It was a restaurant where Chinese was spoken more than Japanese. There were many seats and a lot of customers, but the staff's consideration and hospitality were amazing. It was surprising to see nail services, Nivea hand cream, and Dyson hair dryers in the restroom! The hot pot was delicious, but it was quite spicy, so it's recommended to go easy on the spiciness. It's fun to have unlimited access to condiments.

There are more and more authentic Chinese hot pot restaurants opening in Japan, but when it comes to hot pot, Haidilao is the best. You can make your own dipping sauce, and enjoy unlimited edamame, mapo tofu, and fruits. The drink bar is also a great deal at only 110 yen. The Ueno branch has a spacious and open atmosphere, but currently the kids' space is closed.

The Chinese-style pork intestine hot pot soup was delicious and the service was excellent. I also loved the assorted mushrooms. I like to put meat in my spicy hot pot and it tastes great, but be careful because it gets a bit spicy when you add vegetables. So if you're not good with spicy food, you should be cautious.

This day, I went to Ueno. There was a coupon for unlimited drinks starting from midnight, so I visited Hai Di Lao Hot Pot Ueno store after midnight. I always finish work late, so I was very happy with this coupon! The building surroundings were dark, and I was worried if they were really open at this time, but the inside of the restaurant was very lively! Most of the customers seemed to be Chinese. I showed the drink coupon and said, "I'll have this," but it took a while for the staff to understand. After about 30 minutes of back and forth, it turned out that the unlimited drink options were only beer and highball. Still, a great deal! This time, I didn't use the coupon but ordered a regular drink. A oolong highball for 150 yen, so cheap and strong! While I was negotiating, they brought watermelon from the buffet bar, and I was grateful. They even brought more after I finished eating. Grateful. The hot pot had two types of soup, spicy and lemon. The spicy one wasn't really spicy, a bit disappointing. Personally, I prefer soups with less oil. It was my third stop, so I focused on vegetables, and the winter melon and pig intestines were delicious. Thank you for the meal. I made a reservation in advance to celebrate my friend's birthday, but it was terrible. The table we were seated at was uncomfortable, and there were plenty of better tables available. I asked to be moved to a different table, but they refused. I wanted to have a peaceful meal, that's why I made a reservation in the first place, but it felt like the reservation didn't matter. They also didn't fulfill the surprise request I had made in advance, and I was really disappointed. I regret choosing this restaurant.

Personally, I feel that Haidilao is much better in terms of service, ingredients, and hygiene compared to other Chinese hot pot restaurants in Tokyo. Even at the previous prices, I believe it offers better value for money than other places. If I were to eat the same hot pot for 5,000 yen, I would definitely choose Haidilao. Choosing another restaurant would be inviting criticism and being made fun of by the owner. Dishes to avoid: Some new drinks have been introduced, but the matcha coconut juice and yangzhi ganlu were not tasty. They were very thick and very sweet, with impure flavors. The four caridean shrimp in the photo (not wild-caught) are alive but not very active. They cost over 1,000 yen for four. You can buy 500g (at least 30 shrimp) for 3,500 yen in a nearby Chinatown. The cooking method is the same - boil in hot water for 3 minutes. When eating these shrimp, do not dip them in sauce. There's no need to eat them at Haidilao. Everything else was average, and I plan to go back.

Celebrating a birthday at a three-person girls' party. When we arrived, the area in front of the elevator was crowded with waiting customers, the restaurant was full, and it seemed like there was no point in making a reservation. When we asked the staff how much longer we had to wait, they said they could seat us at a small table for two, but we declined. We were eventually seated at a table for four after a 20-30 minute wait. The menu where they flip the noodles was incredibly slow, so it's better to remind the staff. We had mentioned the birthday in the reservation, but the staff didn't know until we quietly told them, then they quickly accommodated us. Around 10pm, the restaurant started to empty out, and the staff were able to attend to our large group. Overall, it was fun, but if you have a specific purpose for your visit, the wait times may be a drawback.

Girls' night out. Since it's summer, we decided to go for hot pot at this place we were curious about. It seems to be a Chinese chain restaurant. The interior is incredibly spacious, like a big family restaurant. Even with a reservation, we had to wait for some reason. That was the only downside. Other than that, the service was excellent. The staff were very attentive and helpful, explaining anything we didn't understand. They also had a show where performers changed masks and went around entertaining guests at their tables. The restroom was very clean and had various amenities, which was impressive! The service was outstanding, not what you would expect from a Chinese chain. The hot pot soup was not too spicy, more on the mellow side, and it was one of the best I've had. You order various items individually. We got a bit carried away with our initial order, so we ended up with leftover meat. The touch panel makes it easy to order more items. They also have a sauce bar where you can create your own sauces, which was a great feature. They had options like chive sauce, fish sauce, Chinese soy sauce, black vinegar, cilantro, pickled vegetables, garlic, sesame oil, and more. They even had recommended combinations listed, which was very helpful. They also had ponzu and sesame sauce, so you can rest assured. The meat, vegetables, and gluten were all delicious! This place is a definite repeat for me. The only downside is that they don't offer all-you-can-drink. Thanks for the meal.

