The Gate Hotel, which is now a part of the Hulic hotel chain, has expanded over the years, but as far as I know, this was the first location. Despite being open for a number of years, it still doesn't give off a dated impression. In terms of in-room dining options, there are two bottles of complimentary mineral water provided. Coffee options include a Nespresso machine and instant stick types. Tea bags for black and green tea are also available in the room. The mini-fridge is empty, but it has a good storage capacity due to its smooth interior.

Every time I go to Ginza Station on the Tokyo Metro, I see the familiar Hulic advertisement sign, "Oh, it's Hulic again." Hulic operates The Gate Hotel Ginza, which I always notice as I pass by. The first time I stayed at The Gate Hotel was in Asakusa during the national travel support period in the fall of 2022, with breakfast included for about 20,000 yen for 2 people. The strong impression of The Gate Hotel's gate logo mark sticks in my mind, and I can't help but think of Mon Hotel. If you stay at this hotel, be sure to visit the guest-only terrace on the 14th floor, accessible by climbing the stairs from the lobby on the 13th floor. It's a great experience, and although it's not available 24 hours, I heard it was empty if you go first thing in the morning. The hotel will be closed in February 2023, but there is also a guest-only bar. The stay was fully booked on the days I stayed, and it was fun to be able to order on the terrace. The breakfast at the 13th floor "R Restaurant & Bar" was delicious, with freshly squeezed orange juice and French toast. The terrace seating at the restaurant was also enjoyable. Although I didn't touch it, there was also Échiré butter with the Échiré mark. The view from the room and the view bath left me feeling a bit unsatisfied, but I had a lot of fun with the glass display on the bar counter-style table. The refrigerator was empty, so it looked like it would be fun to bring your own items. The bath amenities were the hotel's original, and you could enjoy the scent of tea. Thank you for taking care of me. It was a delicious meal.

I enjoyed dinner at the bar and breakfast on the terrace. The view of the Skytree was great and the location and food were both excellent. The Eggs Benedict and buffet honey and orange juice were especially delicious!

First Visit on Friday, 7:00 AM, Crowd Level: Moderate. The restaurant is located on the 13th floor lobby of Gate Hotel. The atmosphere is like a bar, with a slightly wider dining area towards the back. For breakfast, you can choose from Tartine, Eggs Benedict, or French Toast, along with Orange Juice, Salad, Bread, Fruit, Yogurt, Soup, and a drink. The food arrives quickly and is served efficiently. The Salad was simple with French dressing, the Orange Juice was freshly squeezed and sweet, the bread included walnut and raisin options, the Tartine was egg-based with delicious tartar sauce and bacon. Overall rating: A.

The food wasn't bad, but it was all things I could make myself. The atmosphere of the restaurant was a bit disappointing. I thought the view would be beautiful, but it wasn't that great. The best part was seeing the Skytree in the distance. I don't really feel like going back there again.笑

This is a hotel where I stayed as a base for sightseeing in Asakusa. It was very convenient to come back to the hotel to rest after sightseeing and then head out again. I had been curious about the breakfast for a while, so I couldn't wait for the morning to come (lol). Since it was still New Year's, there was a limited osechi menu, but we were late, so we chose from the regular menu. - Asakusa Tartine - Eggs Benedict - French Toast All of them were so tempting that it was hard to choose, but I chose my favorite Eggs Benedict. Before the main dish arrived, fresh orange juice, coffee, salad, yogurt, bread, and fruit were brought one after another, and the table space was running out (bitter smile). It felt like I was eating quickly, but the salad was crispy and quite delicious. They also serve generous amounts of Echire butter with the bread. I was pleasantly surprised to be served a warm soup with root vegetables that had been simmered slowly at the right time. Now, the long-awaited main dish. There were two types of Eggs Benedict on a small English muffin - smoked salmon and bacon. The eggs were quite creamy, so the Hollandaise sauce was surprisingly light and refreshing. The bacon seemed to be from the local Asakusa ham. The hash browns on the side were crispy and made me smile. Finally, I had fruits and yogurt to finish. It was a bit disappointing that the fruits seemed a bit lackluster, but I was able to charge up with energy in the morning, so I'm heading out for sightseeing again. This hotel apparently ranked first in the Tokyo hotel breakfast ranking on a certain website. Although I might have enjoyed a buffet more, I was satisfied enough with the seated style. Also, the terrace seats reserved for guests have a fantastic view, so I hope you can relax and enjoy it.

