#Kuronekoyoru #AkasakaI've always wanted to visit Kuronekoyoru (Black Cat Night) in Akasaka. It's a Chinese restaurant known for its wide variety of Shaoxing wine and baijiu. One of the reasons I was interested in this place was because I used to have a black cat. They also have a branch in Ginza. It's a unique Chinese cuisine and Chinese liquor entry restaurant. It was fun to do an endless comparison of white and yellow wines ❤️ They even served me Eight Treasure Tea (Chrysanthemum Tea) at the end, which was heartwarming ☺️

In the 7th picture, I've included a video of the Shaoxing wine and baijiu menu. The selection is amazing, right?! I would love to try all the Shaoxing wines.

I enjoyed a variety of appetizers such as eel liver, corn tempura, and tripe stew soup. The balance of flavors was excellent. I also ordered frog stew sweet and sour pork as an additional dish. It's convenient to be able to enjoy game meat easily. I'm curious about the goat oil-drizzled chicken-style fried dish, so I'd like to try it next time.

Located a 3-5 minute walk from Akasaka-Mitsuke Station, Kuro Neko Yoru Akasaka is a Chinese restaurant where you can enjoy reasonably priced Chinese cuisine in a casual, pub-like atmosphere. It was selected as one of the top 100 Chinese restaurants in Tokyo in 2021 and 2023. With a lively and bustling atmosphere, it is recommended for gatherings with friends or colleagues. With a total of 32 seats, reservations are essential. We tried the seasonal appetizer platter, Shanghai black vinegar sweet and sour pork, shrimp mayonnaise, and authentic mapo tofu. Starting with three appetizers that go well with alcohol: pork marinated in fermented bean curd, winter melon and nut mix, and three kinds of snacks. The seasonal appetizer platter features beautifully arranged dishes such as princess sazae marinated in garlic soy sauce, aged sake-soaked edamame, corn shendan tempura, eel liver simmered in ice, various white broth soups with offal, and Chinese pickles with summer vegetables. The Shanghai black vinegar sweet and sour pork, with plenty of black vinegar and thickly cut meat fried crispy on the outside, offers a juicy and tangy combination of meat juice and sweet and sour sauce. The shrimp mayo combines crispy fried shrimp tempura with a smooth mayonnaise sauce. The spicy and flavorful mapo tofu, which is so hot that it makes you sweat, pairs perfectly with rice or beer. If you're looking to enjoy lively Chinese cuisine in a casual atmosphere, be sure to visit this restaurant. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I searched for clay pot rice but ended up with something like Khao Man Gai with sweet chili sauce. I was disappointed but the portion was satisfying, and the dish was delicious, something I don't usually eat. The soup bowl was too small.

I have always wanted to visit this restaurant and happened to be in Akasaka for work, so I took this opportunity to go. For lunch, they only offer one dish. Upon entering, I was seated and had to wait. The restaurant was already crowded even though it was before noon. I was seated at the counter, which was narrow. Today's lunch was the Spicy Beef Tendon Clay Pot Rice. The salad had a lot of tofu in it and came in a bowl almost as big as the clay pot. The clay pot was hot, and the beef tendon was tender. I mixed the spicy sauce with the beef tendon and ate it with jasmine rice. I like jasmine rice, so I was happy to eat it from the clay pot. The portion was generous, and I left some salad and jasmine rice, but I think it was quite cost-effective for 1000 yen! The menu changes weekly, so I look forward to visiting again.

I casually walked into a Sichuan cuisine restaurant that offers a weekly special menu. As I rode the elevator up, I instantly felt a foreign atmosphere. This week's special was "Black Cat Yunnan Tofu Rice," which is essentially Yunnan-style minced tofu rice with shrimp miso flavor. The hot pot-cooked rice was mixed together, releasing a fragrant shrimp miso aroma. When I tasted it, the combination of minced meat, shrimp, and jasmine rice created a rich and delicious flavor. The salad and soup were also delicious. Ah, it was so tasty! A moment of bliss. Thank you! I clasped my hands together and said, "Thank you for the meal." A perfect ending.

It was hot outside, so I felt like eating something spicy and decided to go to a Chinese restaurant. The lunch special happened to be Yunnan-style mapo rice, so I ordered that. I was a bit surprised when I entered the restaurant because it was a mix of different styles, but I sat at the counter. I didn't even need to order because the lunch set came out right away. It was served in a hot pot, which made it very hot, but it had a good amount of Sichuan pepper and just the right level of spiciness. The burnt rice at the bottom of the pot was nice, but it would have been even better in the colder season. Still, for a 1000 yen lunch, it was quite good.