Sea Floor Tower in Ueno. There were only a lot of tourists. I felt curious that they were having hot pot as a travel destination, maybe they are from China. There was a show like a Chinese Happy Birthday, and the staff were all Chinese, seemed like they were on a trip in Japan. It was a fun restaurant where you can feel like you're on a trip. They had a sauce bar where you can enjoy various spices and adjust the spiciness, which was nice! It's a chain restaurant with a strong entertainment vibe, so I was surprised, but the taste was not bad. The meat also had a pretty high-quality feel. I thought the staff's follow-up and service were excellent. It was delicious, but I couldn't avoid getting stomach ache the next day, and I want to avoid feeling unwell the day after eating hot pot. However, maybe because it's crowded, the restroom was too dirty, it was off-putting. It's not a train station restroom, so I wish they would clean it more frequently!

I have been to Shinjuku and Ikebukuro, but Ueno store is my first time. I do not recommend Shinjuku store for families with children due to its location. Ikebukuro store is okay, it is conveniently located near Ueno-hirokoji station and there are no shady areas around. After visiting here, you can also go to Ameyoko's Chinatown and feel like you are on a little overseas trip. In terms of spiciness, it is the least spicy among the authentic Chinese restaurants.

I have visited the Chinese hot pot chain restaurant "Hai Di Lao Hot Pot" several times because it is fun and delicious. You can easily order using a touch panel and customize your own sauce, similar to Japanese shabu-shabu chains. They also have unique services like the "Kung Fu Noodles" performance where they stretch noodles while dancing, and the staff singing a Chinese birthday song to celebrate. Additionally, they have a nail salon for some reason, and the women's restroom is equipped with a Dyson hairdryer (lol). I was particularly impressed by their hospitality towards customers with children. They provide chairs, tableware, fruits, toys, and even desserts like pudding. The staff always pay attention to children and help mothers focus on their meal. The service may seem a bit too close for some Japanese people, but I was truly impressed. I hope more restaurants like this will open. I mainly talked about the service, but the food is also delicious. Even the lowest level of spiciness in the "ma la" hot pot is quite spicy (I usually like spicy food, but still). The sauce is quite salty and junky, but strangely addictive. After eating, my face gets swollen and I have stomach issues the next day, but I still want to go back. Thank you for the meal!

I went to a hot pot restaurant in Ueno back when I didn't take many photos for reviews, but first of all, I want to mention that this place is not in Japan. It's in the advanced country of China!! Robots carry the ingredients, and all the staff are happy. The interior of the restaurant feels like a futuristic city ahead of Japan, in China! The restroom is incredibly clean, and everything in it is amazing!! If you're curious, you must visit at least once. The restaurant itself feels like a tourist spot. It's interesting to see mostly Asian customers and not many Japanese people there!!

Hot pot is the most popular in the Chinese-speaking world♡ Regardless, Hai Di Lao always gives me peace of mind. I feel like going there regularly. The taste is great... and the service is even better!! You can even charge your phone from your seat! For some reason, there's even a Daiso in the restroom. lol It's always almost full whenever I go, so I understand why it's so popular! (*^▽^*) Make sure to make a reservation on holidays! It gets really crowded. The hot pot sauce bar is well-stocked and enjoyable. The set course is a better deal, but I recommend ordering various things you like. I think even Japanese people can handle the spiciness of Hai Di Lao's hot pot. On this day, there was an event and we even received roses. Ah, so happy! It was great to find a hot pot place open late into the night. Based on the staff's recommendation, I tried the 4-color hot pot. I can't remember exactly what I ordered since it was late at night, but I think it was the drinkable mala soup, deliciously spicy mala soup, plain soup, and pork intestine soup. You can order ingredients using an iPad. Recommended ingredients include winter melon, wood ear mushrooms, sweet potato vermicelli, and optional cilantro. You can create your own sauce from a variety of options, including sesame sauce, ponzu, Sichuan pepper oil, black vinegar, and more. I added extra cilantro and was very satisfied. As for the spiciness, the super spicy soup I ordered was indeed very spicy with a nice Sichuan pepper numbing sensation. The soup was so delicious that I could drink it. I love the hot pot at the Undersea restaurant so much that I keep coming back. This was my first time at the Ueno branch, and the interior was beautiful. All the staff are Chinese, but they provide very polite service. The menu is detailed and allows you to order exactly what you want to eat, and being able to choose from 4 different types of hot pot was very satisfying.

The restaurant is mostly filled with Chinese people, with a few other foreigners but hardly any Japanese. The waiting time is apparently free at the nail salon. You can enjoy hot pot by choosing your favorite base broth, and it's recommended to order a la carte and add various items instead of going for a set course. We added beef, pork, lamb, vegetables, and mushrooms to customize our own hot pot, and enjoyed creating our own dipping sauces using the condiments available at the buffet corner. You can also enjoy plenty of fruits from the buffet corner, with around two types available. The atmosphere is lively with mask performances and Kung Fu shows, as well as birthday songs in Chinese. Since I'm not an expert, I left everything to my friend.
