I had a hard time visiting this restaurant because it opens at 12 o'clock. Due to work, I usually go to places that open at 11:30. I arrived around 11:50, and they kindly opened the door for me. Thank you. The regular lunch sets range from 1600 yen to 2000 yen. On this day, I chose the pasta with tomato-based seafood sauce in a large portion, and for my drink, I had hot herbal tea. Both the large portion and the drink cost an additional 300 yen each. The appetizer had a refined taste, and the large portion of pasta was satisfying. The bottled water was a nice touch. The seafood in the pasta had a rich flavor, and the garlic added a nice Italian touch.

Every time I visit Naka-Kawara Station on the Keio Line, I feel like trying out this Italian restaurant, Flora. It's like a flower basket filled with delicate wildflowers. The stairs are steep... Today, my wife and I had lunch together. We ordered Set A, which included today's lunch pasta special, "Friuli-style tender beef cheek and pork goulash with organic vegetables and bruschetta," and a dish with a long name, "Organic vegetable 4-cheese risotto." The appetizers included chicken white liver paste, sourdough craft with purple cabbage from Yamagata, and marinated Toyama firefly squid - all meticulously prepared. The main dish with the long name seemed like a stew with various ingredients that I couldn't identify. Friuli is a region in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia autonomous region in the western part of Italy. I wonder what "Friuli-style" means? Goulash is a beef soup, stew, or braised dish from Hungary, Austria, and the central and southern regions of Germany. It seems to be a dish from the regions bordering Friuli. The dish was filled with lots of vegetables and cooked until tender. It was intriguing and delicious. The risotto was very rich and creamy. The cheese flavor was complex and delightful. It was a dish that made me want to come back for more. Thank you for the meal.

Flora is located on the 3rd floor of a mixed-use building a little way down from the Kamakura Kaido in the direction of the Tama River from Nakanokawara Station on the Keio Line. I've tried to go there several times but was turned away. When I called, they told me to check on Gurunavi's website to see if they were serving lunch and had availability. This time, I made a reservation and visited. The only other customers were familiar-looking women. We ordered two lunch sets with dessert, as well as two recommended pasta dishes. Don't forget the lunch beers! The appetizer platter was beautifully arranged with European vegetables from Yamagata, prosciutto, purple daikon, and marinated tomatoes. The balance was just right, with no overpowering fishiness. The pasta dishes were cherry shrimp with tomato sauce and mozzarella cream. The former had a fragrant cherry shrimp flavor that delighted my shrimp-loving wife. The cream pasta was a cheese lover's dream, with a rich mix of Treviso tardivo, Castelfranco, and Chiama di rapa from Yamagata. The fettuccine was coated in a creamy, rich cheese sauce that was truly Italian. We finished with dessert and coffee. Thank you for the meal. Lunch can be enjoyed for less than 2,000 yen, which is not cheap but the quality is outstanding. For dinner, ordering a course is more reasonable than a la carte. They also have a great selection of Italian wines. It may be a bit pricey, but it's worth it. The owner and chef, Mr. Tanemura, is friendly and open to discussing options, so it might be a good idea to consult with him before visiting.

The Gorgonzola cheese fresh pasta and garlic oil pasta were delicious and chewy! The salad was also great with an organic vegetable plate. The location was a bit hard to find, but it's on the third floor of a building. It was a lovely day! ( ◜ᴗ◝)

At my mother's birthday party, they prepared a special vegetarian course for us! The first dish was an assortment of organic vegetables including Okinawan green beans, purple watercress, winter melon, and organic beans with a carrot dressing that was delicious! The second dish was oven-baked sea tomato with porcini mushrooms, potatoes, and Italian lentils inside, it was tasty! The third dish was grilled vegetables including mushrooms, zucchini, and black olives with a caper sauce. The fourth dish was a steak made from Chiba-grown Toro eggplant, which was very flavorful and filling. The fifth dish was Genovese pasta. For dessert, coffee and glass of wine were served, and I ended up trying the recommended rosé, white, and red wines from the menu board. I don't usually like sweet wines, but the refreshing rosé was delicious! Both my mother and I were extremely satisfied and will definitely visit again!

