I felt like eating horse sashimi, so I went to the restaurant with my friends. The first floor was full, so we were seated on the second floor. The atmosphere was very welcoming, and I noticed there were even seats on the third floor. We ordered a variety of horse sashimi and fresh oysters, with horse meat and oysters being the main focus. The appetizer included horse meat sushi, which was seared right in front of us, adding to the excitement. The fillet sashimi and fresh oysters were particularly delicious. The staff were friendly and we had a great time. I would love to visit again when exploring the downtown area.

I was captivated by the grilled appetizer ♡ I was also happy to be informed in advance about the crowded conditions. The horse sashimi was very delicious. Everything was delicious, but I especially liked the whitefish ponzu more than other restaurants and had seconds ✨ And the oysters were exquisite!! The Japanese sake that paired well with the horse and oysters was also delicious, and I wanted to keep eating it ✨ I will definitely visit again! ( * ॑꒳ ॑*)✨

About a 3-minute walk from Asakusabashi Station East Exit. The store has a cool atmosphere. The seating capacity is small due to the narrow layout, but it makes it easy to interact with the staff, and the owner in the kitchen also gives helpful nods. It's a shame that they didn't have fresh oysters, whether due to reducing inventory during the pandemic or simply being sold out. The combination of horse sashimi and oysters is interesting, so I plan to visit again.

I found a restaurant where you can eat horse sashimi and oysters! It's located just a 1-minute walk from Asakusabashi Station East Exit, so it's very convenient. The quality and price of the horse sashimi and oysters may vary depending on the day's supply, but it's quite cost-effective. The restaurant is always full, which shows its popularity. They have a wide selection of Japanese sake, and the service is excellent. I definitely want to go back to this restaurant. Thank you!

I have been going to the Nishiguchi Honten for over 5 years, and even after the Higashiguchi store opened, I continued to go there to eat horse sashimi. This time, after about half a year, when I went back, I found out that the friendly former manager had quit due to health reasons. I ordered the Akamidzanzai, but was surprised to see that it only came with four types of horse sashimi on a black plate with onions. It was not as luxurious as before. The meat sushi that came as a complimentary dish was tough and hard to swallow. The 100 yen service of bonito sashimi was fishy. The condiments were like tube garlic and ginger, lacking in flavor. I asked if I could still use my 10-point loyalty card that I earned as soon as I entered the restaurant, but in the end, the service was forgotten. Even though I had visited the restaurant 10 times and was a regular customer, the hospitality and service were disappointing. I was also displeased to see the new manager speaking harshly to a foreign staff member in front of customers. It was a restaurant I had frequented so much, but the taste and service had declined, so I was disappointed and will not be going back again.

I went to see a miniature photography exhibition that caught my eye in a branch ~ (๑´ㅂ`๑) Since I was already there, I decided to wander around Asakusabashi station and ended up at a restaurant where I thought I wouldn't normally go. I love horse meat and oysters, so I decided to give it a try. It was before 6:30 pm and there was only one group of customers ahead of us. The restaurant had a small first floor seating area and I was told there was also a second floor seating area. As soon as we entered, they took our coats for us! We started with a highball toastヽ(*゚∀゚)ノヽ(゚∀゚*)ノ The dishes we had were: ☆Seared horse meat sushi - It was so delicious that I understand why it's a regular menu item. ☆Seared horse meat cartilage - It was similar to whitefish milt. I preferred it with salt over sauce. ☆Bonito sashimi - Only 100 yen! Great value and no fishy smell. ☆Seared horse liver - It had a great texture and a unique horse meat flavor, perfect as a side dish! The restaurant had the door open, making it a bit cold inside, but they served clam soup when we paid the bill which was comforting. It would have been better if they closed the door though (´TωT`) Unfortunately, they didn't have oysters because it was Golden Week. The foreign female staff and the manager were both kind and if it wasn't for the cold, it would have been a cozy place to dine. Thank you for the meal!

This is a very inconspicuous and underrated restaurant. I used to pass by the street where this restaurant is located countless times, but I never noticed it because the exterior was so ordinary. However, one day I decided to explore and ended up finding a great restaurant. It was a horse meat and fresh oyster place, which was a pleasant surprise. The seating was not very comfortable, with pipe chairs, but the food was excellent. The meat sushi was seared with a gas burner and the presentation was beautiful. The shochu was also very delicious. I only saw the first floor seating, but there seemed to be a second floor as well. I had a great time at this restaurant and would love to visit again. They also had a special offer where you could get a plate of horse mackerel for just 100 yen per group, which was amazing.

Late January 2019, first visit! This izakaya is located right next to the entrance of Gingo-oka Hachimangu Shrine, heading north from the east exit of JR Asakusabashi Station! * It is located in a side street off Edo Street. We used it for a banquet and rented out the third floor for about 25 people! It felt cramped and narrow when sitting down... It's probably best for around 15 people in terms of space! As for the food, it's decent. It might be better if you go with the banquet menu. I was happy because the horse sashimi came with sweet soy sauce from Kumamoto! There were also corn! However, the service for drinks was efficient and I appreciated that! Everyone should definitely give it a try!! Waita

It was a company year-end party with a group reservation. The 4000 yen course included all-you-can-drink. The food included fresh spring rolls, salad, horse meat sashimi, horse meat stew pasta, french fries, fried oysters, and horse meat sushi. However, the first four dishes came out quickly, but then we waited almost an hour for the rest of the food. Right before last call, they suddenly brought out a huge plate of french fries. And almost at the same time as last call, they brought out the meat sushi. The horse meat sashimi was also served with a brief explanation of "we have light soy sauce and sweet soy sauce." Huh? Which one is which, and where are the condiments? And the most concerning part was that the staff kept bumping into our table and dropping dishes multiple times. It made us nervous that something might break. The drinks were also slow, and when I asked if they had beer pitchers, they said they couldn't do that for all-you-can-drink, but offered to bring one complimentary beer. It was a bit confusing. Overall, it felt like a lot of things were not quite right, and I couldn't relax. Perhaps it was because it was a busy season, but still...

I have been going to this restaurant for many years, but I am disappointed to see that both the taste of the food and the level of customer service have been declining. The floor staff handling customer service are foreigners. I understand that there are differences in customer service levels and manners between overseas and Japan, but if you are going to have foreigners serving customers, they should be taught the minimum customer service methods before being allowed to work on the floor. This is the responsibility of the restaurant owner, not the foreign staff, and I believe it is a problem. When I first visited the Nishiguchi main store about five years ago, the taste of the food and the owner's personality were both very good, and it was my favorite restaurant... I hope that they will see this feedback and return to the way they used to be.
The fresh horse sashimi was delicious. I enjoyed various parts such as thigh, fillet, belly, tongue, mane, and more.

I ordered the assorted sashimi platter. The portion size was significantly different from the photo. However, the taste of the other menu items was good.

The second floor was a non-smoking area. I tried both the horse meat and oysters, and they were both delicious. There was a wide variety of shochu and sake, making the meal enjoyable. Thank you very much.
