An organic restaurant often used for takeout. They serve shaved ice made with additive-free pasture milk that they carefully selected. The fully ripe organic strawberry, Uji matcha with red bean, and natural salted caramel are all delicious options. My favorite was the Uji matcha with red bean! It comes with organic persimmon leaf tea.

I visited the area around the Meguro district where I used to live before the pandemic, and went to Midorie, a restaurant I had been wanting to visit. Midorie, which means "blessings of green," opened in 2001 and offers organic, additive-free dishes made by a chef well-versed in organic ingredients. The lunch set, called MIDORIE Whole Bamboo Basket Lunch, costs ¥2380 and includes a choice of main dishes such as Vegan Main, Seafood and Turnip Couscous, Early Summer Vegetable Ratatouille, Free-range Egg Omelette, Simmered Hijiki and Dried Daikon, Fermented Onion and Burdock Salad, Organic Pickled Plum, Vegan Additive-free Miso Soup, and Organic Persimmon Tea with plenty of vitamin C. The lunch was served in a bamboo basket with a variety of rice options available, and I enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the restaurant. The place was filled with customers, including some foreigners, and it was clear that it is loved by the locals. I always come to this restaurant when I visit Gakushuin University. The food here is amazing, with no sense of the usual lack of satisfaction that can come with organic food. Even someone like me can enjoy a delicious meal and leave feeling full. The interior is lovely and relaxing. I always choose the Select Deli Lunch with 4 items. The rice selection includes black rice, brown rice, and sprouted rice. Each dish is delicious and satisfying, with generous portions. I left feeling very full. Thank you for the meal! The restaurant is located about a 3-minute walk from Odaiba Station. It is an organic shop with a menu that uses ingredients that are good for the body. I visited at 7:50 pm on a weekday and there were 3 groups of customers ahead of me. Since the closing time is 8:30 pm, it was just in time for the last order. The bright interior with white walls and wooden tables decorated with plants was stylish. I ordered the *Green Blessing Buddha Bowl for 1560 yen (tax included). A quarter of the plate was salad, and it also included brown rice, chickpea curry sauce, carrot marinade, couscous, steamed sweet potatoes, and more. There were many items and I got plenty of vegetables. The seasoning was delicious and I was very satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the organic restaurant & deli Midorie at Gakugei University. I have been to this restaurant for lunch a few times before, but I had never tried their sweets, so I was curious about them. The restaurant focuses on using organic, pesticide-free vegetables, seasonal fish, and free-range chicken in their dishes. You can dine in at the restaurant or purchase deli items for takeout. They have recently started offering shaved ice as a limited-time menu, with flavors like natural salted caramel and Uji matcha with red bean. I tried the salted caramel and matcha red bean shaved ice. The caramel flavor had two variations: cream caramel and bittersweet caramel sauce. Inside the ice, there were organic sweet potato cream, pasture milk espuma, and organic walnuts. It also included natural salt from England, adding a nice touch of saltiness to the caramel flavor. The Uji matcha shaved ice was made with abundant use of rare organic matcha, with organic matcha pudding, organic red beans, and thick matcha syrup inside the ice. It also had pasture milk espuma. The refreshing aroma of matcha and the rich matcha flavor made it a delightful shaved ice experience.

It's April 2022, and we had lunch at a restaurant near Gakugeidaigaku Station. It was a place we found while walking along the bus street. The restaurant had a showcase of side dishes at the entrance, with counter seats along the wall and table seats in the back. Despite being a weekday, there were quite a few customers. We decided on the lunch set where you can choose the type and number of side dishes. I chose the "Selectable Organic Deli Set" where you can choose 5 side dishes. The set came with a combination of white rice, brown rice, and black rice. When the meal arrived, I was surprised by the portion size of the 5 side dishes, which seemed quite substantial. The main deli dishes included mustard breadcrumbs grilled salmon and carfu and organic vegetable champuru. The champuru with carfu had a satisfying meaty texture despite not containing meat. The salad deli included eggplant and thick fried tofu with walnut miso dressing, seafood and new onion couscous French marinade, and avocado, kale, and roasted nut salad. All the dishes had well-balanced flavors, but the walnut miso dressing stood out as particularly delicious. Despite my initial expectations of organic food being light in portion and flavor, this restaurant proved otherwise. Even if you order 4 or 3 side dishes, you're likely to feel full. The slightly bold flavors may be compensating for the mildness of the ingredients. It seems that the restaurant is quite popular on weekends, with long waiting times if you don't have a reservation. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