On my way home, I was thinking about what to eat at Nakagawara Station and decided to check a blog. I chose Flora. After receiving an explanation from the owner, I enjoyed a slightly sparkling red wine. The faint fizziness is pleasant. I had white liver pate with warm vegetables and herb-grilled fish. I had a delicious and enjoyable time again tonight.

A photo of delicious red wine on a blog caught my eye, so I decided to go there tonight. The owner kindly explained the red wine to me, a French Saint-Come (Grenache). For starters, I had crostini and prosciutto, and for the main course, I had herb-roasted sea bream with white wine. I also enjoyed Iberico pork and lamb in a Cacciatore-style sauce. It was a delicious and enjoyable time spent there.

I attended my mother's birthday lunch party as I couldn't make it in the evening. Today's meal was the Chef's special lunch course (3,700 yen). We started with a delicious soup made with beans and vegetables, but I forgot to take a picture of it! We also enjoyed some wine during the day, and once again, the meal was delicious. Thank you for the feast.

I visited this restaurant in Seiseki Sakuragaoka for work, recommended by a colleague. I made it just in time for the last order at 14:10 and ordered the Shizuoka shirasu pasta set for 1000 yen. It came with a salad, 3 slices of bread, and a satisfying portion of pasta with a proper Italian pasta taste. My colleague had recommended the carbonara in a large serving, but since only cold pasta was available, I opted for something from the lunch menu. The staff, who seemed to be a couple, were friendly, and this is the kind of place that would become a regular spot if it were in my local area.

(Dinner) For a birthday celebration, my husband made a reservation for us to enjoy the special dinner course. The menu included: Antipasto misto, Handmade tagliatelle with tuna bottarga and clams, Black wagyu oxtail meat feggioloni pasta, Kijihata and long shrimp with porcini mushroom sauce, Black wagyu and foie gras sautéed Rossini style, Bread, Focaccia, Assorted desserts, Coffee. We had a variety of appetizers and enjoyed dishes like Maté clams, which had a unique appearance but were delicious. The course included two pasta dishes (fish, meat) and two main dishes (fish, meat), with each dish made with care and attention to detail. It was a satisfying experience. I wish birthdays came around once a month... Thank you for the wonderful meal. (Lunch) I visited for lunch and chose the Pasta Lunch C (1500 yen), which included: Appetizers, Focaccia, Anchovy-flavored vegetable pasta, Coffee, and Dessert. The appetizers included a fish carpaccio salad, marinated eggplant, fish with breadcrumbs, and liver paste bruschetta, all made with care and delicious. The pasta was a flavorful aglio e olio with zucchini, cabbage, and turnips. The dessert was a chestnut-flavored pudding with a hint of liqueur. The meal was satisfying, and I enjoyed every bite. Thank you for the delicious food. Overall, I love visiting this restaurant for special occasions like birthdays. The food is always delicious, and the chef and his wife provide excellent service. Despite the distance from my home, I wish I could visit every month. My husband even wishes there was a location closer to us. I have brought friends here, and they have all been delighted. We will definitely visit again.

I visited an Italian restaurant near Nakagawara on the Keio Line and was impressed by the deliciousness of their full-throttle lunch. Today, I went for dinner. I couldn't decide between a course or à la carte, but with the advice of the owner, I chose à la carte. For starters, I had a platter of six antipasti and Lucian-style simmered octopus from Awaji Island. For pasta, I had rigatoni with porcini mushroom sauce and fettuccine with spear squid and broccoli. The texture and smoothness of the handmade fettuccine were exquisite. I also ordered a pizza with gorgonzola, which was delicious as expected. I highly recommend this place!

