Tonight, I visited a new Cantonese restaurant that opened last year in Azabu-Juban. For lunch, I had exciting fun at the "Dinosaur Science Exhibition" at Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi after having lunch in Shibuya. The restaurant is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from the station. I invited a gentleman friend to enjoy some delicious Chinese cuisine. The interior had a calm setting with counter seats. We started with a toast with TSINGTAO beer, followed by a Hakushu highball. The gentle start with Chinese cuisine was a refreshing experience. The dishes included crab meat and chestnut porridge, lotus root with jellyfish, eel with salted duck egg, stir-fried scallops with red koji, steamed monkfish with plum slices, crispy shrimp rice rolls, vegetable dish with turnip and water spinach, stir-fried lobster with vermicelli, spicy octopus cold noodles, snail shell fried rice, almond tofu dessert, and coconut dumplings. The chef, Adachi, previously worked at the Cantonese restaurant "Akasaka Rikyu" and then trained at a Sichuan cuisine restaurant in Hiroo called "Pyaoshan." The influence of these unique spice cuisines can be seen in the depth of the dishes. The variety of dishes was abundant yet light, and the chef's gentle demeanor reflected in the cuisine. I couldn't help but wonder if a bit more boldness in the dishes would add to the overall experience.

Chuuka ryouri no Ippin Hanten is a restaurant that opened in March last year and earned a Michelin star. It's located a bit hard to find, about a 5-minute walk from Azabu-Juuban Station. Their dishes, made without using artificial seasonings, are all delicious and make you want to keep eating. Especially the deep-fried conger eel, soup so delicious that even monks come running, whole roasted pork, steamed rock oysters, stir-fried hollow heart vegetables, lobster hot pot, stir-fried mushrooms, and the finishing dish of char siu and egg over rice were all incredibly tasty.

Once I find a place I like, I tend to keep going back and don't really explore new restaurants much. This is especially true for Chinese cuisine, but this time, thanks to a recommendation from a friend, I visited "Ippei Restaurant" for the first time. The chef, with a wide background including Cantonese and Sichuan cuisine, prepared a meticulously crafted 12-course meal, which included dishes like crab with corn, sea cucumber with lotus root, grilled conger eel, and scallops. The overall dining experience was characterized by a gentle and soothing taste profile, although it felt a bit monotonous at times, leaving me craving for more contrast in flavors. The atmosphere was serene throughout, quite different from the lively image of Chinese cuisine typically associated with the clanging of woks. Viewing it as a "serene Chinese dining experience" rather than a bustling one, I found it to be quite refreshing. The chef, who appeared to greet us after the meal, exuded a quiet demeanor, which I felt was also reflected in the dishes. While there wasn't a particular standout dish, looking back, there was a subtle sense of satisfaction in having enjoyed a good meal. I am grateful to my friend for the wonderful recommendation and for always taking care of me. Thank you very much!

The coconut and abalone milk stir-fry was very delicious. The barbecued lobster with barbecue sauce was also excellent. While some of the other dishes were a bit lacking, the desserts were surprisingly delicious. In particular, the almond tofu and shiratama with Shine Muscat are highly recommended!

It was my first time at this restaurant. I had a delicious meal with dishes like crab and chestnut rice porridge, crab, onion, edamame, lotus root, jellyfish salad, and coconut sweet soup. The steamed dumplings, crispy pigeon, and various seafood dishes were also excellent. The dessert made with black glutinous rice was a perfect ending to the meal. I had a great time at this restaurant and will definitely come back again! Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Delicious Chinese food that I want to visit again! The restaurant has a chic interior with a main counter, not like a typical Chinese restaurant, but simple and stylish. It's great that there are many different dishes to enjoy. I ordered a glass of champagne and wine, and the wine went well with the trendy Chinese cuisine!

First visit! I tried the course with black abalone and grouper. There were quite a few types of champagne and bottles available ☺️ The dishes had a strong broth flavor, which was just right for both drinkers and non-drinkers. The portion size was just right too.

This place is a genuine Chinese restaurant with mixed reviews, honestly, it's not for me! I wish the flavors were more tailored to Japanese tastes! It's disappointing that the dishes are not cooked in front of you. The presentation of just eating the dishes that come out lacks a bit. The service is excellent. Thank you for the meal!

A Chinese restaurant located in the back of Motoazabu in Azabu-Juban. It opened yesterday and quickly became a popular spot. Chef Ippei Adachi has trained at places like Akasaka Rikyu and has a craftsman-like quality. The interior is refined with high-quality plaster finishes. The course is set at 22,000 yen (plus tax) and offers a satisfying experience. The dishes have delicate textures and flavors, showcasing a high level of skill and creativity. Some of the dishes include Chicken and Fish Porridge, Octopus Salad with XO Sauce, Eel and Salted Egg, and more. The presentation is elegant and the overall dining experience is sophisticated and luxurious. The menu changes every two months, so I definitely want to visit again.

The exterior and interior atmosphere of the restaurant are great, and the overall satisfaction level is high due to the combination of price and taste (the intricacy of ingredient pairing). Among modern Chinese restaurants, I feel that the precision of the course composition is high! The high level of completion makes this restaurant a delightful place, especially since the menu changes every two months.