"Akasaka Mitsuke's Chinese restaurant 'Kuroneko Yoru Akasaka Store' offers authentic Chinese regional dishes that you won't find in regular Japanese Chinese restaurants, such as stir-fried duck tongue, duck brain miso, and deep-fried whole pig intestines. They also serve dishes like turtle (although I personally don't eat that). The mapo tofu had a true authentic numbing spiciness that was incredibly delicious. They also offer a tower of Shaoxing wine and various Chinese local spirits, which is quite appealing. #KuronekoYoru #AkasakaMitsuke #ChineseCuisine #ChineseGourmet #DeliciousChinese #ChineseFood #AkasakaGourmet #AkasakaLunch #ChineseFoodLover #ChineseRestaurant #ChineseFoodLover #AkasakaDinner #ExploringChineseCuisine #ChineseFoodJourney #DeliciousFood #GourmetDish #FoodPhoto #FoodPhotography #StylishInterior #TabelogTop100 #DeliciousTime #GastronomicExperience #LunchTime #DinnerTime #MustTryDish #Foodie #RestaurantHopping"

There are many unique dishes that can only be found at this restaurant, making it worth a visit. The duck tongue pickles, watermelon, corn tempura, and lamb hamburger were all delicious, but not items I would typically order, which made the experience enjoyable. I will definitely visit again.

I had the opportunity to come to Nagatacho and decided to visit this restaurant I was curious about. I was surprised that there was no menu, but after a few minutes, dishes were brought to me. The set meal consisted of tofu salad, hot pot, and soup. I enjoyed eating jasmine rice with the tenderly simmered daikon and motsu. The flavors were rich and satisfying. The tofu salad was a nice palate cleanser. The portion was decent, and after finishing the meal, I felt warm and content. It was a lunch I really enjoyed.

Located 30 seconds walk from Akasaka Mitsuke Station, on the 3rd floor of a mixed-use building between Esplanade Akasaka Street and Akasaka Misuji Street, this restaurant has been selected as one of the top 100 Chinese restaurants on Tabelog. When you get off the elevator on the 3rd floor, you are already inside the restaurant, which is quite unusual. The interior has a vibe similar to a Shanghai back-alley bar, with shelves filled with various Chinese liquors. The lunch menu consists of a weekly changing dish (priced at 1000 yen) and today's special was the Spicy Beef Tendon Rice Bowl (spicy simmered beef tendon with seasonal vegetables served in a clay pot with rice), accompanied by salad and soup. The beef tendon, daikon, carrot, burdock root, and other ingredients cooked in the clay pot with star anise spice, along with minced meat and onions on top of the slender rice, was served. The salad included firm tofu, edamame, tomato, and lettuce, different from what you typically find in Japanese salads. It was a true authentic Chinese lunch experience, reminiscent of Taiwan or Hong Kong cuisine.

Get off at Akasaka-Mitsuke Station and make your way through the crowds, you'll find the restaurant on the 3rd floor of a building less than a minute away. They offer only one lunch option for 1000 yen including tax, cash only, and operate on a first-come, first-served basis. The lunch at this type of restaurant is always delicious. Check the weekly lunch menu at the sample display outside the building. The actual portion is much more generous than the sample. Enjoy your meal!

The elevator opened! Oh, it's a restaurant. It's a slightly deep Chinese restaurant. For lunch, they serve a single dish. When you sit down, it will be served to you. If you enter before 12 o'clock, you can get a seat. You don't need to order anything except for specifying the amount of rice you want - regular, large, or small. If you don't specify, you'll get a regular portion. Today's menu is red-cooked pork rice. It's a flavorful braised pork dish served in a clay pot with carrots, bok choy, and crunchy corn on the side. The half-boiled egg is also delicious. Halfway through the meal, I added some chili bean paste from the table. Mix it well and take a bite. Wow, the flavor has changed for the better. The salad is probably made with glass noodles. This refreshing salad goes perfectly with the rich clay pot rice. The thick soup also tastes great. Before I knew it, the restaurant was full. It's a popular, hidden gem. To accommodate the waiting customers, I say "thank you for the meal." It was a very satisfying meal.

