I used it for a drinking party. It's an izakaya located about a 2-minute walk from Okachimachi Station. The restaurant has table seats and counter seats. The seating is a bit cramped and the aisle is narrow, but the atmosphere is nice. Smoking is allowed at the table. It was quite cold that day, so we ordered oden as the main dish. The appetizer was kinpira burdock. It was a small portion size, just right. Of course, we cheers with draft beer! The draft beer was Asahi Super Dry. The glass was well chilled and the beer was delicious. For oden, we ordered daikon radish, chikuwa, cabbage roll, sausage, and konjac this time. Each oden had a light yet flavorful kombu broth that was excellent! Oden starts from around 150 yen, and the variety is quite rich. Among the various odens, the daikon radish, chikuwa, and cabbage roll that we ordered this time were so delicious that we ended up ordering more. We were also interested in yakitori, so we tried negima. The meat was large and had a firm texture with a fragrant char. The sweet and salty sauce was to my liking and delicious! After enjoying eating and drinking for about an hour, we left. When we saw the bill, it was surprisingly less than 2500 yen per person, so the cost performance was quite good! Satisfied! Thank you for the meal!

The sun was still high in the sky, so not every restaurant was open yet. This particular restaurant seemed to be open for lunch on weekends, so I decided to stop by. I sat at the counter and ordered the following:
- The appetizers were okra and sea chicken.
- I ordered a combination of four types of oden: thick tofu, konjac, chikuwa, and daikon. It came with Japanese mustard on the side. The daikon was quite large, but the texture was a bit tough.
- I changed my order to grilled dishes and started with three skewers: pork neck, pork diaphragm, and mini tomato wrapped in meat. They were all delicious, especially the pork neck which was crispy on the outside.
- I added three more grilled dishes: green pepper, pork heart, and a dish called "aorta," which I tried with sauce as recommended.
- The owner was in charge of grilling and did a great job with the dishes.
- I also ordered grilled pork tongue, which was a must-try.
- I was served a dish called "raw kimchi," which was a large portion of fresh vegetables with lemon sour.
- I tried Suntory's special bar sake and a Shizuoka sour recommended on the menu.
- I also had a plum sour and another regular chu-hai.
- In total, I had four drinks and the bill came to just over 4,000 yen.
Overall, it was a good restaurant. Although I only ordered grilled pork this time, I think it would be fun to try their grilled chicken next time. This branch in Ueno seems to be the only one in Tokyo, but the company also operates other branches in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, Sapporo, and Hiroshima.

I had some errands near Mizukaido-bashi and on my way back, I felt like having some oden. I decided to try this restaurant and I was not disappointed. The oden was big and delicious, meeting my expectations. The prices were reasonable and I would definitely like to come back again.

The all-you-can-drink option is available, and when you press the call button, the staff comes right away. They are not just sitting around with nothing to do. The Vietnamese female staff members are friendly and efficient in their service. Overall, it's a great impression. The food is average, but the excellent service makes up for it.

The second place for drinks in Ameyoko was Ochan! My friend said they wanted to eat oden (it's cold outside), so we looked for an oden restaurant and Ochan looked good based on reviews and photos, so we went there! First, we had oden and negima (grilled chicken and green onion skewers)! I got a free beer for signing up for LINE, which was so nice! And to finish, we had grilled rice balls! Ah, everything I love in one place, it was the best. The daikon radish in the oden was so delicious. The daikon soaked up the broth and was so tender and juicy! The other ingredients were also amazing. The broth was incredibly tasty and it just spread throughout my body. The negima was fragrant and the sauce was delicious. This is what you call charcoal grilling. If I was hungry, I would eat so much of this. We sat at the counter this time, and being able to see them preparing the food right in front of us made us even hungrier. This place is highly recommended, I would definitely go back if I'm in Ueno!

Drinks in Ueno! There is a place called "Ochan" ✨ where on weekends and holidays, you can have unlimited highballs for only 100 yen each! And they are proper pint-sized highballs ✨ I couldn't believe how cheap it was, so I had 2 drinks. 2 drinks for 200 yen... that's too cheap ✨✨ For snacks, we ordered a variety of oden, a box of tuna sashimi, and ham cutlet. The box of tuna sashimi had a generous amount of chopped tuna and negitoro for 560 yen ✨ Of course, everything was delicious and had great value. The oden and ham cutlet were both incredibly tasty ✨ I was also tempted by the yakitori, but I wanted to go to another place for the third round, so I stopped at this point. I'm glad I found such a great place! #SakeDrinkingGirls #SakeDrinker #WantToConnectWithPeopleWhoLoveAlcohol #GirlsWhoLoveAlcohol #BarHopping #BarHoppingDrinks #UenoIzakaya #UenoDrinks #UenoGourmet #OchanIzakaya #OchanUeno #OchanUenoBranch

