I ordered the Special Rokusanjin Course [33,000 yen]. The walnut white miso in a persimmon pot has a delicious sweetness added by the persimmon. The grilled barracuda sushi is fragrant and tasty. The crispy texture of the leeks and green onions in the soup is good. The tuna sashimi is delicious with its fatty texture. The grilled Spanish mackerel with citrus grated radish is also delicious. The thick shiitake mushrooms are tasty. The simmered dish of alfonsino and spring chrysanthemum is good, but the yuzu might be a bit overwhelming. The mackerel sushi with bonito jelly is refreshing. The rice with Japanese bluefish and sweet potato is delicious. The miso soup with komatsuna and tofu is deeply flavorful. The sweet vinegar pickled daikon has a crunchy texture and a good sweet and sour taste. The crown melon for dessert is sweet and delicious. The pumpkin-filled rice cake is also tasty. Overall, everything is delicious and of high quality, but at this price point, it would be nice to have a standout dish that leaves a stronger impression.

The interior of the restaurant has a soothing Japanese scent, creating a comfortable atmosphere. The light dishes were delicious, especially the soup and sashimi. The tableware by Rozen is also charming and adds to the overall experience.

The restaurant is located in Nagatacho, so many government officials visit. The food was delicious, but the servers seemed to be waiting nearby, which made it hard to relax and talk. The room was decorated for New Year's, and the seasonal dishes were good, but we felt rushed to leave after finishing our tea. We had lunch there, but only an hour and a half had passed when we checked the time.

I visited the "Fukuda House" over 30 years ago when it was still a wooden structure. Back then, this place was a fugu (blowfish) restaurant called "Fukuden." Since then, the old Fukuda House has turned into a building, and they moved to their current location. I've heard that they have done quite a bit of renovation, but they still have a wonderful collection of dishes. As it is New Year's, they serve celebratory dishes in a luxurious setting. The flavors are rich and well-balanced, typical of a traditional Japanese restaurant. This is the taste of Tokyo. 2023 started off wonderfully at this place.

I enjoyed a course meal at Rokusanjin. Lately, I have been dining at Japanese restaurants, but sitting on tatami mats and enjoying kaiseki cuisine was a very meaningful experience. After the meal, the Rokusanjin tableware was arranged beautifully, making it a fun time. Thank you very much.

The staff at the entrance greeted us warmly and everything was done with care. The dining experience in the luxurious space was wonderful. Each dish showcased the quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail, making us feel at ease. The Japanese dashi broth was soothing for our tired bodies. I particularly enjoyed the deer noodles and the rice with large conger eel and sansho pepper. The end-of-summer menu included dishes like horse mackerel and flounder sashimi, corn and matsutake mushroom, botan shrimp, squid, grilled pike conger, red eggplant, deer noodles, winter melon simmered with shellfish, sesame miso grilled duck eggplant, okra, shrimp, asparagus, paprika, Tokyo lemon jelly, large conger eel, rice with sansho pepper, and pickled plums.

Fukuda-ke, located in Kioicho, is a restaurant that was inspired by the world of food and beauty of the famous writer Kitaoji Rosanjin. It has been in business for 83 years and has been visited by cultural figures such as Kawabata Yasunari, Yukio Mishima, and Isamu Noguchi. The service and cuisine at Fukuda-ke are top-notch in Japan. The restaurant changes its decor and tableware according to the seasons, allowing diners to fully experience the essence of Japanese cuisine. The current head chef, Mr. Matsushita, continues to innovate while preserving the traditions of Fukuda-ke. The dishes are not only delicious but also creatively presented, such as the ayu fish dish resembling a swimming fish with a cucumber hat. The restaurant offers private dining rooms, ensuring a discreet and intimate dining experience suitable for special occasions and entertaining guests. Fukuda-ke is a must-visit restaurant in Tokyo for those who appreciate fine Japanese cuisine.

I visited the special collaboration event between the Michelin two-starred restaurant Fukuda-ke and the aged meat specialist Kakunoshin, which is often used for entertaining in the political and business world. The meat dishes prepared by Fukuda-ke's head chef Matsushita using the selected meats by Kakunoshin were incredibly delicious, with each dish having its own unique twist. We were able to enjoy the combination of March ingredients and meat, as well as the pairing of blowfish milt with meat. The surf and turf combination was surprisingly good. The bamboo shoot and beef shigure-ni rice was so delicious that I couldn't stop myself from getting seconds (laughs).

