I made a reservation and visited the restaurant on Friday. The sashimi platter was decent, with the fish being quite fresh and firm. The anago tempura was not the usual shape, but it had a nice firm texture and good flavor. I forgot to take a photo, but the dashimaki tamago was also delicious. For the finale, the clay pot rice with eel and burdock was cooked perfectly, well-seasoned, and had a great texture. There was a wide variety of sake available, although I didn't find any particular brand that stood out. The prices may be slightly on the higher side, but it's a nice atmosphere in the restaurant.

A Japanese-style izakaya located about 3-4 minutes walk from Ikebukuro Station East Exit towards Mejiro on Meiji Street, on the 5th floor of a multi-tenant building. The restaurant has a clean and modern Japanese design with many private rooms, making it suitable for various occasions other than entertaining clients. We made a reservation a week in advance and arrived at 6:30 pm on Wednesday. It was hard to tell how full the restaurant was, but about 70-80% of the shoe lockers were in use, so it seemed like they were almost fully booked. They offer all-you-can-drink courses, but we opted to order a la carte through the organizer. We ordered dishes like assorted sashimi, yuba with dried squid green salad, deep-fried domestic young chicken, plump shrimp spring rolls, grilled Agu pork salad, and Okinawan pork with brown sugar. The sashimi was fresh and voluminous, with a particularly good fatty texture in the white fish that oozed sweetness with every bite. The grilled Agu pork salad had a great combination of sweet Agu pork fat and sesame dressing, making it a dish that we couldn't stop eating. It would have been even better if there were more slices of Agu pork. The Okinawan pork with brown sugar didn't really have a noticeable brown sugar taste, but we only realized it was brown sugar after checking the menu afterwards. Overall, the portion size of each dish was small, so ordering more dishes ended up making the overall price quite high. Thank you for the meal.

After a memorial service at Zoshigaya Reien, a group of us had a meal together. We chose the "Angus beef steak donburi" from the lunch menu. It was more like roast beef donburi than steak donburi. We had a gathering and there were 4 of us. We tried the course meal with rice, the presentation was beautiful but the quality of the ingredients didn't seem that great when we tasted them. I wonder why. The premium all-you-can-drink option was quite satisfying, especially with the option of bottled beer (Akahoshi). In the end, we ordered an eel bowl separately, and that was the most delicious. Maybe the pre-made dishes were losing their flavor. Still, the atmosphere where you can relax and drink in Ikebukuro alone makes it worth it.

We chose a sunken kotatsu room, which was perfect for having a baby with us. We ordered the Aguu pork with salt koji set from the lunch menu. The second grader had a kids' meal. You can choose between white rice and brown rice, but unfortunately, they were out of brown rice by noon. The kids' meal arrived quickly and was quite luxurious with udon, rice, and side dishes. The moms' Aguu pork set arrived shortly after. The white rice was sparkling and deliciously soft, and the pork was thin but flavorful with a sweet fatty taste from the salt koji. There was fresh watercress underneath for a refreshing touch. We took our time due to the baby, but the staff were attentive and cleared our plates and brought coffee at the right times. There were other customers like pregnant women, families with kids, and elderly people dining there. The restaurant has a variety of seating options, making it convenient for different groups of people. The staff were helpful in guiding us through the spacious restaurant. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

We can stay in a private room with no time limit, so we can enjoy our meal, add drinks afterwards, and talk as much as we want without having to look for another place. I have been to the Shinjuku branch many times, but this was my first time at the Ikebukuro branch. All seats at Ikebukuro branch are private or semi-private rooms. The menu mainly consists of creative Japanese cuisine. I think there is no woman who dislikes creative Japanese cuisine, and the atmosphere is nice and reasonably priced, making it suitable for casual dates.
