I enjoyed a leisurely meal at the counter seats. It was good that I had thoroughly researched the building beforehand as the restaurant didn't have a signboard! The dishes are served one by one in bite-sized portions, but the tempura portion is decent, and they also cook rice in a clay pot, so you can get full. You can choose from three types of rice. The large-grained rice "Ryuno Hitomi" that you don't often come across was delicious. The cheese tempura was hot and gooey, like rich milk. The shrimp tempura was the best with the umami and sweetness of the shrimp. The kombu with roe was fun with the popping texture in your mouth. The eel and beef fillet were entertaining to pour the sauce from the syringe. They paid attention to the smallest details, and I had a wonderful time. I don't want to tell people about this hidden gem, but I feel like I want to brag that I know a great place.笑

"Iguchi, a tempura restaurant affiliated with Komeru, was a new experience for me as I had been to Komeru before. Firstly, the restaurant was located on the 5th floor and I had to climb a lot of stairs to get there. There was no sign outside the restaurant (probably because it is affiliated with Komeru) but once inside, I was quickly led to a private room with dim lighting. The course menu included some items from Komeru as well. The tempura was crispy and delicious, true to the tempura restaurant style. However, when compared to Iguchi and Komeru, the quality felt a bit lacking. The atmosphere in the private room was really nice though. Overall, it was a good experience. Thank you for the meal."

After 8 years, I visited this place again. I remembered that I used to go to the Iguchi group before, which was the reason I visited Upper Rue last week after going to Mie Rue. I remembered that it was located on the 5th floor of a building near Ebisu station. This place might be tough for ladies wearing heels, especially the stairs going down when leaving, so it's better to wear sneakers. From June, they have a new collaboration menu with Mie Rue, with a mix of kaiseki-style dishes from Mie Rue in the beginning, followed by the usual skewer menu, and ending with Mie Rue's clay pot rice and tempura. The sashimi of yellowtail was a bit fishy. The skewer dishes were delicious, but the grated radish was dry and disappointing. The clay pot rice at the end was an additional 800 yen, and I chose the "Ryuno Hitomi" rice, which was incredibly delicious. Eating the delicious clay pot rice with tempura was amazing, but I felt like the kaiseki-style dishes from Mie Rue were unnecessary here. The number of skewers was reduced, and the quality of the kaiseki dishes was not that high. However, in the end, the delicious rice made me satisfied.

- This is a restaurant suitable for a date with a calm atmosphere. There are no loud customers around, so you can have a peaceful conversation. The actual atmosphere matches the photos, so you can refer to them directly, which is recommended.
- When making a reservation, I requested a private room through online booking, but on the day of the reservation, I received a call saying that they couldn't provide a private room. I thought the response was a bit slow. However, the follow-up afterwards was perfect. They suggested another restaurant within the same group that had a private room available, and also provided specific suggestions for the day if a private room couldn't be arranged. Additionally, the staff paid attention to details such as reminding us to watch our step due to a small step on the floor, and reminding us to be careful going down the stairs on our way out. They were attentive in small things like pouring water at the right time during the course and clearing plates promptly.
- The course includes fried dishes such as tempura and kushikatsu. It might be a bit light for men as a dinner, but it felt just right for women. The sashimi was a bit average, but the fried dishes were delicious.

Located in Ebisu, Nakameguro Iguchi Ue (@nakameguro_iguch) is a hidden gem on the 5th floor of a mixed-use building, offering a course of 23 tempura and kushikatsu dishes for ¥6800. I visited with my family on Father's Day. It had been about 8 years since my last visit when the restaurant first opened. This time, we enjoyed a course that ended with freshly cooked rice in a clay pot (you can choose from 3 different types of rice at different prices). The course started with an appetizer platter, sashimi, soup, chawanmushi, and a Japanese salad, followed by various tempura items such as ayu fish, shrimp, conger eel, chicken, cheese, kelp, wagyu beef, corn, shiitake mushroom, ginkgo nuts, and lotus root. The meal concluded with tempura of shrimp and scallops served with the freshly cooked rice. You can eat the tempura separately or pour the accompanying sauce over the rice for a tempura rice bowl. The portion sizes were just right, and it was a delightful course where you could enjoy a variety of dishes for a reasonable price. I also look forward to visiting Nakameguro Iguchi for their yakitori dishes after such a long time.

As others have mentioned, the location of the restaurant is quite hard to find, so it's better to research it in advance. The interior of the restaurant is very sophisticated and stylish! It seems to be popular for dates. The food was also very delicious, but the lack of prices for additional menu items is a downside.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is truly cozy and feels like a hidden gem, with the interior being dark in a good way that creates an exciting space. We had a course meal, and everything was delicious, beautifully presented, and just the right amount. The cost performance was also excellent. The staff were polite and provided great service, making me want to come back for a special occasion.

Even though it faces a main street, I couldn't find the entrance at all haha. I climbed up to the 5th floor using the stairs. The fried food was delicious, and the master recommended various types of sake, which made it enjoyable. Thank you for the delicious meal. It was a feast.

There is a shop near Ebisu Station. However, it's hard to find because there is no sign on the building and the door is black with no name. It's on the 5th floor with no elevator, so you have to take the stairs. The atmosphere inside is dark and hidden, giving it a secretive feel. They serve 23 small dishes, mainly tempura and kushikatsu, all of which were delicious. There were additional menu items listed on the back, but we didn't order any. The price of 5,480 yen was cheap for what we got, but the drinks were all over 1,000 yen, so it might not be suitable for heavy drinkers. The stairs are steep, so be careful going down after drinking.