The weather was nice and there was a beautiful view. You can have a calm lunch away from the hustle and bustle of Asakusa. Despite the cold, there were customers sitting on the terrace with electric heaters at their feet. The menu lineup of salad, soup, bread, main dish, dessert, and coffee seemed a bit lacking, but by the time we finished eating, it was just right, so I didn't end up overeating like I usually do during the New Year's season. We shared a meat dish and a fish dish, and I preferred the meat dish. I visited for lunch, but I would like to try the menu from 14:00 onwards.

On a holiday morning, it was just before 9 am and there was a 10-15 minute wait. The main dishes you could choose from were "Eggs Benedict," "Asakusa Tartine," and "French Toast," all looking delicious in the photos, making it hard to decide. I chose the "Eggs Benedict" since hotel breakfasts usually involve eggs. My companion chose a different menu. As I thought the salad was being served, more items like yogurt, fruit, bread, and coffee kept coming to the table. There was no space left on the table, and I had to eat everything one by one to make room for the main dish. The table was a bit small, causing a bit of inconvenience. I wish they had paced the serving of dishes a bit better. The last dish was the Eggs Benedict. It was a bit chaotic due to the rushed operation, although the staff's service was excellent. I would have liked to have a more relaxed dining experience.

I made a reservation for a course with all-you-can-drink wine. Due to the pandemic, it had been difficult to get a reservation, so it was my first visit since last winter. Today, the temperature was just right for sitting on the terrace. The staff's thoughtful service, delicious food, and wonderful night view were all excellent. I will definitely visit again.

Don't underestimate the morning at a city hotel. I had the morning at The Gate Hotel Asakusa and enjoyed fluffy scrambled eggs and thick crispy bacon. The delicious bread was also all-you-can-eat, so I was very satisfied. I would love to come back for breakfast again. Thank you for the meal.

I enjoyed a meal and drinks on the terrace seats. I made a reservation at 20:00 the day before, and luckily got a reservation, probably because the weather forecast predicted rain. Located 3 minutes on foot from Asakusa Kaminarimon, on the top floor (13F) of a city hotel, the terrace seats offer a fantastic view of Asakusa's streets, Nakamise Street, the night view of the Shuto Expressway, Sumida River, and the flame of the Asahi Beer headquarters' torch. The terrace seats have glass in front for wind and cold protection. The menu can be read through a QR code, but there are also paper menus, and orders are placed with the staff, so the QR code may not be necessary. I chose the following dishes: Caesar salad, octopus basil carpaccio, Asakusa double ham smoked bacon grill, and beef stew - THE GATE style. The smoked bacon grill was especially delicious, with thick, tender bacon smoked to a crispy texture. The beef stew also came with bread and was enjoyable until the last bite. With delicious food, a stunning location, and flowing drinks, you can forget reality and have a relaxing time. I plan to visit again soon. Thank you for the meal.

The meal we had on the terrace seat with a view of the Skytree was lovely ❤️ I didn't take photos of the dishes because the terrace was dark. We ordered Aioli, Carpaccio, Asakusa ham, garlic toast, cheese assortment, and paella. The thick-cut Asakusa ham was particularly delicious today‼️ I was planning to order Wagyu beef for the main course, but I was satisfied with the ham haha. The paella usually comes in a shallow pan, but it came in a small earthenware pot, resembling a rice pot haha. For dessert, we had cheesecake, which was also incredibly delicious ✨

I visited the restaurant on Christmas Eve. I made a reservation through a major website and got a really good seat. I could see the Skytree light-up well. The wine was very delicious, and they even made a drink that was not on the menu. It made me feel a bit sad to see a young couple only drinking water, maybe they didn't have much money or were being frugal. Is it just the times we live in?

