I've been hooked on yakitori-don lately. I've been going once a week. This day, I went to Toriyoshi in Toranomon. I ordered the yakitori-don from the master behind the counter. Most people around me also ordered the yakitori-don. Another customer ordered the torikatsu, which also looked delicious. The food arrived in less than 3 minutes, with miso soup and pickles on the side. The bowl was filled with minced chicken, liver, tsukune, tebasaki, chicken breast, shishito peppers, all looking visually appealing. The difference from other yakitori-don I've had is the generous amount of minced chicken. The perfectly grilled liver was amazing, with a soft texture and a juicy flavor. The aroma of the charred skin was irresistible. The salted tsukune and chicken breast were also perfectly grilled, complementing the gentle seasoning of the minced chicken and the perfectly cooked rice. For 1000 yen, the satisfaction and happiness from this meal were unmatched. This yakitori-don is currently my top choice. Thank you for the meal.

I entered the restaurant at 11:20, just 5 minutes after it opened. The counter seats were about half full. The interior was dimly lit with a nostalgic Showa era vibe, and it was well-maintained. I ordered the Yakitori Donburi for 1000 yen. It arrived in just 3 minutes! It had a variety of yakitori such as tsukune, liver, minced chicken, wings, and skin-on thigh meat, served generously over rice. The yakitori was cooked well-done and a bit dry. It seemed like they pre-cooked a batch and then added it to the rice upon order, which may have caused it to be overcooked. The seasoning was not too strong, giving it a refreshing taste. The rice was average. It came with miso soup and pickles. While eating, I suddenly remembered the delicious yakitori rice from a restaurant in Yurakucho that closed down a few years ago. I felt like having it again. I finished eating by 11:40, having spent 20 minutes in the restaurant. It was fully packed inside, with over 10 people waiting outside. Considering the quality and the short waiting time, it's easy to see why this place is so popular. The cost performance is amazing!

I ordered the chicken cutlet. While the grilled chicken bowl is a popular dish here, I decided to try something different as I usually eat it. There was no dressing on the cabbage, so I poured the sauce for the chicken cutlet over it, and it was delicious! I wonder what they grate and put in this sauce? The sauce alone is tasty. However, the chicken cutlet itself was disappointing as the coating was too hard, perhaps it was fried for too long? I will go back to eat the cabbage with this sauce. Thank you for the meal.

I waited in line for about 15 minutes to enter. As rumored, the yakitori grilled right in front of me was delicious. The minced chicken was not too sweet, and the liver was a bit dry! The cost performance was very good, so I would like to visit again for lunch.

Yakitori bowl for 1,000 yen at a shop near Toranomon Station. I decided to try their lunch yakitori bowl and visited the shop. I arrived 10 minutes before the opening time for lunch and got a spot because there were already 5 people waiting in line. However, more people started coming in looking for bento boxes. It seems like this place is quite popular. The lunch menu includes yakitori bowl, soboro bowl, chicken cutlet, and Inaniwa udon, but most people seem to order the yakitori bowl. The atmosphere is lively, with efficient staff serving customers and skilled chefs in the kitchen. The presentation was a bit messy, but the taste made up for it. The yakitori was well-cooked and included various parts like thigh meat, wings, liver, heart, meatballs, and shishito peppers. The soboro had a rich flavor that went well with the rice. The pickles were also nicely marinated. Overall, the quality was good for the price of 1,000 yen. I look forward to visiting again at night to experience a different atmosphere.

I visited around 13:30 on a regular day. There was only counter seating visible, but luckily there was one seat available and I was guided there. I always get nervous entering through sliding doors like this. Even before sitting down, the master-like person took my order and I felt a bit overwhelmed. Scenes like this can be scary. I ordered the grilled chicken bowl and waited eagerly in a proper posture. Soon enough, the grilled chicken bowl arrived. It was incredibly delicious. Grilled chicken on top of minced meat bowl! The sauce was there, but it was tasty enough as it is. I also enjoy pouring it on top. The miso soup was so hot that it made me sweat, haha. And all this for exactly 1000 yen, which is an amazing deal. The cost performance is top-notch around here, and the taste was superb. It seems they only accept cash for lunch, so be aware of that.

