After half a year, I had lunch at Tamagawa Takashimaya, which was crowded despite going slightly off the usual lunch hours. Even in this relatively less crowded restaurant, there were two groups of customers ahead of me. It was my second visit in 5 years. The interior had Hawaiian music playing and the staff were dressed in pareos, giving a Hawaiian vibe in Japan. Although the sea was not visible, being on the 9th floor of Tamagawa Takashimaya South Wing, you could see the Tama River outside the window. There was also a terrace, but it was not usable due to rain and strong winds that day. It's a pity because on a clear winter day, you can see Mount Fuji. The restaurant was full, so it took some time for the food to arrive. The Beef Special Plate for 2,000 yen was served on an extra-large plate, about 50 cm long. It included salad, poke, sixteen-grain rice, beef steak, and garlic shrimp. The generous amount of salad was delightful. The poke had small pieces of tuna and cucumber making it a bit difficult to eat. The steak was thin and had a lot of tendons, making it hard to chew. Overall, the seasoning was strong, so I had to take some sauce off before eating. There was also a gentle consomme soup included in the set. I also ordered the Hawaiian Potato for 740 yen, which was topped with sweet chili sauce and cheese, and it was delicious. The Mochiko Chicken Plate for 1,480 yen had a large, crispy, and juicy fried chicken. The Acai Bowl was voluminous. The Special Plate had a special feel to it and looked great. Despite the tough steak, the other dishes were tasty. The seating was spacious, and there were many families with children. On a sunny day, the view is fantastic, making it a great choice for a lunch meeting.