You can check out the about 15 deli options displayed in the showcase before ordering. The Organic Deli Set allows you to choose three items, along with additive-free miso soup and rice made with pesticide-free duck rice from Akita Prefecture. The dishes I chose were eggplant and nagaimo with shiso miso, grilled mackerel with plum mayonnaise, and tempeh sautéed in mustard soy sauce. All the deli options are healthy and go well with rice. Happy to see my favorite autumn flavors, sweet potatoes and pumpkin! - Kale, lettuce, purple cabbage, cherry tomatoes salad. Squeezing lemon gives a refreshing aroma! Sprinkling mint makes it even more refreshing! - Carrot marinade - Purple cabbage marinade - Steamed sweet potatoes, so sweet! - Coconut salad with pumpkin. Crunchy with onions. - Black rice, a bit chewy and delicious. - Fried sesame tofu. Crispy and warm. I love Buddha Bowls. It's been a while since I visited Midorie. Went for lunch with a friend after a long time. I kept looking at the menu before going, and then again at the deli counter when we arrived. The deli items are sparkling! Everything looks delicious! Couldn't decide between getting a deli set or a Buddha Bowl. Ended up choosing the Buddha Bowl, which I had been wanting to try for a while. Many customers are getting takeout as well. It's great to have a place like this nearby. Eating delicious and healthy food little by little is so satisfying. There are instructions on how to eat the Buddha Bowl, but it's delicious no matter how you eat it. Ah, happiness. Will definitely be back. Takeout might be a good option too.

This is a restaurant that I have been relying on for takeout many times. Last night, I ate beef bowl late at night and felt guilty, so today I finally had the chance to dine in to alleviate that guilt. I visited before 12 pm on a weekday and there were 3 groups of customers ahead of me. Since I was dining alone, I had to share a table with 3 chairs. The customers were not only women but also a few men. I chose the "Select Deli Lunch" with 3 items. There are 3 types of the Select series with 4, 5, and 3 items, but since I wasn't sure about the portion size, I chose carefully and went with 3 items on that day. [First item] Carrot Ginger Marinade This is a masterpiece that I have ordered for takeout many times. It's a staple from Midorie-san. My favorite part is that the carrots are sliced thick, giving a satisfying crunch. The taste is subtly flavored with ginger and vinegar, and the raisins and walnuts add a nice accent. [Second item] Eggplant and Thick Fried Tofu with Walnut Miso Dressing The walnut miso dressing is pleasantly sweet and has a gentle flavor. The fried tofu has a thick outer layer for a satisfying bite, while the eggplant is soft and the skin is firm. The bell peppers and walnut miso dressing, not the main ingredients, also make a perfect match, making me think that vegetables can be this delicious. [Third item] Komatsuna and Nagaimo Salad This is also part of the crunchy series, with both komatsuna and nagaimo making a satisfying crunch. The aroma of red algae is quite strong, giving the dish a taste of the sea. These 3 items come with miso soup and rice. The miso soup on that day had a few enoki mushrooms and wakame seaweed. You can choose from brown rice, black rice, or germ rice, or have a mix of all three. I chose the mix of all three, which was amazing! The rice had a chewy texture, allowing me to enjoy each type. Since I only chose salads this time, I didn't feel completely full. It was just right before going to the gym, but by 4 pm, I was feeling hungry again. If I had no plans later, I might have gone for the 4-item selection.