On June 18th, on my first visit to this restaurant, I usually arrive around 3-4 pm on Saturdays, which is just in time for the happy hour. I had planned to stroll around Ameyoko after getting off at Naka-Okachimachi station on the Hibiya Line, but I was drawn in by the eye-catching illuminated signs advertising oden and yakitori. I ended up entering the restaurant impulsively. I requested a seat at the counter since I was dining alone, but the way it was communicated to me was not very polite. The customer sitting at the counter seemed a bit rough, but I realized I might be of the same type. The quality of customers is not the fault of the restaurant, though. Here's what I ordered: - Hoppy set x1 - Medium-sized draft beers x3 - Oden (thick fried tofu, daikon radish, konjac, egg) - Chicken garlic karaage (small) - Otoshi (appetizer) Total: 2,401 yen (paid by card) The oden had a strong broth similar to Shozo-ka style, with fish powder sprinkled on top. All the flavors were well-balanced and delicious. The chicken garlic karaage was made with thigh meat, cut into easy-to-eat pieces, and fried. The sauce was a sweet garlic flavor, and despite being a small portion, it was surprisingly satisfying and addictive. The initial impression from entering the restaurant was a bit off... and that's important, isn't it?

Charcoal-grilled Chicken Bowl for 680 yen (tax included) with miso soup and pickles. During a weekday lunchtime, I was wandering around and suddenly came across a menu board that looked familiar. Wait, isn't this the same as Tokuchan's menu? After checking later, I found out that both restaurants are operated by the same company. When they first started serving lunch, they only had two menu options, but now you can also get a San-kyu cold noodles for 390 yen here. However, I have visited this place a couple of times and each time I had the Charcoal-grilled Chicken Bowl, which is not available at Tokuchan. That's why I come here specifically for this dish. This time, I ordered the Charcoal-grilled Chicken Bowl with less rice and no pickled ginger. It's my third time having it, and for this price, the portion is quite satisfying. However, when dining alone, you may be seated at the L-shaped counter on the first floor where people pass by behind you, making it a bit uncomfortable. The counter itself is narrow and lacks depth. Also, this time there was a slight mistake in the presentation. Furthermore, the miso soup portion was only half of a regular bowl. Isn't that a bit too little? Despite these minor issues, if I ever crave the Charcoal-grilled Chicken Bowl again, I will definitely come back here.

A recommended option is the 2-hour all-you-can-drink special with 6 dishes available for ordering without a reservation, starting from one person. The menu includes small plates, Kujou Negi salad, horse meat sashimi, garlic fried chicken, and black oden. The drink options include beer (Super Dry) and Yaezakura sake, making it a great value for a 2-hour all-you-can-drink deal. You can also extend the drinking time for an additional fee of 500 yen per hour. For 3000 yen, you can opt for a 3-hour all-you-can-drink course. Smoking is allowed on the second floor, which may be convenient for smokers. The first floor is more suitable for solo drinkers, while the second floor is better for enjoying drinks with friends or colleagues.

I visited the restaurant after seeing a sign on the street. The braised pork rice bowl was priced at 780 yen, which is a bit expensive for a pub lunch. The grilled chicken bowl was 680 yen, so not bad. Since I was dining alone, I sat at the counter. I wondered if it would take a long time, but the food was heated in a frying pan and served on top of rice. There was no braised pork or ground meat as advertised. However, the dish was tasty, although the spiciness was a bit weak. It would be best if it was around 700 yen, but overall I didn't have any major complaints.

The drink menu at this establishment is on the pricey side for a casual bar. Draft beer is 580 yen and sours are 480 yen. Both the drinks and food are a bit expensive for a casual bar, and the taste is below average. Also, the menu displayed on the wall is just for show, so be aware that some items may not actually be available. That's all.

Charcoal-grilled Yakitori Donburi for 650 yen (tax included) with miso soup and pickles included. After reading a review from a reference reviewer, I decided to give it a try for my first visit. The reviewer mentioned there were two lunch options, but when I arrived, there didn't seem to be any lunch menu displayed. I walked past the restaurant and found a standing signboard at the corner of Kasuga Street, which made me wonder if they were still serving lunch. I went back and confirmed with the staff that they were indeed serving lunch. I sat at the counter in front of the kitchen on the first floor. The counter felt a bit cramped with limited depth. There were many lunch menus displayed on the table. As I was about to sit down, they brought me water and a cloth towel, so I ordered while standing. I requested a smaller portion of rice. They grilled the food over charcoal after I placed my order. The enticing aroma made my appetite grow. They carefully grilled the food and served it to me. I apologized for the regular amount of rice, as it seemed there was a miscommunication with the kitchen staff. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the freshly grilled yakitori with egg yolk. The vegetables, such as shishito peppers and leeks, were a delightful addition. I personally didn't care for the pickled ginger. The miso soup had a slightly light broth and contained daikon radish and leeks. The generous portion of pickles was a nice touch. Despite the rice being a bit much for me, I managed to finish it all. The sauce was just right, not too sweet, spicy, or strong. However, I felt quite thirsty after returning to the office, possibly due to the salt content. Another minor issue was the chopsticks, which were thin and made it a bit difficult to eat. Overall, I was very satisfied with the quality and quantity for the price. I've decided that this will be my go-to lunch option. On cold days, the hot pot motsu-ni set meal seems like a great choice. Looking forward to it!