I arrived at the restaurant after confirming with a last-minute phone call due to using my time late at night on weekdays. It was my first time, so I ordered the "omakase" set of 7 skewers. The skewers I tried were: chicken tenderloin (medium rare inside), liver (not too rare and easy to eat), heart (firm texture, delicious), meatball (chunky texture with good bite), quail (perfectly grilled skin), neck meat (strong umami flavor, good combination of chewy and tender), and chicken wings (perfect thickness, delicious seasoning and char). I also ordered additional skewers later, but many were sold out due to the late hour. All vegetable skewers were available. The skewer that connects liver and heart was interesting in terms of texture and flavor. The yakitori here is overall focused on enjoying the charred flavor. They serve it piping hot, and you can get a refill of the initial appetizer. The Inaniwa udon was refreshing and delicious, just the right portion for one person. The porridge was full of chicken umami. They also offer a half-size option for the final dish. I was able to eat a satisfying amount, and the cost performance is quite good in this area. I would like to visit again.

I visited around 1 PM on a weekday with almost no wait time. I ordered the most popular dish, yakitori donburi, which includes chicken thigh, wings, liver, meatball, and minced chicken. They will accommodate if you don't like liver. The chicken was grilled well and had a satisfying bite for women. The second most popular dish is chicken cutlet. Please note that they only accept cash for payment.

I went to "Toritoyoshi" for lunch during my business trip to Tokyo. It is located just south of the Kasumigaseki government district, near Toranomon, close to where I had previously visited an Indian restaurant called Nirvanam. I arrived before 12 o'clock, so I was able to get in without waiting in line. I ordered the Yakitori Donburi (1,000 yen), which was a luxurious bowl filled with a variety of grilled chicken skewers, including meatballs and liver, topped with a generous serving of minced chicken. The slightly charred aroma from grilling over charcoal was very pleasant. The meatballs were especially delicious. The restaurant was quite dimly lit, making it difficult to see, but I accidentally bit into a chicken wing bone, which surprised me. However, the chicken wings were incredibly tasty. I would like to come back in the evening, but I imagine it would be more expensive at night.

Today I had work in Shinbashi. I finished quickly aiming for lunch and hurried to the yakitori bowl! We were able to get in smoothly at 11:30 and sat in the back. Since there were three of us, we ordered three yakitori bowls side by side! There was sauce available as well, and all three of us finished it in no time.

There are many government offices in Kasumigaseki, and if you walk a bit further, you will find many dining options in Toranomon and Shinbashi. At 11:30, I visited Toriyoshi, located on the first floor of a mixed-use building in Kasumigaseki. Personally, I was surprised to find a restaurant in this location. It seems to be a yakitori specialty restaurant with only counter seats, mainly attracting male customers but also some female customers. My intuition tells me that this place is a hidden gem frequented by employees of major corporations and government officials. However, the atmosphere is not formal, and it also gives off a classy izakaya vibe at night. I ordered the yakitori donburi lunch set, which is reasonably priced at 1000 yen considering the location. Many customers also ordered the same, and there were some taking out as well. The donburi arrived in about 15 minutes, and the yakitori had a rich aroma and a good amount of variety, including liver, thigh meat, tsukune (chicken meatballs), and skin, all looking fresh. The minced chicken on top was a nice touch. The yakitori was well-cooked with a satisfying texture, and for the quality and portion size, I couldn't believe it was only 1000 yen for lunch in this area. By noon, a line had formed outside, indicating its popularity. I would love to come back for dinner as well. The yakitori, marinated with a secret sauce passed down for about 40 years, was delicious and it's easy to see why it has captivated even the most discerning palates. Thank you for the meal. There is a yakitori restaurant in Toranomon. They offer a high cost-performance yakitori bowl for lunch. I was working at the Hibiya Library that day, and when I opened Tabelog to decide where to have lunch, I was only checking out cafes for some reason. However, I found this place had good reviews! So, I decided to go there. I smoothly passed through the tall buildings of Kasumigaseki, entered a narrow alley, and found a cool-looking restaurant. It is located within easy reach from Toranomon, Kasumigaseki, and Uchisaiwaicho. I avoided the busy lunch hour and arrived around 1:00 PM. As soon as I opened the door, a female staff member greeted me with a smile and efficiently served the customers. The counter was filled with office workers, but there were a few empty seats, so I sat there. They promptly served me cold barley tea. There are tables for groups in the back, and a 2-person table near the entrance, but it seems like you will be seated at the counter by default. You can order by calling out to the chef behind the counter, and they will prepare your order. Since it was my first time, I decided to go with the yakitori bowl! After ordering, I noticed from the menu that they can accommodate requests like no liver or no minced chicken. I'm not a big fan of liver, so I should have asked for it to be removed, but I decided to try it anyway! After about 5 minutes of waiting, the yakitori bowl was served. It was served quite quickly, but the yakitori bowl of the person next to me took longer to be served, so maybe I got lucky with the timing. The yakitori bowl with soup and pickles (¥1,000) had a very nice charcoal aroma. It was warm, and it seemed like it was not long since it was grilled. The bowl consisted of tsukune, chicken wings, liver, thigh meat, shishito pepper, and minced chicken. There was a lot of minced chicken, which I love, so it was okay! The tsukune had the most savory aroma and a rich flavor, and it was delicious. Since the dish was not heavily seasoned with sauce, those who want more flavor may want to adjust it with shichimi spice, for example. I personally liked it as it was, light and tasty. The liver was very tender, and it seemed to be slightly raw. I don't have many opportunities to eat liver, so maybe this is how it's supposed to be. The soup was not miso soup but chicken soup, and it had a somewhat strong smell. I prefer regular miso soup, so this may be a matter of personal preference. I think the portion of rice is quite generous for women, so next time I would like to try customizing it with less rice and changing the liver. Considering the taste, portion, and location, having lunch for ¥1,000 in this area seems too good to be true, but in terms of taste, portion, and location, I think the cost performance is quite good♡ It was a satisfying lunchtime watching the chef at work. I visited Toriyoshi for the first time. I arrived a little after 12 pm and there were 6 people waiting outside. Luckily, I was able to be seated at the counter in just over 10 minutes as it was a changeover time. I ordered the yakitori bowl for 1000 yen, and whether it was minced chicken, liver, wings, etc., everything was delicious. The amount of meat was more than the rice, and it was very filling. Next time, I want to come at night and enjoy yakitori and drinks leisurely. Thank you for the meal.