Today's lunch was at a nearby Italian restaurant that I visited for the first time! It was a bit intimidating to enter because it's in a mixed-use building, but surprisingly it had high ratings on Tabelog, so I mustered up the courage to go in (laughs). It's in the same building as the Thai restaurant I visited the other day. As you climb the stairs, you suddenly feel the Italian atmosphere! I chose the C set which includes appetizers, bread, pasta, dessert, and coffee, with handmade pasta for an additional 100 yen. For the pasta, I chose the one with Pecorino cheese, Oyama chicken, and porcini mushroom sauce. The appetizers included a salad, carpaccio, caponata, and a little bit of each. They also served focaccia bread, which was delicious, and when I tried to order more but found out it was extra, the chef brought out baguette for me instead! Both were warm and delicious, which increased my favorability towards the place. The main dish had a generous portion and was very tasty! For dessert, I chose the Catalan cream, and for coffee, I had chamomile tea. The Catalan cream here was more like a crème brûlée, not frozen. Since I hadn't eaten breakfast, I felt like I was having a brunch and ate to my heart's content. Thank you for the delicious meal!

After leaving Nakagawara Station and walking a little along the main street to the left, you will find FLORA, a wine and Italian cuisine restaurant, on the 3rd floor of the Nakagawara Building. On the 1st floor of the same building, there is a Thai restaurant called Sui Tai. There used to be a lunch sign on the roadside, but it was not there on this day. I wondered if they were closed, but when I went up to the 3rd floor by stairs, the sign was lit up. Upon opening the door, you will see the kitchen in front. The restaurant is run by a young master and a mother. On the left side after entering, there is a small room, and on the right side, there are about 6 counter seats and 12 table seats. It was almost full, with a group of young women in the left room and about 12 ladies chatting at the table seats on the right. At the counter, there was a man dining alone and myself. The lunch menu includes options for 1000 yen (A), 1250 yen (B with coffee), and 1500 yen (C with coffee and dessert). You can choose from 3 types of pasta. There was also a "recommended limited course: 2000 yen" available. I chose the pasta set of the day (A) for 1000 yen, which was "Aichi clams and spinach in tomato cream sauce." The first thing that came out was an appetizer and 2 slices of bread. The appetizer consisted of salad and a side dish, including potatoes, eggplant, pancetta, and more. The paste on the snow peas next to the salad had a delicious crustacean aroma. The Aichi clams and spinach in tomato cream sauce had a generous portion. Even just the pasta itself had a lot of filling. The thin pasta mixed well with the rich tomato cream sauce and was delicious. This is a must-visit Italian restaurant in Nakagawara.

[February 2012, 5th visit] It's been a while since I visited Flora, and I ordered the usual 2000 yen lunch set. - Assorted appetizers - Always delicious, the liver paste is the best. I felt like having a drink, so I also ordered wine. - Homemade bread (focaccia) - Chewy and addictive! It's been a while, so I ended up eating a lot! I want to eat it again tomorrow (laughs). - Pasta - Sea urchin tomato cream (500 yen) with garlic, not too rich, just the right seasoning for me. The taste that suits me perfectly. It's wonderful that it's always delicious whenever I come. - Dessert - Strawberry cake A cake with sponge soaked in rum, topped with whipped cream and strawberries. The rum flavor is quite strong and delicious. [November 3, 2010 (Wednesday) 4th visit] The reason I started coming here was because my mother had visited before. The couple who runs the place always explains things carefully every time I visit. I love the taste of Flora. On this day, I visited with my sister. We made a reservation for 11:30 am and arrived at 12 pm. We were the first ones there, and then other ladies and foreigners started coming in. - Assorted appetizers (for 2 people) - 1600 yen The husband explained everything to us. Even though he was busy, I was impressed that he took the time to explain! There were 7 types of dishes: prosciutto, salad, eggplant in tomato sauce, amberjack carpaccio, shrimp in tomato sauce, duck and liver on French bread. I love appetizers, so I was very satisfied with this assortment! The flavors were rich and paired well with wine. The salad was made with freshly picked organic vegetables. - Spaghetti lunch (with salad, bread, and drink) - 1350 yen This spaghetti was the best I've ever had! I forgot the name, so please refer to the photo! It had melted cheese on top, and as time passed, it became creamy and delicious. The seasoning seemed to be made with simmered ingredients, which added to the flavor. The homemade bread also had a unique taste. After eating it, I felt like I was experiencing the taste of Flora! However, I worry that if more people discover this, it might become harder to get a reservation, but at the same time, I don't want the number of customers to decrease. It's a delicate balance, but I will continue to visit!