The restaurant is known for being frequented by all former prime ministers and VIPs from various countries. The atmosphere is wonderful, with even Rozen serving dishes, allowing you to feel like a politician (laughs). The food is delicious as well, with the Michelin two-star rating being well-deserved. The persimmons used in the dishes are so delicious that I ended up eating all of them without realizing. The refined dashi soup is so good that I couldn't help but ask for seconds, and the sweet potato and Spanish mackerel mixed rice was also delicious, leading me to ask for more!

Located next to the New Otani Hotel, this long-established traditional Japanese restaurant is known for its beautiful ambiance and rich history. Originally opened as a cooking inn in the Toranomon area before the war, it caught the eye of the famous poet Kitaoji Rosanjin due to the elegance and various talents of the previous proprietress, Machi Fukuda. Despite its long history, the restaurant is welcoming to newcomers like myself, offering fantastic service and a variety of delicious dishes. While the cuisine is rooted in Kyoto traditions, it also showcases a modern sensibility that celebrates the beauty of Japan's four seasons. In the Akasaka area, Fukudaya competes with other renowned Japanese restaurants like Tsujitsuma, Kikunoi, offering a dining experience that rivals those found in Kyoto. Visiting during the autumn season, known for its bountiful harvests and cultural richness, I felt truly fortunate and content.

A luxurious restaurant where you can enjoy a meal with Lu Shan Ren tableware. The location is fantastic and very quiet. The food is top-notch, costing around 50,000 yen per person. If you use Lu Shan Ren tableware, it's an additional 10,000 yen per person. There is also a separate 20% service charge. For two people, it's around 150,000 yen. The level of service felt more like a restaurant with a customer spending 20,000 to 30,000 yen. It was not bad, but it felt lacking. The most disappointing part was the food... The bonito sashimi had a slight fishy smell, and the grilled fish tasted like it had been sitting for a while. The sesame tofu and meat dish were delicious though. The meat dish was decent, something you could find in many restaurants. The sesame tofu was well-made. Overall, I wish they would put more effort into their dishes.

I was invited by my brother, who is a Japanese cuisine chef, to have lunch at Fukuda-ke, located across from Hotel New Otani (Tower). The restaurant is known for receiving advice from the famous artist Rosanjin Kitaoji and providing hundreds of pieces of pottery and calligraphy when the main building opened. Currently, the restaurant operates in a separate building that resembles a renovated private home with only 4 rooms. The 7-course meal, from the appetizer to the pickled vegetables, was beautifully presented like a painting, and I spent a dream-like 2 hours enjoying each dish. The head chef, who prioritizes customer satisfaction, and the young 4th-generation president, who maintains tradition while incorporating new ideas (following Rosanjin's teachings), created a wonderful experience. It is a great restaurant that you would want to take your loved ones to.

I visited this restaurant in early summer! Even though it's early summer, the rainy season hasn't ended yet, and we are still in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, so precautions like social distance are being taken into consideration!
- Appetizer: Zunda (sweet edamame paste) with fresh vegetables - a beautiful and colorful presentation, like a jewel box of food! The sea urchin somen served in a pot was a unique experience as the sea urchin was still alive and moving.
- Soup: Corn soup with abalone - a sweet and luxurious soup with the sweetness of corn and the richness of abalone.
- Sashimi: Red sea bream sashimi served on a dish by Rozen, with a topping of salted shrimp eggs. The presentation on the Rozen dish is a trademark of the Fukuda family.
- Grilled dish: Grilled ayu (sweetfish) served vertically on the plate, showcasing the lively and fresh appearance of the fish.
- Cold simmered dish: Octopus simmered in a sweet sauce, a traditional dish of the Fukuda family.
- Warm dish: Conger eel, mountain vegetables, and bracken in warm broth - a perfect balance of flavors and textures.
- Vinegared dish: Horse mackerel and summer vegetables vinegared dish - a refreshing palate cleanser before the rice course.
- Rice, soup, and pickles: Rice with Ma-anago (conger eel) and fresh lotus root, a delicious combination. The pickles with trefoil and yuzu were a personal favorite.
- Dessert: Yubari melon, Pione grape, and peach - sweet and refreshing, a perfect end to the meal.
Overall, this meal captured the essence of early summer in Japan, with fresh and seasonal ingredients. Each dish was beautifully presented and highlighted the beauty of Japanese cuisine. I hope that this restaurant will continue to thrive in the future, and I look forward to visiting again!

