I visited a recommended eel restaurant by a relative. They had three options for eel dishes: top quality, pine, and bamboo. Unfortunately, on the day of my visit, the top quality and pine options were sold out by around 5 pm (even though I had made a reservation). So, I ended up ordering the bamboo eel dish, along with some grilled eel liver and their recommended tofu. First, I tried the tofu, which they claimed was a must-try even if you don't eat eel. And they were right - the tofu was rich, flavorful, and paired perfectly with a sprinkle of salt. It was truly delicious and I highly recommend trying it. The grilled eel liver was tender and went well with sake. As for the bamboo eel dish, the eel was soft, full of flavor, and enhanced by the smoky aroma from grilling over charcoal. I definitely want to try the top quality or pine options next time.

I made a reservation for a seat over the phone the day before, but it turned out to be just a reservation for the meal, which was a bit disappointing. I chose "松" because I wanted to eat a lot, and on the day of the reservation, I arrived at lunchtime, the peak time. Without a reservation, they only provided bamboo. I was prepared to wait, so I waited inside the car for over 30 minutes until the meal was served. The parking lot required some skill to park. Was the wait worth it? Yes, because I was hungry and the food was delicious. The eel was tender and flavorful, and the grilled liver had little to no smell and was tasty. I accidentally ordered the large portion, which was so filling that I couldn't even close the lid (so be careful if you have a small appetite). I was completely satisfied with the taste and portion. Despite the crowded restaurant, I was able to enjoy my meal leisurely at my table.

I have been coming to Takase for about 30 years now, and the taste has not changed from before, it is really delicious. In the past, it was easy to make a reservation anytime, but now it's difficult to reserve a seat, and even the eel pre-orders have become strict. That's how popular it is. Among the many delicious eel restaurants in the Hachioji area, I still think Takase is the best, but it's strange that it's not listed in the top 100 eel restaurants. Also, the tofu here was excellent. I highly recommend trying it.

I had always wanted to visit this eel restaurant. I made a reservation over the phone the night before and we were able to get a seat after waiting for about an hour. The food was delicious, the best I've ever had. The cold tofu was also tasty. I would love to come back to eat here again. Thank you for the meal.

I visited on Saturday afternoon. I had the Unaju Matsudon, which was delicious and elegant. I reserved the Unaju Matsudon by phone the day before, which can be a bit tricky as the line is often busy. It's best to decide on your order beforehand by checking the menu. Reservations for seating are not accepted. On the day of my visit, I received a buzzer and waited outside the restaurant for about 30 minutes. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant.

It's delicious. The sauce is not too heavy, allowing you to savor the eel. If you get a call and they can seat you sooner, consider yourself lucky. If you're going without a reservation, it's recommended to arrive around 5:15 pm to be seated in the first round. If you have a reservation, arriving around 4:20 pm might get you in the first round. Either way, be prepared to wait, as it only makes the eel taste even better. That's the secret!

The restaurant was very popular and fully booked. I made a reservation for eel over the phone and arrived after 7pm, waiting for about an hour! (Note that the parking lot is narrow, so it may be difficult for those who are not confident in their driving skills). The tofu served with salt was rich and unlike any tofu I had ever tasted before! The eel was crispy and flavorful, with a generous amount of sansho pepper. I finished it in no time! Thank you for the delicious meal!

Excellent!! The price is high, but the amount of eel is satisfying. I felt full even without ordering extra rice. You should be able to ask for less rice if you have a small appetite. The constant delay in serving the simmered tripe, which should have been prepared in advance, remains a mystery...

I visited the restaurant after making a reservation a few days in advance for the long weekend. When I arrived at the reserved time, I saw a "sold out" sign! I was glad I made a reservation. I tried the fillet skewer, liver skewer, tofu, and premium eel rice bowl. Last time, when I visited on a weekday without a reservation, they only had eel rice bowls left, but what caught my eye was the tofu and grilled eel rice bowl (without steaming), so I had to come back for it. There was a sign saying "Even if you don't have the eel rice bowl, try the tofu," and I'm glad I did. The tofu was amazing! It had a new texture and flavor that could almost be considered a soybean sweet. I highly recommend trying it. I also ordered the Kansai-style grilled eel rice bowl, and it was perfect! The eels that day were from Kagoshima, and I couldn't help but enjoy the perfect match between the eel and the dish.

Today, my boss treated me to a meal of eel. We drove there and were relieved to find a parking lot available at the restaurant. The highlight of the meal was the rich and flavorful tofu made by "Tofu Workshop Yu" in Aome. The staff recommended enjoying the tofu without soy sauce.