I think this place is quite underrated. The reason is because it is located in this building. It's a somewhat old-fashioned red brick-tiled mixed-use building. The restaurant is located there. At the entrance, it looks like a Thai restaurant? It has a very authentic feel to it... There are various bars on the basement and second floor. It may be a bit hard to find even if you know it's there... However, once you reach the third floor, you'll see a large, impressive painting on the left wall, and the interior is really nicely done. There's a big contrast. From the chef's appearance, I thought they might serve more masculine dishes, but they are actually quite delicate. The tomato sauce is light and delicious. The pasta with sakura shrimp is spicy and has a great balance with the garlic flavor. The pasta with tomato and mozzarella cheese is even more delicate. The basil stands out and it was quite to my liking. It's a refreshing dish. The appetizers have a lot of vegetables, which is nice. I love meat, so the pate was delicious. I wish I could eat about 5 times more. My wife had a course menu for around 2000 yen, and I had the 1000 yen pasta lunch. The dessert is homemade too! Is it made by the wife? It must be her homemade dessert. Maybe the chef made it too? The classic chocolate dessert with milk sherbet was recommended, so my wife tried that. The chocolate was rich and really good. I just wish they would put more milk sherbet and less cake. My Nagano apple cattanata was also delicious. I thought it was frozen, but it was refrigerated. I didn't know there were cattanatas like this too. The apple was great. The crispy surface was tasty and I finished it in no time. There are a few good restaurants in Sakuragaoka, Bunbukawa, and Fuchu areas, but I think this place in Nakagawara is a rare gem. There was a review mentioning the son coming back home... It seems like a perfect place for families to visit together. They might celebrate birthdays together. They have a good selection of wines, so I'm thinking of visiting at night next time. I'm really satisfied.

Flora is an Italian restaurant located two stations away from Fuchu on the Keio Line in Nakagawara. It is a bit hard to find, located on the third floor of a mixed-use building. Despite its unassuming appearance, the food served here is delicious. The pasta dishes are a favorite among customers, especially the spaghetti. The restaurant also offers a variety of other dishes like pizza, tripe, and seafood. The atmosphere is casual, perfect for enjoying a meal with friends. The desserts are also a must-try, with options like chocolate cake and caramel ice cream. Overall, Flora is a great restaurant with consistently delicious food that keeps customers coming back for more.

After finishing work on March 9th, I went to a restaurant with a coworker. I had previously recommended a Tuscan red wine on my blog, so we decided to try it. My coworker doesn't drink much, but they said the red wine was delicious. For dinner, we ordered a platter of appetizers, including liver pate. For the main course, we tried the Matsusaka pork that I had been curious about. It was tender and juicy, very delicious. We also enjoyed meat dishes, pizza, dessert, and after-dinner drinks. It was a fun and enjoyable evening.

In the vicinity of Nakagawara Station, this is the only Italian restaurant. For lunch, they offer three sets: A - appetizer, bread, pasta for 1000 yen, B - appetizer, bread, pasta, coffee for 1200 yen, C - appetizer, bread, pasta, dessert, coffee for 1500 yen. I ordered the upgraded version of the C set for 2000 yen. I arrived at 11:45 am with no other customers. The appetizer included four varieties, but one was unclear. The bread was good, and the pasta was decent. The dessert was disappointing, a dry chocolate cake. They offered herbal tea, which was a nice touch. The price of 1500 yen for the C set may be a bit high. Overall, I feel that Lampione in Fuchuhommachi offers better value for money. I am unsure if I will revisit this place.

This is a hidden gem. The exterior of the building doesn't do it justice, but that's actually a good thing in my opinion. The food and service are fantastic, and if it looked nicer, it would probably get too crowded. It's run by a very friendly couple. I recommend getting the course menu for dinner. They time the dishes perfectly, from appetizers to dessert. They have a great selection of wines too. The delicious food makes the wine go down so smoothly, I always end up drinking too much. In my opinion, it's the best Italian restaurant in the Tama area.