The last time I came was around 2016-17 for the evening session. I used to come during the day quite often, but it had been a while since I entered around 1 pm on a weekday. The elevator and interior layout were just as I remembered. The chairs at the counter still had poor support. The majority of customers were women as usual, but it seems like the staff are now Chinese. The menu remains the same with no options, but I recall there used to be a large serving option. I overheard someone's bill and it was 1,000 yen (tax included), impressive that they are keeping the prices the same. The food arrived shortly, and I took a bite of the braised pork. The hot sauce was rich with the flavor of star anise, and the boiled vegetables were chunky, very satisfying. The glass noodle salad and soup were nostalgic, it tasted just like I remembered.

Stinky tofu, goat, and frog were on the menu. They also had several types of my favorite mushrooms. The restaurant offers local dishes that can be enjoyed without being particular about whether they are from Guangdong or elsewhere. If the individual items are this interesting, it's best to aim for a course meal with at least two people. Today's lunch in a clay pot had plenty of braised pork, with spices like star anise and sweet bean sauce, although I'm not entirely sure. It wasn't your typical Chinese restaurant dish, but it suited my taste. The rice that stuck to the clay pot was fun to scrape off with a spoon. I had been hesitant to visit due to its location, thinking it might be expensive, but once I got off at Exit 10 of the Marunouchi Line from Shinjuku, and went up the escalator, I found a down-to-earth restaurant on the third floor of a mixed-use building. It's located across from a karaoke place on the left side of the alley that is not towards the hotel. Today's lunch was sold out before 1 pm. It seems to be a popular place with many young female customers.

I visited for lunch. It is located on the 3rd floor of a mixed-use building near Akasaka-Mitsuke Station. The menu consists of only one dish, so there is no need to order. I arrived before 12 o'clock and was able to sit after a short wait. If it is crowded and there is no waiting area, it is better to gracefully leave. The spring roll salad is refreshing, and the soup has a strong shrimp flavor and is delicious. When you mix the clay pot rice well, the sweet and savory sauce coats it nicely, even creating a crispy crust. Adding the spicy miso on the table gives the clay pot rice a different flavor profile.

I had been curious about frog dishes and other unique menu items at the deep Chinese cuisine restaurant "Kuroneko Yoru," so I made a reservation at their Akasaka branch. After toasting with a glass of draft beer, we ordered the following dishes:
1) Assorted appetizers
- Garlic soy sauce-marinated princess conch
- Shaoxing wine-marinated edamame
- Eel liver five-spice jelly
- Pickled watermelon
- 2 other items
2) Shanghai black vinegar pork belly
3) Authentic mapo tofu
4) Five-meat fried rice
The assorted appetizers had a variety of options and were perfect for snacking with alcohol. The Shanghai black vinegar pork belly came in a generous portion, with a rich black vinegar flavor that complemented the meat well. The authentic mapo tofu arrived piping hot and packed with numbing and spicy flavors, balanced out by a hint of sweetness. The five-meat fried rice was crispy and flavorful, with a mix of savory tastes.
Although we ordered what seemed like traditional dishes, each item had its own unique twist that reflected Kuroneko Yoru's style. After enjoying two glasses of draft beer, we decided to try the "Kuroneko Yoru special selection of three sakes," which included "Tokko," "Shinko," and "Guest House Pure Palace." The sakes paired perfectly with the dishes, highlighting the great synergy between local cuisine and local alcohol. Despite the slightly rowdy atmosphere, sitting at the counter helped us avoid the worst of it. Overall, I found the restaurant to be better value for money than I had expected!

Today I visited this restaurant. Hainan Chicken Rice 1,000 yen, Clay Pot Rice. I was expecting Clay Pot Rice, but they also have Hainan Chicken Rice. They only have one menu, so once you sit down, they start cooking right away and the food comes out quickly. The Hainan Chicken Rice has a big eggplant in the middle, which adds a nice soft texture. The chicken is refreshing and delicious. The acidity of the egg and tomato is also good, making it quite tasty.

I rediscovered the deliciousness of Chinese cuisine at Kuroneko Yoru near Akasaka-Mitsuke Station. What surprised me first was the depth and complexity of the flavors. The perfect amount of spiciness and the aroma of spices intertwine exquisitely, and with each bite, various flavors unfold. In particular, the mapo tofu gave me a sensation as if my mouth was blooming with each bite. The ambiance of the restaurant is also wonderful, and the staff's service is polite and pleasant. The time spent enjoying a meal while being surrounded by a calm atmosphere and delicious food was truly a moment of bliss. It's a restaurant I would like to visit again.

I had a lunch of roast pork rice. The lunch menu only had one option, so it was impressive that it arrived in about 1 minute. The taste of the roast pork rice was average, but the side salad was delicious. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was calm and perfect for a lunch with colleagues.