The rain outside was unusually strong, so I didn't feel like going far. I found a new restaurant on a street I don't usually pass by, and decided to try it out as they seemed to be serving lunch. I entered at 12:41 PM, with 5 customers on the first floor and no customers behind. There were also seats on the second floor, and a few customers who had finished their meals were leaving. The lunch menu had 2 options:
- Charcoal-grilled chicken bowl for 650 yen
- Hot pot tripe stew set meal for 650 yen
I decided to go with the tripe stew set meal without hesitation. The order arrived in about 6 minutes. The ingredients included tripe, tofu, carrots, daikon radish, burdock root, konjac, and green onions. The hot pot was bubbling hot, and the portion of rice seemed light but was just right for someone with a small appetite. The hot pot was filled with plenty of ingredients, including about half a block of tofu, and it was quite filling. I finished by putting the leftover tripe stew on the rice and making a bowl out of it. It was delicious!

I visited once before and it was very reasonable, so when I saw the course this time, it was only 2500 yen including tax, with all-you-can-eat and drink for 2 hours! I made a reservation right away, the amount of food was decent, and I was able to drink plenty for 2 hours. I will definitely visit again!

I wanted to drink from noon and searched under the Ueno Guard. I entered Ochan that caught my eye! Open from 12 o'clock, a bit late. Reasonable prices and quite good food, perfect for a casual daytime drink. There are still more menu items I want to try, so I will visit again. Thank you for the meal.

During a business trip to Tokyo, I had a sudden craving for oden and decided to go to "Kobayashi" but unfortunately it was full and I couldn't get in! Determined to have oden no matter what, I found a popular pub within 300m of "Kobayashi" and decided to go in. It wasn't my usual type of place to visit, but it felt like fate! The sign outside the pub had a real down-to-earth vibe that I liked. I went inside and ordered oden (black hanpen, egg, daikon, tendon) as the main dish. The ingredients in the broth were delicious and satisfying! With my oden craving satisfied, I also ordered motsu (heart, brain, tongue), smoked herring cream cheese, and ginger gyoza. I had some sake "Ozeki" to drink. The ginger gyoza was described as a specialty from Osaka, which I found intriguing as I had never heard of it in Kansai before. It was an interesting experience but not my favorite. Normally, I would order a carb dish as a closer but I was too full. Instead, I had pickled nagaimo (long yam) as a side dish with a cup of sake before leaving the restaurant.

The dumplings, Kujou negi salad, and daikon in oden are all delicious. I have been back many times and I am always satisfied! I have unofficially dubbed it a great restaurant in Okachimachi (laughs). It's not really a famous restaurant, just a regular one, so it's not crowded and a hidden gem.

On my day off, I went to Ueno to buy ingredients and decided to have a drink. I sat at the counter and ordered a set of white hoppy for 440 yen, and a small serving of naka for 165 yen. The appetizer was nametake mushrooms and grated daikon for 360 yen. The menu included skewers, oden, and sashimi. I ordered umesuisho for 418 yen, harami skewer for 176 yen, tsukune skewer for 199 yen, and momo with sansho sauce skewer for 165 yen. The skewers were small but delicious with rich sauce. It seemed more suitable for snacking rather than having a full meal.

The shop is located under the elevated railway tracks near JR Okachimachi Station. The skewers are generally delicious, and the potatoes are seasoned just right. The assorted pickles and vegetable dishes like cucumbers have safe flavors. However, the sashimi dishes tend to come out slowly when ordered. It's a good place for a casual drink. Be cautious of the steam coming from the left side of the first floor, possibly due to the nearby grill!

The taste is delicious. I especially liked the xiaolongbao. The way they pour beer is bad, it was half foam. The staff is not on the floor. Even when I ring the bell, they don't come. My order was often not processed. The food is generally served slowly, sometimes very slowly.

There is nothing special about Odenya. The fact that it is located near the entrance makes it cold every time the door is opened by the staff. The bad appetizer is annoying.