I went to the Morning, which won first place in the breakfast ranking in Tokyo. I arrived around 8:30 am because it's until 10 am, so make sure to wake up early♪ The restaurant was filled with customers who seemed to be leaving, maybe because most guests come in even earlier. We were the third group to enter. I ordered the Eggs Benedict as my main dish, which was delicious as always! The freshly squeezed orange juice was great too! And the honey was smooth and tasty without any strong taste♪ They also had Échiré butter placed on the table, so we could enjoy it generously♪ Although the variety was limited, the lineup was carefully selected, and for 2500 yen, it was actually quite reasonable... I had a great time!

I stayed at a hotel with a wonderful breakfast, so I wanted to share my experience. Breakfast is available from 6:30 am. When I was seated, they explained the main options right away. I ordered poached eggs. While waiting for the main dish, I enjoyed some salad, natural honey, and yogurt. The honey was amazing, especially when spread on bread with butter. Then the main dish arrived. It was delicious. I wish I could make eggs this beautifully at home. Maybe I should check out some recipes on Cookpad later. Overall, it was a great way to start the day.

I visited during lunchtime on a regular day! After passing through the famous Asakusa landmark "Kaminarimon", the entrance is located next to the supermarket "Oozeki"! I almost missed the entrance because Oozeki was so lively! Taking the elevator to the 13th floor, you are greeted by a spacious lobby with a great view of Asakusa! Despite being late due to train delays, the phone response and entrance service were very polite and kind! They offered both terrace and indoor table seating, and I chose the terrace seating! Despite the cloudy weather, you can still enjoy the view of Asakusa's sightseeing spots while dining! I started with a toast with a long beer glass reminiscent of the Skytree! The creamy foam made it very smooth to drink! As expected in Asakusa, I had an Asahi Super Dry beer! I had the salad "Shrimp, Anchovy, and Olive Salad with Sherry Vinegar Dressing", which had a delicious combination of olives, herbs, and a perfect acidity from the vinegar! The bread with olive oil was also tasty! For the main course, I had the option of "Hirata Farm Three-Element Pork with Watercress and Mushroom Salad with Palo Cortado Sauce", "Hamburg Steak with Poached Egg and Seasonal Vegetables with (Mankyu Miso-ten) Edo Sweet Miso Sauce", and "Today's Fresh Fish Braise with Aichi Lemon Burnt Butter Sauce, Semi-Dried Tomato, and Verbena Aroma"! Since there were two of us, we chose the "Hamburg Steak with Poached Egg and Seasonal Vegetables (Mankyu Miso Sauce) Edo Sweet Miso Sauce" and "Today's Fresh Fish Braise with Aichi Lemon Burnt Butter Sauce, Semi-Dried Tomato, and Verbena Aroma"! The juicy and flavorful hamburger steak with a mild blend of spices and the Edo sweet miso sauce was very satisfying! The poached egg added a creamy touch! The fresh fish was salmon, thick yet tender, and the lemon acidity and burnt butter depth made it very delicious! I didn't want to leave any sauce behind, even using the bread to savor it! The dessert was beautifully presented with a personalized message, and I was very satisfied! The photo is mine! You can choose coffee or tea for the final touch! Overall, it was a very satisfying lunch experience!