Visited for a birthday celebration! We were able to relax and have a good time in a private room. They only offer omakase style, but they were kind enough to bring out food for latecomers as needed! The service was much appreciated ✨ There were plenty of different types of kushikatsu to enjoy, and a decent selection of wine that wasn't overwhelming, making it easy to choose. I'd like to sit at the counter next time with just two people! It was delicious, thank you for the meal!

The restaurant doesn't have a sign and is quietly located on the 5th floor, making it quite a hidden gem. When you cautiously open the door, you'll find a chic counter where they carefully fry each piece in front of you. The skewered kombu with children, carrot tempura, and chicken soup simmered for 8 hours are particularly favorites. The chicken ramen served as a finishing touch was also very delicious.

I tried the amazing tempura and kushikatsu course at Kamiya in Asakusa, following the delicious yakitori omakase course at Maekawa Honten. First up was Kamiya's classic, the "Croquette with French Foie Gras." I love foie gras so I could eat these all day! The "Luxurious Chicken Soup Cooked for 8 Hours" was incredibly rich. The small dish of "Hokuhoku Tempura with Earthy Flavors" was adorable, especially the Camembert cheese. Highly recommended tempura items include the shrimp, seasonal fish (oysters), firefly squid, Edomae conger eel, chicken tempura, and lotus root tempura. They really emphasize the freshness of the ingredients, even more than sushi in my opinion! The chicken tempura is cooked medium rare! Highly recommended kushikatsu items include the nostalgic ham cutlet, kelp-wrapped shrimp, pork loin, beef fillet, quail, seasonal vegetable tempura (carrot), and seasonal vegetables (asparagus, mushrooms, sweet potatoes, ginkgo nuts). The kelp-wrapped shrimp is delicious! The quail egg is also perfectly runny! The sweet potato is soft and melts in your mouth. I was too full for the tempura bowl at the end, but I'll definitely try it next time I visit!

I made a reservation for a 23-course meal at this restaurant. The food is delicious and it's fun to watch them prepare it right in front of you. The interior is also beautiful. Points to note: - There is no elevator, so it may be difficult for those with weak knees to climb up to the 5th floor. - The restaurant is dimly lit and quiet. The atmosphere is lovely and very clean. - Affordable and delicious! They also have private rooms, so it's a great place for a date or to enjoy with friends. I would love to visit again next time.

The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and kind, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was great. Every dish was really delicious, especially the foie gras croquette which had no gaminess and was particularly tasty. The sweet potato tempura was also amazing, with a level of sweetness I had never experienced before.

You can go up to the fifth floor by stairs. There is a slightly long staircase, but you can enjoy stylish fried food in a chic hidden space. The taste is delicious as usual, but the atmosphere is very nice! I think it would be nice to say, "Let's go for some fried food?" in this kind of restaurant.

I visited this restaurant for a friend's birthday dinner. The location of the restaurant can be quite difficult to find for first-timers! I had checked the reviews and confirmed that the entrance is the gray door of the building with the contact shop, so I was okay. The inside of the restaurant is very dark, but the staff were very helpful in guiding us, even when we went to the restroom. I was worried about whether I could finish the 23-course meal, but each dish was bite-sized and served at a good pace, so I could enjoy them all. The last dish was a bit spicy, though. Other customers were ordering additional items, so I recommend going on an empty stomach. Lastly, the counter seating is in a single row and the restaurant is dark, so the atmosphere is nice, but for those who prefer a quiet experience, I think the private rooms would be better.

The trendy restaurant in Nakameguro, Iguchi Kamiru, is known for its lack of a signboard and bonsai plants. I had always wanted to try their tempura cuisine. Located on the 5th floor of a mixed-use building near Ebisu station, the entrance was a bit tricky to find with stairs leading up. However, once inside, I was transported to a different world. I enjoyed a satisfying omakase course of tempura and kushiage at the stylish counter. The staff were friendly and made the experience even more enjoyable. Thank you for a wonderful time. The food was delicious!

There is no signboard at the store, so it can be confusing for first-time visitors. It has a hidden gem atmosphere. I ordered the course menu, and the portion sizes are small and easy to eat. It's great that you can also order a finishing dish. This time, I chose ramen! It's not heavy and has a light texture, so I think even women can enjoy it without worry.

Today, my junior colleague and I had a delicious meal in Ebisu that filled us up. It was the first time drinking in Ebisu with my junior. Lately, I've been cooking for myself, so I got information about this restaurant. We had to climb up to the 5th floor, which made me out of breath as usual. We opted for the course menu and filled our stomachs.

On this day, I was invited by a business partner to Ebisu and climbed up the stairs to the 5th floor of a building. The entrance was a door with no sign or anything written on it. When I cautiously opened it, I found myself in a completely dark space with only lighting at my feet. As I walked a little further, I entered a cozy restaurant with a counter seating for 8 people. The menu consisted of a course meal only, so I chose a drink first. I started with a beer and then enjoyed dishes like foie gras tempura, a bite-sized chawanmushi, tempura, and kushikatsu. Lastly, I finished with a chicken broth ramen that had been simmered for 8 hours. It was a delightful meal.
