A new spring roll soup restaurant opened in Gotanda♪ At first glance, it doesn't seem like a fashionable place that fits in Gotanda...! In a neighborhood where there are many male-oriented shops, this buffet-style restaurant where you can freely choose your toppings for "spring roll soup" seems to be popular among women. I was curious because it seemed out of place in this area, but it turned out to be very popular. My friends also said it was delicious! So, I decided to check it out! The interior has table seats and counter seats, with a moderate size of about 20 seats. When you arrive, a Chinese(?) staff member will greet you to confirm the number of people. (But not very friendly, haha) It's a new experience where you have to pick up your own toppings, and I was a bit flustered (^_^;) They pointed out that I should wear gloves on both hands for infection prevention, as I only had one hand wearing them... (But they didn't provide any explanations or guidance, haha) You have to choose at least 20g of toppings, so you use tongs to select your favorite vegetables, water dumplings, meatballs, etc. from the many options available! I chose eggplant, wonton, wood ear mushrooms, quail eggs, and other things that I like♪ I was a bit nervous about the price, so I skimped on the amount of toppings, resulting in a spring roll soup that looked like it had already been eaten, haha (refer to the photo). I'm not good with spicy food, but I can eat it, so I chose 1 level of spiciness! I can handle up to level 2 at CoCo Ichibanya, so I thought I would be fine! If you choose less than level 1, it becomes a clear soup, which is not spicy at all. If you came all the way here... right? Zero spiciness means there's no challenge at all. Well, as long as it's level 1, I should be able to handle it based on my experience. I can eat kimchi, and I sprinkle shichimi on udon. I can handle Korean food to some extent, so it's not like I can't eat it at all! So, let's dig in!! The result... I failed_(:3 」∠)_ Wait, level 1?? I can't believe this is zero spiciness...! Well, I can eat it, but it's hot and spicy, a double punch!! The spring rolls that I was counting on didn't save me from the spiciness. I guess the spring rolls absorbed the soup. The spring rolls are very chewy and delicious, with a firm texture that is healthier and better than udon. But it's too spicy_(:3 」∠)_ The toppings are not spicy! (Of course) The toppings are delicious! But the spring rolls are spicy!! The soup is delicious too! But it's spicy!!! In the end, I managed to eat all the toppings, phew... On the table, there are condiments like ginger and black vinegar that are unique to soup and spring rolls. Oh, I wonder if adding these condiments to the clear soup would have been the right choice_(:3 」∠)_ Sadly, I had to give up on finishing it... Defeated. The taste is very delicious! It has a healthy flavor with a hint of spices! Next time, I want to come with my friends and add condiments to the clear soup. By the way, payment is cashless only, so be careful! I highly recommend it to those who like spicy food♪ Even with such simple toppings, it cost around 800 yen, so the cost performance might not be that great? But it's nice to be able to easily eat healthy herbal soup! ◎
