The overall experience was satisfying, and I would recommend trying their signature dishes.

For dinner, I went to the classic Western-style restaurant "Grill Mantensei" near Azabu-Juban Station on the Namboku Line. The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant made me feel relaxed. The 2200 yen plate menu is great because you can choose two main dishes. I ordered the hamburger and omurice and waited for about 5 minutes. The hot hamburger was thick, tender, and juicy, while the fluffy omurice with creamy egg was perfectly paired with the moist chicken rice and sauce. It was a very satisfying dinner!

I invited a friend to have a sudden lunch together. Since I didn't have a specific restaurant in mind that I wanted to go to, my friend suggested a place they had been to before. I had been to other branches of this restaurant before and remembered that the food was delicious. This time, we decided to visit without making a reservation. As expected, it was lunchtime and the restaurant was full. When we entered the restaurant, a middle-aged male staff member who seemed to be in charge of seating and managing the restaurant asked us if we had a reservation. He had a very unfriendly and expressionless demeanor and simply said, "Since you don't have a reservation, you'll have to wait." When I asked how long the wait would be, he replied, "About 15 minutes." Since there was no seating available inside the restaurant, we planned to wait outside. However, the way he spoke and his attitude made us feel like we were being inconveniencing the restaurant by being there. At this point, I was already put off by the attitude of the restaurant staff, and I wanted to go to a different restaurant. However, my friend wanted to try this particular restaurant, so we reluctantly decided to wait. After waiting for about 10 minutes, we were finally seated. The other male staff members, including an older gentleman and a young trainee, were busy but efficient in their service, which was good. However, the initial staff member who greeted us had left a bad impression on me, and I couldn't fully enjoy the experience even before placing our order. I wondered if I was overreacting, but I felt that the initial staff member's attitude did not match the image the restaurant was trying to portray. Despite the delicious food, the poor service and attitude of the staff made me feel uncomfortable, and I don't think I'll be returning to this restaurant. It's a shame because the food was really good. Thank you for the meal.

I extended my trip to attend the live performance of Hiroshi Inaba at Yokohama Arena from Kobe. I chose this old-established Western-style restaurant in Tokyo. Instead of opting for a lunch course, I decided to go for a luxurious course, and the wine was delicious too. It exceeded my expectations and I was truly impressed. I would definitely want to visit again when I go to Tokyo.

It's been about 30 years since I last visited this long-established Western-style restaurant in Asakusa. It's the festive season for year-end parties, and there is a lively group of 8 elderly people. Luckily, we are seated in a separate area one step above. We had ordered a light course menu in advance. For the main course, there were 4 choices and I chose beef stew. It seems like the kitchen is short-staffed as the timing of the dishes being served is slow. The salad arrived after I had finished my main dish. (･_･;

I ordered a one-plate lunch with omurice and menchi-katsu. It was my first time eating at this main branch, but my wife said she had a feeling it would be delicious and wants to come back again. We were able to park our car in the public parking lot. Unfortunately, we had to give up on getting taiyaki because the wait was an hour and a half.