This is a Michelin two-star restaurant favored by politicians. I visited after trying their delicious bento box for takeout. The ingredients are carefully selected, and all the dishes are tasty. It's not just traditional Japanese cuisine; they also experiment with dishes like sashimi with olive oil. The restaurant is associated with the great figure, Kitaoji Rosanjin, and you can feel his influence throughout. It may seem high-end, but it's surprisingly reasonably priced, and the ambiance and setting are truly wonderful. I recommend this restaurant for those who enjoy fine dining. Check out my detailed food review on my blog.

On the first day of work, my friends and I decided to start the new year with a bang by dining at a Michelin two-star restaurant that has consistently held its stars for over 10 years. Located just a few minutes' walk from Akasaka Mitsuke, the restaurant exudes a sense of elegance and tradition. Each room is a private tatami room, a unique feature not commonly found in other restaurants. It's no wonder that this place has hosted numerous cultural figures and witnessed the creation of many memories through dining experiences. While I have attended events at traditional restaurants for work, this was my first time visiting as a private guest, making it a truly special experience. The restaurant has a deep connection with the artist Rosanjin, and even just admiring the exquisite tableware feels like immersing oneself in Japanese culture. The staff are knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions, turning the dining experience into a journey through culinary history. The food, of course, is top-notch, but it's the rich history and continuous evolution of this brand that truly sets it apart. It's like visiting a museum of food. I hope this restaurant will continue to evolve and inspire future generations to appreciate and enjoy this unique cultural experience. Before that, we must also strive to cultivate an appreciation for such traditions. On this particular day, the restaurant was celebrating the new year with a special menu that showcased the beauty of Japan's four seasons. It was a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant to experience its charm firsthand!

I visited the restaurant "Fukudaya" in Kioicho with a rating of 3.05 on Tabelog. The location is in Kioicho, right in front of Hotel New Otani. The exterior is a traditional Japanese-style house with a charming atmosphere. The staff guided us to the entrance, adding to the historical feel of the place. Inside, there are private rooms and various decorations related to the renowned figure, Kitaoji Rosanjin. The restaurant was founded by Fukuda Machi, who was inspired by Rosanjin's world of food and beauty. Since its establishment in 1939, Fukudaya has been a popular spot for famous figures like Rosanjin, Yasunari Kawabata, and Hideki Yukawa. The restaurant has a rich history, having been used as a lodging for the Japanese Army during the war and later relocated to Kioicho. Despite operating only in a separate building now, Fukudaya still exudes a sense of tradition and elegance. The cuisine focuses on the harmony of taste and aesthetics, with beautifully presented dishes that enhance the flavors. Overall, it is a wonderful restaurant with a long-standing reputation.

The traditional Japanese restaurant. It feels like being entertained. The hostess and waitresses keep pouring drinks attentively. The food is surprisingly delicious for a traditional restaurant. The portion size is also reasonable. They even gave us a souvenir. The service is impeccable and everyone is well-trained. This place is amazing.

Even ordinary people can receive a proper hospitality here. Although it is a historic ryotei, it does not seem to cater exclusively to VIPs or celebrities. The main building has been replaced by a former annex, which now serves as the main store. The interior is adorned with beautiful lighting and pottery, making it visually appealing despite its small size. The cuisine is characterized by gentle and deep Japanese flavors, but there are also playful condiments and dishes with Western influences. Personally, I prefer traditional dishes without much innovation, but the new twists were successful and delicious. The fruit served at the end was perfectly ripe and very tasty. The dishes I had were served in Rozen pottery, which explains the slightly higher prices. Using Rozen pottery enhances the dining experience for pottery enthusiasts. The pricing of the dishes seems to be based on the quality of ingredients, so if you don't have a preference for expensive ingredients, opting for a lower-priced course might be more suitable (lunch starts at around 20,000 yen). This restaurant may not be the best choice for those seeking a high-quality dining experience at a reasonable price, but it offers a great opportunity to savor the atmosphere and history of a well-established establishment.

As expected from a two-star Michelin restaurant, the satisfaction was high! They only rotate four rooms, but it was a luxurious space. All the meals were delicious, especially the sashimi with salt and olive oil was shocking ☺ The hospitality was excellent, and I would love to visit again.