Starting from 9 p.m., it transforms into a large plate restaurant under the name "Yehong Kong," offering a unique business style. Mr. Ippai Adachi, who connects Hong Kong and Japan, uses high-quality Japanese ingredients based on Cantonese cuisine learned from his experience in Hong Kong. Starting the course with porridge was inspired by the essence of tea kaiseki. Seeking a light taste in the superior broth, the essence of vegetables and seafood is brought out by extracting broth from defatted Jinhua ham. The 18-course meal is packed with Hong Kong flavors, ranging from local "Ke" dishes like grilled dishes and dim sum to "Hale" dishes using premium dried goods such as shark fin. Each dish is a star. The most impressive is the "Shark Fin Steamed Soup with Superior Broth." The deep umami of the superior broth permeates the shark fin, creating a gentle flavor. There is a deep dedication to the superior broth used in various dishes, carefully adjusting the heat using ingredients like chicken and Jinhua ham to create a luxurious and exquisite soup. The soup is delicious, making all other dishes equally delightful. The highlight of this restaurant is the simple composition that showcases the ingredients and the subtle flavors that do not overwhelm the palate. Perfect for business occasions like welcome and farewell parties, as well as special occasions like anniversaries, dates, and birthday celebrations. Enjoy your meal... "Ippei Restaurant" is a newly opened Chinese restaurant that has already won a Michelin star in March. It is affiliated with the Momosenkaku in Roppongi and offers Cantonese cuisine. From 9 p.m., the restaurant changes its name to "Night Hong Kong" and serves large plate dishes only in a 24,200 yen chef's choice course. The course allows you to enjoy a variety of dishes in small portions. Personally, I felt that overall it was a bit too light in flavor. It would have been even better with a few more dishes that pack a punch in taste. Despite being Chinese cuisine, it is not oily but rather refined and elegant Cantonese cuisine. The chef greets you at the beginning and end, but seemed a bit shy. - Restaurant Name: Ippei Restaurant - Google Maps: Ippei Restaurant 050-3033-3946 https://maps.app.goo.gl/LNUtb6qatDaSX4wp8?g_st=ic - Nearest Station: 5-minute walk from Azabu-Juban Station, 382m from Azabu-Juban Station - Opening Hours: 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. - Regular Holiday: Irregular, mainly Sundays and Mondays - Reservation: Available - Seating: 19 seats (8 counter seats, 4 private rooms for 4 people each) - Budget: 20,000 to 29,999 yen - Other Information: Private rooms available for 2, 4, 6, and 8 people (connect 2 private rooms to accommodate up to 8 people), private reservations available, all seats non-smoking, no parking available - Hashtags: #IppeiRestaurant #AzabuGourmet #AzabuDinner #ChineseCuisine #DeliciousChineseFood #TokyoChinese #FoodiesConnect #GourmetInstagram #FoodieFriendsWanted #FoodTerrorInstagram #FoodTerrorist #TabeLog #TabeLogGram #FoodTravel #DeliciousIsHappiness #GourmetFriendsWanted #FoodieClub #FoodieGirls #FoodieBoys #ConnectWithFoodies #KantoGourmet #FoodReviewGram #GourmetReport #FoodWriter #BGradeGourmetInfo #TokyoFood"

The omakase course (24,200 yen including tax) at Ippaihanten in Azabujuban is fantastic! The steamed clam with clam aroma is amazingly delicious with the plump clams. The steamed sea bass with lotus leaf and bean paste has a wonderful lotus leaf fragrance and is superb. The Ise lobster hot pot is a definite winner. The tantanmen noodles have a rich and incredibly tasty soup. The almond tofu is silky smooth and melts in your mouth. Ippaihanten in Azabujuban opens at 7:30 PM, and their Chinese cuisine is always exciting with a great menu lineup. They offer sake pairings, and the drinks served are top-notch. #ChineseCuisine #Azabujuban #Ippaihanten #DimSum #DimSumLover #ChineseFoodie #GourmetLover #IseLobster #Tantanmen #AlmondTofu #TokyoGourmet #MinatoWardGourmet #AzabujubanGourmet #AzabujubanDinner #CheungFan #FuguMilt #CounterChinese #Omakase #chinesefood #tokyo #azabujuban #dinner

I started a gourmet website "Mitomi Emon". Homepage "https://blog.33inc.jp/" Instagram "@mitomi_emon". Visited the Chinese restaurant "Ippai Hanten" in Motoazabu. Led by talented chef Ippei Adachi, who honed his skills in Hong Kong and Tokyo. The restaurant earned one Michelin star shortly after opening in 2022. The course features a variety of small portions, showcasing the chef's wide range of skills. The flavors are generally gentle, with an approach reminiscent of Japanese cuisine. The lineup includes dishes such as "Spring White Shrimp Congee", "Shaoxing Drunken Rice Fish", "Deep-fried Silver Fish Spring Rolls", "Mustard-dressed Sea Jellyfish Skin", "Red Yeast Stir-fried Scallops and Surf Clams", "Buddha Jumps Over the Wall Soup Dumplings", "Steamed Black Abalone with Sakura Shrimp", "Crispy Shrimp Cheung Fun", "Suburban Canola Far", "Today's Persimmon Sorbet", "Phoenix City Dragon Pot", "Fluorescent Squid and Shrimp Roe Tossed Noodles", "Tiger Chicken and Pufferfish Soup Fried Rice", and "Dessert Almond Tofu".

I was so impressed by the great value last time that I immediately revisited. This time, we visited with three people and enjoyed our meal at a private table instead of the counter. It seems that the private room is also okay for families with children. I might come with my family next time. Today's soup was also incredibly delicious. The first mouthful had a lingering taste that was indescribable. Skillful. The texture of the sea urchin and jellyfish is very nice, making it easy to eat. Considering the ingredients, I felt that the value for money was even better than last time. Thank you for the meal.

Delicious taste, generous portion, great value for money. Especially loved the pufferfish milt soup♪ The vegetables were cooked perfectly and you can eat as much as you want. The fried rice portion can be chosen from small, regular, or large, depending on your appetite. We opted for the drink pairing this time, and the pairing fee was reasonable. The staff were always friendly and welcoming with a smile. We had a pleasant dining experience from start to finish. Definitely want to visit again.