I stayed at The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon in May 2019. After reading MyRebi's review, I decided to book this hotel when I knew I was going to Tokyo. The lobby is on the 13th floor. When you get off the elevator, you are greeted by a fantastic view of the Skytree. There is a restaurant and bar called "R Restaurant & Bar" on the same floor, where I had breakfast the next day. Behind the "Registered Guests Only" sign on the lobby floor, there are stairs leading to a guest-only bar called "B Bar" and a terrace. Even though the bar was not open when I checked in, the terrace offered discounted beer at that time. I enjoyed a beer on the terrace, where the Skytree felt even closer. After dinner, I returned to the terrace. The Skytree was illuminated in rainbow colors to celebrate its 7th anniversary, creating a beautiful sight. Later, I had beer and snacks at the "B Bar" (detailed review posted separately). The next morning, I had breakfast at "R Restaurant & Bar." I arrived at the lobby floor a little before breakfast time and admired the morning view of the Skytree and Sensoji Temple before heading to the restaurant. For breakfast, I chose between "Egg Benedict," "French Toast," and "Original Curry Benedict," and helped myself to salad and drinks from the buffet corner. I ordered the French Toast and Egg Benedict. The French Toast was soaked in egg with cinnamon butter and topped with plenty of maple syrup. It was filled with smoked bacon from Asakusa Ham. The Egg Benedict had salmon and bacon on an English muffin, also very filling. Each table had Ereshi butter, a nice touch. The buffet corner featured an organic vegetable station, homemade marmalade, and special honey. The penne in tomato sauce was unexpectedly delicious. The orange juice was freshly squeezed by the staff. Although the variety was not extensive, each dish was satisfying. The staff were all friendly, making my stay pleasant. This day happened to be the Mikoshi parade of the Sanja Matsuri festival. After breakfast, I went to Sensoji Temple to see the procession. The atmosphere was solemn and powerful as the mikoshi began its journey. The passion and energy of the locals involved in the festival and the mikoshi were overwhelming. I was grateful to unexpectedly encounter the festival during my visit to Tokyo for another purpose.

During the first 10 days of the Golden Week holiday from Heisei to Reiwa, I stayed in Suwa and Matsumoto for 2 nights and 3 days. The second half of the holiday was spent in Asakusa for 3 nights and 4 days. The view from the 13th floor of the hotel in Asakusa was stunning, and I would love to stay there again. The lobby had traditional Japanese sweets for Children's Day, and a single iris flower in the room added a nice touch. The hotel's location was convenient, surrounded by the bustling streets of Asakusa. The hotel had a private terrace for guests, and the 24-hour restaurant was a great bonus. The staff were friendly and attentive. Although I made a mistake in choosing the room in Matsumoto, I still enjoyed the 24-hour restaurant and the comfortable gauze pajamas provided. I was looking forward to the jazz live performance at the restaurant on Friday and Saturday, only to realize that I had lost track of the days and missed it. The review ends with a mention of the start of the new Reiwa era in Japan.

<This is a review while the comments section is closed> This is a revisit. For more details, please refer to my previous review. Also, Gate Hotel hosts a stargazing event every full moon on the rooftop. During the event, I enjoyed hot wine. I also had an afternoon tea, of course, during this visit as well.

Overall rating: A hotel developed by the real estate developer Hulic with the theme of "a building close to the station and the future" located just across from the landmark Kaminarimon in Asakusa. As the slogan suggests, it is modern and cool, and conveniently close to the station. It offers a different, contemporary vibe compared to traditional hotels, making the stay enjoyable. The view from the lobby and lounge is also great, allowing guests to relax and enjoy their time. Satisfaction: ★★★★☆, Relaxation: ★★★☆☆, Guest-only bar: ★★★★☆, Amenity satisfaction: ★☆☆☆☆, Room satisfaction: ★★★☆☆, Customer service satisfaction: ★★★☆☆, Bath satisfaction: ★★★☆☆, Likelihood to revisit: ★★★★☆ [Tweets] - Most guests seem to be foreigners, possibly due to the location. - The view from the lobby is stunning, and the 14th-floor observatory floor is impressive. - The bar on the 14th floor is exclusive to guests, providing a calm atmosphere. - Breakfast time tends to be crowded. - Opt for a room with a bathtub for a more spacious experience. - The room includes two bottles of mineral water. - No cosmetics amenities provided. - Separate top and bottom pajamas are available, which is nice. - Green tea, black tea tea bags, and Nespresso are provided. - Wi-Fi connection was smooth.