On my second visit, I arrived exactly at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday and was relieved to find no line outside. I opened the door and entered the restaurant, which was packed with the savory smell of grilled chicken skewers. I ordered the yakitori rice bowl with a soft-boiled egg and was seated shortly after. Since it was a lunch for salarymen, the turnover was quick and my order arrived in about 5 minutes. Today, I had the yakitori rice bowl with a soft-boiled egg, which looked nice and included chicken thigh, wings, liver, and meatballs - all of which were rich in flavor and delicious. The liver was especially amazing. The meat was so tasty that the flavor of the egg seemed to fade away more than I had expected. The minced chicken was also delicious. I will definitely come back again!

The other day, after eating a mysterious chicken dish in Shinbashi, I couldn't resist craving the yakitori bowl from there. Of course, with a soft-boiled egg on top. Although the quality seems slightly down from past photos, it's still worth the 1000 yen. I feel like I end up eating here 2-3 times a month. As for the upcoming season, I recommend the set with Inaniwa udon. I always go for the cold udon option. The perfectly chilled Inaniwa udon paired with a small yakitori bowl is a delightful combination. I think this will be my go-to dish for the summer.

It used to be a top-rated yakitori restaurant, so the "yakitori don" at Toriyoshi is a taste that I crave regularly. The place is always packed with salarymen during lunchtime. When you enter the restaurant, there is a lot of smoke from grilling yakitori. Even though it's not listed on the menu, if you ask for it, they will add a soft-boiled egg on top for free. It's a little-known fact. It is served in about 2-3 minutes. The freshly grilled liver, tsukune, and chicken wings on top emit a delicious aroma. Underneath, there is a bed of minced chicken, making it a truly delicious yakitori don. Personally, this is the best yakitori don I've ever had! You can also customize your yakitori don by adding more grilled chicken or removing anything you don't like. I have also visited for dinner, and it's a completely different experience. I recommend taking your time to enjoy some drinks in the evening.

It's a popular restaurant so there's always a line, but the turnover is fast so it's worth waiting. The smell of the charcoal-grilled chicken is strong throughout the restaurant, but once you taste it, it's actually quite enjoyable. The savory aroma of the charcoal fire, the deliciousness of the chicken, especially the liver which is so tender and amazing (if you're not picky). When you consider the time and effort put into it, it's really good value. Even though it's not on the menu, the person next to me had a chicken skewer bowl with a poached egg on top (can you even do that?!). Next time I go, I want to try the liver and chicken skewers, I hope I can get them in a larger portion...