I went on a long drive to visit this restaurant that is usually crowded, but luckily I was able to get in easily. I'm not very familiar with eel, but it was fluffy and more like eating clouds than melting in your mouth, and it was delicious. I went around 12:30 and it was very busy, so I could only order the regular eel dish. If you want to try the premium eel dishes like Matsutake, it's better to go early.

If you want to eat eel in Hachioji, this is the place to go! Almost everyone makes reservations even on weekdays! I ordered the eel rice bowl (bamboo) with white grilled eel soup and pickles! The eel grilled over charcoal is fluffy and delicious! You can also add extra sauce! You can choose between two types of sansho pepper, regular and high-quality ones that are not steamed! The white grilled eel melts in your mouth!!! It's exquisite! I want to go back to eat the fluffy eel again ♡

The sweet and rich flavor of the tofu was exquisite. Paired with pickles and beer to quench the thirst, followed by the Unadon (eel rice bowl) was amazing! The fluffy eel had a crispy surface coated with fragrant fat, and it paired perfectly with the seasoned rice. The scent of the sansho pepper was also delightful. It was a very satisfying meal.

It's right in the middle of Golden Week. I called a week ago to make a reservation, but they could only hold an eel for me. When I arrived around 1:00, the restaurant was just opening up and I was able to get a seat. The grilled eel, eel roll, and eel rice bowl were all delicious.

When you hear the name "Unagiya," you might automatically think of a conservative place, but this restaurant is different. They are not afraid of change and put effort into various creative ideas. Their specialty menu, usage methods, and menu design all have unique touches that make the dining experience enjoyable. And of course, the eel is delicious without a doubt.

A long-standing establishment in the Tama area known for its eel dishes, which had caught my interest for some time. The woman wearing a training name tag had a wonderful smile and hospitality. This only raised my expectations even more. The larger eels were sold out, so they were only serving smaller ones. I ordered skewers of fin, liver, and belly, as well as boiled eel head, which were just right for the smaller eels. The eel rice bowl with vinegared rice, sansho pepper, soup, and pickles were all excellent and complemented the grilled eel perfectly. Above all, the grilling and sauce were outstanding.

It had been a while since my last visit, but the restaurant was still as crowded as ever. Even though I had made a reservation, I had to wait outside for about 20 minutes. This time, it was a lunch to say goodbye to a friend due to a job transfer, but despite the wait, the food was delicious as always. Even if there is a wait, it is still a restaurant that I would like to visit again.

Whenever I went shopping in Tachikawa, I always glanced at the sign for "Unagi Takase" and thought, "I want to eat there." But it's always crowded and expensive... However, finally! Huh? The parking lot next to the store is empty?! Let's go! I went to eat. The staff warmly welcomed me and gave detailed explanations of the dishes and seasonings. The eel was fluffy and the sauce had depth!! I already love "Unaju" but the sauce at Takase is too delicious! The recommended "tofu" at Takase was my first time trying it, but it was also delicious. It has a firm texture like sesame tofu or jellied tofu, with a rich flavor. There was a sign in the store saying, "Even if you don't eat Unaju, please try the tofu and take it home." It totally makes sense!

It had been a while since my last visit. Despite the rain and it being a Saturday night, I was seated fairly quickly. I had pre-ordered the eel rice bowl, which was as fluffy and delicious as always. The aroma of sansho pepper added a unique touch to the dish. I like to sprinkle a little on my rice instead of directly on the eel. For dessert, I tried the hojicha pudding, which was also very tasty. It seems they use ingredients from local producers in the area.

"Unagi Takase" is quite famous around Hachioji. I made a reservation in advance (both for the table and the eel) and went there in my Prius 50. The restaurant is located near Komiyama Station on the Hachiko Line, about a 5-minute walk away. I was worried about not finding parking due to its popularity, but it turned out to be fine. There are parking spaces for 4 cars in front of the restaurant and an additional parking lot for 20 cars a bit further south. The interior of the restaurant was decorated with various sports memorabilia, and we were seated promptly at our reserved table. We ordered a variety of dishes, including tofu, healthy salad, grilled eel, liver, and eel tempura. The dishes were flavorful and well-prepared, with the eel dishes being a highlight. The grilled eel with special spices was particularly unique and delicious. The liver dishes were also tasty, with a good balance of bitterness and umami. The eel tempura was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. We also enjoyed the eel simmered in a kabuto-ni style, although the cartilage was a bit off-putting. The eel rice bowls we ordered were generous in portion and featured tender and flavorful eel. Overall, we had a great dining experience at "Unagi Takase" and would love to visit again in the future.
